Avis sur Rappahannock Oyster Bar Los Angeles
Rappahannock Oyster Bar is located at ROW DTLA in Los Angeles. It’s a Latin-Mexican style seafood restaurant in a great spot where you can enjoy the unique architecture of ROW while dining. They offered three types of oysters during my visit, and the guest oysters from Seattle were especially fresh and delicious. While there isn’t a special dozen deal, oysters are reasonably priced at about $3.50–$4 each, making it easy to enjoy a few at a time. I also tried the ceviche — it was a little on the salty side, but the chewy and fresh texture was very enjoyable. Overall, a nice place for seafood lovers in downtown LA.
I was craving oysters and this place did not disappoint. The food was very good, but the staff are a little flat in energy. I loved the seating and the openness of the atmosphere. I highly recommend coming here whenever you have a seafood craving!
Amazing food! Not just oysters! Great cocktails! Superb service! Excellent ambiance! Parking is validated for the adjacent parking structure. I thoroughly enjoyed the steak aguachile! One of the tastiest dishes I’ve ever had. The steak is thin sliced and marinated in lime juice. It’s not terribly spicy so I loved it! Superbly delicious! The lobster rolls are pretty good too and the raw oysters are good as well. Yummy beignets! Their cocktails are great and averagely priced. I had a mezcal mule. Service is fast, friendly and cool! I loved the lively ambiance! They played great rock and pop en español!
A great place if you love Oysters, lobster, etc! They have a great menu! And the service is always friendly and great! I had a birthday dinner there a couple years back but we go every year! The kids love it too! 2 hrs free parking.
I had a great time here for lunch. I love the decor and outdoor seating for this restaurant. It draws you in when you walk by. I had incredible service by DJ. He was hilarious and we did not have to wait long for anything. His suggestions were spot on for everything. So, when it came down to trying a few sauces or other things I was not sure of, I listened and ultimately was happy I did. I cannot recommend the oyster po boy enough. It was SO GOOD.
I'll be back for more lobster 🦞 rolls. My husband loves oysters. I unfortunately, have developed a food intolerance to them, but enjoy watching him eat them.
Great service so good that I’m leaving a review before I even get my food. Great service was provided by two Hispanic ladies I’ll update this after having the food Update Caesar salad was different but really good. Taste like a great home made Caesar salad for sure Calamari was prolly some of the worst I’ve ever had Steak frites were really good and highly recommend Overall great dining experience and highly recommend to anyone who chooses this
I’ve been to this restaurant many times, and I order different meals every time, but it‘s amazing. If you coming, you must order oysters, especially the salty oysters, are super fresh. The lobster series here is very good. It is very suitable for friends together sharing, and also have friendly staff 🥰
Super cute spot. Food was amazing. Everything was fresh and beautifully seasoned. Had: The Michi with 1x crispy oyster & 3x shrimp: ✅ Lobster roll: usually with cold lobster, but I asked for it warm with melted butter, which they were able to make and omg so perfect! The bread is so light and fluffy but slightly crispy on the outside, yum! 🦞 ✅ Oyster tacos: made with crispy deep fried oysters and a coleslaw with capers ✅ Baked Oysters with miso jalapeno butter and grilled bread: So good! ✅ I could write more but I'm sure y'all get the point. We had more dishes, but everything was just as great! Happy hour is decent also, 3-5p, M-T. Unique dishes and perfectly executed.
Cool space, awesome oysters. Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for a quick bite. We had reservations and they were running a little bit behind, but they were friendly and seated us within 20 minutes. Our server was friendly and prompt and the food came quickly. The fries and oysters were great - fries were hot and oysters were all delicious. We tried three different types of oysters and all were good to the degree we even ordered more! Cool location, would recommend checking out!
A delicious seafood dinner located in the Row DTLA. I have been to the Row many times for Smorgasbord and other restaurants in the vicinity but tonight was my first time at Rappahannock. Parking is extremely easy, plentiful, and the first two hours are free. They have a lot of great seafood options on the menu so it took me a few minutes to choose what I wanted to eat. Our server was also very polite and attentive, and all the food items came out very quickly. We started the meal with the Hamachi Crudo and it was great. It was heavy on the vinegar sauce, but I happen to be a big fan of vinegar. We followed it up with a dozen Oysters and chose six of each type that they offered. The horseradish with it was very spicy, which I truly loved, and I could’ve easily ordered a dozen more. Probably my favorite part of the dinner. Next came the Watermelon & Cucumber Salad, which was a real hit. It was large in portion and I especially loved the strawberries and feta mixed in. Next we shared the Barcat Oyster Chowder which was filled with clams and delicious potatoes. For the entrée, we shared the Seafood Gumbo, which was loaded with delicious seafood in a rich broth and was the perfect amount of food for two people. It would be quite a lot for one person unless that’s all you ordered. Overall a great seafood dinner with easy parking and a really casual but upscale vibe. I would recommend to any fan of seafood, or anyone looking to have a great dinner in the Arts District.
In an old brick factory, this restaurant is truly a wonderful find. The shrimp and grits are the best I have had anywhere in the low country. They are blackened with squid ink and are absolutely divine, with a little bit of a sweet flavor. Pleasant, intimate seating and ample parking.
They have outdoor seating. Servers were very nice and no complaints about the food. Loved the condiments for the oysters! Different. The lobster roll had lots of lobster pieces in it!

