Avis sur Toranj Los Angeles
I was in a daze after flying into CA for work, checking into my hotel, and trying to find something to eat nearby. The smells and lively atmosphere drew me across the street. This place has a wonderful menu, but the feeling of being a beloved local spot was apparent after only being here for a half hour. Families and friends were coming and going, hugging, shouting and laughing over shared stories. Even with the posh modern style, the restaurant felt lived in and warm. And the staff are just stellar, constantly checking in to make sure everyone is enjoying themselves. Best service I've seen in a long while.
The food was really good, the garlic bread, the hummus with olive, and the eggplant dip with yogurt and mint was amazingly tasty, the falafel was also absolutely delicious. The portion of the food was crazy - considering the price it was definitely a surprise - but later i realized that this is close to UCLA so that make sense. Anyways, had a great dinner with colleagues and will be back.
Service is a bit slow, inconsistent needing help but the food is decent and good. I learned not to order the “Loobia Polo (Green Beans & Rice)” since it did not taste good to me at all but everything else tasted decent during my last 3 visits. Their “Gourmet Sabzi” & “Kashke Bademjoon” was good and I will order again. Love their homemade fresh bread.
I think it was the best koobideh Ive ever had in US. The atmosphere was friendly and pleasant. The portions are great for a party of two. The finisher was the signature Tiramisu! Definitely recommend it
Toranj is an incredible Persian restaurant. Their hospitality, service, and food are truly exceptional. I recently visited with my student organization, and they took such great care of us with thoughtful service and generous accommodations. Highly recommend!
The Juicy Chicken is mouthwatering good! It comes with about five pieces of chicken and it is their signature dish. They have indoor seating and also large patio outside with heating. It was a bit windy. I would loved to taste their other dishes another day. Great Persian food!
Nice and cozy Persian restaurant. The Soltani was great. For more contents follow our instagram @gemislist
I had an amazing experience at this Persian restaurant! The flavors of the food were absolutely outstanding—rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. The kebabs were tender and juicy, and the stews were packed with depth and complexity. You can really tell they use fresh, high-quality ingredients. The presentation of the dishes was also impressive. Each plate was beautifully arranged, almost like a work of art. It made the whole dining experience feel special. The ambiance of the restaurant was warm and inviting, with cozy lighting and traditional Persian décor that created a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. The staff was friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic Persian cuisine
They were busy but I got great service and great food. It got cool and they came right over and lit my overhead heater. Great Persian food. Sit inside or outside.
Absolutely 5 stars, and honestly, they deserve more than that!! I’ve traveled across North America and tried many Persian restaurants, but nothing has come close to the unforgettable taste we experienced at Toranj in Los Angeles. Every dish brought back the nostalgic flavors of traditional Iranian home cooking, rich, soulful, and perfectly balanced. We ordered Chicken Koobideh, Cherry Rice (Albalo Polo), Beef Koobideh, and Joojeh Kabab. Each dish was absolutely phenomenal, juicy meats, aromatic rice, and presentation that showed real care and craftsmanship. The restaurant itself is beautiful and warm, and the woman who helped us, I believe her name was Maria, was incredibly professional, kind, and welcoming. If there were more than 5 stars, this place would deserve a solid 10. Truly a gem in LA for anyone craving authentic Persian cuisine. Highly, highly recommended.

Had a graduation dinner for 9 people here! Service was amazing. Everyone who came to the dinner loved it and said it was their favorite Persian food in LA. The juicy chicken is extra juicy and the tahdig with khorest is delicious. They have a unique Persian beer you should try!
This is such a gem. The servers were so attentive and everyone worked together to make sure you are taken care of, like a Michelin star restaurant. The food was so beautiful with amazing traditional flavors. The stew was a little dry. The juicy chicken is the best thing ever! Hummus and bread is so tasty! You can feel the love in the cooking. And the price for what you get is unbelievable! Beautiful atmosphere like you are in a family dinning room.
The kebab was incredible — tender, flavorful, and truly authentic Persian taste. The Gheymeh Bademjoon and Fesenjoon were both amazing, rich in flavor and perfectly balanced. The appetizers were one of a kind, full of fresh and traditional Persian touches. The service here is always top-notch — the staff are friendly, welcoming, and make you feel right at home. Every visit is an amazing experience, and I always leave with more than I expected for what I pay. Highly recommend Toranj to anyone looking for real, high-quality Persian food in LA!
Had a really nice experience at Toranj Restaurant. Good food & good service , Maral took great care of us very attentive, warm attitude, and genuinely good service throughout the meal. Sergio was also helping and made sure everything was running smoothly. The team made the whole visit feel easy and welcoming. Would definitely come back.
This is our favorite local Persian restaurant. I always go for the Soltani Nadr it’s absolutely perfect. But lately my wife has been obsessed with their juicy chicken, so I tried it tonight and wow, it did not disappoint. Perfectly marinated, incredibly juicy, and an amazing match with mast-o-moosir. Don’t forget to finish it off with Persian tea. Shout out to Morteza for the warm welcome and outstanding hospitality. Thank you!
I recently dined at Toranj Restaurant, and the food was absolutely outstanding. I ordered the Shish Kabob, and it was genuinely authentic Persian food with original taste and flavor—perfectly prepared and delicious. The service was excellent as well. Farshid, who took care of my table, was very attentive, active, and well-mannered, truly adding to the overall quality of the dining experience. If you’re looking for authentic Persian cuisine with wonderful service, I highly recommend trying Toranj in Westwood. And don’t forget to ask for a cup of tea at the end—it perfectly completes the meal and your overall enjoyment. ☕✨

