Bruxie is not necessarily a hole in the wall, but it’s an underrated gem for sure! All the food was delicious, the coffee - some of the best I’ve had in recent memory & brought to us by the kind & warm woman at the till. The atmosphere is chill and the wait was nonexistent (granted we sat down at 3:30pm). If you’re looking for some mean burgers at a reasonable price, definitely pay a visit :)
This place is very interesting, if you like fried chicken or chicken that is super high quality I highly recommend this place, it is fantastic! Slightly pricey but you get what you pay for. It seems to be family ran and the staff is extremely nice. They offered my puppy a pup cup without question and were just happy to have me eating there. Seems to be the spot to go for a solid piece of chicken!
This should be harder for me to say... but I think I just had the best chicken sandwich of my life. And I've had a lot. Thank you Bruxie. This establishment embodies all things American and showcases the beauty that's within the state of California. Y'all brought back the taste of freedom that has slowly diminished in society through mediocre food places, and I am so happy to have had this sandwich today.
We had an excellent family lunch. The fried chicken is fantastic, the best we've tried in the area. Additionally, the girls who serve are very friendly. They gave us a balloon for the child, which made him very happy. The prices are reasonable. Without a doubt, we will return.
THE BEST chicken and waffles I've had. The original chicken and waffle sandwich is the bomb...and that hot honey makes it pop!! My new favorite thing to eat!!
Good breakfast options, tenders are pretty good too. Cold brew is also pretty tasty
This place has such good friend chicken and it is filling and and delicious and it's always clean.
The grilled chicken salad was amazing!

I love this place! Holy Chicken! It's always good.
Food is good. Nice atmosphere esp being in the shopping center. It’s a bit pricey but it’s Santa Barbara so it’s expected. The chicken is fried to almost perfection. I would call this elevated chicken and waffles unlike the famous one in LA that’s taste like it’s homemade and everyone loves it. All and all I would come back. PARKING can be a bit of an issue if you don’t use the parking garage
Bomb tenders for a bomb price. 10 for 29 bucks. The salads are entirely coated in dressing. Get dressing on the side, or don't get their salads at all. Buffalo Mac and cheese is also super sauced up. Y'all gotta chill out on the dressing/sauces. Would be a 10/10 that way.
This place has some good brunch items & would definitely come back to eat here again😁 The only reason for the 4/5 star rating is because I think the prices are a little too high but other than that everything we got tasted great:)

We went here for chicken and waffles on Valentines Day (our traditional Valentines Day meal). The chicken was juicy and crisp, and the waffles had a really nice texture. Our only complaint was that the plastic forks did not hold up to cutting the chicken. Our toddler also got a chicken nuggets kids meal with fries, the fries were good although maybe a little peppery for a toddler. The kid coloring pages were a nice touch for a fast food place.

Hot honey chicken sandwich was pretty good but have had better. Fries were not great, must have been over cooked or something cuz they were really hard not just crispy. Pumpkin coffee was ok. Little pricier than I was expecting
Chicken is good quality and fresh but the seasoning needs so much work. I got the original seasoning to give this place a true test. The sheer amount of salt over powers any other flavor that might be there. There are much better options for fried chicken. Also $4 for just a chicken strip is a little pricy but honestly not terrible if they fix the seasoning.
The fries were obviously refried so they were rock hard… the waiter said yeah it’s crispy that is how we make it. I have been here many times and it was not rock hard before
My sister and I came here for breakfast. The place was empty when we ate there. We both had the bacon breakfast burrito, coffee and my sister had Coca Cola for her beverage. The burrito was good. It had a nice flavor to it. However my coffee was like water that when I put the half and half it was like drinking milk. I showed the server and all he said was it was freshly brewed. I already have a headache that morning that I just didn’t feel like saying anything more. I gave 4 on food cause the burrito was really tasty. But you want to have coffee with your breakfast I would suggest that you buy it somewhere before going there.

