Really lovely spot for delicious British food. We loved all the pies and the dessert. Unfortunately our dishes took a while to come (hence 4 stars), though the staff are friendly and courteous. Beautiful setting and really nice ambiance. Definitely on the pricy side so better suited for special occasions.

So good, we went twice. Gave us some classic British cuisine but top notch quality. We had the Scotch egg, the fish and chips, the meat pie, the Sunday roast…and they were the best we’ve ever had! We tried other menu items (Dover sole deboned at the table; stellar trout tartare) and wish we could do more. Cocktails were also delicious. Loved The Rambler and gin options. Dessert was perfect along with the pairings - strawberries & cream and banoffee but better than you’re thinking. If you want to try some well known dishes seen around town but in a comfortable, classy dining room with exceptional, attentive service (see if Carlos is working), go here.

I had two dinners and two breakfasts here in the span of a week. All four times I was very well-treated, and service was exceptional. Mind you, this isn't one of those really posh places with the expected obsequious service either. I find the service very warm and friendly. I recommend their pies especially. They make them inhouse and are amazing. I had the braised beef pie and it was out of this world good. See pic. I also had their Sunday roast when I came on a Sunday night, and had the option of their pork belly. Yum! Breakfast is relaxed and unhurried, and I find it a very good way to get ready for the day ahead. On weekends they also have a breakfast buffet. I highly recommend coming here for a very nice meal and with excellent service.

We had a wonderful lunch at Holborn Dining Room. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and Eric T looked after us brilliantly. The food was outstanding: I had the Pie of the Month (turkey, sage, and cranberry) which tasted like Christmas in a pie. My daughter gave her prawns a “10/10,” my wife loved the lobster roll with its perfectly balanced mayonnaise, and I finished with the spiced plum crumble—the perfect ending to a perfect meal. There were four of us, including a family friend we hadn’t seen in over a decade, and the whole experience felt truly special. Holborn Dining Room strikes a rare balance of exceptional food, gracious service, and pricing that reflects the quality. A real treat and a lunch we’ll remember fondly.

We had an absolutely delicious meal for our Valentine’s Day lunch. The service was exceptional as well

Absolutely fantastic, unforgettable meal! AMAZING! High quality food and ingredients. If you want great British food, definitely give it a go. I would say it was my best meal in London, by far! The potato cheese truffle pie was so beautiful and the white truffles on top were an added bonus! The steak and bone marrow pie was unbelievable. The Norfolk chicken pie was great, and the lentil pie was super unique and tasty. I would go here again in a heartbeat. The hotel itself is gorgeous.

The best pie I’ve ever had. The chicken pie, scotch egg, and beef tartare were particularly exceptional. Charming staff. Will be returning!

Finally had the opportunity to visit this restaurant just by chance! 3+ years ago I saw a segment on CBS news about these beautiful pies and I haven’t been able to forget them. We were only in London for two days but stopping by The Pie Room was a dream come true. The atmosphere is both charming and elegant. The food is delicious and so are the cocktails. The customer service is absolutely fantastic. Special thank you to Douglass, our waiter who anticipated our every need (and more). We felt totally cared for. To top it all off, after dinner we met head Pie Maker, Nokx Majozi! She is so incredibly talented and kind hearted. What an amazing experience, could not have asked for a better one 💕.

Still one of my favourite places. Went here for dinner with my wife, as it was my birthday. Great atmosphere, well catered for by the attentive staff. Food was also great. A bit pricey but definitely one for a good treat or special occasion. Pies are always a good choice.

The pie was amazing. I couldn't have wished for more. And the cheese plate was vast. I have never encountered so much cheese at a restaurant.

We went to Holborn Dining Room for my wife’s birthday. From the moment we entered this magnificent space, the service was exceptional. Our waiter was incredibly patient and extremely knowledgeable about the gin options they offer. The atmosphere and architecture are a solid 10/10, the service is 10/10, and the food presentation is also 10/10. However, the food itself was a bit of a letdown. Since it was my wife’s birthday, we chose not to say anything. While I’d still recommend this place for the experience and ambiance, I don’t think I’d return for a second visit.

We stopped in here for dinner one night on a recent holiday from Australia, and I am so glad we did! Lovely ambience, staff were friendly and just the right amount of attentive. Our waitress gave great recommendations, the cocktails were delicious, as was the wine. We had pies - I had the braised beef and it was amazing - easily one of the best pies I have ever eaten and I feel that says a lot from an Australian who loves a good pie. The carrots were also delicious and the petit fours a really nice unexpected touch. Overall, a lovely experience and will hopefully become a tradition for us whenever we travel over there.

