Confit duck here comes highly recommended from me, a good setting with fantastic wine, solid service and great food.

perfect. the earthy decor matches the down-to-earth hearty food. well chosen and affordable wines by the glass. wish there were a few more tables, as it's often fully booked.

We had such a delicious meal at Comptoir Gascon, the cassoulet and the duck confit are amazing. The staff is really lovely and very professional, I will definitely go back there as soon as I can.

Great food and drink in a casual environment with friendly service. Lots of lovely duck but, once you've had all that, try the steak.

I enjoy many a meal at Compton Gascon. This time I'd a 2-course £14 lunch special. Beautifully seasoned pan fried fish with the lightest and tasty mash. The duck burger look gorgeous as well. Most lunch items are around £14 so the lunch special was good value. Still a bit steep for lunch but it is well prepared and lovely cooked French food. Desserts are mostly cakes on display. Would recommend a visit.

Proper french food and quick service. They often have free tables for lunch early in the week, otherwise better to book. Their set menu is excellent value, highly recommend.

Wonderful place. It's a small restaurant offering classic French dishes. I like the authentic wooden decor inside - everything is brown and calm so you can eat in peace.

Delicious food and good selection of wine, some of which is available to buy from the deli section. Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is upmarket relaxed. It's in an interesting and historic part of London, close to.many bars and restaurants. I have always enjoyed working and socialising in this area, and this restaurant is definitely one I will return to.

Really good south-western (?) french restaurant with a great selection of duck! Prices are fair, especially lunch seems great value Funnily shaped place, they really make the most out of the area they have and give it great atmospheres, only one toilet too!

The portion is just right for ladies who don’t eat much, high quality food and great service.

Good bistro food, service is good. Atmosphere is nice however it's on the loud side and you can take part of your neighbours conversation very easily or vice versa.

Well decorated, good atmosphere room with wood and planty natural furnishings Starters tasted fantastic - chicken and piggy treats, but the chicken was served on a precariously large plate. It was a jigsaw fitting it on the table. Mains were pretty good but the potatoes with the confit duck were exceptionally, burn your tongue off garlicky and the sausage in the cassoulet was extremely dry Waitstaff were attentive and friendly. Overall a nice experience, but I expected a bit better.

Great French food for a good price. The staff were very friendly as well. The fois gras burger was great, but not exceptional. A bit too fatty for my taste. However the duck confit was exceptional and just like what you would get in France

Hugely disappointing to see they've changed their chips. They're now thin, machine cut burger king style frites that are overly hard and actually very unpleasant. For the love of god go back to the old method - you had the best chips in town. On the plus side it's a lovely little place with great staff.

The atmosphere was nice and very authentic. But I wasn't particularly amazed with duck confit or casserole, and so as my friend. If the duck was bit moist, we would probably have gone back there.

Meh... Good reviews but food is pretty good but not wow. Good for the price but was expecting more. Red Wines are not very good, as quite dry. Fries are average. Meats are good. Desserts are average. Better French places around but those are more expensive.

Wasn't that impressed by food given price or the service. Acquired tastes with lots of foie gras, trotters etc

Really disappointed. Didn’t have the option we wanted on the menu. Overpriced wine and food.

Miniscule portions. Had seabass with "potatoes" and piperade. Delicious but a pathetic size. Was still hungry after I finished and starving by 10pm. Poor value for money.

The service staff tried to accommodate me without a reservation. Unfortunately, the hyped foie gras burger was more greasy than anything, while the duck fat fries were soggy. Below standard and expectations.

Very disappointing food. The tiny portion of "foie gras" tasted peculiar, and the cassoulet seemed to have been poorly frozen: white bean mush without much flavour. Service was good and the place is unpretentious and not outrageously expensive. It needs serious attention to the kitchen.

Over priced , uncomfortable seating and tables , small portions and a under hand service charge . Avoid !

My department went to this restaurant for our Christmas meal. It was without question one of the worst meals I have ever experienced. I would never eat in this restaurant again.

Brought very special guests to this restaurant last Wednesday for lunch. Gosh, we regretted this choice! First of all, the service was appallingly slow. We did not receive one at all, if you wish. The waitress with the heaviest accent (at tomes we did not understand what she was saying) hardly attended us, never looked at us and to get her attention every time turned into a massive challenge! The worst thing was the food! Never have I ever come out of any restaurant being hungry! I ordered a well done steak that came cold! Not just luke warm or anything but cold! Eating cold meat is like eating cold pasta – a completely unpleasant experience. I did not finish it. One of our guests also told me that his steak was cold. We also ordered bread and butter but guess what, they never arrived! Chips. Seriously? A small bowl of chips for the 4 of us? How can this be ever sufficient? I am not coming back to this place and neither I recommend anyone to do so! It was so embarrassing for us in front of our clients, I cannot express this in words. They really did let us down. Any obvious excuse such as short-staffed or whichever else cannot by any means justify the God awful food and a really poor service. They did not even apologise. Disgusting.
