So wonderful beefy burger. Wonderful chicken clearly well thought through accompaniments except the world's cheapest roadside 'diner' (towed behind a pickup when non static)ketchup. Cocktails and food both clearly made with talent and thought. Thoroughly recommended. Luke is awesome.
I booked Afternoon Tea for 9 people on Saturday, to celebrate a Birthday. It was my first visit to Rosylee and first impressions were how lovely the decor is, it's very light and spacious and has a great vibe to it. Once seated, we all ordered cocktails which arrived promptly, looked gorgeous and were delicious even the mocktails looked fab. Our server was extremely attentive throughout our visit, nothing was too much trouble for her. She explained in detail what was included in the afternoon tea, which was presented beautifully and was delicious and at no point did we feel rushed, we were left to enjoy our drinks and chat. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend.
Fabulous place, great service with very accommodating friendly staff. Excellent value for money and very tasty food. Highly recommend this place. Totally delicious!
Great place Sunday Dinner. Food perfect and a great vibe. Harry's service well worth his tip.
Lovely food, friendly staff. Pleasant decor and nice spacious outdoor seating area.
Met on a wet Sunday lunchtime with 6 of my FaceBook friends, some I'd never met before and we spent the afternoon in Rosylee's chatting drinking Rose wine (as we couldn't decide on Red or White!) and eating the absolutely gorgeous food, I had the Cheesey Balls, Sunday Lunch and Lemon Posset. enjoyed the lot! The menu was varied but Sunday lunch was what I fancied and I'm so glad I chose it, the vegetables were delicious and it was all presented beautifully. The atmosphere was very chilled and we didn't feel like we were hurried, it was just perfect for our situation, and the staff were fantastic too, didn't catch the waiters name but he has Blue hair, so shouldn't be too difficult to work out who he was...He was superb and looked after our every need!...going the extra mile for one of the party! Thank you Rosylee, if I'm ever back in Manchester I'll definitely be back!
I was with Rachael Pollard yesterday afternoon with 5 other friends and I echo totally what she has said. I live in Nottingham but was really worth the journey to dine and spend time at Rosylee's. Excellent food I had the Sunday lunch with mouth watering beef and wonderful veg, and the Eton Mess was to die for. The staff have to be praised, they helped everything run smoothly. We felt so very welcome. Well done to all concerned, compliments to the Chef and a special mention for the waiter with the blue hair(don't know his name). Would definitely visit again.
Great food and friendly service from the whole team. We ordered off the set menu which was incredibly reasonable for what we recieved. Will definitely be back again.
Great food and atmosphere! Happy staff. All together a great night out! Check out their Monday specials!! Worth a visit.
Chic bar in Northern Quarter, love the decor in particular, it strikes a good balance of not being too minimal or over the top luxe. Fairly reasonable and they have decent cocktails as well as food. Although personally I would only go back for drinks as there are better places to eat around the area. But overall nice atmosphere, service is great too!
Great little restaurant that I didn't really know was there. Its interesting and refreshingly styled inside, compared to most 'stripped back' NQ venues that are starting to all look the same and becoming unoriginal. This one really feels like a classic restaurant - so great job there. The food was decent and fairly priced. Had the potato cake to start which was delicious, then a Wild Rabbit, which was OK - think next time I'll try something from Inka grill which is all smokey.
Met up with friends and thought we'd try somewhere new, so decided on Rosylee. It was a really good choice....staff were brilliant and sociable and the food was delicious and we'll worth the money...we chose 3 meals off the Set Menu. Definitely will be dining here again.
Really nice place n cocktails. Fair prices. Didn't dine but food looked good. Enjoyed atmosphere. Friday lunch time full of fun. Xxx
Lovely food and cocktails. Had a bad experience with one member of staff (all other members of staff were lovely and helpful). I made a complaint to the restaurant's manager about the staff member and this was dealt with efficiently - thank you.
A beautifully picturesque little restaurant, sits perfectly in the northern quarter. The staff are all very polite, need to be a little more attentive in certain areas but overall very good. The menu options are good, the portions are a generous size but not ridiculous and the food is fresh and tasty, good cocktail selection, good wine list, cater for all needs adequately. Looking forward to a return visit sometime soon.
Visited on a rainy September Sunday and had afternoon tea. It was very good. The scones were so fresh and still warm, the cakes were delicious and good sizes. The coffee creme brulee was a definite favourite. The tea selection wasn't extensive and was tea bags rather than loose tea which is my only tiny criticism for a place that is supposed to be a tea room. We also had a Manchester Bramble cocktail which was really nice too.
