So delicious! I think I'd eat here all the time if I lived in Texas. The steak was so perfectly cooked that I didn't need any sauce. The fried onions were a perfect pairing. Even the salad tasted good. I'll be visiting again sometime.

Visiting Lubbock for family weekend and celebrating our daughter’s acceptance into medical school. Saltgrass went above and beyond our expectations. Without a doubt the best dinning experience we’ve had. A special thanks to manager Julio, JC and our waiter Jaylen and all the staff for the congrats card (signed by everyone). Great atmosphere, the place had character on the inside. The steak was done to my request and it tasted wonderful. The sweet potato fries were great. Mackenzie (Mendez) was incredible. We ordered one of our steaks “Blue” and she made sure the kitchen knew exactly how we wanted it. I also had an almost medical emergency, my blood sugar was unexpectedly dropping quickly, and Mackenzie dropped everything to get a sugary drink to help fix that, which we happily paid for. I came for my daughter’s birthday dinner, and it was wonderful! The staff greeted us super nicely, and I believe the manager’s name was Julio. He was very open with us about the wait, and we got seated within about 10 minutes! This was my family’s first time here, and they have a lot of different food to choose from. We were overwhelmed *in a good way*. The manager kept coming around asking if everything was okay. I asked for a food recommendation for our first time, and he was so pleasant about it and gave me a good recommendation! The vaquero tacos were yum! The overall experience, from the food to the people, especially the waiter who was also very patient, the manager, and the atmosphere, was a 10/10! We will come back!

We went back today and it was like a new restaurant. Our waitress Madalyn was wonderful. She took very good care of us. We both had the sirloin tips with garlic mash and green beans. The green beans were awesome, sweet with a great salt seasoning. The tips were outstanding with the mushrooms and gravy on the garlic mash. Service was excellent. Beers were ICE-cold.

Excellent service provided by our waiter. Very good experience, my steak was over seasoned; however, this is their food profile. Large portions of appetizers, Caesar salad was huge, fresh, and delicious. No complaints on our experience. Definitely would return to this location.

Went here around 6pm on a Friday with a party of 6. We were sat right away and our waiter Cane was very friendly and professional. I ordered the Texas T-bone. Overall it was cooked really well. The asparagus was also cooked great with awesome seasoning. Everyone in the party enjoyed the food and waiter. We will definitely come back.

The ribeye steak was cooked to perfection, wife’s Patty Melt was delicious and grandsons Steak Tips were perfect. Slight issue with Mac n cheese cold, but Keaton our server made it right quick. Keaton was an excellent server, I advise asking for him. I hadn’t eaten at Saltgrass for 8 years because of a horrible tough ribeye I got in Midland and the night manger said “you ordered a ribeye what did you expect “ I ordered the bone in ribeye and couldn’t cut it with a knife. I decided to give the company another try. As a customer who ate once or twice a week in Dallas it was very disappointing. Glad I decided to try again.

Out favorites steakhouse in Lubbock. Best fried mushrooms anywhere! We don't typically get an appetizer but we HAVE to have these mushrooms! The Maureen's filet Msdium-rare is melt in your mouth tender and flavorful. Love the brussel sprouts too. Great staff.

She was incredibly friendly, informative, and demonstrated outstanding professionalism. We noticed she was training a new server who was shadowing her, and her patience and kindness were exemplary. It was clear she was fostering a supportive learning environment. ​Beyond her helpfulness, Brittany was meticulously well-groomed and neat. As a fellow woman, I appreciated her professional presentation—her hair, make-up, and nails were all executed on a high, professional level. ​As for the food, our mushroom appetizer was absolutely delicious, and the fresh iced tea was crisp and refreshing. ​Overall, Saltgrass is a great restaurant. We just got back from an amazing Thanksgiving dinner! It was above and beyond our expectations Our server, Nadia, was the best! Not stressed, efficient, kept our drinks filled and took time to interact with us. The manager, Julio, was very nice and clearly has that restaurant running smoothly. Kudos to the chef and kitchen staff for their cooking and for keeping the kitchen running efficiently under the holiday time! I left my phone at the table, we went in and Julio already had the phone and quickly returned it to me. The food! The salads were excellent especially the strawberry /spinach! We had the option of soup or salad. Oh my gosh the holiday dinner of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, green bean casserole and cranberry were amazing. The turkey was perfectly cooked! Moist, tender and generous slices. They offered food from their regular menu which was quite a surprise as well The people next to us had the prime rib which looked perfect cooked. Pricing was excellent Under $25 for each dinner. The spinach/strawberry salad was extra but the regular dinner salad was included in the meal

