Lovely place. Okay priced. Good and friendly staff. Authentic South Indian food as well as some fusion innovative dishes on the menu too. Been here twice and love their salted lassi. Highly recommended if you want to have tasty south indian dishes.
Rasa never fails to deliver. It is authentic and delicious every time we go there. It is a must-visit for anyone who claims to like Indian food and is looking for a new experience you can't get anywhere else in London (in my experience at least).
Excellent Keralan Food. We loved the Dosa, the Biryani was also surprisingly good! The other curries (many of them vegatarian) are also really good. They have a student discount, but are still a bit ore on the pricier side, also check out their restaurant in North London.
really fresh, delicious, quality Indian food from Kerala in a low key but pleasant restaurant . I’ve been here many times over the years and it never disappoints. Everything here is delicious from the papadam snacks to start to the really interesting vegetarian options. The Mango and Banana curry is sublime. The food is full of interesting and tangy unusual flavours. Feels fresh and healthy. Is good value in a central west end location and in a different league entirely.
Authentic South Indian food. The team there is great, will take time to look after you. I love the fact that the owner also runs live-in farm type outfit in Kerala that supports the local community. A great place in a surprising location (something decent off Oxford st!!)
Amazing, genuine Indian food. Especially the seafood platters were really tasty. Great service and pleasant staff. Appropiate wait time between the courses and reasonable prices. I will definitely go back here next time I'm in London.
A seriously amazing place! Food was absolutely brilliant... service was next level. The owner himself was doing all the table setting and serving etc. He made time to chat to us about our meal whilst telling us about Kerala. Beautiful atmosphere in the restaurant. Had a great evening, couldn't recommend it more. Will definitely be visiting again!!
The food is authentic and the service is excellent. I am a visitor and tried a couple of Indian restaurants around this area. The aroma and taste that lingered from Rasa brought me back to try more varieties. I went a second time in three days. It has a clean environment. The manager and other people are very courteous and friendly. I highly recommend Rasa to anyone who want authentic Indian food along with good service.
These guys are amazing Wonderful food. Completely unlike any curry I have *ever* eaten. Keralan Nair Cuisine as good as I have tasted in India Well-done, Das. You are a culinary genius!
My partner was getting some treatments in the beauty salon next door and Rasa smelt lovely; so we went in... Very glad we did, really authentic south Indian cuisine - well worth it if you're in the area (probably worth booking too)...
This place was great for a recent date night. I ordred the crab (I've never done this before - such a messy eating experience!) and he ordered a chicken curry dish with paratha. We also got the pre-meal snacks and chutneys - oh my was that a lot of (absolutely delicious) food! The staff were great and incredibly accommodating - even when we changed our mains oder last-minute because the food at the table next to us just looks so appetising.
Gorgeous food, lovely location. They make the amazing mango curry better than any other place in London. Must try the coconut rice, is divine!
I would definitely recommend this Restaurant anytime or day of the week. The food is absolutely Devine you have a great choice of non veg has well as veg the Rasa platter is ( A Must) in this establishment and the Dosa are mouthwatering and breathtaking it definately forfills your appetite. There is also great choice for those who are vegans on the menu option I must says there Meat and fish curries don't look bad either Definitely complimented with the Scrumptious Layered parathas. This place is a definate thumbs up ....👍 there is a great choice of wine selection for those like to indulge In there drinks.
Very enjoyable and makes a nice change from a traditional British curry. Instead some light, spicy, southern Indian and coastal dishes, dosas and interesting bread (no naan here). A good selection of vegetarian, meat and fish, so everybody can enjoy. The service is friendly and helpful, and the place is very clean and what, including the loos.
I love the food here went twice three years apart , there is a really good variation of both vegetarian and meat options available. The service is very quick and you feel relaxed to enjoy the meal. The mango lassi is amazing!!!! I had two
I've been to Rasa twice and absolutely loved it both times. As others said though, I came for a dosa and it can hardly go wrong. My dosas were massive and really yummy, they came with delicious coconut chutney and Sambar. We had pickles for starters - I'm usually not a fan but those are fantastic. Having lived in south India I thought this was extremely good, traditional South Indian food. I'd recommend to anyone without hesitation!
The food here is good. Had been here with my friends. The service is also good and fast. We did not have to wait for long time. It is a typical South Indian Kerala restaurant. The food arrived very quickly. Vegetarian food is available as well. The price is reasonable. The location is pretty ideal since it's near to bond street. I would recommend this restaurant.
