Avis sur Pico Los Alamos
Amazing restaurant with a passionate chef who sources local ingredients. When I went I had the chicken liver pattee and burrata, both were excellent.
Kace was very knowledgeable with his wines and didn’t steer us wrong. Strongly recommend this restaurant if you’re visiting the Solvang area to get away from the tourist trap places. Food was delicious. (Plan a ride, Ubers are scarce here)
This place is a treasure! The atmosphere, staff, food, and wine are fantastic. We are vegetarians and wine lovers - on both fronts knocked it out of the park. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and geeky about wine and food. We plan to come back tomorrow and every future trip to the area.
A very good meal and a great wine selection. Service is also top notch and with request the Chef came to our table with fresh truffles. Truly a great experience.
Absolutely loved it! Customer service is on point, food is amazing and love the vibe. Must have the cinnamon bun and mimosas. We will definitely come back.
Beautiful, spacious outdoor patio/garden. Fantastic wine list. Wonderful food - well prepared and seasoned. Fried brussel sprout salad was delicious.
Pico is my home away from home! With the most beautiful garden and ever-changing, beautifully crafted dishes and drinks, it’s a Los Alamos must. Plus the staff is so kind and welcoming! The team there, especially Liz (the GM) and Kelsey (bartender / server), make you feel like family. ❤️
If you have kids, sit outside in the garden area,l. The kids can play in the garden while you watch them. I loved the truffle cream on the ricotta agnolotti. And super amazing wine list including wines from around the entire world!
Second time here. The presentation of the food is first class. The taste, oh the taste of every dish is to die for. Chef John Wayne is absolutely amazing.
Food was out of site delicious! Service was outstanding. Gracious owner & host. Having lived in Los Alamos for many years in the past coming bàck for a visit and delightful meal was awesome. Highly recommended.
Such a warm and friendly atmosphere! We were met with personable and neighborly greetings. The food was delicious, well rounded flavors and beautifully presented.
Very good food, nice atmosphere and exceptional service. For me, portions were perfect, but not the place to go if you're into large portions. Pricey.
Amazing chef driven menu, staff is on the ball. Great craft cocktails and killer dessert too. Patio is super cozy on a nice night
Everything fresh made and very tasty. The dishes are exceptional and the international wine list just perfect. Very friendly staff and a great chef.
The Tomato soup with grilled cheese was like no other. The flavors of the soup by itself is a must "to have"!! As the grilled cheese paired with the soup, will make your mouth explode with flavor and wanting more. .... Will definitely be back!!!!
The food was great and the service was above and beyond. They went out of their way to make sure that everything was to our liking, and made sure we were well taken care of.
Amazing meal. Great food and interesting environment. Definitely a hidden gem. The food isn't just a meal but rather an art piece and even a commentary on modern food.
They have an amazing wine selection. Their steak was fantastic, and the staff very friendly/efficient. I definitely recommend this place!
Had the Duck confit, pine nut crusted halibut, Brussels viet, and garden elixir cocktail. All were great! Will definitely be back!
Do not let the limited menu deter you from coming here. The flavors were fantastic and the service is impeccable. This will definitely be a "go to" spot for us.
1st place we did outdoor dining and they're consistently doing Covid precautions better than other restaurants. Food is great. Staff so friendly.
This is a must - an absolute must. If you are reading these reviews just stop. And GO. This restaurant has the sweetest ambiance but really it's the food your looking for and you will get it. The flavors were amazing. We didn't make reservations but they were sweet enough to get us a table. The food was life changing.
Apologies for not taking a picture, the food was too delicious and we forgot! Beautiful restaurant, really unique and delicious food. So many of the ingredients are fresh from the garden. Recommend getting a table outside in the garden. Even easy to get a table!
Beautiful late 1800s building with lots of stories and awesome staff. An extensive wine a liquor selection and food that was amazing and unique. Definetly try the Black cod chowder and the Pico burger! We left completely satisfied from here.
