Food is Halal, which is good to know. Nice selection of appetizers, I would recommend the lamb chops. Great for sharing, there were three "double" chops. The main dishes were ok, not bad at all but not as good as some of the other "high" Indian restaurants.
Always great place for Indian food. they dont have lunch buffet now l. We had Tandoori non veg plattar, Chicken curry, Dal Bukhara, Goat curry, Rice and moong daal ka halwa. Food was really tasty and their Naan Bucket is a great option which carries, Ajwaini Parantha, Naan, Garlic naan, kulcha. We enjoyed it alot. salty lassi was just Ok. Chai was good. Overall good experience.
A large restaurant. Plenty of dining place in the first floor and large event space in the second floor. Food was great, especially tandoori chicken. Mutton was pretty good as well. And I like their raita. Service was really good. We asked which dishes contained nuts and they ran back to the kitchen and quickly returned with the answers for us.
This is for Amber india Milpitas location All the food items prepared by Head chef Shiv were on point and mouth watering, good portion size, decent ambiance( can use work, if they want this location to thrive for dine-in), and absolutely a great value value for the buck! For reference I Have had palak chat at Ettan, and I liked Amber's palak chat way better than Ettan ( portion size, flavors and the $$ ). The tandoori chicken was sizzling and delish! I went there for butter chicken and it came out to be as I wished for. The server Venkatesh was very pleasant and took great care of our party. Definitely coming back for the yummy food. Thank you!
Went for the lunch buffet and left with a food coma :P Great food, ambience, and service. The chaat corner was build your own, which was nice since i could make the Pani puri, bhel, or papdi chaat to my liking. The dahi vada and samosas were pretty good as well. For the mains, the kadhai paneer (spicy) and kadi pakora were fantastic with the crispy thin garlic naan. The saffron rice and daal tadka were rich in flavor. And to finish it off for dessert, the sweets, besan burfi and gaajar halwa, were made just right. Definitely worth going back
Was skeptical to dine here last night after our takeouts during the pandemic were mediocre. Glad we supported this local restaurant. Food was amazingly delicious, flawlessly cooked, we ordered Paneer tikka , Manchurian and 3 vegetarian curries, what a burst of flavors , each dish was unique. Gobi Manchurian was not too greasy and yummy . The service was fantastic . Recommend this restaurant. Loved the ambience too.
I go there at least once a week. Food is always amazing! My favorite is mixed grill and goat. They also do lunch buffet on the weekends. Prices are reasonable, food is A1 and service is great!

Love the food here! The palak paneer is so creamy and delicious -- I could eat it all day. The tandoori chicken is also juicy and tasty. I can't find a better mango lassi than the one here.
Good ambience, excellent food. Service was good as well. Menu choices seemed limited.
Expensive, but delicious. \n\nIn my opinion it's worth it. Got takeout so can't speak on the service, but the ambiance looks great