We loved this place! Had dinner last night for 4 persons- tried kashk bademjam, koobideh, sirin pollo, Shirazi salad, and soupe jour. We were so impressed. We’ve had Persian food in several cities outside France including New York, Washington, D.C., Las Vegas, and Los Angeles. Yours is the best! Thank you for your kind hospitality. We hope we can return.
ABSOLUTE BEST Persian restaurant in the LA area. We were visiting LA for the first time and were really looking forward to trying authentic Persian food that we’d heard could only be found there. Unfortunately, we were disappointed day after day after trying several other “well-known” Persian restaurants—until we accidentally found Toranj. The food was amazing and incredibly delicious, but it didn’t stop there. The staff and service were exceptional, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. Sadly, we found them on our last day in LA, but we highly recommend Toranj to anyone looking for great food and outstanding service.

I had a good experience overall at Toranj and would rate it 4 stars. The Esfenaj Borani served with fresh lavash was very tasty and a great starter. The flavors were well balanced and the fresh lavash made it even better. The Ghormeh Sabzi also tasted very good and had a nice traditional flavor. However, the portion of rice was a bit small, and there was not much meat in the stew. The outdoor seating area was very nice and made the dining experience enjoyable. On the other hand, the interior design could be improved to better match the quality of the food. A special thanks to Farshid, who did a great job. He was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service.
I loved this restaurant. The food was perfect. Generous portions, loved the tahdig specially that the stews with tahdig have meat in them unlike other places that serve vegan stews with tahdig. The service was great. The only issue is the interior design: crowded seating situation. I could hardly hear my party with people sitting too close all around us talking very loudly. I personally do NOT like sitting very close to other people in restaurants and this restaurant with awesome perfect food, had that issue. Maybe try sitting outside, weather permitting, to have a more intimate and private experience.
This new-ish Persian restaurant had us excited to try it, but unfortunately, I was really disappointed with the food quality. First impressions were great—the staff were very polite, we were seated right away, and our order was taken promptly. Even the busser was sweet enough to send us home with an extra piece of bread, which was a kind gesture. But I couldn't resist ordering my favorite comfort dish, Lubia Polo, and I have to say—it was very, very bad. There were no green beans, and the whole dish felt like an afterthought. Honestly, either do it right or don’t put it on the menu at all. My friend ordered the juicy chicken with zereshk polo, which was much better—both the kebab and the rice were flavorful and well-prepared. I also got kubideh alongside my lubia polo, but it was dry and lacked that juicy, fresh-off-the-grill taste. We ordered tahdig with ghormeh sabzi and gheymeh on the side. The stews were good, but the tahdig was so thick and hard, I genuinely thought I might crack a tooth. The interior is lovely—classy and modern with beautiful finishes—but unfortunately, the food just didn’t live up to the setting. I won’t be going back.

I have not been here in quite some time, and unfortunately this visit was very disappointing. The restaurant was almost completely empty — I would estimate at least 90% of the tables were open — yet when I asked for a table, the host stood staring at the screen for what felt like three or four minutes before seating us. It was not even close to the dinner rush, so the delay was confusing. After being seated, the overall service felt cold and unfriendly. The waiter seemed distant, and the hosts also came across as rude. I tried to stay polite and friendly the entire time, but the atmosphere felt uncomfortable. The food itself was mediocre at best. I also asked about ordering a small side salad or a half-and-half side option, and was told the upcharge would be $7 for a small dinner salad, which seemed excessive and did not make much sense. Given the recent issues the restaurant has reportedly had involving antisemitic concerns, the overall experience left me wondering whether that played any role in the treatment I received. I truly hope that is not the case, but the entire interaction felt unwelcoming. Overall, the food was average, the service was poor, and the prices were quite high for what was offered. Unfortunately, I would not return.
This was our first visit to Toranj and it was disappointing. 2 couples-we ordered lamb , chicken, , 2 different kinds of rice , soup, salad and appetizer and drinks. Persian food is normally our favorite when we go out. The atmosphere was really nice , there was live music, good energy in the restaurant. But the food was just not flavorful- even the Pita style bread that was set on the table wasn’t good. Portion sizes were fine. Nothing special about the service. Also , there is a very small parking lot and very limited parking in the neighborhood.
I ordered the beef barg kebab, but it was not well done, so I couldn’t eat it. The taste was unpleasant. It smelled like plain beef and lacked the Persian spices I expected. They gave me another Kobideh kabab and one tomato, But the tomato was completely cold. I didn’t like it at all.
This was hands down one of the worst kabobs I’ve ever had. The meat came out dry on the outside but raw and mushy inside — not in a “juicy” way, in a “this shouldn’t be served” way. It had no seasoning, no flavor, and honestly felt careless. For a Persian restaurant, this is embarrassing. Even the rice couldn’t save it. I left disappointed and still hungry.
