One of the highly rated Chinese restaurant in the LA area, coming here with some friends to check it out. Some of the dishes we ordered that we loved and would highly recommend are: Shrimp and asparagus, Mongolian beef, and the one dish that I’ve never seen on a Chinese menu before was 7 flavor lamb chops, what a unique and delicious dish, I would highly recommend. No wonder this place has the highest rating on yelp. Give it a try you’ll love it too.

A great place to go get your Chinese food. I literally typed in Chinese food on Google maps open now at 10:00 finding a spot still open that is 5 stars is limited for Asian food. But as soon as I seen this place I rushed before they close at midnight. They are actually fast at cooking their food. End up dining in and finishing the food myself at the restaurant. Came here on a random weekday night and was blown away by the food. Unassuming restaurant with a surprisingly spacious and clean interior. Open late with nearby street parking. Perfect place to grab dinner with a group. Service was quick and friendly. The salted fried tofu were tasty bites, and the Singapore noodles were absolutely fantastic. The prices were fair too. Everything hit the mark! Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Came here for a late night dinner. My friend and I shared the fried calamari, Singapore Style Noodles, and Black Pepper Beef Mignon #40. Great portions were served. Everything tasted delicious 🤤. We were also served tea, without even asking for it! The staff were very friendly as well. Definitely recommend trying this place out.

The atmosphere is eh, but the food is fast served hot and ahhhmazing! We ordered 7 Flavor lamb chops that were smothered in green scallion and crispy garlic. We also ordered combo fried rice and Kung pow chicken. Everything was delicious.

Look. This might just be the BEST Chinese food I've ever had. Classic Chinese American cuisine. Some of the cleanest Chinese food I've ever had. All the ingredients tasted so fresh and the Orange chicken was doing it's thing. Family spot with large portions. The best

Was in the area and I was craving Chinese food so I drove through Chinatown & after driving in circles a few times I decided to visit this restaurant. & let me say, I’m thankful I did. Food was amazing! Service was great, and you get a bang for your buck! Good portions that can feed multiple people & good menu selection to choose from. Most importantly the place was clean! Definitely going back. Oh & $5 parking lot compared to $15-$40 in the surrounding area, which is why I stumbled upon this place.

The type of local Chinese that every area should have. The food was super tasty and the portions were huge that we even took take away. The noodles with vegetables never go wrong and the orange chicken was amazing, not too sweet not too salty the perfect flavour to eat with plain rice . Very good service , amazing food and super cheap prices !

Really friendly service, was very quick and the food was great. We got in around 11:50~ right before lunch rush and it was pretty quiet. When the lunch rush hit, it was still easy to talk and wasn't super loud. Definitely recommend trying this place out, I'm sure there's something you'll like!

It was a very good experience — minimalist, with excellent flavors, big portions, and fair prices. The service was very kind and welcoming! We love the experience to try the hot tea!! #depaseoysabor

Came here late at night, about an hour before they closed. They served free hot tea with my meal. I got the Yang Chow fried rice, and it was as good as it was a large amount of food. I took home half of it as leftovers. Service was efficient, and the workers were all very kind. I will be coming back!

A restaurant at the entrance to the Chinatown Gate. The service is quick and timely. We ordered our plates and received our meals in a timely manner. The whole meal is delicious. We filled our stomach to our hearts content. Highly Recommended for any lovers to Chinese Food.

A fantastic spot for truly exceptional food at an even better price. Conveniently located right on the border of Chinatown, relatively close to multiple hotels. I ordered the Pepper Fried Calamari and the Orange Crispy Chicken. The Calamari was crispy and had amazing flavor, and the portion size was plenty to satisfy and was well worth the price. The Orange Crispy Chicken was simply wonderful, the perfect blend sweet and savory. I consider myself to be picky when it comes to orange chicken, and this blew me away. Not only was it great as far as flavor goes, but the serving was considerably more than I had anticipated (a welcomed surprise). The service was also great; I was promptly seated, my order taken and served. Overall I had a great experience, and will undoubtedly be back when I return to LA.

What a treat! We had Shrimp and Asparagus, Orange Chicken and Braised Green Beans with Chicken and fried rice. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The Shrimp sang Asparagus was exceptional. We’ll definitely eat here again.

Really good authentic Chinese restaurant. Parking, as you would expect in Downtown LA, is a little difficult. There is meter parking, although Monday-Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. are no parking. The service is good, the servers/owners are always quick to take orders, very friendly, and the food is delicious.

First time we got this place was for a delivery order from Postmates. We ordered the orange chicken, Mongolian beef, egg rolls, and pork dumplings. Everything was absolutely FANTASTIC. It’s been very hard for me to find a good Chinese restaurant since leaving my home town that had many staple places for me and my family to go to. This place reminds me of so many childhood family dinners for birthdays, special occasions, and just because. My husband and I don’t really dine out much, but I’m sure the staff are wonderful and the food probably tastes even better when served right out of the kitchen!

I moved to downtown Los Angeles about a year ago and have been searching for a solid local Chinese restaurant. Golden Tree quickly stood out—the food is absolutely amazing, and the portions are incredibly generous. It’s rare to see servings like this nowadays, and the restaurant itself feels authentic and very clean. Unfortunately, the service tells a very different story. On both of my visits, the restaurant opened late, despite posted hours saying 5:00 p.m. Even after unlocking the doors, the cashier left the “closed” sign up and did not invite customers in. On my first visit, when I expressed excitement about trying the restaurant, I was met with rudeness—my questions were brushed off, the menu was thrown on the counter, and my order was taken in a dismissive, interrupting manner. I decided to give the restaurant another chance. Today, I had to call from outside to confirm they were even open, despite standing right in front of the door. After finally being allowed in, I placed my order and waited 25 minutes—only to realize my food had been ready without anyone letting me know. When I politely asked about it, the cashier raised his voice at me in front of other customers, claiming he was “too busy.” Meanwhile, people who arrived after me had already been served. Here’s my takeaway: Golden Tree delivers excellent food with portions that are hard to beat, but the service is consistently unprofessional, rude, and careless. For me, the poor treatment outweighs the good food. Sadly, I won’t be returning, even though I would have happily been a weekly customer.
