The food was excellent except the köfte, it could have been seasoned a little. i love the fact that they own all the places next to each other and we even got to meet the owner briefly who convinced us to go to the ice cream store if his. Excellent, Turkish sales guy lol. Service was ok. Little scatter brained not paying too much attention to what exactly we wanted and the servers kept changing so I don't think they fully where committed to the customer, rather to just bring the food when it was ready. Not very personal. We ordered the huge platter for two with all different meats a d I had asked if they could make a “coban salatası” instead of what came with it but they still brought what was in the menu instead replacing it as he promised he would. It’s ok, wasn’t a huge deal but being Turkish and finding a Turkish restaurant in CA while visiting from Seattle was just amazing in itself. Most impressive was on how CLEAN the place way. You could see the kitchen from the main floor and it was so organized and clean. I loved that. Overall great experience but service staff could be a little more personable. Will definitely come back 🙏

My family and I came last night and it was truly one of the best food experiences we’ve ever had. We got the assorted appetizers and family size meat dish. It was absolutely delicious. The service was wonderful, the decor was beautiful and the atmosphere was just overall great! 10/10 recommend. My family was talking about it all night. We got the Knafeh for dessert and it was so so good. We are definitely coming back here!

This was by far the best doner I have had in Los Angeles. The meat incredibly fresh and flavorful. owner is very and truly Turkish hospitality. The staff is respectful, attentive, and welcoming. The atmosphere has a beautiful, mystical ambiance that enhances the experience. The tea is absolutely perfect. If you are looking for authentic and delicious food, this place is a must-visit. Great food and great service. We were a big group and the service was amazing. Food was served so fast and hot. All the food was brought out almost at the same time. We got the mixed platter for two which was splenty for food and had a good mix of all the meat.

From the hostess to the waiters and food everything is great here; we were surprised by the complimentary appetizer which we thought was a very generous portion. See pic 1. Then we got the lentil soup, another appetizer with beef and an entree with rice,salad, beef and chicken. All the meats were very tender, very well seasoned and juicy. They come with some side sauces that are very yummy too. Everyone MUST GO to this restaurant and see why I’ve been thinking for many years that open sesame is way overrated 😅. Lastly they gave us complimentary dessert! The baklava was scrumptious and soft; just the perfect topper for our great dinner. Our only suggestion is to dim the lights a bit or get better lighting inside as it can be too bright and it takes away from the beautiful chandeliers, if the ceiling lights were a little less bright the chandeliers would pop more, also when we arrived the fan was blowing way too hard, fortunately they turned it down upon request. Thanks for bringing such good food to second st! Can’t wait for the ice cream to open!

We were greeted so warmly the moment we walked in, and the service throughout was amazing. Galata Restaurant served one of the best Turkish meals I’ve had — the mixed grill platter was packed with juicy, perfectly seasoned meats, fluffy rice, and fresh salad. Everything was full of authentic flavor. Highly recommend for both the food and the wonderful hospitality!

First time here at Galata Halal Restaurant and Grill, and it truly exceeded my expectations. We ordered the special grill for 2. The food was flavorful and authentic. We were greeted by Sefkan, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The hospitality made me feel right at home. Will definitely be coming back!

Wonderful experience. It's my first time trying Turkish cuisine and it's fantastic. Staff were friendly, was checking couple of times if we needed something and if we are doing okay. Their hospitality was incredible. Gave us recommendations on food, offered us hot Turkish tea at the end as a complimentary surprise.

I came here for my birthday tonight. My friend sent me a picture of some coffee they had so that’s what first brought me here. Okay so my waiter was suleyman. Fantastic service! He was so kind and friendly! Food was fantastic! 15/10 atmosphere was amazing! The tea, great! Coffee , great! Food, great , dessert, delicious! I will definitely coke back here and I’ve already told people about it. Love it! All my friends enjoyed it as much as I did too! All the staff are so friendly and nice all with smiles on their face too! Really welcoming

Everything was fantastic from the service to the food to the ambiance. Great place to go for some authentic Turkish dishes served by Turks themselves. Definitely the best lamb I've ever had, and their pepper sauce was delicious! Be sure to try an apple or pomegranate tea and stop by their desert shop next door!

The food is amazing! Such a great taste of Turkish/middle eastern food. Reasonably priced and great home cooked meals. Ferhat had a great attitude as well and always made sure we were well taken care of. The plates are large portions as you can see we had enough for leftovers.

Employees were very welcoming and attentive. Food was delicious and everything we ordered was a hit! Especially loved the potatoes in vinegar and the sun dried tomato olive oil with pita bread! Will definitely be coming back here.

This was my first time here, and honestly, I’ve been to almost every Turkish restaurant across the America, I can easily put this one at the very top. The menu is huge, the place is spotless and well organized, and the design is modern and stylish. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious, with generous and filling portions. The highlight of our visit was Sefkan, the staff member who took care of us. He treated us with genuine hospitality and made us feel truly welcome just like a real host should. Right next door, there’s also a dessert shop where you can find all the classic Turkish sweets and ice cream. Their desserts and ice cream were outstanding as well. Highly recommend this place to everyone!

I went to Galata Restaurant with three of my friends and had such an amazing experience. We ordered the mixed kebab plate, köfte plate, and Adana kebab plate — everything was so delicious and perfectly cooked. After our meal, they brought us pomegranate tea, and honestly, it was the best tea I’ve ever had in my life. The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive. I’ve literally never been to a restaurant with better customer service. Everyone was so kind and polite, and one of the workers in particular was just the sweetest — I wish I had asked for his name! He was so attentive and always asked how we were doing. Super friendly people. We all left with full stomachs, big smiles, and just such a great feeling. The food, the atmosphere, and the hospitality made it feel like I was back in Istanbul. (One thing I will add is that the prices were quite high, but the atmosphere can slightly make up for it!) Can’t wait to go back here for more!

The staff was extremely friendly, explained everything to us and had great customer service. The food was delicious, the lamb was tender and the garlic sauce and chili sauce paired well with everything. As a Black, I am predisposed to enjoy "soul food" from different cultures. I don't know if Galata considered their menu to be "soul food," but the soul is in every bite. You can taste the love from the kitchen on each plate. Each time I come here, with dad, family, myself, I'm astounded by the level of care and dedication they put into their incredible food and amazing service. I can't wait to come back again.

The service is attentive, though it’s a bit on the pricey side. The only downside is that they often keep the door open, and both times I've visited, flies were an issue while dining, which can be a bit annoying.

This place has such nice Turkish decor with all its unique cool beautiful decorations and very cozy atmosphere. It's also a lot more intimate and not too noisy from the outside. The complimentary pita and oil was amazing. We got the galata salad, which was very good and refreshing. The mixture of greens, date and feta cheese was great. We got the lamb and beef doner plate. The meat was very tender and they were very descriptive with the different variety of sauces. While super tender, it was not as seasoned as well as I would have liked. The char and tenderness was there but the flavor left a bit much to be desired. The Turkish tea was great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely come back here to try their other dishes.

Been wanting to visit the restaurant for a long time. I'm glad I finally tried it. Great location but parking is a bit challenging in Belmont shores. The restaurant is cozy and well decorated. The staff is extremely warm and welcoming. The menu offers lots of yummy options. Portions could be a bit larger considering the price. I would recommend making reservations especially on weekends. The have patio seating but I think only two tables. Inside there are about eight tables with two large booth style seating to accommodate families.
