Avis sur Petey's Burger Long Island City
Bit of a hole in the wall and some good tasting burgers, had the Cajun Fries and loved them
My favorite burgers in nyc. Haters are wrong lol Also fast and friendly delivery always
this was one of the best burgers i ever had in my life! came here on friday on a date with my boyfriend and i’m so glad he chose this place! im definitely coming back and trying those milkshakes! all i had to take was one bite out of that burger and i knew !!! ❤️❤️ compliments to the chef !!
Simply delicious. Nothing special but burgers, fries and rings that hit the spot. Generous portions, cooked with reasonable care. May just be a local burger spot but I traveled from Jersey City for a burger and I’d do it again.
Consistently great in food and service. You can order delivery and get the same type of service. I just wish they were in Manhattan and Harlem. Prices tend to range from $4-$14 depending on what you get. That’s fine though because the food is consistent and good. Try it if you into a different vibe than the rest.
Hands down one of the best burgers I’ve had in a long long time! Killer burger joint with awesome milkshakes! Will be back next time I’m in the area!
Burger was a bit small, but amazing. Super fresh and crunchy onion, great toppings overall. Fries were also pretty great.
I come here often. The burgers are good. The fries are great. The price isn't too steep but a good grab for a grubbing with friends. The inside is a nice throwback to a different time of burger and chatting. Come with friends and you'll enjoy it too.
Have ordered several times from here and really happy with all the mains we've gotten. Fries can be hit or miss, but when they are hot and fresh they're pretty good if you like shoe string. Good wings and Great, huge onion rings too
I go for the double with cheese. This is likely the best burger in the neighborhood, and maybe one of the best burgers I have ever eaten. What's great about this burger? Nothing. What is good about this burger? EVERYTHING! And that is why it is my favorite - everything works together, and while nothing is standout, the complete package makes me happy and satisfied every time. Service is really quick, but not instant - everything is made fresh, not sitting around - but they have good choice in picking channels (often the sci fi channel) and after watching a scene or two, your food is ready. Also - I appreciate all the signage and care giving around masks / safety protocols. Stay safe Petey's staff!
Great burger, and especially good value. Definitely a regular lunch spot now.
As close to an In-n-Out as the East Coast gets, the very competitive prices are outstanding for the high level of food you get here. The burger was fresh, cooked perfectly, not greasy, with a thick slice of onion and tomato. The fries are cooked in some kind of high grade oil, they were fantastic. The Xtra Hot Wings delivered on packing a punch, with plenty of meat on every wing. Honestly, I really hope Petey's succeeds well into the future.
pretty good burger and fries although not the best fries I've ever had. the burger comes with lettuce tomato onion and you can also get bacon. atmosphere was a bit lacking but adequate for a quick burger :)
In n out style burgers with high quality meat. At first I wasn't convinced it would be worth it, but one bit and I was hooked. All the flavors mesh well together, from the bite of the raw white onion to the rich, fatty taste of the Angus beef. Definitely worth a repeat visit!
Best burger place in the neighborhood. Me and my family tried almost the whole menu, and every item was just as you were saliving for. My own favorite is the Petey's melt.... Make sure you have plenty of napkins around, since that sandwich is juicy and it will leak. Add some bacon and you are set. Furthermore they have their own delivery drivers, very friendly and courteous, and they always arrive way before the time you are expected (do not blame any of them if the Pulawski Bridge opens, that thing is a nightmare). To summarize I'd like to recommend Petey's to anyone, who is in the mood for a Great burger.
Best burger place in town. Very fresh homemade taste. Fries are really good too. Great customer service! Wish I could give them a 10
Decent burger for the price and a good sized portion of fries. Always hot and made fresh. Dine in area is basic but does the job.
Best fastfood cheeseburger in LIC and Astoria. My kids rave about this place. They also have three solid vegetarian burger options. All their fries varieties (regular, spicy, and sweet potato) are delicious and cooked perfectly. This location has limited seating options, but its close proximity to Gantry Plaza State Park gives patrons the opportunity to picnic by the East River while beholding the UN building, the Empire State Building, and the Chrysler Building along with the rest of Manhattan's skyline. Hard to get a better view while you eat your double!
Eating in is a bit dirty but the food itself is great
i've ordered from petey's dozens of times over the years. i love it. i usually get the double cheese burger with bacon and onion rings. the rings are just the right amount of crispiness for me. the burger's just they way i like it, not over-cooked but not dripping with juice either. i also tried their patty melt once, and it was great as well. keep it up, petey's!
