Our server was the sweetest! The food is delicious, and nearly the entire menu can be gluten free. THEY MAKE HOMEMADE GLUTEN FREE BREAD. It is amazing- you must get it. You’d never know it was gluten free. The dishes that stood out were the beef in red curry (forgot to take pic of this), but it was so tender and flavorful, and the fish balls were great.
A very pleasant atmosphere, a small but cozy little place, and we were really lucky to walk in and get a table! It was fascinating to see the bartender come right to our table and make the cocktail in front of us. Honestly, it’s worth coming back for the cocktails alone! The prices were very reasonable, and the complimentary tapas served with the drinks were incredibly tasty. A lovely spot overall — highly recommend!
Delicious vermouth! Their food was awesome. Their prices were just right especially considering how delicious everything tasted. The staff were friendly and out on a great show while making drinks. The service was fast even with the place being packed. The establishment was dog friendly inside. Overall definitely come first the drinks but stay for the chill atmosphere and delicious food.
Very popular, packed, hopping place when we went there on a Sunday night. We waited for about 20 minutes and were fortunate to get a table on the main floor, where all the action was. The Vermouth cocktail was very nice as was the Sangria. The 2 tapas we had were outstanding - the Fish Balls in Thai Green Sauce and the Shrimp toast. The food did take over 30 minutes to arrive - probably because the place was so packed & the kitchen must be really small. Or maybe they forgot about our order till we asked about it. 😊. Regardless the super friendly service, fantastic food, and high energy, authentically local ambience, more than made up for it. Highly, highly recommend!
This was one of our favourite places in Madrid - unsurprisingly, a lot of locals go and it can get busy, but it's worth the wait: the vermut is phenomenal. The atmosphere is fun as well and the food is great. Once you've had one you're embraced like a local. I'd go back in a heartbeat (and we bought a bottle of the house vermut to bring back with us as well!).
Loved this bar, we made it in when it was reasonably quiet however as it is such a small place I am sure it gets crazy busy in the evenings and weekends. They make their own brand of vermouth so it would have been rude not to try it! Amazing, they make a very simple cocktail called a Manuela, it is so simple but really showcases the vermouth. I challenge you to stop at one. We did not eat but the tapas was going down well with others. A wonderful little bar and a great place to start a crawl down Cava Baja.
If you’re looking for an authentic vermouth experience, this is the place to go. It’s an old, charming bar that serves homemade vermouth in a unique and memorable way. The flavor is excellent, and the whole experience is definitely worth it. It can get quite busy, so it’s a good idea to plan ahead.
I love this place. As someone who can’t eat gluten, I was so happy to see a separate gluten-free menu, and the tapas were delicious. I had the cod on toast and the anchovies on pesto. It is a small place so it’s a bit of a squeeze, but it has a lively atmosphere and the busy staff are friendly. My husband was able to order his own tapas from the main gluten menu so it was able to cater for both of us. Try their vermouth cocktail. Highly recommend.
It's small and it's popular - just walk by any evening and see the hopeful patrons waiting outside! Some wait for an hour. We learned that booking a table is a better option. The atmosphere is amazing but be prepared for a loud, crowded experience as it is so small. There were only three guys working and they were constantly busy. Having said that, when we ordered tapas or drinks they were able to get it served efficiently. And the food was very good, as is their vermut, although served in a martini glass in smaller servings than some other restaurants. They sell their vermut by the bottle for 12€, so we had to get one! Note that the tapas menu that you can read online is priced higher in the restaurant by 0.50-1€ (late September 2025).
We just had an unforgettable tapas experience in Madrid! From the melt-in-your-mouth foie gras toast to the rich and hearty pork cheeks stew, the delicate prawn carpaccio, perfectly cured beef slices, and their one-of-a-kind specialty cocktails — every bite and sip was a treat. 🥂 another bonus was the staff made us feel so welcome 🙏 Truly a must-visit spot in Madrid! 🇪🇸🍴
First of all, the guys that are running this place are very polite and with a great mood. The tapas are top quality. The environment is cozy and great to have an easy going chat with great music at the background. The best of all is the vermut... if y r visiting madrid, plan a stop here
Seriously was our favorite place to eat gluten free tapas. They were amazing. They do get busy but wait until they can help you and you can get seated. Promise it's worth it. Their house vermouth is amazing. We bought 2 bottles by bring home with us. They offer both gluten free and regular, make sure you specify. And ask when they bring it to you that it is gluten free, especially when they are busy. On one visit our order didn't come out gluten free so we needed to leave pretty soon since since bites were had, but they were busy and the server felt bad. Still go, just follow up with your order. Such delicious dishes.

Went to try the vermouth on the recommendation of James Blick. Fabulous!! Had two each and decided we had better eat something. The prawns on toast and the salmon on toast were amazing. This was …
We were seated downstairs, which was noticeably less appealing than the upstairs area. Our table was wobbly, and switching tables didn’t help. The bathroom door looked dirty, and the downstairs space overall felt unkempt. Service was very slow; the waiter was clearly working hard, running up and down the stairs, but simply couldn’t keep up. That said, the food was tasty, especially the fish balls. We ended up ordering two. Main dish portions were on the small side though. If we had been seated upstairs, the experience might have been much better.
Great vermut. It is made there and it’s a process which I’ve not seen much of it Madrid to be honest. The flavor profile is more sweet than bitter. Other than the iceberg they put inside the drink, everything was very good. The place isn’t very big so can get packed, but this is typical culturally, but be prepared. I had the mushroom tapa given with the vermut and it was good. I would like to return to try their food and to have more of the tasty vermuts. 😄
We came here based on a recommendation. While we weren't exactly blown away, we also weren't disappointed. It's a pleasant, relaxed spot with a cozy atmosphere and an older waiter who was very friendly and welcoming, which added a nice touch to the experience. We tried a few things: tapas with ham (fairly average), chicken with pasta, and meatballs – the meatballs were definitely the highlight, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. We had both red and white wine – both decent, nothing extraordinary, but enjoyable. We also tried their homemade vermouth, which was a pleasant surprise and worth ordering. Overall, the place is casual, not expensive, and a good choice if you're in the mood for a light meal or to share a few small plates with friends. It’s not a must-visit, but it’s a solid option for a laid-back evening with decent food and drinks.
La Taberna de La Concha is located in the neighborhood of La Latina and famous for its Vermouth. We decided to go on seeing you tube videos and must admit we did enjoy. Very busy place on Calle Baja …
just popped in for drinks but stayed longer than we thought. nice staff, great wine and a good afternoon vibes here. would recommend

We order 3 tapas and squid with rice. Everything was delicious especially the tapas. It is definitely worth trying. We didn't try the vermouth so we don't have any opinion.
Sat upstairs here for a drink and tapas. It is open all day which is very handy. The tosta de gambas is delicious and they have great vermouth, beers and wine. Staff were very friendly and it is …
Only had drinks. Food might be good. I don’t know since they have failed to respond to two emails asking to make reservations. Not a good business practice.
Third time we've been here and this time it was horrible. I urge you not to give such nasty people your business. There are plenty of places to get good vermut in Madrid (we subsequently had deliciou…
