Avis sur A.O.C. Los Angeles
My boyfriend brought me here for Valentine’s Day. We had a wonderful time in the private space upstairs. The owner came around a few times to make sure we were doing well and the waiters were attentive. We addressed the restaurant directly with some concerns we had about the dining but everything in the moment was delightful.
I love this cozy intimate restaurant. The service is top shelf from the beginning to end! The perfect spot for my Birthday or any gathering! Feels like Home with a twist of style! Thank you Carolyn and your amazing team! Well done! I'll be back!
Absolutely delicious! Everything tasted SO fresh, I enjoyed each and every dish we tried. We ordered: Farmers plate - greater starter to snack on Arugula salad - it was nice, a bit basic and amongst everything we ordered I’d say you could skip this but it’s nice to have salad on the side Spanish fried chicken - WOW! I don’t know what they’re doing with respect to seasoning but this was amazing, standout dish Sea bass - flaky, delicious, uniquely presented Sunchokes - very seasonal and they were super yummy, the sauce used was delicious and paired great with the rooty flavor of the sunchokes The cocktails and wine were also fabulous, and stellar service all around from the staff. Will definitely be back!
The food was really delicious I like the starter vegetable platter. The vegetables were so tasty and so fresh I could definitely tell it was farmed. I have the sea bass it was really delicious probably the best sea bass I've ever had. My friend had the skirt steak and she loved it. The dessert was pretty good too The apple tart the middle was the best part.
Came here with two friends for Dine LA! First time being here. It was great. The food is so tasty, the chicken was juicy even though it was breaded. The portions are large, even though they may appear small. The wait staff are very attentive. Overall, it was a seamless experience with great food, ambient lighting and a cute outdoor porch area. Great date night place as well. I don’t drink alcohol however they do have an array of cocktails and a very extensive wine list.
We enjoyed a nice dinner during our visit to LA. The focaccia was delicious and had a perfect crust. I ordered the fried chicken and it was so tender and juicy. The portion sizes are smaller and meant for sharing. We ended up being quite full after our meal. The food was very good, but didn’t blow us away. All very simple and fresh, so can’t complain! The restaurant itself is very nice and great for a nice dinner.
The food here is absolutely delicious. We came for their prefixed menu on New Year’s Eve and every single item that we chose was absolutely amazing, it was also the perfect portion size for us. The crab fritters was so good and every ingredient that was combined for the dishes were so perfect. The cheesecake was phenomenal and I would definitely go back to try their regular menu.
I must say I had such a pleasant experience at this restaurant. Firstly the valet service was really on point. Walking in we were greeted by pleasant people. You really felt like they were happy to have you. We were offered a nice booth which still was spacious and separated from others. There are options here to eat on the patio area also but we chose indoors. Had a great experience with our server Suzanne and also Mike. There was another guy can't remember his name but I know that his son also worked there before or presently he was great. We felt like royalty, thank you. The food was great and tasty. To top it off the wait wasn't long and it was Mother's Day oh, wow.
A.O.C is a cute wine bar serving market focused small plates that highlight the fresh flavors of each season. The wine list is extensive and the cocktails are all unique with a twist. This was the perfect setting for a girls night as we got to try a variety of menu items paired with our delicious cocktails. @eatswithedith on Instagram for more detailed reviews! 🍽Ordered: 1. The farmer’s plate - roasted vegetables, hummus, burrata & grilled toast: 10/10 I could taste how fresh the grilled veggies were and the toast was so great with the different dipping options. The burrata was super fresh and light while the hummus was dense and flavorful. 2. Focaccia with grilled white trumpet mushrooms, asiago, taleggio & sherry: 9/10 This dish was decadent and pungent. The mushrooms had an overpowering fragrance and added an earthy taste to the strong cheese. 3. Grilled sea bream, coconut rice, spicy greens, cashews & kumquat sambal: 10/10 This was one of the highlights of the night! The spicy marinade was so delicious and the coconut rice gave this dish a nice balance of sweetness. 4. Clams, sherry, green garlic & toast: 10/10! All I can say is.. I could eat 10 pieces of toast with the amazing sauce that the clams were cooked in. This dish reminds me a lot of the clams dish at DAMA which I adore as well. 5. Weiser farm fingerlings, crème fraîche & chives: 6/10 The texture of this dish threw me off as I like crispy potatoes a lot more than mashed. Also, the creme fraiche was a bit overpowering and overall the dish lacked flavor. 6. Chocolate torte - hazelnut praline, espresso cream & candied hazelnuts: 7/10 This dessert had a strong chocolate flavor which I liked! 💰Price: $88/person with 2 drinks
Hostess was kind of a train wreck but everything else was spectacular!!! The Spanish fried chicken rocks. The pasta was on point! The soft shell pasta was fantastic. Waitress was very accommodating. Don't try the octopus squid rice if your not into very "seafood" tasting dishes. You'll know what I mean if you try it. I was, however, puzzled by why the consumer has to pay an extra 5% for health insurance for its employees. I'm all for insurance but shouldn't that come out of the owners' expenses and not charge on top of what they are charging? Bizarre. Didn't have an issue paying it this time but it is very hard to swallow when you do not get a waiter like ours today.