To my fellow black people do not be fooled just because it's a combination of chicken and waffles this is NOT soul food. The chicken was actually really good, juicy, well seasoned and flavorful but the waffle was so sad. I love waffles but everything I love about them the bruxie waffle lacked. It was savory and flaky. It tasted like a plain bland biscuit in the shape of a waffle. It didn't come with butter or syrup just coleslaw. Was not what I was expecting. If you want soul food chicken and waffles, it's roscoes for me.

Disappointing experience and I would not come back or recommend going. The food was good, I enjoyed the chicken and the waffle was acceptable. The service and atmosphere however are really lacking. No one came to help us, and we were only given one menu for a group of 5 and had to ask for more menus. When the guy came to take our order, he couldn't remember anything we said and asked repeatedly about combos and sauces. I do get it, it's a new place and it was obvious it was his first serving job and they're all new there- I expect it to get better with time. After ordering, we were asked to pay and tip immediately after which I thought was strange. I assume the general expectation is that it's not really a dining sit down experience? The waitress (or free worker) called out our name and gave us half the food, none of our drinks, and no maple syrup with our waffles. We asked about drinks, and she gave us 3 (out of 5) cups and we had to come back to the counter for the other two. after waiting for syrup we asked again and she was visibly annoyed that we had asked and said they were coming. While she was there, we also asked about ranch and forks, which they also did not bring. After hearing that, she sighed and asked in a blatantly annoyed tone, "is there anything else?" we said no thank you. She then dropped off the ranch, forks, and syrups without saying a word and hurrying off. I get it if they are busy, but unless there's tons of Uber eats orders in the background, it was us and three other parties in the restaurant- so I don't understand her impatient and annoyed attitude at what I assume is a reasonable request. I could be mistaken though, or again it could be that the expectation is that it's a casual food place or you're meant to take it to go, and we had the wrong idea about sitting down and getting service. Finally, the music was too loud but that is a personal preference so I don't hold it against them. Overall, if you're coming by for a to-go box of chicken or sitting down for a quick snack while shopping downtown, then I would recommend it more than if you want to sit down and have lunch. Every other eatery in Paseo Nuevo has better service. I do understand they're new, both our servers were young, and maybe she was feeling overwhelmed or tired. I don't really think our experience is what most people will have, but if you are coming in for lunch, sitting down, and tend to ask for forks, sauces, or cups, maybe take it elsewhere.

I definitely don’t recommend this place to anyone. First of all their food is completely mediocre. & they are charging gourmet prices. Second there is a girl who works there who is absolutely miserable you can definitely tell. Find another job if you don’t like working there sweetheart. Just go ahead and spend your money else where they are not the only food on/near state.
Overpriced chicken for an underwhelming experience. First and foremost the staff is friendly the place is clean. Food wise it's extremely disappointing for it's high prices. 20+ dollars for a chicken sandwich fries and a drink. Not to mention the fries were somehow bland for how seasoned they look, most likely because they're old. The Nashville sandwich is standard a little dry nothing really seperating it from a generic sandwich. The ranch which costed 50 cents was very water and tasted odd, not my preferred type of ranch. The loaded fries... I'm betting money they microwaved it as for the cheese wasn't properly melted and parts of it were cold, it was all flash no taste, the sauces on the loaded fries were scientifically made to have no flavor. I'd have some understanding if the place was busy but at the time there was no one in the restaurant. 62 dollars for 4 items mind you, I don't recommend eating here if you want a good spicy chicken sandwich better off sticking with chick fila or driving to a popeyes
Review on Bruxies chicken and waffles: The wait was long,$$$ and when the food arrived, the waffle was raw. I sent it back, but my order was put at the end of the line. By the time my food came, my husband had finished his meal, and the second waffle was also undercooked. Since they are new to town, they need to improve their kitchen operations. On the bright side, you can bring in beer from the neighboring store.
