Avis sur Don Dean Bakery Long Island City
Food is in a relaxed spacious area. Lots of seating. Ordered 3 sandwiches and all were fresh and tasty. They sell Tea too (yes British!), so happy with that. The staff are friendly and polite, and the prices are very reasonable. Would happily visit again.
I stopped by Don Dean Bakery and had a great experience! I ordered the chicken taco, a medium coffee, and a Coca-Cola, and everything was fresh and delicious. The service was fast and efficient, and I appreciated that there was seating available to enjoy my meal comfortably. The bakery also has a nice selection of pastries and baked goods, making it a great spot for a quick bite or a coffee break. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area!
Place was fantastic! Peruvian-Mexican cafe with *phenomenal* arepas con queso y salsa verde - both made fresh daily and A+ flavor. Also would heavily recommend the fruit juice mixes - great balance of flavor to the arepas, empanadas, or even pizza. 🤙🏽
Great little Mexican bakery/restaurant Although by the name of it you can't tell. Nothing fancy here just good old Mexican home cooking. Tacos are full of meat and after 3 of them I was full. The beef empanadas were very tasty and flavorful compared to the mostly bland ones I've had in the past. The counter service was friendly and patiently answered every question I had. The seating area is clean and well maintained. I will definitely revisit this place. Tacos are $2.50, empanadas are $2.
This is one of the best tacos I've ever had! I popped in for a soda but decided to get a taco and that was a good decision (the soda not so much but I'm stubborn that way). Sorry for it being half eaten in the photo but it was so good I had to write about it.
Excellent!!! Started new job and was exploring neighborhood. Came across DD Bakery and walked in.... My Friends, this place is amazing! Staff is friendly, customers are treated with care, and their food is delicious..! Please stop by if you're in the area... 🙏🏽
Nice service staff, great sandwich! I had the cuban sandwich and a coffee. The sandwich was huge. They are generous with the meat and the bread was delicious!

Humble bakery, very good morning pastries always fresh and warm in the AM. They gave out free christmas goodie bags, and their Cuban sandwich is very good.
This place is great!! Highly recommend the food and Beverly is super nice!
They're super busy and a bit pricey, but worth every penny! I recommend the empanadas & tacos, their green sauce is incomparable! I used to work across the street and made constant visits so I miss them. Beverly is a sweetheart and will treat you more like family than a customer. Totally worth it! #qbstrong
Beverly made my experience at Don Dean Bakery so pleasant that I will definitely be making some return trips. She's pleasant, friendly, helpful and has a wonderful smile. The food was excellent as well, yet her customer service was top notch and the deciding factor in my choice to return.

If you happen to be in this part of Sunnyside and are craving something quick, Don Dean Bakery is a solid option to go to. I actually have tried a couple of times in the past week to go here after work, but I keep missing them as they close at 6pm. Finally, I decided to go before work and got to try them out today. I was hoping to try out their pan de yuca or their pan de yema but both were out when I went. So, instead I ordered a couple of the Bunuelos (cheese fritters), Conchas, chocolate croissant and apple pie. Both the chocolate croissant and apple pie were good. Each had a nice flaky texture and were not overly sweet. The Conchas was also very good, albeit very messy to eat. The bread was soft, sweet and went well with the white topping. The Chochas also came in a chocolate version but I did not try these. The Bunuelos were okay. It had a nice crunchy crust but tasted a little bland to me. I would like to come back and try some of their hot food like the empanadas and tacos. If only they did not close so early in the day! Tip: cash only but there's an ATM inside
I’ve gotten food from here a few times and I have to say that there food is really good

I had a chicken sandwich, which was tasty. The service was good.

It’s the only quickly accessible spot for me to get to before school. Literally waited like 40 mins for grilled chicken sandwich that wasn’t even on a hero. It was luck warm when I got it. That was a month ago. I checked on it 3 times as well. They never offered a discount or even like a free soda for having waited so long. It’s just the lack of customer service really bothered me more than anything. Instead the cashier was on his phone when he wasn’t taking customers orders. I just now got a coffee and brought in my own cup and they refused to fill it and used one of their cups which wasn’t even filled to the top. Had to pour from their now wasted cup into mine. I’m assuming it’s for cost cutting reasons. The bacon egg and cheese is fine The service is horrendous and the food is mediocre.
I have not had everything on the menu, but this had been a great place for me to stop and grab a bite after work early in the morning. Unfortunately the other day while I was there sitting down I saw atleast 4 of the most tiniest of roaches, like the size of a spec, but for me this could be signs of an infestation and who knows how it looks in the back, just thinking bout it made me lose my appetite ... As far as the food goes, the empanadas are just ok, but for 2.50 ya can't complain, the green sauce helps with the flavor, just don't add to much cuz it's a bit spicy, and the BEC was also just Meh, not too pricy tho. So I guess food wise I'd say it's a good Lil spot price wise, just don't expect the best meal ever, I also enjoy the fact that they have a free bakery basket, but who knows for how long those items have been sitting for!?! I really hope this place gets this roach problem under control!! Maybe one day I will return but for now it's a Nope for me!
Awesome empanadas. One of the best green sauces I have tasted. Now for the bad.....they charge you 50 cents for every extra one they choose to give you. I went there yesterday for iced coffee. It was 4 dollars....problem was they charged me 50 cents EXTRA for half and half. Seems like they put BS surcharges just to make extra money. Did I mention the roaches.....they can be seen on the pastries in the left showcase. Spend more time cleaning and left time stealing and you will get better ratings. It's a shame....they got off to a good start when they opened a few years ago, but laziness and greed has gotten the better of them.
I always get the same order of cheese empanadas and extra green sauce. I like the green sauce over anything. However they are becoming really stingy to their customers regarding their green sauce. They only give a green sauce if you buy more than 1. Try the restaurant is really worth it. But not for me anymore.

Sandwich with turkey, lettuce and tomato was soo bad. Store packaged would have been better. Music was soo loud and annoying…go elsewhere
Regrettably, I ordered a ham and turkey Hero with mayo, mustard and oil and vinegar. When I unwrapped it at work, there was only mayo on it. The ham and turkey was sliced unusually thick - kinda strange. It seems they're new at this. I just got a bad vibe from this sandwich and tossed it in the garbage. If your looking for a good sandwich, it's probably best to stay away.