I don't have words to describe this experience here. The staff is more than wonderful AND the food is beyond the best. We over ate because we wanted so many different things off of the menu. They are also kid friendly. Meaning they not only accommodate children, but then have a whole kids room that is under the stairs. I've never dined somewhere so cute before.
Wow, this place is amazing. I went for burger Sunday and it was unbelievably delightful. The burger was one of the most creative culinary achievements I have ever had. The wine list was extensive and well displayed. The owners and the chef came over to say hello during the meal! Total quality. I will be back. Cowabunga
We celebrated our family Christmas gathering at Pico this year. The staff did an amazing job and the food and beverages were 5 star. Our group of 44 is already talking about making this beautiful venue an annual tradition. We highly recommend this memorable dining experience!
I didn't get to have dinner because I was there at 3 & they just offer drinks and meat & cheese plates until 5. The beer selection was excellent. I had a tank 7 farmhouse ale which was fabulous. Pico's decor is farm rustic with distressed wood & walls of wine. Very cool & the entre menu looked delicious. Some nice veggie dishes.
Our waitress was super nice. The food was absolutely incredible. I got a steak and truffle fries. These fries were some of the best I’ve ever had. Also you MUST get a cocktail as they are dynamite!
I don’t know what I did in my life to deserve the Pico Burger, but I’m clearly going to heaven. The first bite of the pico burger—after adding a splash of the garlic aioli and ketchup—was a seismic blast that irreparably changed my taste buds for the better. Like if this isn’t in the top 5 burgers you’ve ever tasted—you are LYING to yourself. To be fair I had gone on a wine tour in advance of this burger. So needless to say I was smiling. But oh wow. I was not ready. I recommend the added egg. The portion size is huge. So come hungry. Phew, I gotta go pray to the burger gods. I will be back.
What a wonderful restaurant! This is my favorite restaurant in this area. I love the variety of dishes - there is always something new on the menu. The crispy viet brussels are so good as was the pasta. I love to eat here each time I am on the central coast.
Great experience despite the change in ownership and chef in March 2020. My wife and I went here for our anniversary and enjoyed every dish we ordered (unicorn margarita, cava champagne, shrimp cocktail appetizer, salmon main course, hanger steak main course, Expresso Martini dessert drink, with some Italian dessert that starts with a "p" that I can't pronounce nor remember how to spell). The owner is prior military and gave a 10% military discount. The waitress and whole staff gave amazing service despite the COVID-19 limitations. This restaurant remains one of the absolute best in the Central Coast region.
Truly wonderful pairings. Excellent food and wine. The staff was attentive, helpful, and engaging. Even thouht this was an adult weekend, I loved the fact they had a kids space in a nice restaurant. This place is a gem.
We were so delighted with this unexpected find in Los Alamos - ate on a charming tree lined patio, had one of the best steaks ever, best martini too - and the cocoa nib gelato was positively worth the drive up from Orange County!! During Coved - staff wore masks and tables were 6 feet + from each other. Highly recommend this place...and stay at the Victorian Mansion for a truly spectacular experience!
The Fig Tagliatelle was incredible and will live in my memory as on of my most favorite ever. Don’t sleep on the chance to dine at Pico whenever you’re in the SY valley. Very impressive!
Beautiful space ( the food was top notch and very interesting) there is a wide variety of seating areas: from intimate, large private table, social overstuffed chairs, out-door areas, fire pit... The owners are excellent and demanding wine makers- but also carry a thoughtful collection of wines.
Dang, this place was good. All I got was a photo of our cocktails because everything else was inhaled. we got a burger, beet ziti, brussel sprouts, the bacon wrapped dates, and the clam toast. absolutely delicious, all of it. for dessert we tried a strawberry dessert that was like a mini-waffle with strawberry sorbet and strawberry boba.. it was like eating summertime. The staff was very attentive and kind. We will definitely be back for more!
We planned a dinner for a large group here and it was incredible! They were incredibly accommodating and helpful during the planning process. the server Kristin is AMAZING and the food was so so good. We will be back!!!