We’ve wanted to go here for a long time and it didn’t disappoint! Great, quick service with a smile. The setting in the outdoor area is really beautiful and feels secluded and spacious. We had the scotch egg and chicken salad to start. Both were absolutely delicious. The pies are incredible! Both the potato and cheese one and the pork pie were so well Presented and so tasty. Great selection of drinks too. Highly recommended.

An amazing early dinner experience we visited on a Friday in October 2024. Having our dog with us was an added bonus.. Food was exceptional with their rump of lamb, sticky toffee pudding and apple tart being notably excellent. Our mains were slightly delayed and we were happy to wait. The waiting staff offered us complementary desserts which were lovely. The waiting staff are very attentive and helpful while we were there with our eighty five year old mother. Dinner with drinks and the very kind gesture of the management resulted in £91 per person for a party of three + dog. Would thoroughly recommend the Holborn dinning rooms for a special occasion. Just make sure you book in advance as the place gets busy after 8 pm. If you are driving I would recommend you use the NCP Bloomsbury Square car park about four minutes walk away. Since parking is only available if you have a room reservation at the adjoining Rosewood Hotel.

Here you can taste the real British pie, so good! Also they have a great gin selection and desserts are delicious. The staff is awesome, they made our dining experience perfect. Service was just perfect. The dining hall is very cool. I definitely recommend a visit and I suggest trying the chicken pie, it was our favorite one. We also got the chance to visit the pie room where chef was making pies and they explained a bit how it is done, super!!

Just by a chance, searching for food i stumbled upon this place. Immediately, the pies called my attention. Rocío, the very attentive waitress informed me that they were a House specialty. And my god they were, the BEST pie i have eaten in my life. The pie, the scottish egg, the drinks, nothing was off and everything was simply superb. An absolut must of London i dare say.

As a family of five with a couple of big pie fans in the mix, this place did not disappoint. The pies were sizeable and very filling, and went well with the side options. We enjoyed a few starters to begin with and followed the pies off with dessert. The restaurant wasn’t very busy but had a pleasant atmosphere. Staff were warm, welcoming and friendly. We were well looked after by our waiter Christos.

We had dinner here twice while visiting London. While the food was great, our server, Andrea, was amazing and made our meals a truly wonderful experience. He had excellent suggestions when we asked for recommendations (the pork pie is delicious!) and was knowledgeable not just about the Holborn's menu, but also about the area in general and had fantastic ideas for other places to try out. We enjoyed the food immensely, but Andrea elevated everything to exceptional. Definitely plan to return when we visit again.

If you’re looking for elevated British cuisine, this is it - traditional food with HQ ingredients and modern twist. British pie has never been that tasty. It’s a place where you can get a British cheese plate and even British wine (didn’t know it existed 😅). And it has such a nice atmosphere! Service was great too, we were constantly checked on taken care of. Will definitely come back again.

The pies were chef’s kiss !! Every fine knot and cut can be seen on the pie, its a piece of flavourful edible art. We walked in on early sunday evening without a reservation and no wait at all. Big shout out to our warm and friendly server Adele.

One of the best dinners we had while in London. The food is sensational at this establishment. Interior is warm and inviting - perfect for a long and lazy indulgent dinner. Our waitress Sylwia was amazing - flawless service, helpful with explanations and genuinely friendly person. She’s a true professional. Wednesday night (the night we went) has the Beef Wellington special, be sure to arrive early during service - around 6pm if you’re keen for this as portions are limited. The scotch egg, rabbit + pork pate en croute and lamb shoulder pie are all incredible. Oh and the coffee praline tart was the best dessert to finish off with, it was very good. Definitely not a cheap dinner, but worth every dollar on all fronts. 👌🏽

Food and ambience very good, very good location right by Holborn station. The entrance is on the side, close to the entrance to the hotel. We got the beef wellington which was amazing. Potatoes and gravy great too but 3 potatoes was a very small portion. Beef wellington was a special but we weren’t sure of the price or what was in it as it wasn’t written down anywhere. It was really good though and tasty. Bill was around £100 for two

The place where pie experts reside! We had the scotch egg, griddled tiger prawn and charcuterie board as starter and it was superb. For mains we had the chicken pie, pork pie amongst the 4 of us and the truffle parmesan Fries and some peas on the side, all were excellent. I have also enjoyed a few cocktails including a cornish martini and an expresso martini. I can't wait for my next Sunday lunch there and looking forward to trying the mutton pie.