Highly recommended by locals, Amber India at Los Altos lures you with spacious seating, excellent service and a superb array of delicious dishes.
Nice interior. Location is a bit weird (difficult to find) but plenty of parking. My girlfriend and I had dinner without dessert or alcohol and spend $100 including tip which I consider expensive. Weird was that I ordered Roti (Naan-like bread made of whole grain wheat flour) that looked exactly the same as normal Naan which is made of white wheat flour.
We've been coming to Amber since they were in the older location, the food has remained consistently high - justifying the $27 price for the lunch buffet. The paani poori, dahi vada, paneer masala, kaadi, and tandoori chicken were all great today. The sooji halwa and bhel were both meh. The naan was late (even after we asked for it), soft and disappointing. Service was slow today, all restaurants are having staffing issues hence it is understandable. We recommend going to Amber over all other restaurants in Mt. View.
Out of all the 50 states, California has the most Indians. To translate, the Golden State should have the best Indian food. Since we are here during winter break, we are testing this theory. We usually eat in Jersey, but California is giving New Jersey a run for its money. We went here for lunch today, to meet up with family from all around the world. First things first, we obviously met everyone there, but then we got to chowing down on some food. To start off, we had to get the classic, somewhat. Since it was a buffet, you could get whatever you wanted rather than ordering. The classic (butter naan, paneer tikka masala, and mixed vegetable subji), was modified. Like yesterday, we benched paneer tikka masala, and started shahi paneer at the point. That substitution was great, like benching Russell Wilson for Jaxson Dart. The gravy was exploding with flavor, and the mixed vegetable subji was perfect. I didn't get the tandoori chicken, but my son and daughter did, so I let them drop a quote in the reveiw. Quote my kids, "The tandoori chicken was good, it didn't have much flavor though. Now can I have my phone back bro?". You heard it from them. For dessert, there weren't many options. They had a table with a few desserts and some chaats. The desserts I got was a chocolate mousse, and a mango mousse. Both of them were a really good sweet treat, and they were probably the best things in the restaurant. All in all, I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the area since the food has so much flavor, but it still isn't top tier. That's why, this place gets four stars for food, three for service as the naan and roti came after we finished our first two plates, and three for atmosphere, as it wasn't very packed. So, this place gets four stars in total.
Very spacious restaurant, amd wonderfully welcoming too! The buffet spread was great for vegetarians too, with a lot of tasty options. The chicken tikka masala was creamy, and so different from what we are used to eating. The Goan fish curry was cooked to perfection. The paneer corn was comforting and satisfying. The service was genuinely attentive from start to finish. Plenty of room to enjoy your meal without feeling crowded. The outdoor space is a whole mood with brightly colored chairs. The only miss was the gulab jamuns, they were a bit rubbery for my taste. But with everything else shining so bright, that’s easy to forgive. I’d definitely be back!
My first time here! I had gobi Manchurian so yummy, samosas was a bit small but there’s 4-5 in a serving, then we had chole(garbanzo) a bit different very thick sauce I thought it was okay and of course roti which was delicious Service was outstanding and the place it self it’s big they were having a wedding up stairs, the downstairs is super cute with outdoor seating area. As for price is more than I expected we had 2 appetizers and shared the chole and it was $60 including tip.
The ambiance is welcoming with outdoor seating arranged neatly. We savored numerous dishes, finding them all delightful. While the prices are slightly higher compared to other Indian eateries I've visited, the location warrants it. Improving the authenticity of their bathrooms could enhance the overall experience; during our visit, we noticed a lack of soap shortly after the restaurant opened. Despite this, I recommend it for those seeking a spacious, well-seated dining experience with friends or colleagues, willing to overlook the pricing for atmosphere.

The staff is good , but the food quality is dropped down since it was in Santana row .. The veggies , the chicken, the fish is just not good . The Nan was reheated , the gulab jamun was too hard . …
Very good food within a spacious yet warm restaurant that even has outside dining . Many many vegetarian options, and one can choose the spice level
Really liked the ambience and the overall service. Also, quite clean Went to Diwali buffet. We paid about 45$ + 20% + tax + tip per person Restaurant closes at 2:30pm and we arrived at 2pm. Food was, well, not that good. It was cold and really oily. In terms of variety, they do have good spread. They covered street food, tandoori, modern indian salads and north Indian. If you are vegetarian or don’t eat goat, you will have less option in main course. Sweets were nice, since we arrived late, we did missed some. Tandoori items were biggest disappointment. They were cold and kept in a way that made it worse I kept my mini samosa next to (pav) bhaji and it got drenched in the (bhaji’s) oil. Fish dish had a layer of oil. I wish i had taken the photo this review. Almost everything we ate, was cold. Wouldn’t recommend the buffer. For the price, places like Ettan, Aurum is much better Fyi- They keep spice level to low…
Visited this place again after a long time and was surprised to find it quite empty. One noticeable issue was the odd smell inside—possibly from non-veg dishes—which made the indoor seating area less appealing. An air freshener or better ventilation would definitely help. The staff was friendly and courteous, which was a plus. The food itself was decent, but the portion sizes—especially for the appetizers—felt quite small for the high prices. The curry was okay, nothing particularly memorable or unique. Ambience also felt a bit dated and could use some updating to match the pricing. Overall, it’s a place with potential but needs some tweaks to feel truly worth the visit.

Went in with a lot of hopes for a team lunch, almost everything I tried turned out flat. I am not sure what the ala carte menu looks like, seeing as its gotten a lot of praise. The buffet was downright appalling. There were literally only 2 chicken items and the rest was again.. not worth it. I usually try to eat everything i get, but i just got the food taken away when the waiter came to check on us.
One of the worst dining experiences I’ve had.the food is tasteless, and the quality is outright poor. When I raised this at the counter, the staff was dismissive and uninterested, making it clear that customer feedback means nothing here. If you value your money or your time, stay away
Amber quality has gone DOWNHILL. The lunch buffet experience was absolutely terrible. The food was lukewarm, there were not enough chicken or fish pieces in the curries to enjoy, the service was extremely slow where we had to ask for naan multiple times, and they charge an automatic 20% gratuity for large parties for doing little to nothing. TERRIBLE VALUE FOR YOUR MONEY! There are much better indian buffet restaurants elsewhere that are cheaper