Had the oyster chowder and raw oysters to follow. The chowder was rich in butter & cream, fresh oyster flavor, potatoes & soft celery bits paired with rustic buttered bread soft in center & crispy edges. We tried two different types of oysters and clams. The flavors varied from shuttle ocean flavor to more rich and salty with a touch of the sauces you choose - horseradish/cocktail/tobasco. The environment was nicely done with good lighting & music in an old vintage building. Servers had their own individual attire & style paired with professional representation of the restaurant - just the right amount of guidance & suggestions regarding the menu. I will return and try more of the menu. I highly recommend this place.

Overall ⭐⭐⭐½☆ (3.5/5) Environment ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ We went to ROW DTLA and picked this spot for brunch. Outdoor seating was nice—sitting in the sun was comfortable—but there’s a lot of car traffic nearby, so it gets quite noisy. Food ⭐⭐⭐½☆ Very standard brunch food and felt overpriced for what it was. Nothing was bad, but nothing stood out either. No coffee here. Will I come back? Not for brunch.
Came for happy hour. Loved the stuffed avocado with lobster. The grilled oysters were also good. My husband liked the calamari. The ceviche tostada was a little spicy. The nachos with shrimp were ok. We also got the cocktail of the day which was a blood orange daiquiri. They validate parking. We will return. The whole shopping area is one we need to explore.
It’s in the fashion district in downtown LA. Kind of quiet place in the middle of busy downtown LA. Lunches are normally very busy. Evening are quiet and romantic. Food was good. The hamburger was the best, lobster fries was good too, soft shell crab sandwich was ok. Oysters were a little disappointed. The best oyster in my opinion should have THREE important check points: FRESH, Clean(no broken shells), and JUICY (original juicy in the shell at presentation). The oysters here are fresh and juicy, but 2/3 of them has broken shells.
Went here for brunch and happy hour on separate occasions. Favorite dishes were the lobster roll, oysters and kimchi fried rice. Their menu is pretty extensive and there were other dishes like the poutine, clam chowder and mac and cheese that would be worth returning for to try. The portions are fair so you won’t leave feeling hungry. Free two hour parking at the row. They take reservations too but doesn’t seem too busy on the weekdays for happy hour.
I am glad that they are still doing well and even expanded the menu during Covid. I can tell from the menu, they have more fresh goodies to enjoy! We had two rounds of oysters (omg so fresh so good), raw bay scallops (surprisingly good), raw clams (bit fishy), hamachi was to die for, and lobster poutine. We enjoyed most of the raw dishes that day! Everything was fresh except for the clams which I found them quite fishy, the rest of the dishes hit the spot. Also, we opted for a Kimchi biscuit plate (came with 2 biscuits, kimchi butter, and honey) and a chicken waffle. The biscuits were surprisingly good (soft and warm) even though we couldn't taste any kimchi flavor in the butter. As for the chicken & waffles, this is the second time I had it here. Unfortunately not my fave! Just a bit too dry in general. Cocktails were mostly good, fly me away was my favorite. (It tastes a bit like a New York sour, so delicious) All in all, good atmosphere + tasty seafood! Here are my top choices: 1. "West coast oysters", slightly better than East coast selections. 2. "Raw bay scallops" and 3. "hamachi" were so tasty. Cocktails were on point too. Cheers!

Located in the ROWDTLA, amazing food and atmosphere. Outdoor and indoor seating available. Tried the lobster roll and lobster mac and cheese as well as some cocktails and everything was good. Heads up they charge 5 dollars for bottled coke.
We came here for the oysters. While they were good and fresh, ours sadly were not shocked properly or purged, so we got shell bits in ours and you could see sand and grit in one. Id still go back and try again, cause maybe it was just an off day.