Quite the romantic spot! Their outdoor patio is open and they’ve created a brand new outdoor space that’s probably tripled their number of tables. We ordered a bottle of Syrah and split several items. Spanish fried chicken is a MUST. Bacon wrapped dates were great bc the bacon was super crispy and they weren’t greasy (ya know?). We had the tomato+chorizo+pesto focaccia and, although good, I wouldn’t recommend due to the size of the dish (and I was hoping it would be more of a traditional focaccia). We also got the farmer’s plate (nice and more veg friendly) and the pear+hazelnut salad (I liked, my partner said it was skippable). Would love to go back with guests from out of town!
I will dream of the potatoes we ate here for the rest of my life and beyond. Came with friends for DineLa and ordered everything on the menu. Not a single bad bite but the potatoes were the stand out. Desserts were not too sweet on a good way. Good bar program. Som came and helped us with our wine choices. Serving was familiar and casual but knowledgeable. Pacing was a little off switch a few previous course items left on table while next course was served but it was a fun, fancy tavern vibe.
Lovely ambiance in the courtyard! Tapas style French food that has a comfy yet elevated touch. The fingerling potatoes are a delicious cheesy mess that was creamy yet light. Highlight of the night! Really enjoyed the salads and Spanish Fried Chicken too. Service was on top of things and very attentive. Very California vibes and feel. Good space for a smaller group or a date night too.
Lovely atmosphere to have Sunday brunch. Made a reservation and was seated right away. The waiter was nice and attentive without having to ask for anything. My only negative was that my party and I were sharing all of the food and we requested that everything be brought out at the same time and it was not leaving some of the food cold. We were also a little disappointed in the Spanish Friend Chciken and waffles as it wasn't as flavorful as we thought it would be, but thankfully we also ordered the sweet potato hash which was much better. We came around 1030 am or so which was perfect because it can get really crowded especially on Sundays. There is some street parking and valet is available.
Cute terrace with very chilled vibes. Great for dates, music is amazing - all out oldies. Plates are very small so I recommend ordering 3-4 and sharing! Loved the farmers plate, how doesn’t love hummus and burrata? The market fish was good, veggies were over salted. Prawns were also delicious. Service was super friendly, prices are high.
1️⃣adrift & tonic (non alcoholic drink)- The flavor was quite unique, though my boyfriend found it hard to get used to—likely due to the strong cucumber taste. Personally, I found it interesting; while the first sip felt unfamiliar, it grew on me over time. 2️⃣bleeding hearts (non alcoholic drink)- Excellent and refreshing with a tangy, sour profile. However, those who prefer sweeter drinks might not enjoy their non-alcoholic offerings, as they lean towards sour flavors. This drink is a great choice for pomegranate lovers. 3️⃣clams -The clams were fresh and sweet, and the broth paired wonderfully with the bread. Unfortunately, the toast was overly hard, making it difficult to bite into. If it were softer, it would have complemented the broth even better.✅✅✅ 4️⃣duck-The duck was beautifully prepared, showcasing classic techniques. However, the sauce underneath—possibly vinegar-based—was slightly salty, which may overpower the dish for some. Yet, I still recommend it to everyone who visits here.✅✅✅ 5️⃣arroz negro (black ink rice)-Though it looked small, it was surprisingly filling. Adding larger pieces of squid would enhance the texture. The black ink sauce was rich and flavorful, delivering a distinct oceanic essence throughout.✅✅ 6️⃣panna cotta (dessert)- A must-order for panna cotta enthusiasts! Esp if u like cheesy and milky dessert. * It's a bit strange that this restaurant includes a 6% healthcare surcharge for their employees. I don’t quite understand the point of explicitly mentioning it on the menu. The message says, "A 6% charge is included in your bill, but if you’d prefer not to pay, just let us know." To be honest, it feels a bit like moral pressure—I've already left a tip, and now there's an additional 6% charge. Including it on the menu makes it feel unexpected and somewhat uncomfortable. Everything was a total 153.70 (including 6%) and den w tax + tips, which turned out to be 198usd 👹lol (this is the reason why I left a 3, it was supposed to be 4) oh and valet parking is 12usd, which is fine
Atmosphere is great. However, ordered my burger medium and it was definitely well done. They comped the burger when I pointed this out which was very nice but service was still lacking. We had to wait too long for just water, utensils, and had to flag our server for anything. Really wanted to like this more as it is so pretty. Food was average.
It’s all right. The food items are somewhat tasty. I liked a lot few appetizers. Our server was great. The cocktail’s and beers menu is very limited. My cocktail pretty much had just ice in it and barely any flavor. It’s really overpriced what if is, especially taking in consideration that many patio feels like Covid parking lot. There is little effort put into decoration. The only good thing it’s 1 min walking from my house.
