Hidden gem in Little Tokyo, Mediterranean food that pops off inside of a bar. Great environment... Great service extremely quality food. The sauces were on point.
Love the music, bf got the streetcar fries with chicken as the protein and wow wow , the fries are so crisp and fresh, staff very attentive and welcoming. Fresh, spacious and colorful environment, left full n happyy
Came here for a quick snack and a drink and was pleasantly surprised. Everything was great and the food was good and the bar tender went above and beyond to make our drinks extra good. Def a great spot to come have a drink and bite if you’re in the area. A hidden gem.
Loved this place. Got the remix bowl and sweet potato fries. The sauces are amazing. Love the aesthetic. Will definitely go back.
I got lucky with the parking out front, but not inside because of their BOGO soft opening deal. It was packed with a small line to order. I had takeout, so forgive the togo containers in the photos. I got the Street Cart Wrap with beef and lamb, as well as the Berliner Bowl with chicken and quinoa. I ate nearly a 1/3 of the bowl and 1/2 the wrap. The flavors were very addictive. This was a comfort food I never knew I needed. Such freshness and I loved the texture of all the ingredients in the salad. The berliner sauce had a pleasant tang to it. The Wrap had a garlic aioli that I wish I had more to dunk with. Definitely worth checking out.
First time here. My son and I had lunch. Cooks and waiters were friendly, the place was clean, love that they have self serve water and doggie bag items available++ and the food was delicious! Had the Remix bowl with beef and lamb; their lemon dressing sauce was amazing! My son had the Berliner bowl They had three different sangrias available my son had the white sangria and he said it was good. Nice music, people, and space to eat outside if you like.
Been coming here for years, and they just keep improving and getting better. Their menu has expanded to include bowls, and those are now my favorite. The bar went through a recent renovation, the flow of the restaurant is much better. They still have all the cool art work in there. Seasonal cocktails are delicious, I love any of their sangria twists. Their house red wine is really good too, slightly carbonated - which was different but totally refreshing. Plenty of vegan and gluten free options here. I got their chicken bowl and there was enough to take home for a second meal later. Hummus is made fresh and tastes amazing. I like how they have sauces that I fell in love with at Trader Joe’s - like the Zhoung green sauce and this red Harissa chili sauce - SO good. Super comforting to have those sauces cause it reminds me of my kitchen! Definitely a trendy place - come here for work meetings, come here on a date, or com here with some friends for a healthy meal.
This place is great is many aspects. The food concept is mediterranean with a california twist and I liked it - being mediterranean myself! Their menu is small and compact but not the easiest to understand besides it’s compactness. The wraps which are the main thing there were really good - not mindblowing but above good. Another impressive fact about this restis the ambience which is fantastic (see my pictures for reference). Prices and service were fantastic as well! Deservedly 5 stars.
First off the service was stellar . Our disheveled group took awhile to make a final order, but the servers were nice and provided suggestions until we were finished. Most importantly, the food... 🔥🔥💯You feel like you’re getting a steal for such good quality... portions are also sized perfectly IMO. Will be back soon!!
Spitz in Little Tokyo is an absolute gem for Mediterranean street food with a modern, laid-back twist. The vibe is fun, artsy, and perfect for a casual lunch or dinner with friends. I ordered the Street Cart Doner Wrap and Sweet Potato Waffle Fries—both were packed with flavor and super satisfying. The portions are generous, the ingredients taste fresh, and their house sauces take everything to the next level. Bonus: great vegetarian options too! The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the local craft beer selection is a solid plus. If you’re craving something different and delicious in downtown LA, Spitz is a must-try.
