Really nice place, found a table even during busy times. Waiters were friendly and quick and we could watch the ham being cut in front of us for the huevos rotos. Also loved the patatas bravas.

La comida está rica, aunque las raciones son escasas para el precio que tienen. La decoración con ambiente marinero es muy bonita. La atención de los camareros fue muy buena, especialmente la del chico de la barra, si bien nos cobraron una copa de vino de más y no hicieron el esfuerzo de devolvernos el dinero así que, con la gran variedad de sitios que hay, no creo que volvamos

Mis 4 estrellas son por el ambiente tan agradable y la buena atención del local! Los tanques de cerveza y la decoración son una pasada. La comida no está mal pero es más de lo mismo que encuentras en cualquier bar de Madrid. Las albóndigas estaban frías y eso no me agrado para nada. Hemos compartido en familia y llegamos ahí por estar dando vuelta por ese barrio.

Bien atendidos. El local es acogedor y bien decorado. Creo que elegimos mal lo que pedimos, Un entrecot que ponía que era de 300gr y pienso que no llegaba a los 200 y no estaba muy tierno. Por lo demás genial

Buen ambiente para tapas y algunas cañas. Fui con unos amigos y La comida estaba espectacular, todo lo que probamos. Al ordenar las tapas llegaban bastante rápidas a tu mesa, todo buena calidad. Entre algunas cosas pedimos tiras de pollo, croquetas de jamón y estaba súper buena. La única pega fué con el camarero que nos atendió, estaba un poco perdido al principio con la variedad de comida y tuvimos que pedir la cuenta 2 veces para pagarla. Todo lo otro genial, recomendado.

La comida es rica y a buen precio para comer tapas, recomiendo los tacos de carne braseada pero las tapas en general cumplen con lo esperado. Cuando fuimos había una mesa grande adelante que estaban a los gritos y el ruido era muy molesto. Sacando eso, buen lugar para comer.

Sitio tipico de Madrid, en la Cava baja, mas centrico imposible. Muy buena decoracion, acogedor y con una atencion excelente para la zona donde esta. La comida muy rica y muy bien de precio... eso si, no tiene cafe. Se nota el toque andaluz de Christian y su padre, el responsable, que son de Jerez. Lo encontre por casualidad y vuelvo seguro.

Me encanta esta taberna, es bastante iluminada, buen ambiente y clase. Los precios están asequibles y la comida rica. Les comparto el menú principal pero no incluye el de tapas. Las croquetas de rabo de toro están excelentes !

Los calamares muy bien cocidos, los champiñones riquísimos (sugerimos añadir sal maldon para potenciar el sabor) las albondigas con su salsa que estaba riquísima. Como detalle decir que fuera sale el precio de las tapas pequeñas y en cambio en la carta del interior solo sale el precio de tapa grande, vigilad al pedirlo. Pero hay que reconocer que la comida estaba exquisita.

Seeing as this was our first trip to Spain and this so happened to be the first restaurant we discovered while walking along Cava Baja, it had high expectations and it did not disappoint! We ordered quite a few items as we wanted to try just about everything on the menu and our eyes ended up being a bit larger than our stomachs.... The portions are entree size so if you are thinking they are tapas size, think again :) We ordered the patatas bravas, calamari, red pepper stuffed with salted cod, an oxtail stew (not the official name unfortunately) and of course two cervezas. I will say that I do regret not getting the jamon (prosciutto) seeing as they have an entire carving station dedicated to the meat and it is displayed to customers, which would have been fun to watch. Anyways, to start, the patatas bravas is a side dish composed of roasted potatoes topped with a spicy red salsa. This is a dish you will find on just about every single restaurant menu you come across in Spain as it is a staple and quite delicious. The salsa has just enough heat, the potatoes are cooked perfectly and it is filling. The calamari was your typical dish that you find anywhere. I will say that we found that, in Spain, the seafood dishes have a much "fishier" taste than we are used to, resulting in a stronger seafood flavor but overall very tasty. The red pepper dish was interesting as it was a flavor we had never had before. The red pepper and sauce added a sweet component to the dish, while the salted cod added that briny component. Overall, I am happy we ordered it to try as a first time but the combination of flavors was not for us. Lastly, the oxtail stew was superb! The sauce was rich, the meat was savory and if you find yourself being a bread lover, like us, grab a piece and soak it into the sauce for a wonderful treat! To summarize, it was a lovely first experience. The food was great, the server was friendly (spoke a little English, enough to communicate with us) and the environment was warm. Definitely stop in for a snack or drinks if you are in the area and make sure to snag a cocktail table next to the window so you can people-watch while you enjoy.

