Fanny’s just opened their dinner service. Walking in, I was struck by the beautiful, old Hollywood mixed with modern chic decor. The staff are incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, including the incredible sommelier. I ordered the lentils to start, which were cooked perfectly, with a hint of citrus, making them very light and tangy. Then I had a mini fromage plate, with cheeses that complimented each other perfectly. Then the pork porterhouse arrived in an iron Dutch oven, served table side. It was cooked to absolute perfection with the juices dripping off. There was also a beautiful pasta dish with a meat Ragu, that was just divine. Dessert was a blood orange creme brulee that was light and palate cleansing. The perfect finisher. The serving staff was incredibly attentive as well.

I’ve been here a few times but tonight was definitely the best experience so far. Randy helped us with our service and libations, and he’s as phenomenal as he is professional and knowledgeable in his craft. He was courteous and very personable, and made tasteful drinks (Lovely Dune-themed cocktail and Negroni). Cheers to you Randy and thank you for elevating our experience at Fanny’s. 🥂

Wonderful restaurant within the academy museum that has fine dining as well as a casual outdoor area and beautiful bar. I rarely drink but they looked exquisite. Upon speaking to the waitress and asking how the big the starters were and if shareable I was told kind of small. So ordered one per person. They came out quite large and definitely could have done less but they were all great. We had ceasar salad and the hummus with mushrooms and focaccia. I highly recommend the chicken with potatoes and carrots as well as the burger and fries. Definitely on the more expensive side here but the ambiance is telling to that as well. The manager was wonderful and checked on us regularly which was very nice. Was told to get the meatballs as they’re supposedly a specialty here but come to find out they only have them on Sundays. Highly recommend this place for evening fine dining.

We visited Fanny's Café and Restaurant when we were in the Academy Museum. It was almost Cappy Hour and we were starving. This place has a sit down restaurant as well as a smaller café attached to it. We opted for the small café which seemed a little less pricey. The coffee here was outstanding. Really good espresso and cappuccinos without that bitter or watery taste. The desert and sandwiches which we ordered were super fresh. And we basically sat there for a while and just enjoyed ourselves before venturing into the actual museum. If you're looking for a place to just spend an hour drinking coffee and chilling out this would be a good spot. You do not have to pay for admission into the museum just to come into this café. Everything was wheelchair accessible and you should definitely try some of these desserts.

Great place to eat burgers, very spacious and really nice comfortable chairs. We didn't try the pastry but they look delicious too. Located next to the Academy Museum. Food came out pretty quick and service was good. Restroom is downstairs. We walked here from LA Brea Tar Pits museum.

Fanny's, the cafe located inside the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, is a hidden gem for coffee and pastry lovers. If you're looking for a quick and delicious bite to eat or a refreshing cup of coffee, this cafe is the perfect spot. The cafe's decor is modern and inviting, with comfortable seating and plenty of natural light. The service is friendly and efficient, and the staff is always happy to help you navigate the menu. The coffee at Fanny's is top-notch. They offer a range of options, from espresso drinks to cold brew and pour-over, all made with high-quality beans and expertly prepared. The flavor and aroma of the coffee are outstanding, making it a perfect pick-me-up for a day spent exploring the museum. The pastries at Fanny's are equally impressive. They offer a range of options, from croissants and scones to muffins and cookies, all made fresh daily. The pastries are flaky, buttery, and perfectly sweet, making them a delicious accompaniment to your coffee or tea. One standout pastry is the almond croissant, which is perfectly crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside, with a generous filling of sweet almond paste. It's the perfect indulgence for a morning treat or an afternoon snack. Another standout pastry is the blueberry muffin, which is packed full of juicy blueberries and topped with a crunchy streusel topping. It's a classic pastry done to perfection. Overall, Fanny's at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is a great spot to stop for a quick coffee or pastry break during your visit to the museum. The coffee is excellent, the pastries are delicious, and the service is friendly and efficient. Highly recommended for coffee and pastry lovers!

The food selection is limited, but the food they do have was excellent, including the pastries and coffee. The bar and bartenders are impressive. Would definitely recommend and I will be visiting again.

Just popped in for some drinks. Lovely bar with friendly staff. My Negroni was delicious thanks to Jon Claybaugh the bar tender.

The best fries in LA — salty-crispy outside, soft and potato-ey inside. Burgers are fresh and juicy with perfectly toasted buns. My niece recommends the grilled cheese under the Kid’s Menu. Servers are the nicest. People have to line up to order food, but they serve the food on your table. I find that pretty efficient. Outside seating is also available.

