This restaurant has surprised me on the quality of their food, I had the pepper steak sub and a medium sized lemonade drink for 19 dollars. The pepper steak sub was made perfectly but the meat lacked flavor which was surprising. The lemonade was delicious and was perfect; They took around 15 minutes to make the sub and they served it with napkins and a fork. The restaurant has a small parking lot on the left side on the small residential street side. They don’t have a dedicated handicap parking spot available and the restaurant is not really handicapped accessible. The prices are just on point for what you get, overall this restaurant was good and I enjoyed the food they served me. They need some improvement on the flavor of the food though but I do recommend you give them a try if you are in the area.

*I initially thought this place was closed. I parked in parking lot to find somewhere else to eat and one of the employees walked out.* This place is very filling, I wouldn’t put them in my top five favorite sub shops. Although they would make the top 10. My only gripe with this place would be there was no music here.

I've been coming here for the last 2 decades. The pastrami still tastes the same as the first time, DELICIOUS! The turkey is also a great choice. The size of the subs are perfect for a big 230 pound guy like me.

Giamela's is a childhood favorite of mine. My mom used to bring my sister and I here all the time. I pretty much love everything on their menu. Their pizza is so good. Tonight I got a 6 inch meatball sandwich with extra c peheese. It was very delicious. The meatballs are seasoned perfectly . the tomatoe sauce and cheese go together and make the sandwich complete. If you haven't tried Giamela's . You definitely should .

Combo large sub - half pepper beef, half pastrami / 5 🌟! Giamela's is the place to go if you want a huge, tasty sub that is 85% meat. They have been around for a long time and I've been enjoying them every few months since I landed in Los Feliz over 2 years ago. I recommend eating it fresh. I ate in the restaurant and there is so much juicy meat that the sub bun was already getting soggy. I ate this masterpiece of a sub after a 12 mile hike and it was perfection.

I'm a fan! The pepper steak sub is the way to go here. If you never had it make sure you try it! All the others subs are good too but the pepper steak has so much flavor and it's loaded with melted cheese and diced pickles and onions. My friend and I also tried the pastrami pizza which we both agreed was bangin'. If you come here make sure you're hungry and ready to eat. Make sure to call in your order or go with plenty of time since it gets busy during the lunch rush.

Was good but not great overall a good sandwich but I have had better. A very good sized sandwich for the price.

Was working in the area and needed a quick bite for my 30 min lunch break. Wasn't too busy so I figured this was a good option. I ordered the beef and pastrami. Must be the style of subs but the bread was disappointing. It was like a super size hot dog bun. The negative part was that we had ordered to eat inside. We became distracted by the TV and didn't realize that our food hadn't arrived to our table after about 15 minutes. I didnt think a sub would take that long. People came and went so I decided to go up to the counter to ask about food. Before anything was said the person at the counter realized the situation and reached for a bag with our sandwiches and said sorry that it was bagged to go. By this time the sandwiches were mildly soggy from being wrapped warm. The beef and pastrami had good flavor but the bread and service was not my favorite.

Great portions for the price but very very standard sandwiches- also they’re put together kind of strangely. I got the tuna and while the tuna was slabbed between the bread, the toppings (pickles onions tomatoes) were “topped” on the side of the sandwich so you have to eat it like a taco so it doesn’t all fall out, but it does anyway. Not sure why they’d do that, you’re left to distribute the toppings yourself so you’d at least get a bite of everything each time, unless you’re okay with a bite of only tuna or only toppings lol. Wait time was pretty atrocious, waited about 25min for a takeout order (2 sandwiches) which was made worse when seeing almost everyone who came in after us being served first just because they were dining in. Oh and don’t eat this in your car, it’ll REEK of onions for hours. 5 star staff.

Had the meatball sub and a slice of pizza. The sub was cold when we got it and it had lots of unnecessary toppings. Needed more cheese on sandwich. Pizza was great and hot 🔥 would recommend the pizza. I will try the Philly cheese next time

I used to go here during lunch 3-4 years ago and loved their meatball sandwich. But something was different this time. They seemed to have changed the way they prepared the sandwich. This time it was just okay. Last time it was incredible. New ownership? Not sure. I guess the main plus is the sandwich arrived within minutes after ordering.

Giamela’s is a small local spot for sub sandwiches and some other stuff like pasta and salad, but I can’t choose to support this local business. I ordered the Mr. G’s Sub which had a good amount of meat along with chopped lettuce, diced tomatoes, white onions, relish, mayo, and mustard. The overall taste is dominated by the strong flavors of the relish and mustard, and then the oiliness of the mayo. The lettuce was also soft and did not feel fresh. The size felt a little small for the price I was paying. The bun very low quality, super soft and squished from being packed in with everything else. My girlfriend ordered the spaghetti and meatballs that came with garlic bread and salad. The spaghetti and meatballs was average but nothing to complain or rave about. The garlic bread used the same lame bread as the sandwich, even cut horizontally too. The salad was an abomination. It’s not a salad. It’s leftover sandwich ingredients. And just like how the lettuce on the salad wasn’t fresh, the chopped lettuce for the salad was also limp and ugly.
