Avis sur Teddy's Cafe Los Angeles
I came in late on a Tuesday night. They were putting up chairs, and there was one customer dining in, but they took the time to greet me and feel welcome. The meal was terrific spot on cooked to perfection. The prices are great doesn't seem like Teddy has increase the prices since they've upgraded the. Lol #classicregister they still use to this day. I'll be back! #5-stars
Very homely atmosphere. Friendly customer service. Hot and fresh food. The parking lot is a little small and tight but there's two entrance/exits. There's no menu online but they do offer over the phone orders. I ordered the T-bone steak and eggs with fresh fruit, a pancake and fresh squeezed orange juice. It was all perfect and flavorful. Minimum wait time (10 mins or less). 10/10 highly recommend.
I tried the quesadilla, plain eggs with potatoes, and hot cakes — everything tasted really good. The atmosphere was welcoming and the employees had a kind, friendly attitude. Just a heads-up, this is a cash-only restaurant. They do have an ATM inside, and if you don’t have your card, Zelle is also accepted (which I ended up using).
Great place to grab a meal! Food was yummy and filling while also reasonably priced. The staff and owners were super nice and quick as well. Somewhat old fashioned, but in the best way possible. Overall great place to grab a bite and I would highly recommend. I got the Teddy’s burger and it came with a soup and fries so I got the clam chowder which was hearty. The burger was cooked well, but a little tall haha. Great value and I was full for just $13. Also have to add my appreciation to Theodore “Teddy” for giving me a free hat for being a fellow Theodore and taking the time to chat with me. Will definitely be coming back.
It's a classic and authentic American diner. We usually go there for lunch or sometimes for breakfast on weekends. Reasonable prices, professional service, ample parking, etc. It's perfect. They only accept cash and there's an ATM in the restaurant. I've been going there for 7-8 years and I think I'll keep going. It's a great experience for locals and tourists alike.
A true old school diner in West LA. Those who are fans of Rae's in Santa Monica will love this place because they're owned by the same guy. Teddy's feels more old school and salt-of-the-earth, but the food, service, and value remain top notch with really unique atmosphere and a nice shaded patio. It is a cash only restaurant. Simple American breakfast at a great value!
It's a family affair. Without the overhead of credit card fees, at Teddy's is all cash, and the place is packed. The extended terrace was no less full at noon with a temp of 63° . The clientele seems to be a regular crowd. I saw more than one family greed with other customers. What a friendly family environment. The majority of customers were families with kids. Friendly service serving customers in both languages English and Spanish. As I was walking out, a family of seven was walking in. A middle-aged man in the parking lot with his family quickly answered that they have been coming to Freddy's for the past six years, almost every day. And, added "even during the pandemic," with a wide smile." In the parking lot, a young woman is waiting for her car. An older gentleman, possibly three times her age, shows up. He greets her with a smile and a "Hello. Hello." They get in the car and drive away. I couldn't resist waiting on my car to see who else would show up. As the couple drove away, a family of five was stepping out of their vehicle. Two couples, a young man and a child. The younger woman holding the child by her hand couldn't deny, even if she tried, that the older couple was their parents. Both women had the same body structure, slim and mid high, and curly hair and same facial features. An older man gets out of a car. A younger man gets out of the drivers side and walks to the passenger's side to help an older woman. They all three walk to the restaurant. After 30 minutes of seating in my car, the scene is repeated as more car park. Families, couples, and solos, young and old, kept arriving. Younger people were driving out, helping older folks who perhaps are grandparents. Teddy's is a family affair Take a look at the menu. Reasonable prices because they have avoided the extra credit card charges. The location was a secret for me. I have overlooked Freddy's for the last 15 years. I drive by at least four times a week. I live only a few blocks away. Easy to overlook from the outside. There is no fancy decoration outside. There is a handwritten sign and a simple neon open sign. A street sign announces "Teddy's Cafe." "Open for 35 years now," the owner tells me. Julio, the waiter and the other two waitresses, know customers by name or at least customers know their names. I like consistency. I went back on Jan 1st. The scenes were repeated. It's a family affair.
Marvelous food for excellent price! The turkey on my turkey, bacon, lettuce, and cheese sandwich was carved turkey breast, not deli slices. It had just the right amount of mayonnaise on it, not slathered on. The cole slaw was made from scratch with tasty dressing that was not watery or too much. Service was friendly and quick.