The food is delicious. The breakfast Cumberland saysage is cooked perfectly--crispy outside, juicy delicious inside. Would not recommend black pudding or fresh squeezed orange juice out of season. Pudding was bitter and orange juice overly sour and tart. Doesn't take away from the top class experience though. Servers were on top of it and very friendly. Next day: quinoa porridge and scrambled eggs with added truffle. All great, but the truffle didn't have taste or aroma, so the eggs tasted as though they had nothing additional on them. Which was still delicious and a perfectly cooked medium scramble. Just save some money with the truffle :) The drinks are even better! Henrico and Ambra made our night at the bar. We've gone back each night since to see them! I'm pregnant, so Henrico made up a Virginia mocktail and added some extra, personalized twists to make it tasty. My husband doesn't tend to like gin but wanted to try it (since there are so many gin options at the bar), so Ambra investigated what he does tend to like and made him some concoction of citrus cordial (that she made herself) and the house gin. It was a hit! Kind, friendly, and clearly go above and beyond!! Go see them ☺️

Gorgeous solo experience, with impeccable service across the board, from front of house to bar to table. Drinks at the bar while I waited were expertly crafted and the bartender clearly cared about making them right. The celeriac and pear soup was divine, and perfectly balanced and bright, while the game (venison, duck liver and pheasant) pie was decadent almost, but not quite, to the point of excess. Perfect meal.

V
Vincent So

A good vibe for breakfast. Had some hotel guests and non-guests coming in for a meal. Relaxing and you were left to your own devices, but service was available. I also then went back for lunch which was nice. On the weekend they have a Sunday roast which I highly recommend. Only criticism is that for the lunch service (breakfast was fine), there was a bit of pressure to order more. Whether that be a commercial motive or just over zealous wait staff - I'm not sure.

Visited for a late weekday lunch about a month ago. Everything was perfect including: the elegant dining room; professional, friendly service; outstanding food (the menu representing everything delicious about British cuisine); and fabulous cocktails. The perfect British cuisine dining experience in London! Sad that this was the last meal on our last day in London -- otherwise we would have been back multiple times!

This week I was lucky enough to experience a private evening in the pie room, starting with Gin tasting and then continuing through dinner, the pies were excellent and in general the food was very tasty, I had the beef steak pie and the banoffee dessert and would definitely recommend both. Special thanks for the excellent waitress (sadly I didn't catch her name) for recommending the best food and just a high level of service and care. Our Gin tasting was also great with a tour around the flavours of the UKs Gin industry and some learnings around the history of Gin. The Pie Room, the Holborn Dining Room and the Rosewood London all combine with their skills and trams to make the experience first class!

We heard great things about the Holborn dining room (particularly the pies). We were accepted as a walk-in for a late lunch. The staff and the venue we're first class, as was the aperitif cocktails and wine selection. Ordered a range of starters and a beef pie for main (5*) and fish n chips (3.5*), which we're all top notch. I thought the range of food could have been more elevated given the gandness of the venue. But overall a great experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the Holborn Dining Rooms. The vegan pie was first class. The service was exceptional. We were looked after very well throughout the evening. We will visit again soon :).

V

Food was amazing service was terrible. The forgot about us and we had to flag them down after being ignored. Which was odd because there’s so many servers and after we were served our food they kept coming to ask the same questions like do you want more wine? The server also made it a point to say how that the scotch egg would take a while so fries will come out first but then the fries ended up being the last to be served. However, the scotch egg was amazing definitely the best I’ve had. The bone marrow and beef pie was so rich and buttery. I never liked pie before because they’re always too dry but this changed my mind.

Came to try the pies, they didn’t disappoint, pies were flavourful and well presented. We got some sides but the portions were small. Overall the food and decor was good, easy location to get to. It is an expensive meal. Would recommend coming to try the pies once.

Exactly what you expect for the Rosewood. Classy and obviously not cheap. Was spoken to a rudely first by one of the managers when wanting to amend the time of the booking but once we say down and ordered tea to start, he kept out of the way. The other staff were friendlier. The burger and truffle and parmesan fries were delicious. Had the burger medium to well done

The great stuff = The grilled courgette and Mac n cheese were outstanding! My friend said the cod fillet was brilliant too! Dessert was good too however I’d hoped for a warm+cold dessert option on the menu as I like the mix of the two temperatures in my desserts 🤷🏿‍♀️ Service is what you expect for a dinning sure as this hence my 4 stars! The not so great stuff = the staff too so long to take our order even as we attempted to get their attention a few times! But I wouldn’t hold this against them, looked busy for a Sunday!

T
Tom Shaw

Pie is good, not sure it's worth the price. Service is mixed, some friendly others less so. 15% default service charge means you are paying £35 for a small pie.

Lacking service from our main waiter, which we later changed, but superb food. We had an early Saturday night dinner. Loved the Sourdough - one of the best ones we had! Ordered the chicken pie, which was excellent and the burger was quite good as well, although only offered as medium well as a minimum. Slow roasted lamb was also a success. The desserts were amazing, in particular the chocolate cake. Would come back again.