Very happy with my choice. I have read most comments after I came in and was a bit afraid of what I got myself into. The food is grand, not tasteless, not small portions. Eventually some of it lacks a bit of balance, but not too much. Service was fast and amiable, although I wouldn’t call it 5 stars. Quite pleased in general
The fish curry was amazing. A good place to catch up with friends, the staff are very attentive and genuine, decent portion size, the food flavour is a bit hit and miss, some dishes were brilliant others average. The menu has a lot of local dishes instead of the mainstream, which is a nice change.
It wasn't our first choice but the other Indian restaurants in Mayfair were fully booked and that's a good thing because the six of us had a wonderful time with great food and great service at a reasonable price. The location wasn't bad and the restaurant was small but tasteful in decor. I was the host for out of towners and not that experienced in Indian cuisine, but others in my party were. They said the South Indian cuisine was very interesting and tasteful. It made me look good for suggesting it and next time I will call Rasa first for a reservation.
Mostly South Indian Kerala food here. I had the non-veg feast. There was ample food which was mostly good - I didn't care for the fish dish - it seemed to have mostly thai flavours. The lamb dish easily made up for the fish one. Service was a tad slow but adequate. Definitely need a reservation.
Here's the deal. You are in the Gold Coast. You want good Indian food. You don't want to pay a fortune. The food is authentic, tasty, and clean. Plenty of spice without trying to cloy or cover. Atmosphere is normal people. Remember where you are at: The most expensive real estate on earth and this is better than good food. It Won't bankrupt you and it is delivered in a nice atmosphere. My service was helpful, attentive and efficient. Btw, I almost never eat dessert so can't comment on that.
Amazingly authentic Kerala restaurant that serves the tastiest plantain-themed starter and dessert I have had in a long time. The service is good and the range of vegetarian options is very decent. Must go if you feel like having a dollop of south India in your mouth.
Restaurant is tucked away on a small side street but signposted from Oxford street. The restaurant is small but cosy. Although he menu is limited, the food was excellent. Things I'd never seen in traditional restaurants. I chose vegetarian and had difficulty in deciding which one. Service very attentive. Pricier than some but good for a special occasion.
Good Indian restaurant in London Soho district 😋 The atmosphere is not very cozy but the food is not bad 🥘
Nice place, Good food. We had biriyani, Porotta, Chicken curry and chapathi. To be frank the chappathi didn't live up to our expectations. Rest of it was good. The host must be appreciated, Well mannered and helpful staff. Cost wise it's okay not that costly. Recommended from my side
Very nice twist on some of the traditional Indian curries. Good number of vegetarian options as well. Didn't particularly like the beetroot curry, but you can't go wrong in ordering dosa.
Excellent lunch at this small South Indian restaurant. Both veg and non-veg menu which is great. Generally I think the veg dishes are better. Good Masala Dosa. Their paratha is amazing. Also had gluten free options including breads.
Being a Keralite, I believed I should leave a review of my recent 'Vishu Sadhya' at this popular Kerala cuisine in London. If I am paying £25 for a meal I am anticipating a bit more than a plastic leaf. 'Sadhya' was incomplete since many traditional curries were missing! Staff were friendly and provided good attention to our table at all times.
Beautiful place in a lovely neighbourhood, great service, super professional. Had a great night with some family here last weekend. Ordered many different Indian dishes and I cannot be to objective since I just came back from 14 days in India, so I think nothing was too tasty. Went for different ginger prawns dishes plus the big pancake and my gf had lamb that was a bit tasteless too. Shame, I will come back maybe some other time tasting something else.
Good South Indian food, lot of hype, expensive. That's how I would describe it. Close to Oxford street. The service we received was very good. There is no mistaking that. If it was not for the price, I would have given this place a higher rating. Wash rooms available.
Great starters, okay Dosa, mediocre mains. In general vegetarian and seafood better than meat dishes. Excellent Dahl. Very limited breads and rides. Explore the vegetarian dishes for best experience. Service was good on a fairly quiet night. Prices good for West End area. Would go again but In my own and pick dishes carefully.