If you're into underrated spots for delicious burgers, Petey’s is a hidden gem worth finding. Juicy well seasoned patties! They have a bomb orange sauce and fresh toppings that deliver a refreshing finish. The fries are pretty average and lightly salted. Nothing to mind blowing there, just all around good burger and fry combo. I recommend pairing it with a Strawberry milkshake!
What can I say, it's a delicious cheeseburger, full stop. I actually walked a mile each way to pick this little piece of heaven up last time I ordered from here. The burgers are divine and they even offer a lettuce wrap in lieu of bun if you're watching carbs. The fries are thin and tasty too, although not too crunchy. I haven't eaten in at this location but always have accurate and friendly service when picking up. Nothing to write home about regarding the atmosphere but it also isn't unpleasant. Highly recommend if you're craving a good burger (and you don't have to necessarily walk like i did ;))
Sinfully good . Like, I could feel the years of life slowly ebbing from my frame with each bite. Crisp, delicious, and filling for the price. Perfectly balanced , like all things should be.
First time having Perry’s burger Cajun fries was so good nice and crispy and enough Cajun. The Cajun burger was good also not a sloppy burger but was cook to perfection
Fun little fast food burger joint. The portions of fries are fairly large. Burgers come in single, doubles and triples. The double is my standard, a single if I want a smaller size, and the triple if I am really hungry. Price is little higher for straight fast food but the quality makes up for it. Combo meals are about 11 bucks for the double burger. Shakes not bad but could be bigger for 5 bucks. Cheese fries are also pretty good. Seems to be a pretty decent place for take out or delivery. I have only been for the sit down counter service.
Cheeseburger, cajun fries, and vanilla milkshake were tasty. But the service was A class!! THANK YOU to the guys working tonight! We accidentally spilled a milkshake and they not only cleaned it but also decided to surprise us with a new one! Cheers to you and we will definitely remember your kindness!
Really appreciated the veggie burgers! The prices are unbelievably cheap and the pattys are definitely house made.I would suggest adding cheese on them because it definitely felt like it was missing something, especially because it’s a pretty basic burger with limited ingredients. I will say, it’s surprising it doesn’t come with cheese considering the veggie burgers are more expensive than cheese burgers. The Cajun fries are crispy and fresh, with yummy seasoning on top. Staff was very nice and there’s plenty of tables to grab a seat.
This place is incredible. As someone from California, I often miss In N Out and Peteys fills that desire. Delicious, affordable and fresh. Staff are incredibly friendly. Its probably my favorite place to eat in LIC
This place is awesome. The burgers are so good and quick friendly service. We've been here several times and it has been great every time. Burgers, shakes, and fries always on point
Wow freshest veggie burger I have ever bought. On top of having 3 options of it! I got the southern one-absolutely delicious! Staff was friendly and the Cajun fries were awesome. Definitely would come back when I’m in the area :)
This burger joint serves delicious burgers that are flavorful without being greasy. The fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned, complementing the meal well. The shake was good—simple and satisfying, though not particularly memorable. Service was fast and friendly, making the experience even better. The restaurant itself is small, with limited seating, but it’s a great spot for a quick and tasty meal.
This is a hidden gem, at under $10, their burger is fantastic value. They serve a simple yet satisfying burger: two thin patties, thick onion slice, fresh tomato, crisp lettuce, and melty cheese. It's greasy with a robust beefy flavor, though slightly on the salty side. While the Cajun fries emulate the Five Guys seasoning. Fresh and chewy, they are on the thinner side but pack a flavorful punch. Its definitely worth a visit for anyone craving a solid, no-frills burger experience.
Don't get fast food, get Petey's. The burger is always juicy with a solid bun and quality onions and tomatoes. The fries are pretty good, but get the cajun fries to level up your experience. The wings are a B+ in my book, but definitely go for xtra spicy, as they aren't too hot. The shakes are nice too if you wanna treat yourself.