We decided to treat ourselves as it was the last night before we head back to San Diego. It was fantastic! Wait staff were lovely. Food was great and vibe excellent. While the menu can be a little overwhelming the servers were more than happy to help with one even adjusting our table after he noticed it was wobbly. Beautiful little spot in a beautiful little town.
Such a delicious meal and the staff were so sweet!
The food and atmosphere were amazing! The cocktails were unusual and delightful! Hailey and Bulmaro were so friendly and welcoming! Highly recommend!!
We had a spectacular meal here. The cocktails are wonder. I enjoyed my old fashion which had a unique twist and would have ordered another if I hadn't been driving. The appetizers are incredibly innovative and wonderful . The crispy cauliflower the Burarata and the Avocado crudo with caviar were so great I thought I was at a Michelin restaurant. The bacon praline served in a mini cast iron pan with maple syrup was out of this world. I could have just had two or three of these and been totally satisfied. But since we were sharing we had to continue on to the mains. And I must say my line caught halibut from Gaviota was perfect on a bed of jasmine rice. My partner had the pork chop which was also terrific. All the ingredients are sourced locally which made the entire meal all the more special. Hands down the best restaurant in the Los Olivos/Los Alamos area.
Pico was one of the best dining experiences we've had on the central coast. We compared the menus of all the dining options in Los Alamos and thought Pico's was what we were looking for that evening. The ambiance was lovely- not too loud, music just the right volume, perfect lighting. The food was excellent. I love a restaurant that can take a humble vegetable and turn it into something delectable. The winter risotto was out of this world. All the wait staff were wonderful- so professional, kind and attentive. We will definitely be returning!
Everything was delicious and we were here for restaurant week was very affordable prices and delicious meal! The service was attentive, and the ambience was beautiful and historical. The menu was just diverse enough to tickle your senses, and hold me enough to give you a taste of something you would like on any menu. Highly recommend, even though you may feel that you are entering a dustbowl era it is very much a gem.
One of the best meals I've ever had! The drinks and dessert are so delicious as well, you must try the panna cotta!
Lovely staff, great outside patio, and the food was delicious. We had the steak frites and little gem salad and both were great! I would definitely stop by again next time I am in the area. Drag Brunch was the same day and we were bummed we missed it!
Great food and service in a beautiful location, what more could one ask for? As I am vegetarian, I had the pasta-super flavorful. My husband ate every bite of his steak frites. Incredibly good Lumen wine, and the manager, Bonnie, is very kind and welcoming. Highly recommend!
Just fantastic! Wonderful historic space… but so spacious and beautifully decorated. Superb service. Fabulous extensive wine list, both local and global. Take advantage of the somm, Case; his recs were very useful. And the food… delicious, creative, plentiful! Gorgeous presentation. The Spanokopita from the owner’s grandmother’s recipe was the best I’ve ever had. Light and perfectly seasoned. The rabbit carnitas were simultaneously evocative of a traditional taquito and a fancy rabbit dish. The braised short rib in polenta was cooked perfectly and SO good with the Lumen Julia’s Vineyard Pinot Noir from Santa Maria. This is a destination dining experience and worth the drive and expense!
My husband and I booked a night at the Victorian Mansion as a spontaneous date night for our anniversary. Walked by Pico and decided to have our dinner there. Maria and her staff were amazing! The vibe was warm and welcoming. We ordered two old fashioned cocktails, which hit the spot. Crispy Cauliflower, avocado crudo were brought to our table and we’re delicious! Duck Cassoulet and Agnolotti ((chefs kiss)). My palate was awakened. Everything was great and Maria made sure we had an excellent anniversary dinner. Definitely clocking that in the memory bank. Thank you for an amazing time.
Pico is my new favorite restaurant in the SYV. We had a large group dinner planned for 14 people and Maria, the manager, was extremely helpful and kind in helping us plan this dinner party. She was very detailed and helpful with the group’s dietary restrictions and all of the food was incredibly delicious. Our whole group was blown away by the beautiful place settings, custom menus, name cards, cocktails, food and everything in between. We cannot express how grateful we are for such an incredible experience. Also, our server Kristen was fantastic and so kind. Thank you to the Pico team - we will definitely be back!
