Fast order, quick to you and a relaxing atmosphere. I had the 1/4lb cheddar. With all the trimmings. Fresh, Hot and the bun was soft & huge! Ordered a small fry and it was the size of other burg places large! Fresh cut potatoes and very hot right to your table. Looking forward towards my next visit! 😀

Locals know! Humble beginnings in 1977 on Mulberry to this great location on Blanco. My husband, San Antonio native was so excited that Chris Madrid's thrives. Delicious affordable burgers, fries, bean and cheese nachos and more, full bar, great condiment and drink station. Housemade fresh daily refried beans and pico de gallo. Generous indoor and outdoor with misters seating, small area for a band, plenty of parking. Get a delicious burger!

Absolutely amazing! By far the best burger restaurant in town! Prices may be a little up there, but still a pretty damn good burger! Food: 10/10 The food was absolutely delicious, my burger was freaking FAT and STACKED! Overflowing with flavor, and super juicy! Probably the best burger I’ve ever had! And the shake too was absolutely delicious, it’s definitely up there with Burger Boy shakes (my favorite shakes) Service: 10/10 Great service, just wished I was informed that the burger themselves are $10+, I felt like I was kind of duped when I realized everything was separate BUT ALL IN ALL really great service! Atmosphere: 10/10 Really nice atmosphere, really spacious and not too loud. It gets very busy but that’s because it’s super freaking GOOD! The staff seem friendly and it’s really big, even the outdoor seating it nice! Overall I had a great first experience and will consider going again on another payday!

April 2025 Decided to revisit this restaurant for a hamburger. We arrived on a Sunday about 12 noon. There was a DJ getting ready to play music outside, and the inside was busseling with people. We ordered our food ( a hamburger and a cheese burger) and lucky for us if you ordered 2 hamburgers, you received a medium-sized fries for no charge. We found a table and were seated. Our food arrived within a few minutes (about 10). I quickly put some complimentary pico de gallo that contains serrano pepper ( a little spicy but good ). All was good and delicious. I've add some additional pictures and videos. Hope you decide to visit and enjoy. Jan 2025 Decided to stop by Chris Madrid's with a friend for a burger and fries. We were greeted and advised by Jacob, who was tending bar, we could order outside or go inside and order. We decided to go inside to order, were greeted, and our order was taken. We each ordered the old-fashioned burger. So, nothing fancy, and we ordered a large basket of fries and fountain drinks. We were then given a buzzy to let us know when our food would be ready. It was a nice day, low 60s & sunny, so we decided to sit outside. After about 10 minutes a young man brought us our food. I know it doesn't work this way all the time, because on other occasions, when it's busy, you have to get your "ready" food at the counter. We had already gotten our drinks from the soda fountain inside, napkins, utensils, and for me some picadillo for my burger. Everything was good, the service, the weather, the staff, and the food - burger and fries. I'm definitely going to be returning and will look for to my next visit. I hope that if you decide to visit this place that your experience will be as good as mine.

It's been a long while since I've last visited, but I had good memories from last time. I went on a Saturday afternoon, and while it was busy, Chris Madrid's did not disappoint. The parking lot was almost full, but found an open spot towards the back. The order line was long, but it moved fast. Military discount. Most tables we full, but managed to find one in a minute or two. Inside and outside seating. Drinks are self-service. Food came out in about 7 minutes and was so fresh. The Cheddar Cheesy burgers are fantastic, and I love the fresh cut fries. I'm so glad I came back. It was a fantastic meal. I'll be back!

A great mainstay to San Antonio! I’ve visited this place many times over 20 plus years. The burgers are still some of the best in town. From the basic cheeseburger to the cheddar cheesy and the famous tostada burger, you won’t be disappointed. The full bar is great and the staff come thru quickly to clear your plates and baskets as soon as you finish. The atmosphere is lively and a great place for family and friends to gather and visit. Highly recommend if you visit San Antonio or if you’re local and haven’t been yet! Great job to the staff and team at Chris Madrid’s!

What a great bustling place to get a burger! Burgers were HUGE and messy and delicious. Their fries were just okay to be honest. I still give it 5 stars because they were crowded, boisterous, and fun to eat at. You basically order your food and find a table and you get a buzz and it's time to pickup your food. I like that we saw a lot of families there and people just having a good time. I can see why this place is an institution.

Best burger I've had in a long time. I needed to add salt and pepper but I have to do that almost anywhere I get a burger

First timer! What a cool place to eat at burger. We had to drive a little bit to get here but we wanted to try it out. The burger wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. The server didn't give us the correct order but it wasn't her fault. The system seems a little flawed.

I loved my food as did most of us who had hamburgers. But my husband had what we thought was actually nachos and this was literally just 5 nacho chips with beans and cheese. That was very disappointing. The burgers and fries were good but stay clear of the nachos. We even looked on line to see if we missed something and it does not specify you only receive 5 chips. The staff were okay. It would have been nice if the girl at the counter maybe explained that to us when we told her we had not been there before and that was the only thing my husband ordered for lunch. Quite expensive lunch for 5 chips. The place is very colorful and you can tell well loved. The decor is unique and there are plenty of seating inside and out.

Conveniently located by downtown. Lots of parking on the side of the building. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They also offer a private party room. Outdoors they have misting fans set up to keep you cool. Great service. Food is served as individual items, not as combo meals. Food came out quick.

Decent spot for burgers. They’re big. Fries were good. Cooked just right. Staff was friendly. They also have a salsa bar which is a nice change. Milkshake was thick and delicious.

Decent vibes but that doesn't make up for the slow service and pretty bad food. Took over 40 min to get a burger n fries. Inside was busy, as it was a cold day, but outside pretty sparse. Still thats a long time for a simple order. Food, pretty bad. Cheese Burger ( I made sure I ordered the one without extra cheese) came with gobs of cheese, a lot more cheese than the paper thin burger. It was like I was eating a cheese sandwich with a little slice of meat. And the fries were disgusting. Cooked in really old oil. That old, used oil flavor came thru big time. Texture and doneness fine, but couldn't take the flavor.

Not what we expected after reading the reviews. Food was fast to get ordered and received but it was very greasy and lacking flavor. Couldn’t eat it for the film it left on my hands and in my mouth. Fries were ok but no salt or flavor. The utensils and napkins were out so ended up having to get some from our vehicle. Thankfully we had some due to all the grease. Patio was nice and servers were friendly. Box checked and won’t be going back.

Horrible burger and prices. I SWEAR somebody else will say this but it taste like they served me reheated WHATABURGER. NOTHING fresh or texturally satisfying about this place. Nachos are AWFUL. Sweet tea is mid. Do NOT eat here, I feel bad for Chris Madrid. Whoever carried his legacy needs to shut this place down Edit: i saw the owner wants to offer an refund. Listen this isnt about MONEY, its about what the resturant means, why are we using patties that have no flavor, texture, or grill marks. Why are we smothering nachos in beans to where its soaking up into the nachos. Why dont you use fresh ingredients in your food? Why does it cost 18$ to eat here but the food isnt up to 18$ standards? Why as an OWNER would you try to buy me off as to offering a refund, INSTEAD of fixing your menu and prices? I literally cannot find ONE reason anybody would re-order your nachos, NOT ONE