Los Castizos te ofrece una carta amplia y típica de comida española. Puedes pedir cualquier especialidad con garantías de comer un plato con buen producto y bien elaborado. En esta calle hay muchas opciones para comer y es probable que haya lugares mejores por los siguientes detalles a tener en cuenta. El servicio del personal es correcto, pero le falta mucho para llegar a ser un servicio de calidad: comunicación escasa, trato distante y poco entendimiento del estilo de atención que requiere esta zona. Las bebidas no están especialmente frías (cerveza y vino blanco) y a la mitad de la consumición te estás bebiendo una cerveza caliente y un vino templado. Muy meticulosos con las mesas (inferí que no les gusta que vayas con niños/as pequeños). Nada especialmente negativo (tapeamos correctamente a las 20.00h) pero a este lugar le falta claramente un punto de calidad en el servicio y en detalles (que el precio lo justifica). En esta calle de la Cava Baja creo que hay opciones mejores.

This tapas bar is very average and expensive. The service and drinks were acceptable, nothing special. We ordered prawns but they hadn't been deveined, which was disappointing and a bit disgusting. All of this for almost double the price of what other tapas bars were offering, not worth visiting.

From the outside it looks like a really nice place, but the inside is small, the e customer service is not very good, and we wanted to modify one ingredient on a meal and we couldn’t. Also we ordered chips and chicken fingers which were very hard and a good serving, and when we asked for a second serving of that dish the chicken was cooked really different, with larger portions which I find strange.

So we ended up here. The food was average, but we only had tapas. I remember walking around and saw that their paella looked really good. The service was okay, I remember waiting so long for the check. But me personally I don’t think I would come back here. The vibes were good but I felt like it was more of a bar restaurant.

Environment - good energy, good vibes - open air - nicely renovated bar Service - friendly and attentive staff Food - we ordered beers and it was nice and refreshing - the food however was not great - the calamari was good - the Spanish tortilla was so so - the cod fish was horrible (pls do not order it). Wayyyyy too salty

Honestly, the place was disappointing. Inside it smells extremely strong and fishy — to the point where it’s really hard to tolerate. The whole shop feels very dirty, and the hygiene standards are clearly not being kept. As for the toilets… it’s honestly better to use the street. I definitely recommend staying away from this place.

Went there on 7 Nov 25 for dinner. First off, service wasn’t quite there when my partner and I entered the restaurant. Staff did attend to us, but gave a rather cold attitude and did not introduce / suggest any of the dishes to us. Also, we were served plain bread, but they only provided the olive oil and balsamic vinegar to us 10mins later, when we were already halfway through the meal. Food was subpar in our opinion. Portion was definitely HUGE. We ordered the fried cod, and were drowned by its size; it tasted really salty unfortunately, and hence we could barely even eat half of it. We also had the jamon croquettes which were alright but really heavy, so we could barely eat half of it as well. Patatas bravas was okay.

