WHO LIKES SUSHI 🍱 I’ll be the first one to say it: sushi scares me. I’ll be the FIRST one to say it. I’ve tried it so many times and I have a bite and then my tongue starts to tingle in a way that’s not like pop rocks but more like nightmare. But this night at Kombu, I decided to be different. Take on the man and eat some sushi. I got the california roll and was in heaven (the good place)!! The staff was incredibly accommodating. I love them. Haven’t been to LA too many times but this was definitely a trip to remember. 🫡 Thank you for EVERYTHING darlings!!!

My family and I love this place. So friendly. The food is great. We come in the early afternoon to avoid a big crowd. The mochi has such a great presentation, definitely get dessert!

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. I loves the ambiance. The food was very fresh and I was very impressed with the presentation. The service was immaculate. My server Emme was very attentive and made sure that I had everything I needed to make my dining experience enjoyable. I highly recommend Kombu for date night and just a nice quiet evening for yourself. If you go...hopefully you'll have the pleasure of having Emme as your server 🙂🙂

my aunt and i came to eat on Saturday June 7th and Jesse was incredibly patient and kind. the food was incredible and fresh. i practically burned my mouth on how hot the food was. which is a good thing in my book. 💜 will definitely come back.

Tried one roll. The cajun roll. Changed my life. Here I am not even five minutes into my meal or ordering my second roll, and I am rating this place five stars. Great ambiance, great service, amazing food!

As soon as I arrived the atmosphere was super relaxing and welcoming. The lunch special they had was a great deal with the nigiri and sushi roll. Every piece tasted delicious and fresh. The beer variety was pleasant as well. Definitely need to come back again when I'm back in LA.

Great spot! The food is quite good, but a little expensive. But, it's sushi, and you get what you pay for. The servers and service is great. My only wish is that the outside tent area was a little more elegant, it feels like you're eating on a picnic table. Needs air conditioning.

Lovely place! Went for lunch and got 1 bento box and a few vegan sushi rolls. The miso soup and veggies in the bento box were delicious and fresh, and the vegan sushi rolls were great! Partner said that the chicken katsu was fluffy and had the crispiest breading ever! Super happy and loved hearing about Kombu’s story and seeing all the cute dogs! Will definitely recommend this place in this future

We came in for lunch and was greeted by Nabor and seated. Menu was offered and drink order was taken immediately. We had iced green tea which was very refreshing. We ordered a salad to share and some rolls. Thank you Nabor for the great congratulation and thank you for your kind wishes for my son.

This place is yummy and a great place to go on the weekend or during the week. They have places to sit outside, inside and in a back patio area. Everyone on their staff was polite and helpful. The food was yummy and plentiful. Everything was fresh and I would absolutely come again to try other items. The place is also pet and kid friendly.

Very nice sushi spot in Echo Park. We've visited before and sat inside, but tonight sat on the back patio. The staff was very fast and generous. We ordered a couple rolls and sake and within maybe 10 minutes had our food. Very fast service. Prices can get up there but we didn't mind paying 10 dollars a roll because they were delicious. Great location, great food, and a great staff. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a sushi spot. I'll be back soon!

All the small plates were very tasty, our server suggested the perfect Sake for our taste, and the sashimi was all very fresh and high quality. Most especially, the talented sushi chef we had the pleasure of watching as we sat at the bar made us feel very welcome and taken care of. I can't wait to visit again next time we are in LA.

Place is awesome, with high quality fish, salads and deserts. All dishes look stylish and very tasty. A little bit pricey, but you get what you paid for! Not for everyday, but once in a wile great spot for sure.

Kombu is a great neighborhood spot. Happy hour is a pretty good deal. I’ve eaten in and taken out many times, never disappointed! The food is always fresh and delicious; the staff is super sweet!

My partner and I love this place. The staff is the best, and fish always tastes fresh. Definitely awesome for the price. Their salmon fusion roll is so delicious, we also love the baja. And of course, we always close with a little blue fin nigiri treat.

This restaurant is small but they have a outdoor seating area in the back (former is a parking lot). I called four orders of sushi rolls and the best one is the rainbow rolls. I love to try the rainbow rolls at every sushi bar that I visited and this place had the best quality of rainbow rolls. Other rolls order is good too, however the portion is a little bit small compare others places. Our server know what the job and she explained everything clearly. Overall, this place is a must try for someone who love outdoor atmosphere and love sushi.

The baja roll was delicious but small. Most of the servers were very helpful. The back patio was pretty chill and perfect for our family. The satsuma fries were awesome!

Service was great! The special rolls and truffle sashimi were unique but the quality of the fish was not up to the high standards that I expected for a $20 roll. Their Citron roll was interesting and zesty but very spicy. We enjoyed their sake selection.

One less star for making us wait 20 minutes past our reservation time.

Excellent place for vegan/vegetarian sushi! They have one of the largest selections of vegan sushi I’ve ever seen on a non-vegan sushi place. The service is good. They make sure your water cup is full. They’re friendly and help you decide and the food arrives quickly. All the dishes we tried were delicious. The crunchy vegetarian roll could have more crunch and their rice can take improvements. But the food is good overall. The place has a superb relaxed ambience and I highly recommend seating in the patio area.

Tried this place for the first time as a last minute dinner. I ordered the California roll, Philadelphia roll, Yellowtail roll, Spicy Tuna roll, and the Calamari. The rolls were fresh & pleasant, well put together. I loved the portions of salmon in the Philadelphia roll as well as the cream cheese very good ratio. The calamari was a pleasant surprise as it had spicy seasoning and I was not expecting that. When I had looked on their menu the calamari didn’t have a description so I imagined it would just be calamari as it is more commonly prepared in sushi places but this one had a delicious flavor to it with the unexpected spicy seasoning. It wasn’t overly spicy if you’re someone who doesn’t really eat spicy but just a small pleasant hint.

I love Kombu so much, have been a customer for over 10 years and the sushi is my favorite in town, but I am just so tired of being burned by their takeout and delivery service. I have had orders take 2 or 3 times as long as expected, items not show up, and sometimes orders get cancelled entirely over an hour after I ordered. I wish they would get that side of the business together. My advice is to eat in.

I was a regular here. Got food poisoning on my last visit. I called to advise them. I also asked for a manager to call me to discuss but they ignored me.
