Avis sur Kahani London
My wife and I went for the bottomless brunch with Prosecco and it was worth every penny of the £65 a person - the bubbles were free flowing and the food was fantastic! The menu lets you try a variety of dishes and a great mix of vegetarian and meat dishes - there is so much food so come hungry! We loved the level of spice (just like in any Indian home), the staff, service and level of attention and knowledge was some of the best we've experienced anywhere - special shout out to Shahrukh who is a true credit to Kahani. Hidden away off Sloane Sq, Kahani is well worth the visit. Cannot recommend this place enough and cannot wait to return to try some more extraordinary Indian food cooked by the magicians in their kitchen.
Tried the tasting menu at Kahani and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The kebabs and mains were delicious — special favourites were the mushroom gilauti, the chaat, and the incredibly comforting butter chicken in the mains. The desserts were creative with interesting flavour combinations that rounded off the meal beautifully. Chef Peter Joseph and his team cooked and served an absolute treat. Warm hospitality, fantastic flavours, and a memorable evening overall. Highly recommend!
Had a lovely bottomless brunch with my partner ahead of her birthday! The staff were great and very attentive, especially Sharoq!! The food was amazing and we got to try so many different tasty dishes ranging from veggie dishes to meat dishes! 10/10 would recommend and will deffo come back!! We absolutely loved this experience!! ☺️
We enjoyed our anniversary lunch at Kahani using a Virgin Express voucher. The food was full of flavour, completely vegetarian, and really interesting combinations and creations. Expect small portion sizes, a stream of flavours over six or seven courses, all beautifully decorated in a lovely central London location. Good decor and great service. They adjusted some of the menu items for my wife as she cannot eat mushrooms!!
My husband gifted me a voucher for my 30th birthday for a tasting menu at Kahani and it did not disappoint. From the moment we walked in I knew the service would be impeccable and the food was simply delicious. There wasn’t a single dish we didn’t enjoy. So so worth the money. The best dinner we’ve had in a long time and such a perfect way to end my birthday celebrations. All that’s left to say is, thank you!
I visited Kahani in London for their Thursday jazz evening and had a truly pleasant night. The live musicians created a warm, lively atmosphere that paired beautifully with the restaurant’s stylish vibe. The menu offers a modern twist on Indian cuisine, particularly the Paneer Tikka Masala, which I highly recommend. While the dishes are clearly designed with a Western palate in mind, they’re still full of character. Service was attentive throughout, making the evening smooth and enjoyable.
Visited Kahani Restaurant for Diwali Set Menu. It was reasonably priced at £80/- per heard which was comparatively on a lower price range as compared to the Mayfair Indian restaurants. Set menu was great and you can appreciate some of the menu options in the pictures below. The scallops / Monkfish / Lamb chops all were excellent and delicious. The cooking standards were high and food was great/ tasty and not super spicy. The flavours were just beautiful. Service was excellent too. The wines selection was fantastic and we had Ayala to begin and followed it up with a Riesling which went well with all the food options. We had a great time. Verdict 5/5 Meal for 2 is easily around 200 if you have drinks / cocktails - on par with central London prices
It's like Indian street food with a luxury twist, we loved it. The crab was delicious, the curries (fish) were excellent - one creamy one spicy and the cocktails were sooo good. It's well priced as well - for 2 starters, 2 curries, 1 naan, 2 sparkling water, 2 cocktails and dessert - £155 including service charge. Oh and they have a live jazz band on Thursday's so worth booking for that day of the week.
Excellent. Good vibes upon entering. The room is lovely with no bad tables. Nice view into the kitchen. Waiters we're very friendly and efficient. Two choices of tasting menu but we went a la carte. Wine list is top notch, weirdly a very limited beer menu. Food was both exciting and extremely tasty. Every dish was excellent. Recommend for special night or just a good meal.
Amazing dinner! We took the tasting menu, 4 courses with the wine pairing! The dishes were authentic and delicious, very well made, flavourful, interesting combination of ingredients!! portions were pretty big too and the australian wine paired with the first course was really great. We enjoyed dessert a lot and they even brought us a little extra dessert for the birthday we were celebrating. The staff is lovely and caring, we asked them to replace the shrimp since one of us is allergic to them and they were very kind, loved the vibe too! We had a reservation for 2 people at 20.15, despite it says on google that the restaurant closes at 20.45. Highly recommended!