Bar looks good from the outside. Inside it is cosy, but a bit too much lamps for the genuine cosy atmosphere. They are cutting cheese and slicing meet in the middle of the restaurant, which is nice! Our waitress did not help us fast, it was hard to get her attention, and she was not focused on helping the guests. Regarding the food, it is about quantity, not quality. We could not finish the tapas we ordered. Flavor was okay, but not super. When I paid, the bar tender made remarks about not giving enough tips. This is not done! One should earn it, not ask for it, and definitely not give an opinion on the spot. He was clearly not amused when we left. This makes me feel even worse after our visit. All in all it was not what we hoped for. Tips: better service and focus more on the quality of the food and flavors.

Llegamos 3 personas a una mesa donde ya estaban otros 4 amigos más, bebiendo hacía un rato y nosotros al llegar nos hemos pedido 3 bebidas. Al traerlas, hemos pedido unas patatas o algo de picar, pensando que se le había olvidado a la chica traerlo, porque por la zona (y en todos lados, casi) es algo completamente habitual poner una tapa con la bebida. Cuando la pedimos, parecía que la chica que nos atendía nos estaba perdonado la vida, nos miró con mala cara y se fue sin responder. Fue y buscó a otra que vino a decir que no nos iba a traer nada porque es una sola tapa por mesa y solo puede ser al llegar. A pesar que le dijmos que acabábamos de llegar, su respuesta con cara de asco fue que no. Vista su actitud, pedimos la cuenta y nos fuimos en seguida. Vamos, que por un mini plato que representará unos 0,001€, perdieron 7 clientes. Y No es por el plato, es por su pésima atención. Valorad que os sale más a cuenta y rentable, ya que por nuestra parte, que somos asiduos a la Cava Baja, pretendemos NO recomendar este sitio a todo el que nos pregunte, y al que no nos pregunte también. Las dos chicas del domingo 01/02/26 son un NO inmenso por mal educadas y por su mala atención. Recomiendo cualquier otro garito de la misma calle, que te atienden con mucho cariño! ¡Un saludo!

Estuvimos un grupo de amigos. Y nada recomendable. Servicio regular y la atención bastante mala. Lo único bueno el camarero el más simpático y atento,que no sabemos su nombre , rubio que estaba a primera hora de la tarde.

Fuimos a tomar unas cervezas, el.local es bonito pero las cervezas caras, 4 cervezas 16 y pico me parece demasiado.

Very expensive! The food tasted almost nothing and was nothing like the real Spanish tapas you would imagine. I would definitely look for another tapas bar around the corner. We are the tapas, prawns and croquetas. Leave this place before you get ripped of and eat bad food.

Absolutely huge plates labelled 'tapas'. Lead to us to over ordering big time. We left before the final dish even arrived (45mins after we ordered). Lots of fried, pretty nasty food. Service probably as bad as I've seen in Spain. Couldn't have been less welcome. Stunned at the destruction of traditional 'tapas' at this place.

Awful service & terrible overpriced food. We were sat down and forgotten about. We waited an extremely long time to be served and even longer for the food to arrive. The three tapas we ordered arrived so far apart we never got to enjoy them together. We spent most of the evening just waiting. The last dish took so long we asked for the bill early, but they still charged us for it even though we didn’t eat it. On top of that, the food was awful and extremely overpriced compared to other tapas places. Don’t waste your time or money here. AWFUL!!!!

The service was awful! We waited far too long between dishes and the staff were extremely rude and dismissive. The staff prioritized other tables that arrived after us and ignored all of our attempts to get their attention.The food was terribly greasy, tasted awful & extremely overpriced. Don’t listen to the positive reviews on here - the negative ones are much more realistic of what you should expect. If you do eat here, lower your expectations thoroughly to avoid disappointment. DISGUSTING SERVICE.

There are too many great spots in Madrid (many of which only steps away) to waste your time at this overpriced and poor service establishment. I typically look at reviews before popping into places but followed the crowd on this one (tourists only). Service was unprofessional and the red wine was short poured to an unbelievable extent (pictured). Save yourself the time, money and energy and find somewhere else!