Wow! These burgers are amazing. I had the opportunity to chat with the owner who told me In and Out Burgers, on the West Coast, was the original inspiration for Petey's. Well, as much as I enjoy me an In and Out burger, Petey's has left them in the dust. Burgers and fries are on the menu, not much more than that but they don't need much more! My wife had the Petey Melt, a burger with carmelized onions, and cheese perfectly grilled and served on an inside out bun, buttered and toasted to perfection. I had a Double Cheese with lettuce, tomato, raw onions, and an amazing sauce they called Russian but I call delicious. The vibe is kind of neighborhoody but perfect for the fare. The burgers are made from premium beef patties. They are SLOPPY, but in that enchanting way that makes eating them all the more enjoyable. The fries are great, crispy, lightly salted and hot, onion rings richly breaded and fried to a delicate brown with flavor over the top. Here's the capper to all this, prices are right there wth most fast food joints. The staff is stellar, the prices are downright cheap and the food is incredibly delectible. Dont. Miss. Petey's.
I’ve never heard of this place before. I came here out of convenience as I was in the area with my family and my 5 year old said he was hungry, so we stopped here for lunch and I am so glad we did! The cheese burger was amazing! I was pleasantly surprised. I would definitely recommend and would come back again. The fries were decent though nothing special. Next time I’ll try the milk shakes.
Really good local spot here for burger’s definitely had some in n out looking food and they made it even better! Burgers were seasoned and grilled to perfection I loved the patty melt I had and can’t wait to try other burgers and veggie ones as well! Sweet potato fries were great as well! Definitely will be back!
Decent burger for the price. A bit messy so get extra napkins. And I always take out some of the onion. Onion rings are awesome. Extra crispy on the outside and soft real onion on the inside. Large portion of onion rings too. Fries are just ok. I do take out as seating is ok...could be cleaner.
Went here for lunch, chose the combo cheeseburger w/ fries and a can of soda for around 13 dollars tax included. The burger was quite better than McDonald's burger, but not on the same level on shake shack, over rall it's a decent filling lunch if you're curious.
I loved the smokey bb wings and cheeseburger. Taste is amazing & ingredients are fresh. However, the person who served us was very rude & unprofessional. He didn't even give us water to drink when we asked him for 2 cups of water...
I give them 3 stars because of their service. Me and my coworker walked in. I ordered first, I asked if fries came with the Southwestern burger, I was told no that I had to buy the fries separately. My coworker ordered a combo. When I looked, the combo came with a drink and fries. Now, yes some of it is my fault because I didn't view the menu in its entirety( I was trying to be considerate to the people behind me and I was on lunch, time was of the essence) but a good cashier and great customer service, the cashier should have told me or even asked if I wanted a combo when I was ordering. Anyway, the Southwestern burger was amazing, better than I thought it would be. If you don't like tomatoes, ask to have them removed, the Cajun fries were good, but the seasoning was very powdery and made it slightly hard to get down once you've eaten a 1/3 of your bag. But I will go back, I just know to read the menu completely and ask questions next time.
I was in LIC and saw this place. I hadn't been there before. I walked inside to get a quick lunch. I ordered their cheeseburger combo, which includes fries and a soda. The burger was cooked reasonably well and worked well with the extra toppings. The price was decent too. It's far from the best burger ever, but makes for a good lunch option.
Great deal, pretty good veggie burger (southwestern). Plain fries were too plain but I didn't realize Cajun was an option - should have gotten those.
Burgers and fries are generally pretty good. I especially enjoy having the cajun fries. I typically pick up from here and I’d recommend ordering via phone (vs. third party apps) as that’ll cost you less. Never had to wait too long and staff is generally friendly. Small indoor seating area is available.
We had lunch-the Brussels sprout bites are amazing! I had the el matador burger and my daughter built her own. So good. I'm coming back to try every burger on the menu. The burger is 6 oz-perfect portions. Enough to fill you without stuffing yourself. The lemonade was really good too. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Highly recommend it. I don't usually pick a burger place, this sounded so interesting, glad I tried it. AND clean bathrooms!!!!
Petey's is your typical greasy burger joint. It's got a small menu but that's why it shines. It doesn't try to complicate things. Fries are shoestring style and come in regular or Cajun. Sweet potato fries are also available for those who enjoy that. Prices are the going rate.. about $5-6 for a cheeseburger and up if you want more patties. Some toppings are included but some aren't. Strangely, tomato cost an additional $0.50. there must be a shortage I didn't get the memo on. Overall, if you're looking for a greasy quality burger, you can't miss with Petey's. It's kind of like five guys though I would say five guys is better. Especially since all toppings are free and malt vinegar is made available. None of that here at Petey's. Just ketchup and yellow mustard packets.
Fast food burger joint. A little pricey but the portions are big. Food came out very fast and was brought to my table with a smile. It was a very warm October day and the air wasn't on so it was pretty hot it the dinner.