I first read about Pico in the Qantas in-flight magazine about 8 years ago. It piqued my interest because I have family in Los Alamos. The food looked great and to say that the wine list is extensive would be an understatement. Finally made it last night and it was fantastic. Friendly south west American service, great ambience, delicious food and fabulous wine pairing. We tried the beets with burrata, steak tartare (can I just say the beef in these parts of the US is absolutely spectacular), rabbit carnitas tostadas, crispy cauliflower and the rib eye special with fingerling potatoes and arugula. All was delicious. We paired it with a Nebbiolo which like the meal was excellent. Reluctant to bring the evening to a close we also ordered the berry crisp with ice cream for dessert. First class food and service but with that warm Californian vibe. Will be back! Thanks for a great night! Be sure to add this to your Central Coast road trip plans!
We stopped by Pico for lunch following a bike ride. Needless to say, we were very hungry, so enjoyed our food before taking many photos! All was spectacular! Haley, our server recommended tasty beverages to pair perfectly with our food. Haley is so intuitive and quick to grasp what a customer would enjoy eating and drinking. We ended up ordering several dishes over the course of our meal - avocado crudo, french fries, burrata salad, hamburger, pork chop entree, dessert and drinks. They have indoor and outside patio seating. Pico is one of our favorite local restaurants owned by a lovely family.
This was one of the only restaurants open when the rest of the town was closed on a random Wednesday- and we were so happy with our experience. Something happened to our server so we ended up getting helped by someone who ordinarily does other work busing tables etc and he was AMAZING!! He definitely should be promoted to server. He was so attentive, always approaching with a big smile and all three of us adored him! He also knew all about the food and drinks and had great recommendations. All of the food was amazing- next level! It was so good we even grappled over it lol. Obviously be prepared to spend a lot for small portion sizes but this was expected given the type of restaurant it is. There’s indoor and outdoor seating with heating. Both are equally charming.
It has been several years since I’ve been to this restaurant and I still dream about the food I had here! It is THAT good! Such a great experience. I’m absolutely coming back if I’m ever in the area!
Pico was one of the best, if not the best, dining experience. Our server Misty was so sweet and server assistant Danny was on top of everything. Chef John was an artist. He was also very attentive and accommodating to our diet restrictions. Also, wine expert Kase was very helpful with helping us find exactly what we were looking for. Thank you everyone for making our night so special!
Totally blown away by their food and wines. Everything was far better than I was expecting, and i didn't have low expectations as it's a nice place, it's a bit pricey but worth it. The wines were really good but double kudos to the chef, my goodness. Clam chowder, burger, vanilla custard gelato...om nom nom is a more honest description than excellent (which is good). Comfortable atmosphere but still elegant. Its a must in my book. With the wine yoga my wife is dying to try, hikes, and cottages we may come back from Sac area just for this. Even my dogs who were welcome outside had a hard time leaving:)
We made reservations at Pico for 3 pm on a Saturday and everything was phenomenal. Our server, Kerry (sp?), was fabulous and made the experience SO personal for us. She recommended items on the menu, explained the dishes to us, and make us feel like we were VIPs! The vodka and gin cocktails were DELICIOUS and definitely had a vintage-vibe to them. We had the olives which were in this olive oil that was so good, I sopped it all up with the bread provided. Then, we moved onto the beef tartar, which was my husband's favorite. After than, we had the steak frites - the steak was perfect and the horseradish sauce was perfect! We also had the beet salad...and lemme tell you, I'm still thinking about it! It was beets on a smoked cheese base with pistachios. (see pic) Just WOW. For dessert, we had the blueberry "hand pie" with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. What a gem!!! And the chickens meandering around didn't hurt either - they were SO CUTE!!! The restaurant is gorgeous, but the outside is just a slice of heaven. Definitely recommend!!
