O.M.G. If you are traveling on I 20 and you have a chance to stop here for a meal, do it! You will not regret it. Meat and two veg — it is real, down home, tastes amazing food. The cornbread is not that sweetened stuff that you get at other places. It is the real deal and fried to perfection. I had melt in your mouth meatloaf with potato casserole that is cheesey goodness with just enough onion to make it way beyond just plain Jane. The cabbage was flavorful and mild. Bring your appetite. These are generous portions. Don’t let the look of the place fool you. It is spotless and these are some of the nicest folks you can meet. Eat in, take out. It is ALL GOOD!!!!

Came here last week because I was out east for my job and oh my gosh!! This food was DELICIOUS!! What southern cooking should taste like! I’m definitely coming back whenever I can!! Nicest ladies running the place as well!

This place is one of Longview’s hidden gems for some good ol’ fashioned country and soul grub. Highly recommend trying the catfish and shrimp (evenly cooked, fresh and crisp), but their burgers and chicken fried steaks (not stringy or tough) are delicious as well. We ended up getting their boudin balls (flavorful and crisp) this time for appetizers, but will be back to try more menu items soon! Everything was cooked great. My least favorite item was the mashed potatoes- they weren’t bad, but just didn’t hit home for me personally. To hit on everything else should go to show that Fat Boyzzz meanz bizzz. First time dining here and the food is amazing! My husband had the baked potato with sausage and bacon. It had plenty of cheese on it too and I had to taste it...so rich and delicious! I had the catfish, shrimp, okra, and slaw. The catfish filets were thick with a little cornmeal coating, perfect! Everything was well seasoned and there's Tony's and Louisiana hot sauce at the table too. Friendly folks that made us feel right at home, and the dessert is not to be missed! Texas pie is heavenly! 🤩

I don’t leave reviews often, but this is the best food I’ve had in Longview in a long time The food was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. Our server was a huge sweetheart who went out of her way to make our experience enjoyable. If you’re looking for a place that feels like home when you walk in the door, you’re in the right spot. We will absolutely be back!

I highly recommend the catfish and shrimp! They were fried perfectly and seasoned well. The boudin eggrolls were delicious, as was the sweet tea. My husband loved his chicken fried steak. Everyone who worked here was friendly and gracious. My only regret is that I didn't take any pictures of my food! We'll be back for sure.

It was real busy and they did a great job on service with the amount of people eating. We got the 2 catfish fillet basket.. neither one of us could finish the whole meal. The fish seemed to have a slightly smokey flavor and it was delicious. The hush puppies had a unique shape with a fantastic flavor. Overall a great meal and I would come back.

Stopped here as we were passing by and omg the food was amazing. It made me feel like I was back home and my grandma was in the kitchen. It was super busy and there was a wait but it was definitely worth the wait. Definitely 10/10 highly recommend

This place is a gem for sure. I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for the Sunday buffet and the line of people was long but they all had smiles on their faces so we joined the line! The restaurant has a classic cozy yet modern interior and was so clean, you could tell the guy wiping tables was happy to be there! The ladies behind the counter and taking drink orders were so kind and ran that buffet super efficiently and with courtesy of one another, which is so good to see! Food was phenomenal without comment. I had a fried pork chop, potato casserole, Mac and cheese, and the dressing and cornbread that I can compare only to a large hush puppy! I still don’t know how restaurants with bad service and mediocre food still exist when these amazing local establishments are here!! I will be back for more of that sweet potato pie too!

This is the best place in Longview hands down. The burger was perfect. The meat was cooked perfectly and was juicy. Even though the burger was so juicy the bun still had a slight crunch from it being cooked and wasn’t soggy like most places. The fries are out of this world. The customer service was what stood out for me though. They were so nice and sweet. 100% will be back.

We were passing by and decided to stop for lunch. Thank God it was soul food Sunday, the food was sooooo good and all the service was above and beyond. We had the baked salmon and the fried pork chops, perfectly paired with turnip greens, cabbage, green beans, and hot water cornbread. There's a sign on the door that says Jesus is in the restaurant and between the friendly staff and amazing food, I believe it's true. I got my comfort food fix; go get you some! 😋

Hands down, this is the best food we've eaten since we were home last. Hubby and I both ordered the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, white gravy (he also had the beans), and corn bread. Hubby also ordered the boudin balls as an appetizer (which he gladly ate all of), and i did try. All of the food is very flavorful and cooked to perfection. The cfs had a crisp (but not dry) coating that was soooo yummy! The steak itself was so juicy and tender that you could cut it with a plastic butter knife. The staff is extremely sweet and kind and I had a very relaxing and wonderful overall experience. This is a definite "must try" if you're in the area.