I love this place. The food is on point: fresh and delicious but not “healthy” tasting. They’ve also got a well curated beer selection. Both the hazy and the west coast IPAs were great. I also like the vibe. Good music. Cozy interior. Feels like home. I also need to shout out Juan, who was working the bar on my most recent visit. He took the time to explain their beers, did a great job handling a diverse set of customers and let me know about their catering options, which we might just use. My place of work is just around the corner. Whenever I’m back in LA for work, Spitz will be my go-to for lunch, dinner, and drinks
downtown Los Angeles around Civic Center is becoming a food / drink desert....... a lot of the best places that were around for decades all disappeared after covid........ really happy we still have Cafe Dulce... everything about it is great other than them having only one register to process the throngs of people that come through there........ still, it does the job with excellent beverages, delicious treats (I bought one of their chocolate cheesecakes to take to my family for Christmas and they loved it...... price was reasonable), and friendly and engaging staff....... the guys I work with and I usually hit this place at least three or four times a week
The Blueberry Matcha and Regular Matcha were phenomenal. Huge shoutout to John for the best customer service. He was so chill and cool to chat with. Excellent recommendation of the Strawberry Roti, it was the perfect snack for the trip! Always look forward to making a Cafe Dulce visit a part of the LA Trip!
First time here, parking can be tricky, expect to walk, and expect a line depending on the time of day you go. Located in the corner of a shopping center so a little tucked away, can’t be seen from the street. Short line that moved quickly, breakfast food is available, as well as their fancy donuts and dessert breakfasts, we got a matcha latte and a Vietnamese coffee, both full of flavor, great size for the price as well. Lots of seating inside and out while you wait. Drinks came out quickly. Friendly helpful staff. Highly recommend annnd will definitely be returning.
I ordered a premium hot matcha latte (without any sugar, syrup, or sweeteners) for $8.50, and I’m absolutely happy with my order! 😍 The barista used a generous amount of matcha powder 🍵, and it was exactly what I needed to stay energized for an evening walk with friends through Little Tokyo. Every staff member was super friendly and had such positive vibes! ✨ I’ll definitely be back to try their iced matcha and other items on the menu!
Got the dulce latte with oat milk (vegetarian, not vegan!) and the breakfast burrito with avocado instead of meat, my friend got the daily drip! Vegetarian options were great and they had labeled vegan donuts in the display. My latte was INCREDIBLE, and the burrito hit every spot it needed too.
Nice café in Little Tokyo with a great selection of drinks, sandwiches, salads, and sweet treats. Perfect for a casual stop any time before the kitchen closes at 6 PM. Drinks from $4.00 to $7.25 They offer coffee (drip, espresso-based, cold brew, Vietnamese), matcha options (classic, blueberry, unsweetened), iced teas, and tea lattes like masala chai and Hong Kong style. Custom options include iced versions, extra espresso, and non-dairy milk. Sandwiches from $10.50 to $13.00: Ham & Cheese (Jambon), Turkey Swiss, Pesto Chicken, Dulce Club, Apple Tuna, Caprese, Portobello Burger (vegetarian), Pastrami, Spicy Korean Cheesesteak All sandwiches come with a fresh side salad. I had the Ham & Cheese without mustard - it was excellent. The Turkey Swiss is equally good. Salads from $12.00 to $13.00: Peanut Kale, Caprese, Cranberry Walnut, Mango Jicama Chicken, Asian Chicken Protein add-ons (chicken, avocado, or tuna) available for $2.50. Breakfast from $10.00 to $12.95: - Breakfast Burrito or Breakfast Sandwich (choice of bacon, sausage, or avocado) - Ranchera Steak Burrito Extras like egg or meat can be added. Desserts They also serve a variety selection of sweets: cakes, donuts, cream puffs and cakes.