Quiche is delicious and the environment is very comfy, it's a good place to feed myself after my museum trip. Their service is very chill & friendly including the host girl.

Fanny's in the Academy Museum of the Movies on Fairfax Ave and Wilshire Blvd is a great place to eat even if you aren't going to be looking at exhibits in the Academy Museum of the Movies. The food is fresh and delicious if a bit pricey. Street parking is difficult, but there is valet parking availability. With valet parking, Fanny's is wheelchair accessible. There are lots of excellent restaurants in this area. Fanny's is one of them.

Went there for a dinner a couple of days before the Oscars and loved it! Oscar nominees-themed cocktails, old fashion fun music, classic cinema pictures and great food. A good way to celebrate this event!

Food here is awesome. Huge dining space and the ordering of food (either at the bar or at the counter) is a bit confusing when the have 50+ tables which could accommodate proper service. But food and drink more than made up for it. Also, Popcorn bar snacks!

I stoped in for a quick snack, I didn’t want to sit for long. I had a blueberry muffin that was fluffy, moist with a great crumble topping. I also had a biscuit with butter and jelly, there were layers to the biscuit and a softness with a crunchy edge.

I stopped by this cute little bistro on the way out of the Academy Museum. Cute little spot with really good food. I ordered the tarte and the breakfast burrito. The tarte was delicious, not too sweet, but the breakfast burrito was basic tbh. Kinda bland. The environment is super clean but prices are definitely otherworldly. Shout out to Ray for being so welcoming. Would come again to enjoy the experience. Ordered for takeout this time.

Had a delicious early birthday dinner at Fanny’s before going to a screening of “Lost Highway” at the Academy Museum. Bridget took exceptional care of me and the meal was a treat! That salmon dish is the last thing I want to eat before I die. 🥹

This was a terrific surprise while visiting the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. Easily the best Caesar Salad I've ever had. I knew it was going to be special as soon as it arrived. The presentation with the side of grilled chicken and the fresh anchovies on the side looked so good. And the taste was just as good. I also had a bite of my wife's crab cake, and it was sublime. The side of fries were nice and crispy without being over cooked. And a final shout out to the head bar tender there for the friendly, professional service. We arrived 5 minutes before the kitchen closed, and we were still handled as if we were ordering at any time. Really impressed by it all. Try this place, you will not be disappointed.

We came in for some birthday sips and desserts. Fanny's always has an intersting and unique selection of crafted cocktails named after the movies that inspired them. We had the Parasite cocktail and having taken place in Korea there was a sweet and savory quality incorporating gochujang and was garnished with some seasoned popcorn resting on one large cube. Jimmy always goes above and beyond for his guests. Thanks buddy! Keep up the fantastic job! I'll be back for a pour of that special Michter's on our next celebratory visit.

Today, thanks to Brixy, Fanny’s lived up to my expectations. Great service! I ordered a cherry pastry and an iced matcha unsweetened. Awesome! Delicious! I’ve been here before and it’s been pretty good but today, awesome! I’m upping Fanny’s to 5 stars! Old review: Delicious matcha pastries. Awesome coffee and so many other appetizing offerings! There’s an outside seating area which is great for people watching. I like the decor. The staff are friendly. It’s kind of pricey but that’s kind of inescapable in this part of town and so close to a major art museum. There’s a parking structure underneath the grounds and it’s about $18 or so. There’s also meters on 6th street.

I love love LOVE this place! Everytime I come my food is always a 10/10 and the lemon meringue is top tier! The staff are nice and the place is clean! I like how the menu is movie themed which matches the museum and makes it enjoyable connecting which movie is matches with the food! Overall I would definitely recommend this place especially the vodka pasta (my favorite dish)

A wonderful afternoon lunch experience that brings a lite dose of creativity and melds it brazenly with comfort. Disappointment is NOT on the menu! For the tourist, a nice surprise while sightseeing, for the local, this is your new go to lunch spot. Grateful for this find while visiting " The City of Angels" with slightly charred wings...

I loved every plate but the burguer which was just good. The salad and burrata seasonings had so much flavor but on top of that was the dessert. It was not only a great sweet course but also an experience, the presentation and taste were amazing, everything is edible. I loved it!