In St Stephenson square in mcr. Had afternoon lots of times. Our sandwiches and cakes were brought almost immediately suggesting pre made, without checking allergy etc. 2 very noisy hens parties, so was like a nightclub. Can't add anything further.
Nice food. Good value for money. Lovely atmosphere. Service wasn't great and it was quiet when I went.
Great atmosphere & delicious food! Perfect to sit outside in the summer. Friendly staff & reasonable prices.
Good staff, clean, lovely food. Well looked after as part of a hen party, definitely recommend for big groups/parties.
I was here for lunch. The sandwiches menu is a bit small, there are just 3 sandwiches to choice. The restaurant is very nice anyway and the food is good
Good food and decent selection of drinks even got 50% off.....as my date is cool like that! When only a few in had no atmosphere however that is normal and after 30 mins it was packed out which isnt supriseig as the staff were atentative and all around a decent gaff. Only negatives are it's chilly by the doors to the loos and the wait for deserts as on a timeline 😎
Been here twice for Sunday Lunch, while not a traditional pub roast, it has what is required with a good serving of meat. Service is always good and staff always seem happy and willing to help.
Cool place, great to be able to sit outside when the sun is shining too. Cocktails are presented well, although there is only a limited selection of beers.
Still a relatively new restaurant so some teething problems. My sister and I went for a Sunday dinner. The service seemed a bit haphazard and we weren't told there were no chicken roasts left when we were seated. The food was okay but nothing to shout about. I was given turkey as an alternative to chicken. I'd like to go back in a few months to see if there is any improvements.
I came here on their 50% off January deal. Despite my steak being quite juicy, the décor being fresh and homely, and the waitresses all being incredibly helpful and friendly, I just can't really endorse this place at the prices they're charging, when there are so many other fantastic restaurants in NQ with equal or better quality food at a lower price. A standard table service of 15% was added, which always irks me a little, and although the steak wasn't bad, I definitely wouldn't pay the asking price of £18-19 for it. It didn't taste seasoned, for a start, and there wasn't really any charring, like it'd been cooked on too low heat (despite it accurately being medium-rare as I requested). The beef skewer starter was pathetic - a few tiny morsels of average-flavoured meat. I would not have been happy if I had to pay full price for that! It seems they're trying to be up-market without having the quality or quantity of food to back it up. Certainly not bad quality - just not worth the hole in your pocket.
Great staff, great cocktails.. roast vegetables for Sunday roast were far too oily (maybe ask for them to be drained before serving), some greens would have been a welcome addition to the meal (even if it was just a token piece of broccoli or the option to buy a side portion of veg), and the Vegetarian Wellington would have been lovely if it contained more (some) filling. Got potential - but isn't worth £12 at present.
Had a drink after work here and paid over the odds for a glass of wine and sat awkwardly in the thoroughfare area (also the bar area but it's long and the bit before the restaurant) drinking it. Had a reasonably nice lunch with my Mum when she visited but it was nothing to write home about.
Lovely and cosy. Great food Went to a hen party yesterday and the service was so poor. I was so shocked with the way i was spoken by one of the waiter who called me rude. Finally i spoke to the lady manager and she was amazing because of her if has not put me off revisiting the restaurant. I think that some of the staff need customer service training.
Have been to Rosylee a few times and find the staff a little bit distant and not as friendly as I might have hoped. The food is ok, but £17 for a steak and 6 chips seems a bit steep! The breakfasts are very good, but the prices are high for what you get. The decor is lovely though.
Nice atmosphere and friendly staff, with interesting menu ideas. However I had the 'not fish and chips' and found that a block of battered halloumi about the size of my fist was too sickly - maybe it should be done in smaller individual pieces or accompanied by veg or something to lighten it a bit :)
I took a visiting friend here in May whilst the weather was nice. We sat outside in the sunshine and the place was exceptionally busy. There was a a lot of confusion as to whether it was table or bar service. We eventually ordered club sandwiches and a glass of wine - we dis ask for one of the sandwiches to have no egg or mayo, not a big request when food is made fresh. We waited over an hour for our sandwiches, and then were served both with egg and mayo. We pointed this out to the waiter and she quickly rectified it, comping us both a glass of wine for our inconvenience. Overall I enjoyed the food and decor indoors was beautiful, however service was a little lacking.