NO GIMMICKS, JUST AMAZING FOOD & COFFEE! My bestie found this delightful cafe in the heart of Japanese Village Plaza. We were looking for a good breakfast spot and WOW, this was great! He got a breakfast burrito and I got a egg sandwich with ham and spinach. It's safe to say we definitely enjoyed our meal. Next, I ordered a cold brew with oatmilk which was served with a little tin cup. The coffee wasn't too strong and was a perfect pick-me-up. Lastly, we both ordered vegan coconut donuts as this place is famous for their bakery items! This was one of the best vegan donuts in the LA area. If you're a plant-based diva you need to try this! The service was solid, the girl at the counter was respectful and mellow. The staff seemed to really enjoy their job and the ambiance was great. All customers looked happy both inside the cafe and in the outdoor patio tables. The cafe is modern and cozy. It's got Japanese and Hispanic influence for sure! I think this is a GREAT spot to have a visit with a friend and chat about life.
We wanted some coffee and saw everyone with a dulce cup so we obviously had to try some . This place always has a line ! They have some interesting unique desserts 🍮 we were too full from the crepe earlier down the street and just wanted some coffee . We chose the Vietnamese iced coffee . Four shots of espresso shaken with condensed milk. It was refreshing , delicious and not that sweet - really enjoyed it !
I & my wife very enjoyed going to this cafe in the morning, because is the morning is not that crowded, and can slowly enjoy breakfast sandwich & morning coffee at this cafe, the coffee is good, but the most delicious is the breakfast sandwich, the sauce on the sandwich is perfect not too rich and can taste everything. Good little Tokyo, it feels like you in Japan the same, of course the price is not high at all, one coffee one matcha latte and one breakfast sandwich, only cost me $23
Love the place, although it is very much a made up version of Mediterranean food. Everything is tasty except the pita chips. I think they are way too oily. The wraps are always on point but they have something that annoys me at every branch and every truck. The paper wrapper. PLEASE stop sticking it inside the actual wrap. I’ve taken a bite of it once and have to take it out of my food almost every time. The bowls are also great. Love the drinks and the 22oz beer BUT the sangria is like it doesn’t have any alcohol in it. Straight up juice to keep u getting more. I don’t like that. It sounds like a bunch of negative things but I’ll keep it 4 stars I like this place overall.
Went there on a Saturday night, after theater. We love the atmosphere and the contemporary style of the place. It's the perfect place for a drink or for some good food at a reasonable price. All the items on the menu can be made with the vegetarian or vegan option, with the choice of sandwiches or wraps, plus salads and their unique fries The staff is friendly and there is a good selection of craft beers.
Came here on a Saturday night. The vibes was like a bar. We ordered the Mediterranean fries (which are amazing). Servers and employees were nice. Would come again during the day.
Overall: 4.2/5 (Postmates delivery) The food delivered earlier than expected. I liked the food but had better. However, I was able to get a huge chunk of my daily vegetable intakes from it so I'm happy. Doner Basket ($16.75): The portion is huge so we had leftovers enough for another meal. Their fried pita stick was hard so I wasn't a fan. You can customize your fries so we got mixed sweet potato and regular fries. The sweet potato fries are the waffle version and were clearly better than the regular fries where were starchy. We got beef, lamb, and chicken for our protein. Beef and lamb gyros were thinly sliced while the chicken was cut into cubes. The lamb didn't have a smell or gamey taste while the chicken was dry. I also didn't really like their falafel mix. The rest of the toppings went well with the salad. Street Cart Diner Wrap ($14.75): This was a big wrap that they cut in 2 for you; I ate one of the halves and was full. For my protein, I got beef, lamb, and chicken and felt that this wrap had more meat than veggies while the reverse is true for the Doner Basket. Nothing really stood to me about the wrap; everything blended in to create a homogenous wrap. I think there was a lot more flavors in the Doner Basket. Single Doquito ($7.50): This actually comes with 2 rolls and was the best item out of everything we ate. This is way better and like an elevated version of the Mexican taquito. A Doquito is a fried lavish bread rolled in feta, onion, and aioli. The flavors were on point and it was fried to perfection. It didn't get soggy even with all the additional toppings smothered on top.
