Not only place is beautifully designed but the stuff is always approaching with a beautiful smile . Great team 😊
Came here to celebrate Valentine’s Day with my wife. The pictures of the place do not give it justice. The place has really a great vibe to it, music and a pleasant atmosphere to it. Love the light bulbs on the tables. They had a fixed menu that we paid before, arrived and we were seated right away. Wife ordered a passion fruit martini and I ordered an old fashioned, both were good. The appetizers were a humus and red pepper feta with focaccia that was delicious, deep fried artichokes with a tangy sauce and a salmon tartare with avocado. For the entrees my wife got steak frites with a chimnichurri sauce, she asked medium well but it came medium (my preference), it was tasty but not what she asked. I ordered the sea bass that was on a carrot purée, brusseel sprouts, cooked delicately with some spice to it. Dessert were a strawberry and shortbread pieces and the other was a chocolate mousse. Would come back again.
Being overwhelmed by a menu is the only kind of overwhelm I actually enjoy, and this place delivered. There were so many incredible options it was hard to choose, made even better by our waiter Ryan, who was incredibly sweet, informative, patient, and and generally lovely. The ratatouille was outstanding (and surprisingly generous for a side), served with perfectly buttered, toasted bread. My friend’s steak frites was cooked perfectly, and both the chimichurri and pepper sauce were spot on. Sadly, I wasn’t hungry enough to order more, but I’ll absolutely be back. Thanks again Ryan! :)
Delicious food. My favs are zucchini pizza and salmon tartine - must try! If you like olives, order too, you'll be surprised with how great they are here. Honestly, every dish I've ever ordered here was great. And the quality is consistently hight throughout the years. Good selection of wine and cocktails as well. Recommend, recommend, recommend!
We were going to a concert at the United Theater and had intended to Uber down to another restaurant about 6 blocks away. We thought, why would do that when we could just eat here. We are so glad we did. The food was perfectly perfect, every bite better than the next. We had a bottle of wine, shimp appetizer, short ribs and banzino whole white fish. Worth every penny our server Sarah was super sweet and very attentive. Will be coming back for more.
What a cool spot with a cool vibe! I came in just to have their baklava coffee, which is so good and ended up getting a few appetizers for happy hour. Three appetizer items for $22 for happy hour, can’t beat that. Also, I treated myself to a freshly squeezed juice called the sunrise. There are people coming in after work, just having a drink, meeting up with friends, there were some business meetings, everyone was there! Their servers were really awesome, and they were on top of it. My cup never ran low water because the servers were refilling my cup every time they walked by. The french fries were really yummy, the chicken wings were delicious and the deviled eggs were one of my favorites. There’s a parking lot right next to the Restaurant for $15 for the entire day and that made it really easy to get to the restaurant. If possible, call to make reservations to save yourself a seat because this place gets busy.
I absolutely loved the vibe at this Zinqué location! Even though I was right in the heart of downtown LA, surrounded by towering buildings, the moment I stepped inside, I felt like I had been transported to a modern, cozy bistro tucked away in the suburbs. The ambiance is effortlessly chic, yet inviting—a perfect escape from the city’s energy. I arrived about an hour before closing, but you’d never know it based on the service. My waitress was fantastic—warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. She gave me spot-on wine recommendations to pair with my meal and even shared some great local nightlife tips for after dinner. That kind of personalized touch makes all the difference! The food was outstanding, as always. I stuck with my go-to: steak & frites, and it was perfect. The steak was cooked exactly how I like it, and the fries were crispy, golden, and addictive. I paired it with a glass of red wine (I wish I remembered the name!) that complemented the meal beautifully. What truly made this visit extra special was getting to chat with the owners. The husband is French, his wife is American, and they are the nicest people! I even got to practice my French with them, which made the experience even more memorable. You can tell they’ve poured their passion into this place, and it absolutely shows. Overall, Zinqué is a must-visit in downtown LA. The food, the ambiance, the service, and the wonderful people behind it all make this place something truly special. I’ll definitely be back!