In the heart of Manchester's vibrant Northern Quarter, this restaurant offers local ingredients with a good selection of British menu. They have an INKA oven for indoor barbecue. Highly recommend their Dandelion and Burdock-marinated spatchcock chicken with their selection of local beers.
Great venue and the management are great. Unfortunately the staff are really slow and it's really bad service. You put up with it though due to the outside area being a great place while the weathers good
Visited this place a few times and its nice but its pricey. The selection is wide but it really comes into its own on a summer evening with plenty of outdoor seating and a great space in the dusk sunshine. Get in there early as tables outdoor tend to go very quickly
Not a great range of beers. Cocktails OK, but lacked a punch. Definitely go on a day where there are cocktail deals rather than pay full price.
Nice restaurant, but have been a little disappointed with the occasional dish. I had mussels, but they were a bit dry, however the fish skewers I had later on were quite tasty
Would only go back again just to see if being there without Groupon gave a better experience. I bought a cocktail afternoon tea deal for me and my girlfriend. I thought the point of Groupon was to entice new customers and impress them enough to come back. Felt the whole experience was tainted and we weren't a priority to staff. Booked in using the correct app method but we weren't on the system. Table service was slow in general and the meal took 40 minutes to prepare a few finger bites of food. The place itself is beautifully decorated and the cocktail was nicely made.
The Sunday dinner was pretty awful. The starters were fine (though £2 supplement for camembert?) We had beef (the pork didn't come with crackling) and chicken, the meat was fine but nothing special - no herbs or seasoning and the chicken skin wasn't crispy. The gravy didn't have much taste, the roast potatoes were not crispy or fluffy inside, in fact they were a bit hard. The veg was brought out in ramekins as if to disguise how boring it was - it was literally just small portions of boiled veg. It reminded me of a Sunday dinner from the 80's. I think it needs to do some research as it's simply not a contender for a decent Sunday lunch in Manchester.
Brunch was pretty tasty but overall service was beyond slow and the bill fiasco at the end was a shame. Had to keep asking for drink top ups for our 'bottomless' brunch as no waiter tended to the table. Ordered a cappuccino for me and a shot of tequila for the bride to be (was a hen do brunch)...waited 20 mins and had to ask again, as well as asking for the bill. The coffee or shot never made it to the table, but the bill managed to ...and included the items we never got. We'd also paid £75 deposit which had to be asked to be deducted, along with a meal which was never served as one person couldn't make it. Manager sorted in the end but the to and fro bill situation made everyone late for the next booked activity. Overall, slow service and disorganised which was a shame as the food and decor were nice.
Could not get through on the phone after trying to make a booking atleast 10 times. Nonody returned calls even after leaving voice-mail. However they do respond to emails. Afternoon tea: we had seven of them and all the sandwiches were prepared earlier and left out so bread was slightly hard. Cakes were nothing to write home about as they all pretty much tasted the same with different toppings. Fish finger sandwich is nice and so we're the cocktails ask for less ice as one of our party paid £3.50 for a mock tail which when the ice was removed only had a fifth of the glass filled with drink. Overall the ambience is nice the staff were attentive but with so many other places giving you the same thing with better quality produce its not worth visiting for a celebration.
Ordered a steak. Wanted it medium-well-done but the chef INSISTED I had it medium rare. Weird, as I'm sure that I was the customer and that I ended up paying for the meal...🤔 needless to say didn't enjoy the meal as much as I would have liked. Also, quite pricey but that's how most 'trendy' Northern Quarter restaurants are these days *sigh*
Nice decor with the vines on the ceiling and the color theme, but the food is mostly expensive with nothing special about it, even if called by fancy names. Also poor choice for breakfast if you are not fond of pure english breakfast (although if you are the vegetarian option is quite good I hear).
Eaten here and been for drinks. Pretty average place. Food was average but overpriced. Had a beer there during the summer but the beer was flat. Got a different beer as a replacement but they continued to serve the original to others. Not great. Beer selection generally isn't great. Some space outside in the summer though and near other places (that are better)
School dinner quality at Northern Quarter prices. We have very few days to ourselves as we have a young one. I researched best Sunday lunch in Manchester. This was in the top ten according to Manchester Evening News. We were extremely disappointed. Food bad: dry meat, veg too salty. Service glacial. Smelt like bleach as you walked in, so must have been a pretty exciting night the night before. If you are after a quality meal: avoid.