Kahani, just steps from Sloane Square, offers a sophisticated twist on Indian dining that feels both elevated and deeply satisfying. We chose the vegetarian three-course menu, and each dish was thoughtfully composed — inventive without losing its comforting soul. The Gujarat yellow pea dhal chaat was a vibrant opener. The Achari Paneer surprised us with its exquisite balance — smoky Kashmiri chilli and tenderstem broccoli played beautifully along with the mince mushroom galouti. Classic sides like Achari Baingan, saag aloo, khumb matar, and dal makhani were well-executed and appropriately spiced. The only slight letdown was the bread offering — while roti was served, we found ourselves wishing for a choice of naan to better complement the creamy lentils and vibrant mains. To finish perfectly, The kulfi platter — saffron, and pistachio — was a delightful finish, both nostalgic and refreshing. Service was gracious and attentive throughout, and the ambiance — modern yet intimate — made for a relaxed evening. Would we return? Absolutely. Next time, we’ll be hoping for a garlic naan cameo.
Cannot fault our experience, and it was a very special time for my mum's birthday. We opted for the 6 course vegetarian tasting menu, and every single dish was SO good . It came with a complimentary pre course starter & a birthday dessert plate. We bought some cocktails which I would also recommend. Great food, atmosphere and customer service. Thank you to Akil and the team for a lovely time.
Exceptional Group Dining Experience at Kahani We hosted a dinner at Kahani in October for a group of 26, and the whole evening was exceptional. Shoaib and Sharuq took fantastic care of us, no small feat with such an enthusiastic crowd — and made everything feel seamless and welcoming. We chose the Dawat menu, which was a real highlight. The Lamb Seekh kebab was beautifully done, the Chicken Makhani was outstanding, and we finished with a decadent chocolate flan. Each course was perfectly paired: a white Rioja with the first, a Tempranillo with the second, and a Taylor’s Vintage Port with the tart. The food, wine, and service worked together so well that it was genuinely hard to leave at the end of the night. Our guests were equally impressed and sent wonderful feedback afterwards, including: • “Excellent restaurant, food was superb, staff so attentive and friendly” • “Food, ambience, location – all amazing” • “Great food, venue, service excellent” • “Kahani – great choice” • “Good restaurant, impressive, nice ambience” • “Excellent restaurant” • “I enjoyed Kahani. The food was very good” • “Good choice of restaurant” • “Food and ambience was excellent” • “Top marks all around and felt like the venue was just for us!” A memorable evening all round — highly recommended.
Fantastic meal at Kahani yesterday evening. A great all round experience. We were attending a carol concert in the area and Kahani was very close. From being greeted at the door to the end of the meal the staff were very attentive and friendly. Our waiter explained the menu and recommended that we try dishes from each section of the a la carte menu. They also have a tasting menu with paired wines if preferred. We had the soft shelled crab, chaat with tamarind chutney, marinated tandoori broccoli, king prawn vepudu (beautiful!) and Khumb matar, with rice and delicious peshwari naan bread. I had a glass of malbec and my husband had a mango lassi. The food is of excellent quality and it was lovely to have dishes we haven't encountered elsewhere. Would certainly come back on a special occasion.
Thoroughly lived up to the glowing reviews. We ordered the trio of chicken tike, also gobi, mangaloean chicken curry and steamed rice. Every bite was delicious. Lovely tender chunks of chicken, wonderful yellow tomato chutney and a fantastic curry sauce. Attentive service, beautiful decor and a great ambience 🌟
From the moment we entered the restaurant until we left we felt incredibly welcomed and the service was impeccable. The waiters were outstandingly friendly and accomodating yet not pushy. The food was of exceptional quality and made of fresh ingredients. The spices were combined very well and nothing was too spicy though it was all seasoned to the point. We enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere when more and more guests arrived. The front of the house staff were funny, helpful and fast without stressing or pushing it. Kahani will surely have us again and we are ready to be likewise overwhelmed. Thank you for everything.
We celebrated my wife’s birthday at Kahani in London and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Opting for the tasting Dawat menu, every dish was a delight. The berry papdi chaat was a tangy and delicious starter, while the monkfish impressed with its perfectly balanced marinade. The Guinea fowl fillets and tandoori lamb chops were rich and flavorful, showcasing the chef’s skill. The grand finale, the chocolate delight dessert, truly lived up to its name. A memorable evening with exceptional food. Few things which could be improved are a) Reduced tables as the space isn’t quite big and can get a bit loud, b) Replacing Grilled scallops with something else on the tasting menu as this dish was decent but not great.
What a night at Kahani! 🤩 Michelin-starred chef Peter Joseph has created something truly special. The live jazz on Thursdays sets the most incredible ambiance. And the food? Unforgettable. We devoured the Berry Papdi Chaat, quintessential Tandoori Chicken Kebab, aromatic Hyderabadi Parda Biryani, luscious Chicken Makhani, comforting Dal, and a fantastic Bread Basket. Such an elevated experience, it even fueled some deep discussions! If you're looking for a top-notch evening, Kahani is it. 🎶🍽️ #Kahani #LondonFood #IndianCuisine #FineDining #LiveMusic #FoodPhotography #MichelinRestaurant
Truly remarkable restaurant! The food was lush... We ordered veg and non veg starter, all nice and chicken makhani and prawn curry for mains and it was amazing! Highly rate this restaurant. They also had this nice berry chutney, when we asked how they made it the head chef came to talk us through how he made it. Top service. All the waiters were really pleasant and attentive. Looking forward to returning. Can't recommend it enough.