We had plans to see a show at the United Theatre next door, so we made 5pm reservations ahead of our 7pm show. This was such an enjoyable evening, and our experience at Zinque was a large part of the nights success. The restaurant is literally next door to the theatre, so we were able to linger over dinner until just before the show. Proximity 10/10. We parked on the corner of Hill and 9th for $12. We had a party of 5, and made reservations. We were seated immediately at a great table. My only complaint was the low lighting - the menu was hard to read. We started with a bottle of wine - a rose (first one listed). It was delicious. First course was fried artichokes, shrimp and blistered green beans. All were delicious, but the general consensus was the artichokes were the best. I really loved the bright flavor of the shrimp. For the main course, my husband and I split the steak and fries (it had a fancier French name). Our excellent server recommended the chimichurri sauce which I proceeded to pour on everything. It was fantastic. The fry sauce was also spicy and tangy. I liked this dish more than my husband, but he said the streak was great without the sauce. He would order again. I would definitely order again! My friend and her sister shared the Coq a vin and it was savory and chock full of vegetables. Everyone tried it and agreed it was fabulous. Our other dear friend had the grilled salmon over a rice concoction and he said it was excellent. The flavors were well balanced and interesting. We ordered the broccolini as well and it was perfectly cooked. If you are keen on broccoli it’s worth ordering! Finally, for dessert we ordered the berry crumble, apple tart and cookie. We also loved them in that order. Everything was devoured. Our waiter was amazing, I wish I could recall her name. She had wonderful recommendations and was attentive.
Very nice place with good menu, though... We don’t eat spicy food and we ordered salmon plate which was good (there was an option to put spicy sauce on the side instead of having it in the dish). The other thing we ordered was a grilled chicken sandwich which was extremely spicy despite the listed ingredients that didn’t have anything spicy in it. Sriracha sauce was on the side as well so it wasn’t the reason. By the end I found that the sandwich had jalapeños mixed into coleslaw which wasn’t mentioned in the ingredients… for people who cant eat spicy food it’s very important. I absolutely hate wasting food and had to eat most of it, but only if the jalapeños were mentioned in the menu, this could be avoided. Some people have sensitive digestive systems and this kind of details absolutely have to be mentioned. The desert menu is good. Chocolate mouse was great.
Zinqué has a great vibe in the heart of DTLA, with a stylish indoor/outdoor setup that makes it perfect for a casual meal or drinks. The burger and fries I tried were tasty, with the patty cooked well and the bun soft and fresh. The fries were crispy and paired nicely with the dipping sauces. Service was friendly and the overall atmosphere felt relaxed yet lively.
Overall, the experience was merely okay. The food was decent but nothing particularly memorable, especially considering the price point. Most dishes felt average for what was charged. The highlight of the meal was the flourless chocolate cake, which was quite good and stood out from the rest. Aside from dessert, the experience didn’t offer much value for the cost.
I ordered the happy hour pizza and firat they served it barely heated. It tasted like it was sitting in the heat lamp for a while. When I asked the server to send me new ones freshly prepared they brought back THE SAME pizza bites!!!! All they did was heat them up again how gross!!!!! FIRST OFF THATS A HUGE HEALTH CODE VIOLATION!!!!! Im done coming here what a LAZY KITCHEN.
We came here a few weeks before Christmas and were happy to get a last minute reservation on a Saturday night. It's a nice place and the food is good. We ordered a bottle of St Emelion. I was talking with my daughter and wasn't paying attention when the server poured the wine . Then after drinking about half a glass I thought the wine is ok but not as good as I expected. I looked at the bottle and it wasn't the wine I ordered. I told the server and he replied it was the only St Emelion they had. He didn't seem concerned that I wasn't happy just offered to send a manager. The manager looked perturbed that I was complaining and when I told him it wasn't St Emelion at all but was St Emelion Montagne(a completely different appellation) he insisted it was a true St Emelion and said he could take it off the bill if I didn't like it. I said please do and he snatched the bottle off the table but let me know he would charge me for the 3 glasses already poured. More than this he came back to the table several minutes later(further interupting my time with my daughter) to try telling me the bottle was in fact the one I ordered. I held the menu up next to the bottle and said show me this name on this bottle. He could only say "ok, I'm confused" and walked away. Too bad, for a disinterested server and a manager victimized by the Peter principal. I made contact through the website the next day and they did refund the 3 glasses of wine.