M

We visited for a pre-theatre meal. The restaurant was almost empty, but at that time during the early week it’s expected. The restaurant is well known for its pie room. However we didn’t have enough time to order the pie. Instead we had suet pudding with mashed potatoes and beautifully curated cocktails. The cherry dessert was our favourite. The service was exceptional and in lined with a 5 star hotel. The rosewood hotel is a wonderful secret hidden oasis in the middle of central London. The dishes were pricey, but expected

S
Simon Burton

Great location however the food was average at best, we tried initially to just have a drink and relax, however every 5 minutes prompted are we ready to order (place was quiet as you’ll see in my photos) items we ordered didn’t turn up, so when we flagged this eventually appeared about when we had finished eating, wine had been clearly opened for a while so tasted of vinegar, Guy who served us was disinterested to say the least. For a meal of 4 people, £373 I’m not sure I would recommend this place.

Came here for early dinner before a show. Nice restaurant interior. Starters were good. Chicken pie - Would prefer more sauce. I think I had better pie at a hotel restaurant when I went to Yorkshire. Veal - good flavour from the sauce but small portion and the meat doesn't have much flavour. Chips were nice and crispy. Bread was too sour for my liking... Cocktails were lovely 🍸🍹 Good service Nice restaurant interior and atmosphere I wouldn't order the same mains again. Thinking about coming back to give the beef wellington a go.

Heard great things about the pie room so we came here to try it out. We got a few starters, the tomato salad was delicious and refreshing. Scotch eggs were tasty, the egg was nice and gooey. Pate en croute was also nice. The pies we got were the chicken and mushroom and beef ones, the beef pie was quite dry inside and had a bitter taste which we weren’t too keen on, and couldn’t taste any blue cheese either. Chicken and mushroom pie was slightly better but it wasn’t something worth raving about. The battered haddock was nice, had a good crispy shell. Texture was great. The tartare sauce was bland. Chips and truffle & Parmesan fries were delicious, perfectly fried, fluffy and crisp. Seasoning was excellent. Mash potato was standard. Both desserts were got, sacher and custard tart were nice to end the meal with. Service was superb and staff were friendly and tentative.

Been there for valentines dinner with my husband and our female friends. Environment: Combining reclaimed oak, red leather banquettes, and antique copper-topped bar. The lighting is just great for a romantic dinner, and the ambiance is top-notch. Food: Roasted Orkney scallops, rabbit and pistachio pâté en croute, and grilled tiger prawns were the dishes that were ordered for starter. Although they are all delicious, my particular favorite is the tiger prawn. As a main course, we shared sirloin steak, a shrimp burger, and steamed stone bass. My favorite dish is the shrimp burger, which consists of a crispy shrimp patty that complements the avocado puree. Although the portion may not appear excessively large, it does in fact leave you quite full; we have not even completed the chips that we ordered with the main course, and we are all bloated. Service: The entire staff that attended to our needs was exceptionally cordial; in fact, one member engaged in a brief conversation with me while guiding me to the restroom. There was only one thing that greatly dissatisfied us: Despite requesting a sofa seat twice and being informed by the staff member that all tables were reserved, we observed that, from 17:00 to 20:00, at least eight two-person seats just on our side were not being occupied. There may be policies in place to address that. However, work should undoubtedly be put into table availability management. Please indicate your seat preference during the booking process and call to confirm.

We came for the pies! My friend loves pies, I decided to give her a treat at the Holborn dining room. She had a pork pie with fries (extra charge). Turned out the pie was overcooked, dry and very salty. The portion is small and it costs £28. It is definitely not the best pie we have tried and I think not worth it. The place is alright as it locates in Rosewood hotel. However the table is small and pretty close to next table. I had octopus carpaccio to start with, great presentation, good portion. The citrus purée was too intense and strong that overpowered the umami of the octopus. For the main, I had grilled miso glazed aubergine. Again, beautifully decorated, balanced flavours. But the aubergine would taste better if it is pan-fried with olive oil. Overall, disappointing, especially the pie. won’t come back again for what I had paid for.

Great restaurant, spacious and family friendly. Cocktails were correct. Lunch menu has a variety of options from fish, poultry and meat. They do have oysters which were delicious. Very professional and friendly service. Food comes pretty quickly, with good flavours. Probably not for all budgets but good to go to celebrate a special occasion. Wine list has a good variety of reds, sparkling and white wines for all budgets.

2 issues: First, I ordered the Cheese and Potato pie. Nowhere on the menu does it mention that there’s plenty of rosemary in the ingredients, which makes the pie taste a lot like rosemary, which I hate. I ended up eating it and hating it. When an ingredient is so overpowering it must be mentioned on the menu. Plus, there was no cheese flavor. Second, we ordered mashed potatoes and buttered greens as sides. We first got buttered greens and a side green salad. I told the waiter and he said no charge for the green salad and quickly brought the mashed potatoes. However, after we paid and left I looked at the bill and we had been charged for all 3 sides, including the green salad that we did not order. Underwhelming at best.