A giant step above classic fast food, a half step below Shake Shack. The burgers are flavorful and thin (my kids like that). Wish they offered cheddar instead of just American cheese for the burger. The fries are yummy and/but incredibly salty. Staff is always super nice and they turn out burgers super fast.
At this price point, Petey’s has a very solid burger. I must admit that there is WAY too much onion though (and I’m normally a fan of onion on my burgers). I mean, every bite tasted like 50% onion and 50% everything else. But if you take it off, it’s not a big deal. The shoestring fries are quite good, and you get a good amount. May or may not come back-not the best, but definitely not the worst.
Tik tok told me to eat here. I got the patty melt with onion rings and both were not bad. The patty melt was smaller than expected but was still really filling (grilled onions were also on the patty). For the onion rings I was not expecting such a large portion size which was nice and I also saw that people who got fries got a large amount. Overall the prices here were very reasonable, the food was ok, and the service was great.
Nothing spectacular. Regular burger joint. I tried it because I was in the area. In my opinion there are better burger joints within the same price range. I did enjoy their onion rings.
This spot is fine. Lots of fries like other people said and decent construction, but the patty was pretty poor (like grilled frozen supermarket patty texture). People who say it's the best burger they've had are on one. Really expensive too at $15 for a single combo. Shake shack is much better and cheaper so I'd just go there instead
The price went up. Now a triple costs $10+ , a fries cost $5+ and a shake cost $6. The cajun fire tasted no fire at all and my fries were too soft. The environment could be improved even for a fast food chain. Customer service is okay.
Been going here over 10 years good food but sometimes they're shady and can't follow instructions. Still charging extra for sauce a whole decade later.
A little dirty, Counter guy was rude, burger was OK, onion rings were good. price was good.
Not worth the price. Small burger and fries portion and they have the nerve to charge you 15 bucks for it. It's not even high quality. I'd be better of going to McDondalds and ordering 2 separate meals smh.
Owners clearly don’t care anymore. They don’t serve ketchup (either packets or in cups) when ordering delivery. How the hell do you not provide ketchup when you’re literally a burger joint?
I’m not a meat eater and I seen they had 3 different types of veggie burgers so that was really exciting. Went there for my lunch break at 11, they had just pretty much just opened. First the service wasn’t that good, seemed like everyone was now getting into work and the guy in the front just didn’t want to work today. My order was a southwest veggie burger with Cajun fries, total came up to $13.98. Didn’t smell any food being cooked just smelt clean which isn’t a bad thing but I would think you would smell food being cooked! My fries tasted like they were from the night before and rewarmed in the microwave. No crunch just soggy and chewy. The best thing on my southwest burger was the lettuce and tomato. The bread was cold and the burger had zero flavor also tasted like it’s been in freezer and defrosted in the microwave, had a slight taste of freeze. I did take out and I walked 5 min back to my job! I’m upset because I was starving, with high expectations great food and service and it all sucked!! I wish I would of just went and got pizza The only reason I gave two stars was because the seasoning in the fries were really good! But that’s my only compliment!
The taste of the burgers decreased in the past 4 months significantly. It’s a shame. As if they forgot how to make proper burgers. The onions were the wrong breed and cut too thick, they didn’t remove the thick bitter white bits of the iceberg lettuce, the meat was under seasoned, the bun was sticky and no longer brioche style. I won’t come back! What a shame, I loved this place before
It sure smelled good. It sure looked good. But TERRIBLE SERVICE!! Only wish I could have tried the burger but... I place an order over the phone. I'm looking at their online menu. The guy takes my order and I repeat it back, and I even confirm the price and what I am seeing online, the staff and I agree yes it will come to about $16 or $17 bucks. I ask, "would you like me to pay over the phone" No, no, no pay when you get here. I arrive 15 minutes later. They ring me up for $22 bucks. Hmmm that's odd, I say that when I called they said it would be about $16 bucks and change. "NO, NO SIR TOTAL PRICE IS $21.72" Hmmm, so I pull up the online menu and show it to him, see this is what I was going on, this is what I ordered, this is what the guy who took my order said it would be.... "PRICES WENT UP... THATS OLD MENU" So rude. I walked right out I would not even mind paying the $22 bucks for what I ordered if it did not feel like I was some out-of-town mark stumbling into an eatery and the price was based on how well they know you
Whatever you do!!! DO NOT ORDER A MILKSHAKE! For 8$ I received strawberry milk. The burger and fries combo wasn't bad only because of the price, otherwise nothing to write home about and nothing to write a good review about. Definitely will not be going back. How can you mess a milkshake up for that price😡😡😡
The short spanish guy working here is very rude. Today around 7:18 pm ( August 30th ) we went to order burgers. The guy from the very beginning wasn’t welcoming and had a very bad attitude. While ordering, we wanted a breakdown of price of one of the items. He answered with an irritated and annoyed face “ you know what you ordered it’s just burgers “. I ended up leaving the restaurant. If he shows unprofessionalism like this, like me you’ll lose more customers. I hope management will train him good on how to treat customers.
