Avis sur Library Bar Los Angeles
very chill bar. it was quiet when i went, with dim lighting and a cozy feel. drinks were good, but i didnt have any food.
Good Spot to Chill. Very Low Key Atmosphere. And The Drinks are on Point. The Bartenders are very Polite and Attentive
Went here to watch Game of Thrones way back in 2019. Made for a fun atmosphere plus the GoT themed drinks were great too.
Hosted my boyfriend's birthday party here. Brandon, the GM made things amazing for us. We had a reserved space, great appetizers and drink tokens for our guests. The drinks were excellent, food was great and music was on point. Great energy in the space on a Wednesday night. Also loved the mixed crowd. Great place!
Last night after the Christmas parade my two friends said let’s go to the Library bar they make the best whiskey sour you will EVER have….omg this place is no joke! It’s dark relaxing with comfortable chairs and sofas AND if you see the tatted up bearded mixologist behind the bar??? Omg … get excited he is a genius. Please realize this bar is different than a regular one…they specialize in mixology and the tip is included when you check out yes…the drinks are well worth the price …it is their specialty if you care about fries and beer go to a dive bar.
Yeah I was not expecting this. I figured after a flight I would come around the corner and grab a small bite and a drink to relax….this exceeds my expectations. They should NOT be allowed to sell these darn pickles. I think I bit my finger twice because it was in that house made ranch. Yeah….definitely will be back before I leave the city!!!!
The Library Bar is the perfect drink spot in DTLA. They have some small bites (the chips and French Onion Dip were 10/10 no notes). And they make craft cocktails as well as any classics. I believe they may have music on the weekends but either way if you’re in the area it’s a solid place to grab a drink and hang out.
I just went for happy hour. Had the fish sandwich, which surprised me how good it was. Very limited food menu but atmosphere and drinks were great. Don't know why I never had been to this place before. Kind of have to looking for it to find from the street.
I’ve driven past Library Bar for years and always told myself I’d stop in there finally made it last night, and I’m glad I did. The drink menu is creative and fun, with cocktails named after books (with clever twists on the titles), which really adds to the charm. The atmosphere is relaxed but stylish, and the décor ties perfectly into the library theme, it feels cozy, unique, and different from your typical bar. It’s the kind of spot where you can enjoy a well-crafted drink and actually take in the vibe around you. Overall, a great experience and definitely worth the stop if you’re in the area. I’ll be back to work my way through more of the book-inspired cocktails.
Ngl those fries changed my life lol. Super good bar food! Love this place. The atmosphere is great, there's really nice clean bathrooms, drinks are great, and the bartenders were so friendly. Music choices were superb, and not too loud. Small and cozy, so probably better for small groups or individual hangouts. It wasn't very busy when my friend & I stopped by, and if I could, I would become a regular, haha.
I love a bar with a concept and was obsessed over the library theme. Though not exactly hidden, the walls of books and intimate, cozy seating felt akin to a speakeasy. The contrast of the classic study aesthetic against the neon, almost cyberpunk-esque bar was surprisingly harmonious. Best of all, on a Thursday night at 7pm, this place was barely populated - which was wonderful because I got prime choice of seat next to the bookcase on the sofa and could take as many pictures as I wanted. The bartender was so nice and helpful in navigating my “reading list” for the night. My first “novel” was the “Adventure of Blackberry Finn,” a blackberry infused vodka with lemon and blackberry smush. On said adventure with Finn, I fell off the raft and was doggy paddling in the vodka. Some cocktails coyly hide their spirits as they lure you into a sense of false security. Library Bar cocktails are not like that. They don’t hide their spirits - they’re leading the pep rally. They are upfront and honest about what they contain. Take a sip and it’s undeniably VODKA. Despite that, I still thought it tasted good. Sweet, fresh, and bang for your buck with how strong it was. The burger was quite yummy for something served at a bar. Maybe (definitely) I was already quite tipsy at this point, but I liked the burger. My friend thought it was kinda dry, but I didn’t. The fries were also nice and fluffy. I do wish they didn’t run out of the poutine… that sounded good. It probably would’ve helped soak up the alcohol too. To be honest, I thought the literary drink names were so cute I couldn’t resist ordering a second drink. Of Ice and Mezcal was, as the bartender described it, almost a straight up spirit. Sipping on it was actually quite pleasant - the smoky taste of the Mezcal paired well with the brightness from the grapefruit bitters. But it was definitely too much for my second drink of the night (I really should have listened oops). I would definitely come back! I see myself stopping by after work to bask in the ambiance and enjoy a nice drink - especially on weeknights on their off hours. What should I “read” next hehe…
Fantastic cocktails. Cozy and local. Baseball was on and the crowd was engaged but not loud. Perfect balance. Service was a bit slow but I wasn’t in a rush so it wasn’t a problem but fair to tell others in case they are headed out to a show or concert.