It got very busy while we were there (we were seated before the rush) and it was still a very comfortable noise level. The bill was $132 (before tip) for 2 large draft beers, 2 grand marnier, 2 prime rib dinners, and fried onions as appetizer. Salad and bread also. Reasonably priced. The atmosphere and ability to get the entire order correct and timely was well worth it!

Place is kind of small but they have good food and good servers.

For the price I feel it's OK. I got their porterhouse for $40 and asked for it medium rare and it came closer to medium well in most places with a bit of charcoal either the cook was having a bad day or doesn't have enough experience. But other than that the staff was great and all the sides were quite good.

The wine I was going to order was out, not a big ordeal, they had a backup. A nice well rounded malbec, nothing too fancy but a good just in case back up. Pricing is great for a 9oz pour and the set up it very nice. Overall great experience. Only 1 downside, the smell, fix that and you deserve the 5 stars. When in the restaurant business, taste, sight, smell and feel are king. Bar area needs a deep clean, suppose its the dishwasher for the cups. But besides that the smell isn't too off putting, the aroma of the food trickles in to tantalize the taste buds. Overall recommend to give a try.

Getting to splurge on steak, here, for the first time was really nice. The 'Surf & Turf' I had the first time around left me filled up and feeling dignified. The second time around, I had the chicken fried steak and mac & cheese. The mac was super good though the chicken fried steak was a bit bland without the gravy backing it up. However, the real reason I kept coming back was the carrot cake. Though it was $9, it was BIG. The female bartenders that took care of me were also very nice. Just try not to come when it's slammed. It wasn't fun and it drove up the wait time...

Our waitress was amazing and very attentive. My husband got a steak which he said was cooked to perfection. I got the Salmon Oscar. The crab meat on top was cold like it had been refrigerated which was very off putting. Once I took the crab meat off the salmon was fabulous. There were also no capers as listed on the menu. I would go back but try something else.

I enjoy most all the food here. I especially love their Cobb salad (Hill country salad). It's a BIG salad and it's very filling with out them skimping on the protein. The onion strings are easily my favorite app, and their carrot cake is SO good! It's a massive slice and it's very very fresh! Their grilled pineapple margarita is wonderful! I can't give the food five stars because I cannot get them to nail a rare steak. I've had to send it back every time so I quit ordering it.

No e environment, friendly service. What really impressed me is the 10 hrs slow cooked prime rib, the fat just melt in your mouth and the meat is very tender and yet flavorful. This is a must try if you come here.

Sooooo reviews are amazing but I got a small family meal and ehhhhh wasn’t tooo hot at allllll the Mac and cheese loooks prettyyyy but ehhh wasn’t to anyone’s liking mash potatoes weren’t good neither more like soupy gravy was thicker than a snicker tenders whereeee beyondddd small was trying to be positive but they were maybe 2 inches long not even trying to be funny if your trying to do a family meal just stay away from the small if it’s 2 or more it was 3 of us and we still had to go out and find another restaurant and I have 2 small children . But the steaks look like there ahit so maybe I ordered the wrong menu item

the environment is so cool! I love the decor and layout it's decently spacious so people don't bump into each other while they're passing through! My soup was delicious. The asparagus was over seasoned and it was salty. I had small chunks (sand like) while I was eating. Shrimp was decent and the steak is also great not too salty where you have to drink 6 cups of water.

I expected my first experience to be GREAT. Food was like any other steak house. For the price it could of been better. Don't get me wrong it was good. Saltgrass steak house personnel was nice. When I went it was not busy at all and took about 40 min to get food.

Service was good food was ok . Asked for well done steak it lacked good flavor and was extremely dry. The queso and the Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were great

Disappointed in this restaurant. I asked if they knew whether the steak served was grass fed or grain finished. The waiter didn't know, but he could tell me it was Angus beef. Called over the manager and he didn't know. This is important as every steak lover knows that grass fed, grass finished beef is the only way to go. Lubbock is surrounded with CFO's (Confined Feed Operations) or better known as feed lots. They put hundreds of cows in a small pen and feed them grain to fatten them up, before slaughter. They get fat but the beef is horribly lacking in nutrition, and taste. We passed on the steak and shared a big salad. You don't go to a steak house to eat salad. At least the salad was good.