Such an elegant dining room for a cute little lunch!! We shared the Fanny Brice Burger & fries, which I instantly regretted not ordering my own… Burger SO DELICIOUS, and fries with that extra layer of crisp~ YUMM!! Can’t wait to go back for an order all to myself. My only criticism would be the dried spaghetti stuff they swirl on top of the salads… hardly edible; but easy to avoid/remove, so not worth docking a star over. Also, the staff were all very warm and welcoming, which is so invaluable in itself! Thank you.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Fanny’s, and it was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and attentive—staff were incredibly friendly, offering recommendations without being intrusive. It's clear they take pride in providing top-notch service, making every guest feel like a VIP. The food? Absolutely superb. Each dish was a perfect balance of flavors, beautifully plated, and cooked to perfection. The quiche was a standout—an unforgettable combination of fresh ingredients and a buttery, flaky crust that really impressed. The attention to detail in each course was evident, making every bite a pleasure. To top it off, the desserts were decadent. The chocolate raspberry tart was an indulgent treat, rich and velvety, with just the right amount of sweetness to round off the meal. It’s the kind of dessert that you savor with every spoonful. What made the evening even more memorable was the setting. The ambiance was cozy yet elegant, with soft lighting and tasteful decor that set the perfect mood for a relaxing dinner. It truly enhanced the overall experience, making it feel like a special occasion. All in all, this restaurant is a gem, offering great service, incredible food, and desserts that are worth every calorie. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable meal in a fantastic atmosphere!

Came here with 2 good friends on Valentine's Day. Great atmosphere, food was delicious - we all had the burger (excellent fries too) But what made this meal so memorable was our server Lucas. Maybe one of THE BEST wait staff I have ever come across. Simply a delight. We will be back and we will kindly be asking to sit in his section each time. Thank you for just turning another meal into a memorable moment. Arrived as customers left as family.

PROS: The food is delicious (we were there for lunch and ordered the burger with fries, plus two of their pastries). The ambiance is top notch, beautiful chairs, comfortable lighting and music at the right volume. CONS: the ordering at the register process is what does not correspond to the price and quality of the restaurant, maybe they thought it would be easier to handle when the museum is packed, but it detracts from the overall experience. The service is not the greatest, maybe due to the same reason (no spoons were given to eat our dessert, we had to get up and ask for one). Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and would be back.

Beautiful spot with good food. We had lunch while checking out the museum. Burgers were tasty but really greasy. Side salad was delicious. Nutella shortbread was really good, but please don't call it shortbread. It was not short. It was basically a brookie (brownie/cookie), very soft and cookie dough-like.

The good- ez reservation for Friday. Ez parking valet, they validate for total $17, quick check in and seating. The short rib was ok cooked well lightly seasoned. The focaccia was fluffy inside nice crust outside. The cobb salad from my ladies opinion was great. Squash blossoms were great. Over priced martini was good. Would come back for other entrees. The bad if I wanted another drink the waitress took her time checking back on us. Wha. I asked for water I had to ask again as I never got a refill. Place didn’t look packed for the lack of service. There’s an in house bakery which I got a pumpkin tart which was one of the greatest pastries I have ever had, would come back for that. While I waited for my pastry I could see the food coming out and the service calls was lacking not sure if it’s bad servers or lack of training. Check ‘em out I did.

The restaurant is located inside the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. There is a huge bar and dining room with table service as well as a separate area for baked goods, quick snacks and drinks with counter service. We stopped to get an afternoon snack as we had dinner reservation elsewhere. The cookies were pretty good.

I brunched here and was so glad I did. I love the vibe of the old Hollywood blended with the modern. I looked at their other menus, but brunch was the most appealing to me. I had the french omelet with potatoes and it was enjoyable, the coffee was delicious. The pastries looked great but I wasn't able to try them. My main server was just okay, there was another server in the area who was much more personable and had got my drink going when there was a bit of a wait initially. All and all it seems like a fun spot.

4 stars only bc I stopped in quick for 1 drink before leaving the museum so didn't get a chance to experience much else - but I could easily see this being 5 stars. Drinks are a bit pricey but the mixologists behind the bar know what they're doing and in my opinion mine was worth every cent. The cocktail menu is pretty diverse so you shouldn't have a problem finding something that calls to your palette. The drink I got, "My Man", was a deliciously refreshing and tasty drink on a hot summer day. Atmosphere was cool, seats at the bar are comfy, and there was a little cafe to the side that looked like it had some good coffee, snacks, and sandwiches. You can also take your drink (or food) and sit outside in their patio area. If you're visiting the museum, highly recommend stopping in and checking them out!

Can’t beat the atmosphere. Fun cocktails and an extensive wine list. They close at 7:30pm, so early dinner is the only evening option. The food menu is pretty standard, nothing earth shattering. The service is friendly and attentive. All in all, a great place to hang with friends or a family outing.