We went there today not knowing what to expect. We were very happy that we came here for lunch! From the minute we walked in the door we were very impressed. The food was delicious, the portions large, and our waitress was super sweet and attentive. We will be going back!!

Great food, great staff, a bit pricey but I believe it was worth it. Got the chicken fried steak and it was good size proportion and tasted great. I got the fried okra with it and also great. Staff was on point with welcoming smiles and well taken care of. Drinks were constantly refilled without ever saying a word

Both times I've eaten here I've left so full I could barely move, the portions are large and the food is so good I just couldn't stop eating. The Philly cheese steak is too big to pick up for most people, but I managed😁. The chicken fried steak is cooked perfectly. Last time I was there I tried the jalapeno corn nuggets! They were so delicious. Staff is always friendly and keep your drink full.

This place is a hidden gem. I’ve passed by it for years but never tried it until today. This place is top notch. The employees were so friendly. They all went above and beyond and had such a friendly attitude while doing so. Make sure you tip them! The food was incredible. The chicken spaghetti, fried chicken, smothered pork chops, Mac n cheese, and potato casserole were absolutely delicious!! The kool aid and sweet tea were perfectly made. The only thing I will say is the buttermilk pie had kind of a weird taste to it. It tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge gathering other flavors for a while. I won’t hold that against them though because everything else exceeded my expectations. I’d like to try their Texas pie next time.

If you’re reading this review and trying to decide on a place to eat, this is the spot. I was recently in Longview on Storm Restoration from Ga and decided to stop here for lunch. I was in a group of Five and we all got a different dish. Everything was great no complaints. Some of the best sweet tea I ever had. You get a great meal for a great price. Also, the staff and servers were really nice and make you feel at home. The place was well kept and clean. If I lived here this would be my go to spot, please support this local dinner.

Y’all … don’t EVEN think about eating some fast food garbage when you’re in this area. We stopped on our way to New Mexico and got some takeout. Lickety split and we were back on the road. Food was ready and hot - meatloaf, chicken spaghetti, green beans, mashed potatoes, black eyed peas, corn bread and mac and cheese. All of it was excellent and served with a smile.

This is a true southern style restaurant. They got food like fried fish, fried chicken, mash potatoes, and greens. There's a line for quick service or you can order a burger like I did. Old school music with old school southern charm. Really good customer service.

If you don’t know what soul food is it is real Southern home Cooking. The best chicken fried steak I have eaten in a long time made with real round steak that is battered in house. They also mashed their potatoes. We ordered 3 appetizers because we couldn’t decide on just one and took all our left overs home. The owner was onsite and all the staff were very friendly.

Coming from a restaurant family we know food. This is not premade out of a box food. This is homemade fresh and made to perfection. I had pork chops and they were so juicy with a delicious crust. My sister had a chicken fried steak and it wasn't all batter like most places. It was a legit thick steak. There was nothing on my plate we did not enjoy. Yes they use disposal plates and utensils but losing that overhead is truly made up in the quality of the food. Nothing fancy about the place but the service and the food is top rate! I will be back Fat Boyz!

Soul food Sunday hits hard and heavy here. The smothered turkey wings, pig feet, and pork chops were seasoned well. I was elated that the candied yams, cabbage and turnip greens were NOT out of the can. The service was as equally good as the food. Reasonably priced! Definitely worth a repeat trip very soon

My wife had the fried pork chops with mashed potatoes and gravy, she said the mashed potatoes were fabulous. Looking forward to another road trip west so we can stop in again.

Wifey and I are new to the area and wanted to find us a good Soul Food location. I think we found it. After reading their reviews, we decided to check them out. Their customer service got great reviews for a reason. The ladies were very pleasant and attentive. We decided to share an order. It's been too many times that the food didn't match the positive reviews. This time, the food was as good as the reviews said. We ate in the truck to taste it while it was hot. We ordered a fried Pork Chop dinner plate with cabbage and mac and cheese. Chops had crunch and were seasoned. Sides tasted good as well. They were out of cornbread, so we got a roll. They were different from the rolls I've had before but still tasted good. I had a little Pork Chop left when we got home. For an added bonus, it warmed up good in the oven. Still had some crunch. We're looking forward to trying their other dishes.