In a restaurant at only 20 percent capacity I asked for a table, specifically not a booth. Hostess sat us in an empty area, in a booth with a sloped table. She then told us we couldn't have a table because they didn't have a Server for the tables. Within the next 10 minutes two groups were seated at tables. Terrible survice on seating. Great service on food.. Been eating here for over 5 years

I found my recent visit to Saltgrass Steakhouse to be a mixed experience. The restaurant's atmosphere was nice, and the service was decent, but the food fell short of my expectations. The steak I ordered was good, but not outstanding for the price. While the menu had a variety of options, I didn't find it particularly unique. It's an okay place for a steak, but there are better options out there for a similar price point.

Service started out okay. We went to for dinner Mother’s Day. Server was tired and seemed a little frustrated at first. she started out not very friendly. But as dinner progressed, she was better a lot nicer. We ordered the Wagyu steak for the first time. Not impressed at all. Our steak was med rare very tough, not easy to cut with a knife and fork. Taste was perfect. Will not order this again at Saltgrass. Also got a large baked potato very dry and short on toppings. Also ordered tortilla soup, came out like a liquid broth, i’ve never seen chicken tortilla soup like this before. I will say, I’ve ordered the bone-in ribeye on various occasions, always great. It was a very disappointing meal for our Mother’s Day.

I hate leaving reviews that aren’t positive, but for the first time at a Saltgrass, we didn’t have an elite experience. Let’s start with the positives. First, The food was good. The fried mushrooms were outstanding and the steak was good. The Brussels sprout was excellent. The waiter was very friendly. Now the not good. The food took nearly an hour and the place wasn’t overly busy. The waiter and manager apologized for the wait and took off a good portion of the bill. They handled it as best they could. The kitchen got backed up by some large groups. While it was frustrating to wait, the front of the house were apologetic and went out of their way to make us happy.

Long wait, some of the servers where rude and never smiled. One waitress bumped into while I was sitting and the. Gave me the dirty look. I was, you ran into my chair and me and spilt a little on me. After I got the food… Potato was dry, Shrimp was cold when served, and 1/3 of my Steak was mostly Fat… tried to eat it, but I was done after a bit. Only thing that came out right, is the Cheese Cake… Sorry for the Bad Review… Something You Should Work On.

We waited for sometime and no hostess or waitress had come up to us introducing themselves, or asking what drinks to start us off with. I’ve had restaurants before be really busy, but they still managed to arrive in an efficient manner and be a really great host. Yet, we would’ve waited even longer, had I not pulled someone who seemed busy.

This place isnt all that, the service was bad. We had a waitress name Gabby. She took long in getting our drinks ,then we ordered an appetizer and was never brought to us, after she took our order , she came back 20 minutes later and said they only had prime rib for 2 out of 3 three that ordered it , so my son ordered something else. After that. 15 minutes later some man came to us did not introduce himself and said the prime rib was burnt so we had to order something else, it took long to get our order. I ordered a double vodka tall with topo chico and they charged me 21.50 . We were very disappointed. they only offered us a free dessert. Lol. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE

We spent about $138 on our visit and honestly left pretty disappointed. Two of the sirloins were cooked to the correct temperature, but unfortunately one was very tough and the other was extremely tough—almost impossible to enjoy. Normally we would’ve said something, but it was peak rush hour and we didn’t want to make a fuss or slow things down for the staff. That said, for the price point, we expected much better quality and consistency. We’ve had good experiences here in the past, which is why this was such a letdown. Hoping this was just an off night, but it definitely impacted what should’ve been a nice meal.

I will never eat here again. I was charged $4.99 for about 2 tablespoons of sautéed onions. To be fair, the price was listed in the menu and I should have checked. When I spoke to the manager she insisted it was a reasonable price for a four ounce portion and that was that. The little black cup contained two ounces of onions. Overpriced and the manager was willing to lose a customer over it.