The Berliner was my favorite. Didn’t like the Doner basket as much as the Berliner but it was still filling for the price. The Doner basket has everything in it and I thought it’d be more my speed but was just ok. Gives me lunch vibes or something quick vibes. Bartender was delightful, food came out fast and feels healthy. The beef-lamb meat is flavorful. Didn’t like the falafel. Strong and unique drinks. I’d recommend this place for a quick bite. $15 Flat rate parking garage near by. They should validate parking
Our search for Mediterranean food got us to Spitz in Little Tokyo. Surprisingly, I have crossed this place a couple of times and never tried it. The interiors are quite colorful, with almost a bar like feel. We were greeted by the staff who handed us a menu. You've have to order at the counter and the food arrives at your table. Since it was a Tuesday evening, they had happy hours for appetizers and drinks. It's was also game night and I must say, they had some great collection of games! We ordered Berliner fries, Street cart doner and Spicy Doner (both with chicken). The fries were delicious and crispy. It would definitely be a bang for your buck during happy hour. (I will come to that part in the end). Both Doners were huge! They seemed a bit dry but if you pair them with the sauces they have, it's pretty tasty. Okay tiny sad bit, when we checked our bill, the fries were not discounted (it was in the happy hour menu). Hence the -1 on the rating. Great meal otherwise! Would definitely come back here.
The bar server was amazing. Awesome attitude very accommodating. Only deducted stars because of the food, was a bit expensive for a little bit and the medi bowl meat was a bit dry.
good service, very popular little tokyo breakfast and lunch cafe. I had the blueberry latte and bacon breakfast burrito (not pictured) food was good, but I will say the burrito was VERY good in my opinion 5☆ while the matcha (thier most popular item) was okay. Mild matcha and blueberry flavor, but not bad. Decent price point esp considering how other cafes in LA try to rip you off. If you want to come here keep in mind they are always BUSY, there's always gonna be a line. And I reccomend their savory items.
I was in Little Tokyo in LA and had to try the donuts! And I wasn’t disappointed. The donuts are fresh and yeast raised. They have the perfect balance of sugar. I tried the macadamia nut with a maple glaze and the green tea. The macadamia nut was the basic recipe good everyone should enjoy. The green tea donut was different yet enjoyable. The green tea flavor mixes well with the filling. The filling is a little thicker like a custard and has its own flavor that works for the donut. I am most surprised with the green tea donut maintaining its flavor and moisture the next day!
This is the spot for some donuts! They have the best Apple Pie Donut, that doesn’t disappoint. There’s always a line but it moves quick. They offer a variety of items such as cakes, donuts, food and drinks like coffee. I’ve only had donuts from here I always get the Apple pie one. The strawberry cream one is also good, a little on the sweet side but good. Definitely trying a food item next.
Food and drinks are solid quality and really good. The vibe is chilling and cozy at the same time. The only thing I would complain about is the service. The bartender girl with the white shirt and glasses was having an attitude the whole time and looked bothered when we started ordering. Also it’s like self-service which I don’t mind but I feel like they don’t really care the customers because of the way they treated us. I like the salad, so I would go to another branch but would never come back here again.
*Do not order from this location on delivery apps!* I used to love going to the Los Feliz location, so I thought I would order dinner for my household. It cost $100 for 3 entrees and 4 sides, even after a $20 coupon. When the order arrived, we only received 2 entrees and 2 (incorrect) sides. The only sides that we received were the fries in our combos, which were supposed to be the street cart upgrades, but neither came with the upgrade. In addition, the fries were extremely cold and stale, despite only being ordered 15 minutes prior. The only correct items in the order were the 2 wraps. Only half of my family were able to eat from Spitz. I received $35 as a refund, and to reorder the same exact items it was going to cost $50 before taxes, fees, and tips. I am so disappointed with the quality control at this location and unfortunately will not be returning to Spitz, despite the fact that I used to love going there. Don’t waste your time and money ordering from here. It will just result in a massive headache, lost money, and stale fries.
