Great place for clubs and groups to hang out and grab food and drinks. The staff accomodated my large group outside and the vibes where very welcoming.
Staff is great and there's so much seating. Great drink menu. They made a change with their tenders- there's like a new dough that fries differently- and am not a fan. Really like that they host group events.
a wonderful medley of a dive and a brewery. big booths and horseshoe bar inside, and a paved, sunny outdoor space. great beer and solid bar food. friendly vibes. classic!
Great beers and wine, great food, even better staff. Truly a great spot. I went on my dog's birthday to get him a burger and the staff was so helpful. They made sure his was free from salt and onions, and ours were made the way we want. The staff is fantastic and the drinks are well curated. The fried pickles and jalapenos are great too!
This bar has a cool neighborhood vibe, tucked into Highland Park. Their craft beer selection is impressive, and they even have some unique local brews you won’t find elsewhere. The food menu is limited but solid—the burger I tried was juicy and flavorful. The lighting is dim, giving it a relaxed, intimate atmosphere. It feels like a local hangout without the pretension
The Hermosillo is a cool, dive bar-esque location on York Blvd. only came for a couple drinks as the occasion was a bar crawl while visiting Los Angeles and the ambiance here was great. Tried the local LA craft beers and they were good, from the hazy to their lagers. Big shout out to both Devin and Hailey who were nothing short of amazing giving me their opinions on their selections and what other drinks were popular, etc. Simple, unpretentious and ample seating on a busy Saturday night. Patio out front is a solid location for the bigger groups and the outside views.
Cool little local bar in Highland Park. Great place for inexpensive bar food and drinks. Burgers are amazing. The beer selection is fantastic and the wine selection is imaginative including orange wine. The customers here are friendly. You can have some nice conversations and meet a lot of dogs. The staff are also friendly and attentive. This is a great place for a quick bite and a drink or to hang out for a while with friends.
Yeah! Good beer selection, in a nice laid-back atmosphere. And the grub is great, too! (my go-to: vegan dog and a side of crinkle fries). It’s nice inside (chill), but Hermosillo is also wonderful when the weather is nice and you can enjoy the full beer garden and picnic tables. The Hermosillo is a staple of Highland Park.
Such a fun spot. They only have beer and wine, no cocktails, but it’s very much a hanging spot. It’s the type of place I just want to spend time with one other person sharing a bottle of wine after smoking a joint outside. It’s very chill, never too busy, and very good for people watching.
Great place for infants, great beer & food! We had a meet up with friends and was thankful that us and another couple were able to bring our infants with us. It was a Tuesday evening and we sat outside. Not too loud and plenty of tables. We ended up staying for 3 hours with our babies sleeping on their carriers, while we enjoyed a good selection of beers and food. I had the birria tacos and my husband has the fried chicken sandwich. Both delicious and filling! Can’t wait to be back!
Great outdoor seating and beer and wine options as well a food. Happy they have some plant based eats here like the vegan street dog. The wait is pretty short and everything and everyone is well spaced out. The have standing tables, park bench style tables and more. The service is excellent!
Used to be my favorite place to grab food and drinks with friends, but now has become a daycare. The outdoor area is mostly children, and the bathroom stalls are always filled with babies. There used to be a few kids, which was fine, but now the outdoor area feels like a children's birthday party with kids running everywhere. Herm is losing its vibe. :(
Great outdoor seating plenty of it I can't say I had a bad experience with any other servers there I've tried only variations of their. Smashburger and they were all delicious. Seems like they have a good variety of beers and spirits. Usually here on Wednesdays there's a bike club that meets up here and ends right here.
Went to a last minute elopement party. My friends’ house burned down along with their wedding venue in the Alta Dena fire. The place is huge and filled with dogs both inside and one both outside patios. The wine list is limited. The beer list is epic. The food is ok. The friend pickles and jalapeños wasn’t too spicy but tasted like rewarmed leftover fried food. The tacos were fine. But my local taco truck is heaps better at 2/3 the cost. The crispy chicken sandwich was less than ok. The chicken fry, the bun also dry and not dressed. It’s was thrown together like a late night sandwich you might make for yourself coming home from the bar—except I’ll bet that sandwich you make is way better. Cute huge back patio area that’s great to gather a big group. But overall good vibe, meh food.
So I came here with my friends Friday night, got a beer and we went to sit outrside where there were other people chillin drinking smoking and all that. We were there for about 30 minutes then some dude who I assume works here tells us that we had to leave the patio cause it was "closed". Yet he only went up to us and not the other huge group. They themself was on the patio drinking with a group of women at the patio yet we had to leave apparently. We stayed put as no one else left and then a woman went up to us like an hour later to tell us to leave and again, they only told us. I've lived in Highland Park longer than any of these people here and I am so disgusted how they treated us considering we were minding our own business having a good time. I dont know why they decided to specifically want us to leave but if your a Highland Park OG, go somewhere else lol
6 FORKS!! Went here Saturday night (1/17/26) while in LA meeting up with friends. We were in a booth, having a super fun time. Drinks were good, food was good, and overall the night should’ve been great. I asked a food runner for six plastic forks so my friends and I could play a game. As she was grabbing them, the bartender (red hair, didn’t catch her name) made her frustration very clear toward the food runner, in front of me and other guests, for simply trying to give me six plastic forks. It was so awkward. I worked in the food industry for 10 years, so I don't say this lightly. It’s never okay to treat coworkers like that, especially in front of guests. If there was an issue (and I’m genuinely confused how six plastic forks could be the issue here), it should’ve been handled privately and professionally, not in the middle of the restaurant. I’m writing this to make the owner aware of what’s happening on the floor so something can be done, because this place is great and this kind of interaction really doesn’t need to be happening. This review is for the food runner. No one should be treated this way.
As a Highland Park resident of 35 years, I’m regretfully sharing a disturbing event I witnessed at this establishment. On 12/7/25 at around 1:00 PM, I visited this bar and encountered what felt like blatant discriminatory service from the bartender. The bartender — a thin, young Caucasian man, about 5’10” with a balding appearance — refused to acknowledge or serve me despite the bar being nearly empty (only 2 other customers drinking from glasses of wine in a conversation with said bartender). I stood by patiently at arms length from their interaction. Two customers arrived after me,stood beside me and were immediately approached by the bartender. They told him they weren’t ready, and since they were standing right next to me, I politely stated, “I’m ready — I’ve been ready here.” He continued to ignore me&avoid eye contact with me despite standing just a few steps away. Even the customers pointed out to him, “Oh, she’s ready,” he ignored them as well and repeated, while maintaining eye contact only with them, “Are YOU ready to order? — and YOU?” (Looking at the second person in their party). The customers awkwardly placed their order, then turned to me and joked, “What’d you do — piss him off?” implying this behavior wasn’t surprising to them. I replied, “Sure seems like it,” even though I had never interacted with this bartender before and had no idea why I was being treated this way. After being ignored yet again, I left. The deliberate and sustained neglect felt targeted and racially motivated, creating an environment that was deeply unwelcoming. The experience carried a painful, outdated sense of exclusion that I never expected to encounter in my own community. It is disheartening to see this kind of behavior in a neighborhood as diverse and hipster as Highland Park. No establishment should make customers feel marginalized or unwelcome. I strongly urge both the public and management to take this issue seriously and address what appears to be discriminatory behavior in their service. Please prove me wrong.