This was an amazing restaurant! We stopped in Los Alamos to use a bathroom while on a road trip, and this place called our eye. We ordered peach crumble, and it was exquisite! The peaches were from the tree that was in the back patio, and it hit the spot! Additionally, the service was amazing. Our server was so sweet and attentive. She paid great attention to small details and was extremely polite. The bathroom was also beautiful. That is not the main point of this review, however, it is worth noting that the bathroom was clean, with high-end soap, and very nice towels. Overall, if I were to stop through Los Alamos again, I would definitely come back for that crumble.
One of my favorite restaurants of all time. Chef puts so much time and thought into each part of the meal. It's incredible how such a small ingredient has so much r and d behind it, but you can tell.
We just left “burger night”. Our conclusion is that we will definitely be back to this place. I had the garbage plate which is a nod to Rochester where chef Drew told us he was from. It was sweet and spicy and the mustard woven into the mix was a really good idea. My partner had a plain burger no bun with bacon. It was sooooo flavorful!!! I’m getting that next time. The ambiance of this place is also stellar.. books and wine everywhere. The yellow dot dried flowers on each table.. prints of old time Los alamos on the walls. Heck I even loved the soap in the bathroom. There’s also a kids hideout/cave place.. how fun. They know what they’re doing in this place.
Very creative menu. Delicious food. Great service! I brought a bold cab but that didn't go well with the mostly Asian themed options. (I don't eat beef which would have gone better.) I'm sorry they changed the menu that way but the food is still great
This place is amazing. The rustic setting, welcoming vibe, intriguing menu, and friendly and classy service set the stage for the main attraction - food to die for. From starters through the entree, everything was perfectly prepared, visually appealing, and tasty. We'll be back again and again. Thanks for a wonderful dining experience.
Walking past this quaint general store you’d have no idea there was a beautiful expansive garden out back with fire pits and all. The burrata with smoked plum starter was fantastic, and we especially loved the Aloha Tuna. Wine selection was fantastic, staff was friendly, and everything felt very clean and safe. Will absolutely be back to this gem of a restaurant.

Stopped @ this spot for a cocktail prior to dining @ Bell's. Ended up getting an appetizer to hold us over till our dinner reservation +they had homemade rye corn bread a 1st for us we had to try...it was phenomenal!!!😋 Food, service & quality top notch! We can't wait to go back & actually dine.
We planned a dinner for a large group here and it was incredible! They were incredibly accommodating and helpful during the planning process. the server Kristin is AMAZING and the food was so so good. We will be back!!!
Pico is always good. Chef Drew is a madman in a good way. Sunday burger legendary. Good bar and drinks home of Lane Tanner Lumen wine.. Historic building in old stagecoach town.
The hanger steak was yum, but lukewarm. And I never want to share my truffle fries. I’m sure the bing bong cocktail was created just for me. Staff were sweet, but forgetful and sloooow.
I ordered the mussels (with shells and in broth) delicious! BUT had to pay $7 for a small piece of bread to go with! Ridiculous!
Brussels we’re great and polenta was yummy. Chicken and burger were decent. Food took a long time to come out
Cheeseburger and truffle fries were absolute perfection! Bone marrow tacos were delicious, but not a lot of meat. I would definitely recommend stopping here for a gourmet bite to eat. Expensive, but happy to pay for excellent food!
Excellent option to eat and enjoy good food around Los Alamos and Santa Ynez Valley. The burrata with persimon, and the shaved Brussels sprouts are winner appetizers. We would have given it 5 stars except for the wine recommendation - a 20 year old Cabernet that disappointed. Not only the wine but the aspiring sommelier that pushed a vinegar tasting wine with residue. We would certainly go back!
My wife and I ate dinner at Pico. Our cocktails were both excellent. Using a clear ice cube would bring the quality up a notch however. All of the food we had was also very good and worth the price. In particular, the cauliflower appetizer was outstanding. The service on this night was lacking. I wonder if our waiter was new. He was clearly not knowledgeable/confident in his description of the food when reviewing the menu and specials. Courses did not come out correctly spaced. When we asked for the check, the waiter had to come back to ask us which glasses of wine we had previously ordered. Overall, I would return.