Opened Wednesday to Sundays with Happy Hour from 5-7 pm! A relaxing vibe that has books all around making the library atmosphere. A fun concept and has a romantic/intimate vibe with it as well. Pretty good cocktails, but a bit on the pricier side. I really enjoyed the Bar Nuts for something to snack on. A bit spicy and sweet! For cocktails, the Tequila Mockingbird was my favorite! A spicy cocktail that was smooth! The Adventures of Blackberry Finn was tasty too. Overall, a cute bar in DTLA to check out!
Yesterday, my pal and I came here for happy hour drinks/food. The drinks were tasty and the bartenders who made them were nice. The food was typical bar food... I ordered the fried cauliflower, which was great, but the loaded fries weren't as exciting. I was OK with it, though. It's bar food, I guess. As soon as we ordered our drinks, we were asked if we wanted to open a tab. Yes. But, since it was two of us, we wanted to open a tab for each. They explained it was easier to put us on one tab, then separate when we checked out. Weird, but OK. We go to close our tab/settle our bill, and they drop off one bill. I flagged the bartender lady down to tell her we were supposed to have two separate bills, and all she said was, "Sorry." Like, Oopsie, sorry, but no, we're not going to bother separating your bill. And then it got really weird. My friend looked at the bill and she was charged regular price for two drinks and one of the appetizers. She was also charged 20% for gratuity because the bill was over $100. First of all, we specifically requested we separate our tabs when we arrived and were told we could when we closed our bill. They didn't honor that. All we got was a "sorry." We both think the reason they don't split bills is so they can charge 20% gratuity. And, seriously, it's not like we ordered a ton of food. 3 appetizers and 4 drinks, and the bill was $128 dollars! I tip well, so it's not like they wouldn't have gotten a decent tip from me, anyway. And then, it got REALLY weird. It took three people in a huddle to review the overcharge. The lady bartender brought it over and said it had been fixed. My friend looked at it, and it STILL wasn't. They didn't fix the overcharge on her appetizer. She brought it to the attention of the lady bartender and she was like, "the chicken was $5." My friend was like, "I'm going to go ahead and pay it, but your website/menu says the chicken is $2 extra, NOT $5." That's when the lady got really curt and said, "we're aware and we're working on fixing it." Here's my second of all: if you have a listed price for Happy Hour, but it's wrong, you should still honor it. YOU made the mistake, not the customer. That's super bad business to be like, "It's wrong, so you have to pay the price we don't have listed on the website." Not only that, but when they huddled together to review the bill, then brought it back, the lady bartender said it had been fixed. No, no, it hadn't been, and she knew it. Sad. 2 stars for the cool decor and for the nice bartenders we had at the beginning.
We were there for New Year’s Eve and it was one of the most odd experiences of all time. They called last call at 11:15 ON NEW YEARS EVE. They closed the bar before the ball even dropped. And we were on the street by the time it turned 12. One of the bar tenders was extremely rude and was treating us extremely not well. We were a group of 20 people and spent a ton. Cocktails also sucked.
The atmosphere was not an issue, but rather false advertisement. The beverage, Adventures of Hucklberry Finn, is being marketed at differing prices: $7 and $18. So this was a bit upsetting. Looks like your algorithms for filtering can be updated for Google Maps. Also, if management is going to have the main screen on, please feature visuals. A big blue screen may be blinding, and setting the wrong impression.
