Avis sur Dublin's Irish Whiskey Pub Los Angeles
Was not expecting the wings to be as good as they are. The garlic buffalo and lemon pepper sauce are both fantastic. Solid burger too.
Great drinks and incredible service. One of my favourite places in DTLA
The fish and chips was nice. The beer was good. The loud thumping music for Valentine's Day could have been less loud and thumpy.
Well, it's pub, ok. Great whiskey selection. Sometimes you see weird people, sometimes the tables aren't super clean, but it serves its purpose.
Great Irish pub in a cool old building, circa 1926, had the Irish stew a long time ago when I was there last and it was pretty good 👍, beer 🍺 is kinda expensive even during happy hour 😞 8 bucks for a non alcoholic domestic bottle during happy hour is a little pricey, for me at least!
Place is good! I enjoyed my chicken tenders and the variety of beer here. The vibe was alright, granted I was there on a game night so all TVs and sound was directed toward that. My lesser stars is more due to the slim pickings of Irish. It was a Mexican restaurant named Dublin’s Irish. It got me good.
While in town for work, I was on a simple mission: grab a quick bite and watch the Rams in the Championship Game. I thought it would be cool to watch them win while in LA….well that didn’t happen! Dublin’s popped up online, and since I’m a fan of Irish fare, I figured it was worth a try. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by… absolutely no one. No hostess, no “Please seat yourself” sign…just vibes. So I chose my own adventure, found an empty table, and sat down. After about 15 minutes of quality alone time, I flagged someone down and learned that, surprise, I needed to order from the bar. On the bright side, I discovered they had an All Day Happy Hour on Sunday, which felt like a small reward for my patience. I ordered the two sliders with fries for $13. They were fine; edible, inoffensive, but not exactly something I’ll be dreaming about. What really stole the show, though, was one of the “bartenders,” who appeared to be aggressively sampling the merchandise. He was chugging Jameson behind the bar, strolling around with cash in hand, and eventually graduated into a full-on “pimp walk” across the place, clearly several drinks past professional. It was… a bold management strategy. To be fair, the female bartender was great, friendly, efficient, and very helpful once I approached the bar myself. Still, I have to echo another reviewer’s comment: I wouldn’t be shocked to see this place featured on Bar Rescue in the near future. With just a few tweaks (and maybe fewer Jameson chugs), this could actually be a solid, thriving pub in Downtown LA.
We were greeted by a stoned guy with a hickey on his neck. He told us to order food and beverages at the bar. Thankfully, the Detroit Lions fan bartender took our order at the table. (He was VERY nice.) The Pastrami Rueben with fries was good but the bread was barely toasted. We mentioned it to stoned guy and he told us to tell them "to toast it better next time and it will be perfect". The lights in the place need attention as do the bathrooms, and TV's. Please make an ADA complaint bathroom where people don't have to walk down 24 steps to use the facilities. TV's are plentiful, but need updating (I felt like I was watching a 1970's TV.) There were lots of guys coming in and going downstairs (I'm assuming) to the bathroom, but not ordering anything, and leaving. (I'll leave it to your imagination as to what might be happening there.) I think this could be a really cool spot, the architecture is absolutely beautiful, but it needs some attention.
Only gave it two stars because it has lots of tv’s. I work downtown and want to like this place so bad but the food is awful. Last time I went I got the fish and chips. Horribly dry, tough, obviously frozen. Fresh can’t be used in the same sentence. I think it might have been microwaved. The wedge fries were dry, bland, massive disappointment. Not sure why they would keep them on the menu. Everything looks like it is frozen. No where near traditional English/Irish pub fair. Get super wasted before you eat and you may like it. My knife had a chunk of food on it almost as big as a dime when they handed it to me. I don’t think clean is a concern in this place. Can’t say I won’t be back to watch a game and grab a beer because the vibe can be good but might have to leave to get food and come back.
Been to this bar 3 times in the last 5 days, each time between noon and 330pm. Every single time there was an African American bartender. He seemed nice, but after he poured everyone's drinks, he literally LEFT the bar and went across the street, every single day!🤣 I'd never seen this in any establishment. Multiple people would arrive and he's still gone, they're all looking around very confused wondering where the heck is the bartender. Then 15-20 mins he just shows back up. Insanity, highly doubt the owner is aware. What a disappointment 🫤
I wish I could give this place a 5 star review for being in the middle of downtown but where do I Start , no wait staff to acknowledge patrons when you first walk in, bartenders too busy “mingling” with friends at the bar and not aware of their surroundings of patrons, no menu had to ask the security if the kitchen was still open . Bartenders said you have to order at the bar and saying it across the floor. Terrible service cocky attitude by staff surprise how the establishment it’s still in business . Maybe someone should called John Taffer from Bar Rescue to scope up this place . Stay away this place if you in Downtown LA
Drinks and fries were fine. We sat at the bar abd waited 15 minutes to be served. Hardly anyone was in there. Another person came in while we waited and he left after not being acknowledged for 10 min.