I would give 3 and a half if I can. The setting is absolutely beautiful, as the servers, Bulmaro was the sweetest server I had in my life. Good wine, drinks and atmosphere. Why 3.5 The appetizer was tiny; we chose "crudo tuna," which literally meant a spoon-sized piece of tuna wrapped with avocado, with excessive soy sauce. The meat was very good. And the dessert was the same: a cramble with a scoop of ice cream that you could eat anywhere. All I'm saying is, if your prices are going to be high, you have to live up to it.
The town is wonderful and the space is beautiful. Great wine list and impressive cocktails that are perfect after a day of wine tasting. The food and service were both great. My only reason for a four star as opposed to five is that are main fish entree was over cooked. I would definitely go back and recommend it.
The service was lovely. However, the food left much to be desired. Very small portions, tasteless, and very salty. The best thing we had was the rye cornbread with honey butter and one of the special salads.
Having been here before for dinner and enjoying our experience, we tried brunch on a warm late October Sunday. My wife had the mimosa that had watermelon juice replacing the orange juice (the juice used varies weekly) while I had a Michelada which for me a bit under spiced through tasted okay. For starters we ordered the cinnamon rolls which were straight from the oven and very tasty. My wife had the special for the day which was a brioche covered with smoked bacon, shallots, a cream sauce all which were very good. Others at our table had the Spanish tortilla which came with a salad and though it tasted good the portion of the tortilla was on the smaller size. I went for the steak and eggs and while the steak was very well seasoned and cooked perfectly the frites ended up as waffle fries which were okay. Service was good and we appreciated her cheerful personality. While nice to have another local option for brunch wouldn't be high on our list due to the pricing though we will continue to come for dinner.
Ambience was good and cozy . We did one dos i.e grilled shrimp this was average nothing special but was decent and 2 Tres they are duck breast which was soft and yummy and whole branzino, am personally not a fish liking person but I enjoyed eating this recipe . The fish was cooked properly and decent seasoning so could taste the fish with little chopped onions and lime tasted delicious
This place was solid- creative menu and good service. I will say the structure of the menu is a bit confusing- it's split up into three different sections (uno, dos, and tres). Uno and dos kind of both fall into the appetizer category- it just seems unnecessary. Big fan of how most of the plants out back are harvested and used in the food. The waitress was nice but she used my full name from the credit card receipt- kind of off putting.

Unusually small portions for not so unusual or impressive food. Presentation not the best. Ex: Charcuterie board was 3 types of shaved meats in mounds and a piece of floppy grilled toast with a hard pickled persimmon. However, staff was very friendly and welcoming.
Nice atmosphere with good but not extraordinary food. But they make no effort to course the meal. Their menu is actually ordered “uno, dos, tres”, but they bring everything completely “juntos”, as in all at once like you get at McDonald’s. Lazy and unprofessional.
The food is so lovely and well crafted...I really want to love this place but the vegan options are abysmally unsatisfying. A small salad and an avocado for $23, meanwhile my partner sits there with a massive burger we paid a similar price for. Grains and legumes, you guys. Vegans will seriously thank you for it.
Based on the reviews I was expecting a gourmet meal. We started with a tuna crudo; I order the Buddah fried chicken and my husband ordered the steak. It wasn't terrible by any means, but for the price our dishes did not meet our expectations. Lovely atmosphere to say the least, but food is my number one requirement for a great review....this establishment just didn't meet my standards.
If you like Tapas portions for your entrée but priced at expensive entrée prices then this place is for you. Even when I eat at high end places such as Café Boulud, I usually can’t finish my meal but the Pico sized meal was designed for a child. I mean when the entrée says it comes with Brussel sprouts, you would expect more than one, not ¾ of a Brussel sprout. Really… there was not a full one on the plate. Added to that, it takes forever to get the food. We went through a waiter shift change before we got our entrée and our waitress was sitting and drinking at the bar before we even got our main entrée. The food does taste good so at least they have that going for them. Just remember to eat before you get there then it is a much more enjoyable experience!