Everything I ate was amazing and made me want to try anything they serve here. I had the chicken fried steak with cream gravy, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, and macaroni and cheese. Crispy fried and steak was tender with great cream gravy, mashed potatoes were seasoned and the brown gravy was outstanding and the macaroni and cheese was creamy and delicious. The staff was also super friendly and very attentive. Well definitely be visiting again when I come back to town next week.

I didn't go in a day you can order from the menu. I didn't get to try the chicken fried steak. I know the cheeseburgers are amazing. I will definitely go back. I didn't expect a family if 4 to cost over $70. I attribute that to us all having desert. Either way I will return.

Im going back for chicken, hot water corn bread, peas, and try the other food that I did not try.

We came for the balloon festival. We chose restaurants based on Yelp and Google reviews. I ordered the fried Catfish and shrimp. Lots of food. Comes with 2 sides. Mark wasn't hungry.😁 He ate my side salad. If we ever come back, we'll order the chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken. Food came out HOT, which is a big deal for me. Score!

Everyone was friendly and welcoming. It was really busy when we got there for lunch, but the line moved fairly quick. They had a good system. My husband had fish which came with 3 large pieces and two sides, my mother who’s 97 ordered a chicken fried steak with two sides and I had a cheeseburger with everything on a jalapeño bun and all water for drinks. Our bill was $53 plus tip of $10. My mom couldn’t eat the chicken fried steak because it was too big but she mentioned she got a few tough pieces. We took all the leftovers home and reheated them in the air fryer for dinner. Unfortunately, the chicken fried steak was tough throughout. It could have been an isolated incident though.

Man, this is another place I wish was more local! VERY unassuming from the outside but man, that soul food is great! Really good ladies working hard in here too. They cut up with us and we had a great time. I truly wish this was closer, I would be here a lot. I can't go 5 star because I rarely give them out. It has to be incredible to warrant that but seriously... this place is as close as you can get. Good job ladies! I will be back next time I come through.

The food must really be good because the line was wrapped around so much so that we did not get a chance to eat. I was disappointed but I knew if I had waited. We would've missed our flight. Next time I'm in Texas, I look forward to trying it out.

So today, I was meeting my daughter in Cathrage, TX from Houston, TX. Of course, I arrived early so I decided to look up a soul food restuarant. Which brings me to Fat Boyzz, where I ordered oxtails, greens and mac/cheese. No rice for oxtails so I took the dressing, why? Let's just say it was a $30 donation. Oxtails were not the best, but a nice size. Mac and cheese was very runny and greens needed to vook more. You might say why I gave two stars, the lady finishing the drinks had great customer service and that sweet tea was the best thing I got.

Waited in line for about 1.5 hours, and the food was just ok.. missing seasoning for sure. The service was great and they were very friendly to us. There were two workers in the front arguing really loud, and the younger lady was really disrespectful talking to the older lady about some plates that got mixed up, i assume. Either way, I was raised to respect my elders, so it bothered me until the lady working on the line eventually stopped the argument. The music was good. The building was old and ran down, but yall know that's where the best food comes out of from what I've seen. The side portions are small (except for the cabbage) for as much as the meals cost 89 dollars would have been fine if our boxes had been full. The side of dressing was small as heck, too, one little scoop (of course, my greedy butt asked for extra). I will say The Cabbage was so good.. Oxtails weren't cooked long enough or falling off the bone, and the smothered pork chops the gravy was missing, seasoning it was super bland. The mac and cheese tasted like KFC mac & cheese.

The line was crazy long felt like you were standing in line at school in the cafeteria. I got the baked salmon, Mac and cheese, and green beans and pound cake, the food was good over all but as soon as I started eating the cake something just told me to stop and I turned the cake over and found MOLD. Indicating that’s the cakes on display must have been sitting out for days or even weeks on end. Over all 2/10 I do NOT recommend.

Very nice people. Great service. The restaurant smelled like sour mold. Tables were very sticky. I ordered the chicken fried steak, cornbread and mashed potatoes with gravy. The chicken fried steak was so salty! It was hard to eat. Breading and steak was cooked well just way too much salt. The cornbread on the other hand had no salt. Was the most bland cornbread I have ever had. Tasted like eating straight cornmeal. Mashed potatoes were good. People were nice but need a lot of work to make this a decent place to eat. Start with cleaning and then work on seasoning. Won't be going back.

They are good, but you definitely aren’t gonna get your money’s worth. They give very small portions, so if you are real hungry, don’t go to them! Here’s a photo of a burger and fry that I purchased. Hardly any fries!