I'm not sure if it's the low expectations I came in with, but honestly, the salad was one of the tastiest and most colorful looking salads I had in a while (they weren't joking in the menu when they wrote that it includes "edible flowers". Check out the photo, no editing or filtering). So here's for the salad!! 🥗

Loved the presentation and freshness. The lobster Cobb salad was great. Enjoyed the homemade pita bread and especially the truffle hummus. The 5 cheese board was great (wish there was more honey, quince paste etc... so there could have been a better sides to cheese ratio). Enjoyed the focaccia and rain bread also.

This was my second time here. We came for drinks after we went to the Academy Motion Museum. It was an experience. They brought our drinks and popcorn our first time. It's definitely a great place to hang with friends. We came back a week later to hear some jazz by the Urban Lights. We ordered some salad before our meals. I got a simple salad. My family ordered a beet salad and humus with humus. Then we ordered our dishes. The food came out hot. Our server was great. She had a wonderful personality. I got the halibut. I asked to get the sides that went with chicken. The carrots were great and the mashed potatoes. The chef made it happen. I would say that this place had a unique menu. The chef crafted it. It was pricy, but I enjoyed the ambiance it had. We definitely felt important. It felt intimate. The staff was super sweet and helpful. I enjoyed the music for real. I love the bar section. It has a lounge area. Very fun!

A decent spot for a snack and cocktail after stopping at the museum. The space is well designed and clean. The cocktails are inventive and fun, but not amazing. The wait staff is very friendly and smily, although they seem to favor the “members” whilst there. They aren’t giving oscar service, and the prices are a bit steep for no apparent reason. I wish they served the black truffle charcoal popcorn, to give us a taste.

A very nice meal in a place with lovely ambience and great music! We had the short rib French omelette and seasonal vegetables (with a delightful, unexpected mole sauce), and enjoyed both thoroughly. The coffee could be better, however, and the prices are a bit on the steep side. Great location, however, wonderful service, and overall a very nice experience.

Really before you move forward I think the best things about Fanny’s are the cocktails , dessert and ambiance. A little rigid on the menu in terms of lactose-intolerant people for example and making substitutions was not easy. The wait staff were excellent, friendly and attentive. The location is great if you’re around exploring LACMA this is a good spot to grab a meal. Their truffle hummus is amazing. The entrees were so-so we got the steak and sea bass. The olive oil cake was the star ⭐️ Overall, worth checking out if you’re in the area especially if you’re having a sweet tooth and to share some appetizers.

The bakery and cafe was aesthetic to sit inside. I loved the vibe with the lights, panels, and tables. I got an apple turnover and a cappuccino. The coffee was good, but the pastry could have been better. Maybe I should have asked them if they could warm up the turnover. The pastry was not flaky of crispy. It was a bit doughy. They said that they make the pastries in house, but I hope that it's done right in the future.

This Restaurant is located inside one of my favorite Museums in Los Angeles, it’s called The Academy Museum. So this is a very convenient place to eat or grab a drink while visiting the museum. I love the atmosphere of this place and the cafe items are pretty good. Here are a few things I think they should work on: - Paying at the register and then bringing a ticket number to the table, just seems a bit tacky in my opinion. Would rather be greeted by a host and seated. - The waiters don’t really interact with you, the experience and service just feels transactional. I think when you’re paying the prices like Fannys charges… the customer service should feel a bit more personalized and welcoming. - My friend ordered a quiche and they gave it to him ice cold. When I mentioned it to the waiter, instead of just offering to heat it up… she tells us "we serve it French style, which is cold." I definitely visit this place a lot and see the potential. So I will continue to support this establishment! Just a few things I believe could be improved on.

December 2025: Stopped by at the restaurant for a sit down lunch. Started with the focaccia bread that was served with a garlic butter and cheese. Was tasty. I ordered the Chinese chicken salad 🥗. I enjoyed it. Was fairly good size portion. My wife ordered the lobster cobb salad and there was a surprise that they served the bacon COLD. Was odd because you can see the congealed fat which was very unappetizing. Below is the reason for the mixed review. We asked if they could serve the bacon hot and they refused. They said that we could order a side of bacon... But that was a bit off putting. Prices are high to begin with. So we felt they were not very accommodating of a simple request to fix a poor choice of serving cold bacon. Probably wouldn't come back for food again here.

The coffee was fine but when I asked about the food allergens in the baked goods im pretty sure the guy completely misunderstood why i was asking in the first place so instead of giving me an item with 'no soy' he gave me something that absolutely was soaked in soybean oil. The line was so long I didn't even bother because I had an allergic reaction and had to cancel going to the museum

Picked the cafe vs the dining room to get something simple and fast. The food is outrageously expensive for what you get. And that's factoring in 2026 expensive restaurant prices. Got 2 salads and some fries. Waited 30 minutes. THEN I had to point it out to get it. Not at all crowded at the time.

