Second time here. I can see it's going to take a lot of trips here to figure out all the combinations of ingredients to try ;-) They're all fresh and good. I got too many varieties of tuna this time, I think. Haven't tried their special sauce (they say it's the hottest), but they gave me a sample cup to take home and try.

Omg delicious poke bowls! I got the combo salmon and tuna tonight. Their seaweed and ginger are always the freshest and the portions are so generous. I would have posted a photo of a full bowl but I was only focused on chowing down!! Order ahead and pick up - makes dinner a breeze!

Favorite go to place for lunch. It's quick, easy, fresh and the staff is super nice and helpful.

Great poke bowls. Wide selection of unlimited toppings. The scoops of "protein" may be small but after the toppings, base, and sauce it really fills you up. Everything tastes fresh and real like the pineapple, crab meat, and onions just to name a few.

Excellent & fresh !! Hawaiian salmon is my favorite. First time here and I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a great poke place.

Delicious, fresh and nice portions. The service is always friendly and prompt. This is my usual go-to for lunch at least once a week. Try it, you won't be disappointed 😄

Best poke in town! The servers are always nice and quick. The food is fresh. I love all the sauces. I couldn’t give them enough stars.

N

I totally liked this place. One thing is that it's hard to spot, because the business next to it covers it. But the food, the selections, the service could be way more better. But other than that. Everything about the food was excellent

Been wanting to try this place and have for the first time last night and it is bomb ! EDIT: i go to this place often and it’s just as good every time i go! I’m not too big on trying new things but I’ve tried just about everything for a poke bowl and I’m in love ! Prices aren’t bad either

C
Christopher Greer

Portions are very generous and are at a reasonable price, they have a dizzying selection of proteins, sauces, toppings. They do go a bit lighter on sauce than many other places, so keep that in mind.

man, I REALLY appreciate this place. granted, I only ever get the same poke bowl ingredients (brown rice, hawaiian salmon and tuna, spicy mayo, kai sauce, spicy ponzu, cucumber, green and white onions, ginger, seaweed salad, avocado) and almond milk tea. please, never change your hawaiian ingredients! SO DELICIOUS, and the fish has tasted fresh each time I've been here. my only suggestion would be to maybe spritz the avocado with lemon/lime juice or a light layer of olive oil so over-entitled people 👀👀 don't start whining about browned avocado. (but then others will cry about food allergies to citric acid or olives, blah blah blah blah blah, although important yet alas, vicious cycles! and now i ramble) anywho, thanks Poke Kai! you make my tummy and soul full each time💓

This place is great! We've been needing a good build-your-own poke place on this side of town. Love the "hawaiian" mixes

Great value for the amount of food and taste. I wish they had a couple more toppings to choose from but I am not complaining. I will definitely go back whenever I am in the area.

Great price for the regular bowl $10.50 for three proteins, sooo delicious. They have great toppings here. The server guy was also super nice and helpful.

I love this poke place. They are super friendly and fast! The person who helped me was helpful by explaining their ingredients and what the sizes were, without getting annoyed or bothered by me asking questions. I was served very quickly and it is a good amount of food. Very filling and delicious. Always fresh..I'm seriously always recommending people go here. Haha :) Want to add as well, the pricing is a bit up there but it is a good value for how much food they actually give you and considering its fresh ingredients. Update: Still stand by this review. Took my boyfriend there and he actually got full (that dude eats a ton) they also started serving ramen! Have not tried it but will do so next time I go. 😊

Probably the best poke place in this area. I like the fact they have pre-made hawaiian-style poke but also raw fish where you can add your own sauces. No public restroom in the restaurant, but some places to go in the plaza. Lots of ingredients. But a but small interior with outdoor seating as well. Prices were very reasonable. And the drinks were good.

Poke Kai - Easily in Top 3 Poke Spots of LB. This spot is never a disappointment. Great flavors, options, and sizes for the bowls. The food is always very fresh and the staff do not skimp on portions. Love their Sauce. Love the Beverage options - Yummy Milk Tea. Everyone is always very cheerful and the wait is generally minimal. Small venue. Recommend this place to anyone in need of good Poke on the East Side of Long Beach. 👍

The best poke I've ever had!!! This is a GREAT deal for the quality of food they serve. I've payed almost twice as much for poke that wasn't anywhere near as fresh or flavorful. The greens/salad they serve is also cold, crisp & fresh. I eat here as often as I am able!

Always love this place!! The fish is fresh and the Hawaiian spin they put on the fish is so yummy!! The toppings are great, as well. They don't overload, and it they aren't scant with them. The folks working there are fun to talk with, as well. This is our Go-to spot for Poke.

If you need your poke bowl fix, this is the spot. The ingredients are super fresh and their special sauce is spot on. I love that they are still open during this pandemic; however, it is takeout and pickup only. I have been coming here for a while and I see the same staff and they are so friendly. In a society where fast food joints are popping up everywhere, I'm so thankful for this healthy option. Come out and support this local business. Highly recommend.

Been a fan of this place for a while. Probably the best poke spot in the area. 3 scoops of protein for a large bowl and unlimited add ons. It's been getting a bit more expensive, but still worth it

Had a stomach ache and and diarrhea immediately after eating at this location. I've come here all the time and enjoyed it, but with the prices skyrocketing and the stomach situation-probably not going to be eating here for a while.

Food is good and there was enough seating. The woman working behind the counter hadn’t tried much of the food there. Not their fault but prices went UP!