I had company from out of town and was excited about taking them there for dinner, as i had been there was before and it was excellent. Can't tell you what a disappointment it was. We had the pasta with a vegetable sauce, not only was it tasteless, but the pata itself was mushy. Another friend had the salmon which was very dry and not much flavor.to it. I like to give a place 3 tries, specially during these times as so many have had to go through so many changes. The price of the pasta was 20 dollarsc which i wouldn't have minded , i didn't even want to bring home my leftovers. I do have to say our young waitress was great. I think that she realized how disappointed we were .like i said, will try it once more
We had a dinner party at Pico about a week ago. The venue was very cool, however, everyone in our group was disappointed by the food and service. I will not be going back. I suspect most of the people in our group will not be going back either. The majority of people in our group drove about 45 minutes to get there and it wasn't worth the trip. I ordered the bone-in short rib and my wife had the halibut. The halibut was overcooked and very dry and the portion was small. Everyone in our group who had the halibut had the same experience. My shortrib was remarkably tough and anything but "fall-off-the-bone." In fact, I quit eating half-way through my meal because it was too much work, even with a steak knife. Other people in our group had the same experience. Our meals came with small salads to share for the table. Each table had 2 salads to serve 6-8 people. The salads were tasty but scarcely enough for 2-3 people, let alone 6-8. The service was poor too and several people ended up bussing their own dishes or going down to the bar to order drinks due to the lack of service. I suspect the owner(s) overcommitted to having a private party, along with being open to the public, and they just couldn't or wouldn't cater properly to their guests. This strikes me as greedy. The owners should have had the foresight to hire more staff and/or close the restaurant for our private event. Instead, they chose to chase the dollars, which will certainly backfire on them. At this rate, I suspect they will be out of business within the year. Our meals were also really expensive and the tab came out to about $185 per couple, which included a couple of bottles of wine for the table to share. This strikes me as ridiculously high for the quality of food we received and the lack of service. Finally, several days ago, the person who organized the event reached out to the owner and various staff members to tell them about our experience. There was zero acknowledgment, no apology whatsoever and no attempt to make things right. This strikes me as totally unacceptable and unprofessional.
Honestly one of the more disappointing meals I’ve experienced. Our cut of the steak had a lot of tendon, making two slices inedible for what was already a smaller cut. Overcharged for our drinks after having to send a flat sparkling wine back. Oysters quality was questionable (understanding there was some power outages that day). Whoever created the menu, must think they are too good for standard dipping/hot sauces. They aren’t. Don’t serve extremely spicy hot sauce with oysters with no backup alternative. A little Tabasco goes a long way. For the steak frites we received an overly engineered ranch sauce, and only after asking. The longer I think about this dinner and the price I paid, the more bummed I get.
Way over priced for such a small portion of food. We ordered a cheese plate and it came with one tiny piece of bread. We were two people, had one glass of wine each and the bill was just under $100.00. I don't mind spending that kind of money once in a while,as long as the food is excellent and plentiful.
UPDATED REVIEW, -4 STARS Food is pretty good, but the service "to go" is/was horrible and now "to go" is no longer offered at all. The last time I ordered, it took 45 minutes, and all I was offered was a glass of wine for the wait... I don't drink. Food was cold by the time I walked it around the block, so I imagine that my $150 meal had sat on a counter somewhere for a while, beforehand. I tried to go again last week, but was left standing by the host stand until I finally just walked out. Tonight, I was told there is no longer take out service... in a continuing pandemic. This repeat customer local won't be back, and is highly disappointed. Dead review: Best dinner I have had in a long time! I had the heart of ribeye and my wife had the quail. Both were cooked perfectly and absolutely fabulous. Also tried out the stuffed squash blossoms and the mushroom salad... but the appetizer that stood out was the CANDIED BACON! pro tip- CANDIED BACON
The stepladder cheese appetizer was overpriced for what you received. A mouse would have been disappointed you would be lucky if you received an Oz of cheese on the board