I love burgers! (review from 2019) But that place I don't recommend. The burger is bad? No, but is slim & small like a McDonald's cheese burger (but on Mc, you pay $1 or $2). Here, I paid $13 for a combo (fries & soda). When you pay more than 10 dollars in a burger, you can wait something nice and big. Come to the Petey's Burger if you don't like of your pocket and you will leave the place feeling that you didn't had eat.
The burger is alright, about bland. The sweet potato fries are good. The service definitely needs improvement. The guy at the front was pretty dismissive even without anyone behind me. And it looks like nobody behind the scene in the kitchen (in LIC) wear gloves anymore.
This place used to deliver simple and good tasting burgers. Today I ordered cheeseburger and fries. Everything came in an open brown bag and cold. I called the place and the guy who picked up said it’s UberEat’s fault. Be careful since open bags are prone to contamination. I’ll file a complaint for this place to be inspected.
Ordered pick up service. Asked for burger with no bun, wrapped in lettuce. Got charge extra for it. My surprise as I get home, it’s in a bun instead of lettuce as requested. I called to try to get my order right but got hanged up twice.
Don’t treat couriers inhumanely, the other day while eating inside, the employee throws the food on the courier’s face and I’m ashamed of this situation, don’t take inhumane actions, couriers are customers and since that day I prevented my relatives from going here, no one is superior to anyone, I don’t recommend this place to anyone.
The food was disgusting and cold, we received half of our order, we called they said they'd send it, we waited then called back they answered the phone saying they were closed. We ordered a hour before they closed. The cheese fries were cold and soggy so were the sweet potatoe fries. I'll never order from here again. Just a complete waste the one night I didn't cook.
*sigh* Walked past this spot plenty of times for 2 years while just walking the neighborhood or going to nearby restaurants like Centro &/or Bareburger. Slightly curious because I like to know all the good burger spots but with Bareburger being a block a way but more importantly burgers being made at home, no need. Today was the day. Been craving a burger for a few weeks & w/the recent closing of Paper Plates(Long Island City, Queens), I decided to type 'burgers' into Google Maps. A few spots came up with Bareburger & Petey's Burger being 2 of them. I decided to check Petey's reviews & pictures out. I see shoestring fries, which I'm not crazy about but they're very tolerable so I didn't let that turn me away. I'm looking at the pictures posted and thinking to myself 'these are inviting' but I still went because 'hey 4.2/5 ⭐ is a good rating" Upon walking into the establishment, I don't smell any food scents in the air despite about 5 people sitting down eating. That's a strategy that my lady goes by😘 I order a plain hamburger and regular size fries. I went to wash my hands and as soon as I sat down, my food was ready. 🤔 I go to inspect my burger and it has an onion, lettuce, tomato and cheese. What part of plain is this?? I take it back and calmly stated that I requested plain. I'm pretty sure they just swapped the buns but what restaurants don't realize is that taste is still on the food. I asked for ketchup and after putting the ketchup on the bun(1 side. This is important)I give the burger a shot. That ketchup was the worst! Oh my! It was so bad I just started eating a bunch of fries. Eventually I come back to the burger and tried again. I had to spit it out. I have pics of that if need be🤮. To help, I took the bun w/ketchup off and folded the burger with remaining bun. I tried to watch again but I couldn't finish the burger. At this point I'm just eating fries to replace the nasty taste of the burger & fries. After discarding the food, I just couldn't wait to find a Target to buy some Albanese gummy bears & get back to the office to drink water with them. That after taste was insane. Also the buns were not fresh or remotely close. Idk how this is rated a 4.2 but if I had to guess, people prioritized the price over the taste. I'll go back to Bareburger if I ever get a craving for a burger while in this neighborhood