The tuna was fresh and tasty! Also, got to love the option for a spam masubi. The person at the front-with glasses- was cool. The only complaint was that we couldn't get an extra empty bowl or plate to split our meal without being charged another bowl. That was ridiculous. Other than that, awesome place.

R
Riley Ngy (Riley)

Skimp you on your portions. 50 $ for two bowls and two drinks and I ended up owning for an extra scoop of protein because they wouldn't fill up the first scoop. Disappointed, I come here a ton and have recommended it to others and after today 5/9/22 I probably won't be telling people to go here for that. Clean and has options. Overall 4/5

Delicious food, but I think the portions are a little messed up. Too much rice, and not enough fish. The topping portions are fine. Before I knew it, the only things left in my bowl were a heck ton of rice, a ball of crab, and a tiny piece of salmon. If you don't mind, spend the extra $2 for another scoop of fish.

Taste was good but portions were minute. They give you a sliver of avocado. Masago was just sprinkled. I barely knew there was any in the bowl.

The poke is good, but it is a bit pricey, especially considering the small portions of fish compared to the large portion of rice. One issue I've encountered is their refusal to serve the seaweed salad on the side. Previously, a gentleman was kind enough to accommodate my request with a small portion, but today, a different employee was persistent and rude about denying it. When I mentioned that I had received it on the side before, she insisted that it wasn't allowed. I believe the customer service could be improved, and this situation could have been handled better. Offering the option to have the seaweed salad on the side would be a simple solution, as I personally prefer it that way rather than mixed into my poke bowl. It feels like a tactic to push customers toward purchasing a larger side portion instead. If they truly want to provide great customer service, they should be willing to accommodate reasonable requests like this. As a frequent customer who spends a good amount on their poke bowls and who goes out of their way to drive to this location, I don't think it was an unreasonable ask. It's not as if providing a small portion separately would have affected the employee personally, yet they made a big deal out of refusing my request rather than making a simple accommodation. Leaving this location after encountering this situation was very frustrating and disappointing. I may now consider another spot to get my poke as I now feel like it may not be worth it to come to this location knowing my experience may not be the greatest.

Avocado is discontinued ?? and no longer available for even an add on charge ?! How can a poke restaurant not have avocado ; they go hand in hand. Brown rice was hard and fish tasted like it had been out for a while , gross . Owners need to stop being cheap or this will be a vacant spot on the strip mall soon.

Avoid. My wife and I didn’t think our meals tasted particularly fresh...however a couple hours after eating we realized our initial intuition was correct. We both got really rough cases of food poisoning (2/13/22). We won’t ever be going back.

Terribly bad service. The girl there gave us bad customer service. Messed up our order twice. Also the boba we order. One was missing boba and told us that she was going to have to charge us extra for the boba even tho she had already messed the drinks up twice. Also we ordered 2 large bowls and 2 bobas which came out to be almost $50. While the people Infront of us ordered 3 bowls which were also waaay more full plus their drinks and their total was way less. NEVER COMING BACK.

The food is good but I see that the owner doesn't give the employees their tips. I actually saw that he fired someone for inquiring about their tips. That's bananas. I won't be eating here anymore.

My friend and I are never coming back. Almost $20 for a small bowl with small portions and horrible customer service. Most of the good reviews on here are from 3+ years ago. My friend ordered a poke bowl w/ salad. She thought they had yellowtail and asked for that. The girl said “we don’t have yellowtail, it’s albacore” and proceeded to scoop the albacore in her bowl anyway. They don’t mix the fish in a separate bowl with the sauces like other places do. They scoop the fish on your base and then just drizzle the sauces on top so it’s not really marinated if that’s your preference. Canned pineapple was also very sour. I ordered a poke bowl with white rice. The rice was cool to touch, a little on the cold side. I noticed they don’t close the pot all the way either so either the rice was old or they aren’t closing things properly to regulate temperature. They also have a health code violation that says it’s been corrected for food temperature by the way. I also saw another review that mentioned the cold, hard rice. I brought my food back and asked for salad instead of rice. No apologies. Did not check the pot or anything, the other person just continued packing online orders.

Not sure how this place is staying in business with their outrageous prices. Almost $18 for a regular size bowl that had little to no protein. If you are raising your prices you should give the appropriate amount of food. And to top it off there is an option to tip? Well, I felt bad not tipping the guy who was very nice making my food because I would have walked out spending $22. For that price I could go get a bigger meal somewhere else for half the cost with tip included. They should consider lowering their cost in there, weekly specials, or offer cash price discounts.

I’m blown away why there are so many positive reviews. Maybe I just came on a bad day. It was $58 for 3 bowls that had absolutely no fish in them. I was definitely hungry after. They also refuse to offer avocado. The only plus is that there is marinated flavored fish. Other than that, save your money.

J

This place was once great but not anymore. Until the owner decided to take advantage of its customers by raising the price and reducing the size of the scope at the same time! Not to mention some server have the worst attitude ever, they try to give you as little scope as possible and when you complain about it they will try to charge you $2 for an "extra scope", and they did it on purpose! Mind you, we are talking about almost $18 per poke bowl, an extra $2 will make it $20. You are better off eating at a sushi restaurant at this rate! I understand its business but thats just not right!

If I could I would leave negative stars, if you want COLD rice or COLD and HARD rice with DAYS old ingredients for 18$ come here. I immediately went back and returned my last hard rice bowl to have the manager tell me that it was how the rice was supposed to be served! I have never been to a poke place that serves cold rice but I tolerated it for a long time because I live nearby and they served it warm sometimes but with no apology and without a full refund, I will never be coming back here. If you have any allergies be aware I have seen obvious cross contamination issues. YOU DONT GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!