I did not like the food here at all! Maybe it was way too traditionally south indian for me. It is very very rarely that I do not enjoy South Indian food at a restaurant, but I just did not like anything we ordered. We started with a Rasa platter (which turned out to be the worst part of the meal). The food wasn't stale or undercooked, I just did not like their 'selection' in the starters. The main course (curry with appams) was alright, but not enough to entice me to come back and visit this place again.
That rating is only for the food, the service was pathetic!! The server was not at all attentive and didn't treat us well. I was here with my mom only because of a recommendation but I don't think I will come here again. Our food took forever to arrive. They didn't communicate that it would take that long, and we requested for sambar and it took the guy ages to bring it. We were basically done and ready to pay our bill. The prices are high if compared to other comparable places. You are better off going to Dishoom for far better food and experience!!
I have to say that my girlfriend and I felt as if we were forgotten in the corner they put us in. We had to wait for more than 45 minutes before getting our order. The service was basic and no apology was given to us. Food tasted ok but very spicy (which makes it hard to fully enjoy for me). Chicken curry was good but the lamb felt "dry". We did not have a good time overall.
Having visited other Rasa restaurants over the years, I expected this one to deliver a new, fresh version of Indian non-vegetarian cuisine. Alas, it was a big disappointment. Ordinary sauces on ordinary meats, including dry tasteless chicken breast meat (dark thigh is much tastier!) and tough lamb.
Me and my wife decided to give this restaurant a try during Valentine's day. I have reserved a table online and received a confirmation to my mail as well which was good. We have reached the place at the booked time and got assigned a table in ten minutes. We got served with our drinks and some complementary snacks in ten minutes as well. We have been told there is only set menu available for the day, even though it wasn't mentioned while we booked the reservation. But it is quite understandable on a special day to make serving faster and efficient it is sensible to have a reduced menu. Unfortunately we had to wait one hour (08:40pm to 09:40pm) to get served with part of our starters. Some lucky customers next to our table got served bit quickly though. After finishing the starters it was again a long wait for the main course. Mean time they have forgotten part of our starters and had to remind them thrice about it before getting served that too after main course arrived. Our main course arrived around 10:20pm. From food perspective it was average, Dosa and Prawn dish was good, soup was bland. Chicken curry had extra corriander flavour, Lamb dish was again good. Puttu was bit dry and Paratta was good. They have served cabbage thoran and Beetroot pachadi which traditionally does not pair with any of the food served as part of set menu. Dessert was good. I do not think there is enough thought given on deciding this set menu. Interestingly our next table got served with items off the set menu, which they have told us not available. Bill came quickly. In a nutshell, average food, slow and inconsistent service, expensive menu, our bad timing for the visit (VDay) made it an overall time to forget. The restaurant is located in a good place though. I haven't considered yet on providing them a second chance.
Food was delicious and amazing. However, sadly the service from the male waiters and manger was really poor. We ordered from a set menu, which was never made available to us. We realised as the meal continued that we only received some of the dishes that other diners were given. Only when we challenged 4 of the staff, the remaining dishes from our main course was made available, but our meal had already been completed. The attitude of the male servers to us two women was disinterested, patronising and rude. It spoilt a very special occasion.
I really liked the atmosphere here and service was good too, the staff were polite enough and friendly. Unfortunately that's all there is, when the food arrived it was a huge disappointment. Not one of the dishes we ordered were good, although they were cooked properly they just tasted funny.
The Kerelan menu gives you a lot of promise but the food is just all right, nothing great. The Malabar paratha was only stand out dish in the entire menu. We had gone as a huge group and almost ordered everything. The pre-meal snacks were major let down - the murukku were not even crunchy. Service was quite bad as well. Would not recommend over the other South Indian places in the area.
We have been to this restaurant every time we visit London. It has always been our favorite Indian restaurant in London. We were so excited to dine there last evening. We ordered the Vegan Feast. It was awful. The appetizers were stale and the main courses were horrid. They were served barely warm and were totally flavorless. Nothing like the wonderful creative dishes of the past. These tasted far worse than most buffet main courses. The entire experience was a rip off. I don't know what has gone wrong at this place but we'll never return and certainly don't recommend anyone else waste there money going there.
Stale food. Dry veg. They didn't deliver one of my orders. Over priced. Disgrace to Kerala food. All the people saying the curries are good either haven't tasted proper curry before or are accustomed to poor quality food. I tried the fish, lamb and mutton dishes, all poor quality for a restaurant in zone one, there are far better Indian places.