We were very excited to go here. The service and the staff were all wonderful and we appreciate them! However, Fanny’s has a minimalist design and kind of feels like a factory. The space has some nice artwork that is reminiscent of old school Hollywood but too far away to appreciate. The space feels cold and empty. The space needs some ambience some plants or some flowers. The food…. The food was plain old awful. We had their appetizer of bread and butter because visually it’s beautiful and very big..the bread was just a giant crust and it was empty inside nothing but air and the butter had extra large salt flakes in it that was just too crunchy. We had the appetizer of truffle hummus and avocado sauce that was also not so good and about a tablespoon serving of each sauce. The Caesar salad was just ok. We decided against ordering an entrée based on the appetizers and our salad. I was really disappointed in the food, and a little let down with the ambience. With all the good and gorgeous restaurants in Los Angeles, this one will not get a second visit even if we are at LACMA.

This place has potential. Interior and vibe are great. Service is not. Food was somewhat ok. It took almost 3 hours to complete a dinner reservation for 2. That is totally nuts. Drinks took 30 min+. Food came one at a time (it is meant to be shared) about 20 min apart for first 2 dishes after the party already being at the table more than 45 min. The third dish took 45 min ++ and was way overcooked (pork porterhouse). It was dry and overdone. Sauce with it had little flavor and could not rescue the dish. Ceasar was good. Limone pasta was good. Taking 30+ min to bring a glass of wine is bad. Taking another 30+ min to bring one more is worse.

First, they wouldn't seat us for drinks and coffee. We decided to get to-go coffee instead of cocktails and their menu is misleading. The seasonal lattes say they include "choice of milk" but they still charge extra. Coffee was fine but nothing special.

I ordered the From Russia with Spicy Vodka, and am sorely disappointed. For a thirty dollar pasta, you would expect to be full at the end of the meal. There is no chance one could be full from a serving that would barely suit a small child. The volume of sauce entirely eclipsed the pasta, and the cheese was strategically placed to obscure the voids. Not only was the food cleverly arranged to masquerade as a full portion, but the dimensions of bowl itself aided in the deception. I will not deny that it was good, but if I could hold the entire volume of the pasta in one hand, it should cost ten dollars. Five, even. Not thirty. I am still hungry, and now I am annoyed. Go to India's Tandoori instead, they know how much food to give a person and are far more reasonably priced.

The food at this place is simply a joke. $24 for a bowl 🥣 of lettuce. Cesar salad 🥗 hahahaha wow. Come on, and if you're going to add LA health fee put some more effort on your food. Thank you. Never coming back.

My experience at Fanny's, part of the Academy Museum's 2025 Oscar Viewing Party Celebration, fell short of expectations and did not justify the high cost, particularly given the poor service, small portion sizes, and lack of dinner choices. The 2:45 PM reservation resulted in an unacceptable one-hour wait outside on the street, exposed to the cold, strong winds of the day. Guests also had to navigate the Museum's security and check in with more delays. At the entrance, near the restaurant's bakery, numerous servers stood idly in front of the house, leaving the disorganized hostesses' desk and serving tables understaffed. The seating was below standard, with uncomfortable, tiny tables and limited or no view of the ceremony. The manager was rude and dismissive when I requested to change tables to one closer to a TV monitor to watch the Oscars. Only after I asked for my money back did he pay attention, escorting us to a more suitable table where we could actually see the ceremony. The purpose of making a dinner reservation for an “Oscar Viewing Dinner Party” was to watch the Oscars there. The server failed to introduce herself or promptly offer beverages, and the silverware was poorly polished. The welcoming glass of prosecco was served warm and flat, seemingly having sat on the counter for over an hour; however, when another manager addressed the issue, he did not apologize when bringing the second fresh bubbling glass, which was also part of the $250.00 prix fixe menu. The mushroom dumpling appetizers lacked flavor and were excessively drenched in plain soy sauce, which spilled onto the table due to the absence of butter plates or paper napkins. The tuna tartare was unappealing. The “warm asparagus salad” was bland and nearly cold. The small monkfish was salty, and the beef cheek on top of it was overcooked. The only redeeming item on the menu was the Tropical Verrine dessert, which was nicely presented. The entire experience was disappointing. Next year, I will seek another venue to watch the ceremony instead of the Academy Museum, as I will never return to Fanny’s.