My husband has visited this place multiple times and I got to visit for the first time with him. We had their chicken casserole (love the comfort food style, creamy, not too salty and great portion - yuuum), and crunchy beef taco plate (honestly, better than many Mexican restaurants. juicy beef, fresh/crispy taco shells, fresh veg, home-made salsa and rice/bean/veg sides). We also tried their blueberry pie for dessert (served with ice cream). I am usually not a fan of blueberries but this was top-knotch! Apparently, Teddy makes these from scratch. In addition to their amazing food, the owners Teddy and Maria are such warm, friendly and wonderful people who always make you feel welcome and treat their customers like family. Less and less places like Teddy's around now and I hope that Maria and Teddy will stay around for a long, long time!
Technically I've been driving around this area for 10 years because of the jobs that I've been going to which are near Santa Monica and Brentwood and I would always see this restaurant but I would never stop there. I mean I was always curious to try this restaurant but I never had any attempt of going. And then finally today me and my family decided to go and I'm so glad that we finally had the attempts of going. The food was delicious the food that me my mom and my dad mostly got was just plain simple we got a plain simple sandwich and a burger I got myself a nice tuna sandwich and it was amazing I was so in love with that sandwich that I didn't want to stop eating the sandwich because it was so good. The coleslaw was probably the best coleslaw that I've ever had in my entire life. But best of all we got the best staff service ever. The staff was very helpful very pleasant and they made our experiences be the best one. I also had a very delicious coconut cookie that I had was amazing and the hot chocolate and coffee that I had was delicious. I also love the 1950s theme of the restaurant I love how everything is just old school there's no computer on the cash register it's just a plain old regular cash register. The toy model cars that they have of the 1950s I love it there's even a picture of Lucille Ball. And oh the parking is free. this place has definitely won me over I am definitely coming back. ❤️❤️❤️ I highly recommend this to anybody who's coming to LA to check out teddy's cafe it's the best place of all
Just absolute American breakfast heaven at this place. The chicken fried steak was to die for and the hot cakes perfectly prepared. Service was impeccable. The decor is exactly what you would expect from a timeless American breakfast place. By the way the coffee is bottomless too! Between two people we spent about USD$32 including everything. Not a bad price for LA for such a timeless restaurant. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed!
A hidden gem and fabulous old school dinner. Our waiter had worked there for 27 years. It was so amazing watching him greet the locals by name. He knew exactly what they wanted to drink and eat. That alone is why I rate so highly. The food was mouth watering…… we had breakfast. Biscuits and gravy y’all are delicious and plentiful. Coffee is exactly on point. This is a cash only facility so that’s a good point to know. Don’t leave without getting pie!!!!!
For cash only, if you are in the area Teddy’s is hard to beat for the price, quantity, and taste! Nothing fancy - simple and tasty with good service. Beware it does get busy in the mornings but somehow my coffee mug was always full! Great breakfast options - we ended up going 2 mornings and would have gone again if we weren’t passing thru.
One of the cheapest diners in Los Angeles. I can’t believe it took me so long to stop in because I work only a few miles from here. As mentioned the prices are extremely reasonable, a big reason most likely is because they are cash only. They have an ATM on the inside just in case. They also have a very large free parking lot attached. Otherwise it will be street parking. They have a fairly large menu filled with all the classic diner options. They also have a lot of daily specials, which is what I chose today. Service was a bit slow and our server was not the most polite waitress that I’ve ever had. The food is also pretty good, although not in the great category in my opinion. It was fairly busy and lively when we were there but we only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. I started off with a cup of coffee and the two biscuits and gravy for $2.50. At that price it’s impossible to beat but I was not the biggest fan of the gravy and wish the biscuits would have been fluffier. Not the best I’ve had this year but still worth getting. I chose one of the specials of the day, which was the Eggs Benedict. Again it was pretty good although not great. A lot of it comes down to the hollandaise sauce quality. This one was a bit too watery in my opinion. Also, the potatoes were more home style potatoes even though I requested hashbrowns. Overall a pretty good diner, and I would recommend even though I have to give it a 4/5 because of service and food quality.