I really can’t fault the service or the food! Not a single mistake. Unlike other Indian restaurants, this food was light and not too oily. Beautiful vibe and excellent food. We went for the set menu which was superb. The chicken tikka was the best chicken I’ve ever tasted! If I really had to pick one downside it would probably be the ladies where the sink tabletop was a bit wet but not dirty. Highly recommend this place for a good Indian with excellent service and ambiance
I was awarded a virgin experience voucher as part of my 20 years long service as a bus driver & my wife & I planned a weekend away in London so we could use this. We were both made to feel so welcome by all the staff at Kahani who were very professional & curtesy towards us during our whole meal, we had opted for the bottomless brunch which consisted of 6 courses ( see attached photos of some of the dishes) each more than plenty for the 2 of us to share, with the option of more of each course if we could manage it. We found each course, presented beautifully & with a full explanation from our server, to be tasting so full in depth of flavour & we were very satisfied with our experience & full & content at the end of our meal. Great choice of wines, that our glasses were constantly filled for us with the attention to detail from the wonderful staff. Without finding this place via the Virgin experience gifts we probably would never had visited but so thankful we did. We both felt we were giving a 5 star experience & would definitely recommend to anyone.
We had a wonderful bottomless brunch here, I would highly recommend and we will be back again, as we enjoyed it so much. The service and attention were excellent. We had the vegetarian bottomless brunch and my boyfriend did not miss meat at all during this lunch, he was very impressed with all the dishes. My favourites were the starters, the grill and also the dessert. The main was delicious too but we were starting to slow down at this stage. Highly recommend.
I took my dad to Kahani for the bottomless brunch and let me just say... WOW. From the stunning building itself to the elegant decor, from the politeness, friendliness and professionalism of the staff, and to the delicious and well-presented dishes. Kahani was a truly amazing experience from start to finish. This was a special birthday treat for my dad and we could both not fault our experience at all! In my experience, it is particularly hard to find an Indian brunch so if you are interested and enjoy this cuisine I would highly recommend it. Special thank you to our waiters Akil and Sharuq, they couldn't have been more attentive and welcoming to us.
Had a fantastic time at Kahani. Customer service was absolutely faultless and the staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We all had the tasting menu and the food was delicious. There wasn't a single course we didn't like and the wine pairing worked perfectly. Wonderful flavours and a wonderful evening. I would highly recommended for a relaxed and pleasant evening with friends or family.
We had a fantastic experience at Kahani and we were very happy we chose this place for a nice, relaxing date night last Saturday The service was top notch with great attention to detail. We also appreciated the high number of staff present which ensured that you don't have to wait long to get their attention or drive. The food was fantastic. I would say it's on a similar level to Dishoom (which I love) but some dishes can be hit or miss. Be aware that the portions are relatively small so you will need to order quite a few to get satisfied. In our case, we ordered about 12 small plates🍽️ (starters) because we wanted to try more items rather than committing to larger mains Our favourites: the tandoori lamb 🐑 chops and the deep fried softshell crab 🦀 The underwhelming ones: samosas (average) and paneer (a bit bland). The desserts🍨 were surprisingly good as their description didn't do them justice. We also had a green mocktail 🍹called something with "peacock" and it was one of the best ones we ever tried! Their peach mocktail was also amazing! The total bill for everything, including service charge was about £216 💷 Lastly, the vibe and atmosphere of the place was on point. Lovely decor, music not too loud and generally good people thanks to its location in Sloane Square 👌
I had an amazing dining experience at Kahani! The ambience was classy and chic, and the food was absolutely incredible. As someone who loves bold flavors, I found British food quite bland, but Kahani brought my taste buds back to life. I requested extra spice, and they delivered perfectly—it truly felt like authentic Indian cuisine, just as you'd find in Delhi. The hospitality was top-notch, with the staff being incredibly kind and attentive. This has been my best meal in London so far, and I’ll definitely be returning with my family for a special occasion!
We went for the bottomless brunch on Sunday and my goodness, were we impressed! From the moment we sat down and throughout the entire meal the staff were attentive and served us with a real passion for their craft. Although it’s bottomless, I’d be impressed if anyone actually had room to order any additional dishes after the set menu is served to you. It’s scrumptious, full of flavour, and we will absolutely be back again to try their a la carte menu. A particular highlight was the tandoori grilled broccoli with honey and nigella seeds. Definitely worth having!