$30 dollar plate look sad. I myself and 2 kids. I got my plate first, got cold waiting on my son's plate. Then messed up on daughter's plate which had to be remade. Waiter says it was her fault she put each plate separately. My fish and son's salmon was dry. My daughter had the best cheese burger. After they brought her this kids mini burgers. I am glad we sent back for bigger burger.

Ordered the kabob. The plate was massive and only 4 pieces of very chewy meat. 2 squares of onion and 3 squares of peppers. Hardly anything to get excited about. Drinks were strong. But I wont be returning again.

Service was slow. Less than half the place was full and it took 45 minutes to get food. Brisket queso was lukewarm to cold. Chicken was hot, mashed potatoes were cold as well. Also dead fly sitting on the counter near booths…. Will not be returning.

Extremely overpriced for what you get. Almost $20 for a Patty Melt that's smaller than a McDouble from McDonald's is certifiably insane. Another almost $20 for the most basic looking salad I've ever seen? The Patty Melt also wasn't even fully cooked, the inside of my patty was still cold which is insane considering it was about 2" in diameter. A patty that small takes about 5 minutes to make sure it isn't cold in the middle. The only good item was the Watermelon Lemonade. Overall? Horrible food, even worse prices. Decent service, fun appearance. 2/10 wouldn't recommend.

Worst service I have ever had. My friends and I (there were 5 of us) waited 50 MINUTES to get our SIMPLE orders! We had a flight to get to and while we still made it on time, it was sure cutting it close. I had a cheeseburger, and the meat was charred but still edible. There was nearly not enough lettuce and too many pickles. The waitress seemed a bit confused on what she was doing and stated there was a shortage of cooks yet only after we asked what was taking so long. The food was still edible but mediocre. We wait 10 minutes for a glass of water for our service animal! DO NOT DINE HERE! Super slow service, lack of communication. Atmosphere was okay. It was quiet, so I can’t complain, but there were so many wait staff just walking around while we waited almost an HOUR for our food?? Why were some of them not helping in the kitchen? The worse service experience in all my life in any Saltgrass place. Dallas, Texas, has WAY better service!

Food did NOT live up to the hype...! DANG IT I should have read the reviews first... French dip (Texas Dip)came with no dip and brussell sprouts were air fried leaves....... I can't make this up! ! ! Manager gave us cocktail sauce for the mozzarella sticks...! Texas dip was stale and dip ( when I finally got the dip) was just water.. Manager Will better comp some of my meal bc I didn't get my side....ever. so we will see. From the beginning, the atmosphere was poor. We sat at the bar waiting for our table and the female bartender never came to us, but chose to go to everyone else. We didn’t know racism existed at Saltgrass in Lubbock, Texas. Then we get sat down and we ordered 12 oz.ribeyes and they were a joke. They looked more like flank steaks and the manager was very unprofessional and didn’t seem too worried about it! We will never return.

Never going back..have been a Salgrass fan before it was available in Lubbock. I'm even a Landry's member. Not only did they not cook steak to our liking (medium) a hair was in the Brussels sprouts. Meal was remade but was charged for the 3rd bone in ribeye.. was told it would be complementary... smh never again.

Husband ordered a 32.00 Ribeye. More like a flank steak. He couldn't even hardly cut in to it . It was disgusting. My chicken Laredo was a 5 out of a 10. Sould have sent it all back. For the price you charge food have been better. Salad was good and tea was good. We will not be back. Learned out lesson.

We placed a pick up order for 5:30pm. This was the ASAP time that self populated at check out. My husband arrived a few minutes early and the hostess went to the back to check. She said they were working on it and that it should be out shortly. 25 minutes later my husband went up to the bartender to add a cup of ranch to the order and he stated that the order should already be out. We live 3 miles (6 minutes) from Saltgrass. When he arrived home the kids meals (hamburger with Mac and cheese and a pizza) and the side of fries weren’t even warm to the touch. The steaks and baked potato were tepid. We ordered medium rare and one of them was blue. The other steak tasted like it had been placed on the grill where the previous item had been burned and it picked up all the burnt residue. I imagine the order was indeed ready shortly after the hostess checked and then it sat there. We assumed by doing pick up at a higher end steakhouse that the quality would reflect such, but we were sorely mistaken. Had the restaurant been busy the wait/miss could have even been understandable, but there were very few patrons (according to my husband) and the quality of the food we received may very well represent why.
