Great neighborhood cafe! I came in for the first time and Momma bear was very warm with her welcoming. She recommended me their crispy country potatoes with their homemade salsa 10/10. I’m coming back for sure
I’ve been coming here for years. This is your “Old school style COFEE Shop”. Good food, good prices, and friendly staff. Never a wait. Check them out for a sit in or takeout! Say hi to Mama Bear!
Down home good cooking and atmosphere. Great employees and darn good breakfast. Visiting from out of town. Day one had corned beef hash, day two (photo) had the Louisiana Sausage and Eggs. So. Darn. Good.
If traveling on Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), this charming time capsule is a must stop in Lomita, California. I grew up in the neighborhood and have many fond memories of this place. Whenever in town or close by, I always stop by when possible. The Marinated Steak is a must for meat lovers. **Disclaimer**: The images are from November 2021 and the $7.99 Steak Dinner might not be the same price when you visit in the future. Rumor has it that actor Telly Savalas would stop by for coffee in the 1970s.
New Remodel 3-28 2018 Will bring Beauty & Keep Old Style Charm. Seafood Platter Great, Steak Special A + FOR $7.99 Unbeatable. They make Fresh Salsa which I Like with many meal selections. Excellent Says TripAdvisor Top 1%. Linkedin Global Ambassador Of Travel Says Try if For Friendly Old Time Experience & Price.
Love it!!!!! If you happen to stumble across Mr. G's Restaurant you have to try their Chili Size Burger I highly recommend it. The prices are super affordable, the food options are great, and the staff are amazing people.

Been here twice and have been blessed both times to have been served by Mama Bear. Food and service are excellent in this quaint diner.
Our fav hostess Mama Bear from Black Bear Diner is now serving @ Mr. G’s one of South Bay’s finest breakfast spots. Marinated Steak & Eggs. You won’t be disappointed 🥩🍳
Super cool vibe old diner. Fantastic service, great food, still great prices
Got the Ribeye Streak and Eggs, cooked to perfection and recommendation from the lovely Mamma Bear on the house potatoes instead of hashbrown.
Randomly stumbled on this amazing little diner in the heart of Lomita! I highly recommend the steak and eggs with their fresh homemade salsa! Mama Bear is an awesome waitress who will treat you with kindness and a great conversation and she even keeps your coffee topped and warm! A Classic original diner experience!

Mr G's Steak and Coffee Shop is open for Christmas. Succulent steak, saucy meaty omelette, fluffy pancakes, sweet homemade cherry pie, strong and hearty coffee for which the place is made and named. I would like to come back to this place often, a standout, a bargain, reliable as good taste and exemplary as kind service, and a gem with seeming solid community history.
Mr. G’s is the best kept secret in South Bay. The food is delicious and the service is super friendly. When there are lines every where else, Mr G’s will welcome you with open arms, and when you go, tell Mama Bear hello for me! She’s the best : )
Mr. G’s is a hidden gem. This was my first time here and we’ll definitely be back. Food was delish and that homemade salsa was on point! The service and atmosphere was fun, Momma Bear was so friendly and and funny at the same time. Mr. G’s is a must for a great meal!

The first time I came for breakfast on the weekend it was pretty good and service was great. I came for lunch during the week and the food absolutely horrible although the service was still good. The hamburger special supposed to be a 1/3 lb and the meat wasn't even a 1/4 lb and was oblong and much smaller than the bun and cooked til it was dry. The salad was wilted and looked like it was sitting in a pool of water before put on my plate. I don't know how a place would have the audacity to serve a salad that bad. I also ordered chili cheese fries and the fries were dense and stale tasting as if they fried some freezer burned fries. I don't think I'll be coming back here. I wanted to give it a chance but I now understand why the place looks empty and lonely all the time. Reminding me of an episode of Kitchen Nightmares.