Food quality is top-notch but quantity, not so. For the price we paid (c.80£ pp - just soft drinks and sharing a dessert), we could probably be fuller in other places. But I’d recommend to at least try it. I’d definitely come back for the swordfish starter.
Had a birthday celebration here! We had a private dining room and the tasting menu. Food and atmosphere was amazing. Staff were attentive. Highly recommend. They even did a special touch of providing an extra special birthday dessert .
A gathering of five celebrating our friendship with a bottomless brunch and an all vegetarian menu. The food was out of this world, beautifully presented and delicious. Vivienne made sure that we had plenty of Prosecco. She was so friendly and made us feel very welcome. Akil’ Sharuq and Antoni also made us feel very welcome. It was so obvious that the staff love working in this restaurant and that really makes a difference to the diners. We will definitely be back to enjoy this cuisine. Thank you most sincerely
Had a lovely dinner at Kahani. We went for the 3 course menu and most of the dishes were super tasty and plentiful. We couldn't finish a lot of our food and got it packed to enjoy for the next day :) The star of the show was the daal makhani, chicken tikka, saga aloo and the desserts (especially fig and guava kulfi). Being an Indian, I'm a little snooty when it comes to Indian food in London but this is probably one of the best Indian food we had in London. The service was absolutely amazing and a big shout out to Akil for his amazing hospitality. Though a bit pricey, I'll definitely recommend this place if you are looking for an authentic Indian experience.
Had such a great Dinner at Kahani. The food was full of flavour, probably the best Indian we Had in London. Also our Server Akil did an amazing Job, really attentive and friendly! We will definitely come Back!
Birthday dinner at Kahani, a modern Indian restaurant in Knightsbridge serving bold flavours and beautifully presented dishes. We started with the Pani Puri, a generous portion of six pieces, crisp and full of spice. The Konkani Soft-Shell Crab was incredible: perfectly fried, full of flavour, and one of those dishes you immediately want to order again. The Samosa Platter (lamb, potato, and chicken) was golden, comforting, and well seasoned. The Swordfish & Octopus Curry was a standout, rich, fragrant, and layered with flavour, and a surprise to find it made with coconut milk, which worked beautifully. The swordfish was incredibly soft and tender, almost melting into the sauce. Paired perfectly with naan and tandoori roti fresh from the oven. Drinks were nicely presented. We had the ‘K’ Star Martini and the New Fashioned from the seasonal menu. Both were well balanced, though they could have been a touch stronger given they were house specials. Beautiful setting, attentive service, and refined cooking that still feels warm and comforting. Definitely worth a visit for a special occasion.
Service was great, polite staff, lovely interiors, not too noisy and tasty food. Although it's a different unique take on Indian cuisine so some dishes may not meet everyones taste buds. But overall a great experience from entrance to end. Would recommend you keep 2 to 3 hours available if you're trying the Six Course Tasting Menu, as each course is served separately and gets bigger in portion sizes as you go.
An excellent brunch at the Kahani Restaurant. The cuisine is Indian and offers a variety of regional dishes. The main dining room is fairly large and situated on the lower ground floor. The food was very good especially the vegetarian dishes. The service was both friendly and efficient. We attended for the Bottomless Brunch which although a little pricey was certainly well worth it.
We discovered this place after searching for a good but different Indian restaurant that we hadn't explored previously. The ambience was good. We were welcomed well and the service was friendly, attentive and thoughtful. The starter was different and nice, so was the dessert but we personally did not find the mains all that interesting. It might just be us, but the meaty dishes felt too rich and rice wanting a lot more love. All in all a decent experience. Credit cards accepted including American express.
Lovely restaurant, good service and food was overall very good. They have a vegan menu, albeit there was no vegan yogurt to serve with the Biriyani. The food was very tasty especially the broccoli and Biriyani. The chana masala was too hot and spicy- almost inedible for me and my friend. I would go back.
Went for Lunch. Very quiet with only a couple of other tables with guests. Staff are friendly, attentive and know the food being offered and happy to advise when asked. We had scallops and samosa starters. Both were very nice with the chicken samosa less tasty than the other two. The mains were Kashmiri Gosht and Pigeon. While tasty it does seem that there is a drop in the standard of cooking/taste. Most Every time we have visited Kahani dishes tasted different and elevated tastes. This time they were fine but not sublime. Were we holding on to a fading memory!!
Incredibly disappointed by the service at Kahani. We ordered a Lassi, which was served to us without any mention of a 'minimum order' or policy. Moments later, a staff member told us we couldn't have it alone and literally took the drink back off the table. When we expressed our confusion, they claimed it was meant for another tray, which felt like a poor excuse to cover up a very rude interaction. Being treated like we weren't 'worthy' of a drink is an insult. Will not be returning
