Old school LA celeb haunt that is so under the radar that I barely want to review it publicly. Red booths, Tiffany lamps, unbelievably good value wine menu. Go to meal: Linguine Vongole (white clam sauce). I have had literally thousands of these in my life and this hands down had the most clams I’ve ever had on this dish. The sauce is truly clam forward and it’s so good. And it’s not too garlicky which some places lean on for primary flavor. Filet Mignon Meatballs- YUMMMMMMMMM Cauliflower- it’s like poached in a crack sauce it’s so good, tender, slightly lemony, yes butter.
It was really iconic and beautiful place. I also had a wonderful time here. Romantic vibes and server with nice manner. Every food was decent, traditional homemade Italian dishes.. I'd like to recommend you to visit and enjoy!!
I’m giving this awesome place 5 stars not because it’s posh or some trendy, gourmet, bougie place…it’s based on. 5 star old school Naugahyde Italian place where the food is a literal delight to the palate in a way that embodies the love and time put into a traditional Italian family meal. It’s everything you want from this type of place. Parking can be challenging but we got a spot right up front 🎉 The tomato sauce here is literally divine and that is the basis of good Italian food. It takes time and love💗 there is no scrimping allowed or 🤷♀️ We got the calamari which was tender and the sauce amazing. We split a Cesar (see picts for size) which was the literal perfect flavor balance 🎉 We god sand dabs and chicken piccata as the 2 main courses. The sand dabs were flavorful (I like them a little more crispy - but there are no half stars so🤷♀️🎉). My chicken was delish. The martinis were literally 5 stars - perfectly balanced and ICEY which I love ❄️❄️❄️ They don’t have patron silver - for my personally created patron martini but I now like Don Julio silver Better🎉🎉🎉so good! We ended with a tartufo for dessert which was very nice ( my husband loved it - I prefer to drink my dessert) The darling professional waiter made me the MOST magical after dinner drink: Anejo patron Expresso Tia Maria Amaretto As a martini 😳💗😳🎉🎉🎉wow! I told him to make me a magical coffee drink for dessert and bam 🎉🎉🎉perfecto💗 Personal high level service and soulfully delicious food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Amazing food and atmosphere. The best on Lamu or Manda islands.
Old school Italian place, super cute ambiance. the service was fantastic and the food was amazing. The perfect date night location. The place is pretty pricey so expect to spend a little.
Bellissimo Enjoyed the cacio e pepe I love italian food. They delivered.
Traditional delicious Italian favorites. Intimate atmosphere, good service, and great wine list.
The cauliflower is a delight. I had a chicken Vesuvius which was excellent. Red peppers and artichoke in a nice sauce to go with the chicken. Excellent wine and lots of atmosphere. A very comfortable old school dining experience.
Amazing food, and amazing atmosphere. And historic place! The bowl of pasta fagioli was the best I've ever eaten.... And I'm Sicilian! UPDATE MAY 2024: Same pasta e fagole...and still amazing!!!
One of my all time favorite’s! Excellent staff Jesus & Ricardo, thank you all. The food was excellent as always!
This is such a classy, authentic place. You must come here.

I have been there several times with my wife, good wine section, and as always, great food , never disappoint, highly recommend 👌
We walked over here for just a glass of wine and a late night snack. I can’t speak to the whole menu. We had a few glasses of wine and the calamari and we’re not disappointed. We ran into the most interesting people and love the entire vibe of this old school restaurant. We will definitely be back to try the full menu since the whole restaurant feels like a hug from the 70s. Every last person we ran into from the restaurant was super friendly and the service is absolutely on point. If the dinner service is anything like the service we got at the bar I’m sure it will be amazing.
This place takes you back many decades, but it's genuine. The food is classic Italian, the service is good and the atmosphere is apparently unchanged since opening, so it's a genuine retro experience. Id grab the table at the end of the bar that the regulars don't gravitate to buy it's my favorite. Don't come when I do, in that case. Unless you're with me. Ha.
We walked in without a reservation. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The place is old and homey feeling. But we weren't looking for an Italian Apple Store feel. The food was great. Our waiter Eric was professional and attentive but not overbearing. We're not Italian food aficionado's, but we do have a sense of things. The seared / roasted potato that came with our meatballs was awesome. We'll be back. The price is high but we're not complaining. This is Brentwood.
Quaint atmosphere, awesome service, and great food. Large portions and a great choice of wine. I'm vegan, and they were able to accommodate me with a fantastic pasta dish that wasn't even on the menu!

Chill spot. Been here a few times and it’s always been kinda slow. Food is good but seems a little pricy for what it is. I had filet mignon Bolognese as well which was good nothing memorable. The spaghetti and meatballs was also OK. I did like the martinis, though. It’s a good place to try at least once.

Sort of torn on this spot. The way staff was great - and the overall experience is like being in The Godfather (red leather banquets, martinis, dimly lit room, etc) - but the food is just not up to snuff. And way too expensive for what it is…
Not sure where to start with the restaurant as I had someone tell me this was one of their favorite restaurants and I had to try it...last night was the night I tried it. We had 7:00 reservations and walked in to a very quiet restaurant, parking was easy, metered parking and the restaurant was very very quiet. We ordered a Tom Collins and a Mojito, we were told that they couldn't make a Mojito because they didn't have the ingredients and the Tom Collins was eh ok. The garlic bread came out and it not only smelled amazing the flavor was wonderful. For appetizers, we ordered buffalo mozzarella and I've never seen it presented in the manner we received it. The cheese was cold and tasted like something we would get at the market, it was served on chopped lettuce with pickles and 2 roasted cherry tomatoes. We also ordered soft-shelled crab (this was an entree portion but we wanted to try it), I can't put my finger on it but it was very mediocre. We split a caesar salad, but again very bland and we didn't barley eat any of it. For my entree, I ordered the special, veal osso buco with gnocchi and we ordered the filet mignon (sliced). Unfortunately, again it was just ok. And then there is the glass of wine we ordered, per the waiter's suggestion, but neither one of us drank it. I am giving this a 2 star because the waiter was very kind and he tried to make it as spectacular as he could. It was very nice that they brought out a birthday cake for me and sang happy birthday.

Honestly, not sure how they can charge the amount they do for the food you get. Atmosphere, food, service amazing. Paying $60 bucks for chicken picatta, not amazing. Paying $27 for a wilted romain lettuce ceasar salad, not amazing. Paying $104 for 4 drinks, not amazing. Im not sure what was going on for a place thats been open for 60 years. It was dead, on a Saturday night..might need to change some stuff up. But the servers were beyond nice and attentive and engaging.

Shockingly disappointing and a major rip off. Can’t believe this place is in business, overcharging double what decent restaurants charge in Brentwood. Basic menu, frozen ingredients, terrible service, massive mark-up on wine. Spent $450 for 2 people & was extremely disappointed. This is diner quality food, if even that. Want my money & time back!

This place used to be fabulous. My salad came out drenched in oil, so not a Caesar salad with wilted greens. My salmon was so so the bread was great and I got a Telya all in all I was very disappointed. I saw many people not finished their food and the clams were terrible. Oh my God it tasted like they were old like old Ned. ! for $300 for the dinner it wasn’t worth but about 30 !!!bucks. Never going back maybe for a glass of wine and that’s it ! Baltaire is way better!!!!!
