Avis sur Locanda Alberti Mandello del Lario
Amazing food, great service - we were in Mandello del Lario a few days and ended up going back to this spot 3 times! They do a delicious lunch, dinner and coffees! They also do gluten free pasta which I appreciated
We had dinner with friends at Locanda Alberti. The restaurant was recommended to our friends and us - independently of each other - by locals. So we met up at Locanda Alberti on a warm spring night in Mandello del Lario. The first impression was already very good: a pleasant mix of locals and tourists, very clean, very friendly service. The food was also very tasty - from the carpaccio to the steak and even the seafood was delicious! The team was so friendly that we got chatting to the owner. He told us that he was launching his own brand of gin. As gin drinkers, we were delighted and took a bottle of ‘IL GIN GIAN’ back to Germany with us. On the evening we arrived, we mixed ourselves a gin and tonic - extremely tasty and highly recommended! Tip: be sure to ask for ‘IL GIN GIAN’ at Locanda Alberti if you'd like to take home some flavor of Lago di Como! :-)
Beautiful place to stay and it. Firstly the service - Very high level of english. Everyone sounds and speaks like native. You can ask prett, much anything and receive and answer. They look at every detail on your table. Coming to chceck throughout the dining, if everything fine. Of course bottle service is amazing. Food - exceptional, warm, prepared with love. Fresh ingredients, no additional seasonings. The taste of meat comes fom another universe. Wine - plenty of options. Depends on taste. Price is surprisingly low for the quality and service (something around 20-25 with drinks per person, without bottle of wine). I hope we come again to taste other things.
I honestly didn’t see anyone all week, self check in, code for the door, my only regret was not trying the restaurant (the menu looked good!). My room was great, it had everything I needed - and even a little kitchen if you wanted to make your own food Honestly the best sleep I’ve had whilst on a business trip, it was so quiet on an evening I used the trains/buses, there is plenty of places to park your car in Mandello if you have one I’ve stayed in Lecco previously when on business- from now on this is my hotel of choice! Did I mention I could see the lake from my window???? There is a nice walk to a waterfall if you’re feeling energetic!
Excellent location - right next to the ferry and short walk from the train station. We stayed in a spacious triple room featuring beautiful design and well-chosen furniture, all thoughtfully detailed. Everything was spotlessly clean, and the mattresses were very comfortable. The coffee machine with pods, along with tea and still/sparkling water, was a lovely touch. We found the sound of the church bells charming and romantic. With the windows closed, the room was well-insulated, and the bell tower chimes didn’t disturb us at all. We had dinner at the restaurant 3 nights in a row and were very pleased with the food. On weekends it gets quite busy so it is recommended to make a reservation.
The room was quite small but has all the necessary equipment. Self check-in without a problem. Very good location - near the train station and very close to the lake. I really recommend. The restaurant downstairs deserves the highest rating. Delicious food, great wine and great service. Elisabetta is a wonderful person who knows exactly what customer service should look like. Smiling and helpful. Thank you very much for the birthday surprise. I am full of emotion! 🥰
Great spot for stay in Mandello del Lario. Clean stylish rooms. Cozy atmosphere, good location very close to the ferry. Restaurant is also very good, tasty food and friendly staff. Enjoyed the stay.
We had a full 3 course dinner here, and it was absolutely great. The service was attentive and efficient. The fritto misto was amazing, the beef filet was cooked perfectly, it was juicy and tender and the tiramisu was light and creamy. For the quality we received, the pirces were more than reasonable. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting the area.
The rooms were really clean and beautiful. Tall ceilings and a great large shower which included a fountain seat. Location of Mandello is perfect with the boat just 2 mins away.
We stayed at the hotel and ate at restaurant. Hotel is totally renovated and very modern with huge rooms and huge bathroom with sit down cascading shower and rain shower. Restaurant had excellent service and food. Try the seafood soup although it’s more of a sauce. So fresh with clams mussels prawns. So good I ordered another. Rice with lake perch my wife had. Location of town is a challenge with few ferries to bellagio but that was the appeal and half the price.
**room only** Beautiful location. Room was huge. The bathroom is big too and the shower has 3 options including a "waterfall" one. The only negative side was the pillow not really comfortable. For the rest is 100% recommended.
Very good food and good wine! Amazing deserts! Good service and decoration. Only downsides are that portions are very little (5 raviolis for a main course) forcing you to take starters and deserts + zero effort in the quality of the bread they offer.
The restaurant: Fabulous authentic Italian food! It was super busy when we arrived for dinner and our waiter was superb. Friendly, recommended dishes and spoke perfect English which was a bonus! The hotel: room was cozy and good for a one night stay. The terrace is lovely to sit and have a wine, and a cute outlook over the church and below. The bed had two very thin pillows, and no blanket or cover…just a top sheet. Which was odd - it’s almost like someone forgot to finish making the bed. Also one of the staff let themselves in using the code when we were still in the room (in fact, I was in the bathroom with the door open!) so that wasn’t the best experience.
This is our first dinner restaurant, overall ok. Starter to share: cold cut, delicious but unfortunately no one likes the fatty cut …. Main dish: pasta, portion is not big, especially if you come from Germany. Pink Gnocchi is interesting and my shrimp pasta has the best price value, the rest is average. Price is tourist - not very Italian so to say. Dessert: everyone order Tiramisu and someone found plastic and hard candle pieces. They immediately exchanged and removed one dessert from the bill - very good and professional service!
A very nice location and beautiful restaurant. The service is very well trained and nice to everyone. The dishes are not particularly good though and we tried to eat the local and traditional choices: lavarello and orange, mixed fried fish of lake, tagliatelle and missoltino, beef in crosta "in puff pastry" and cotoletta milanese 😐 we had as a starter lavarello with arancia sauce that was very mild in taste, almost if overcooked at lunch time and than kept for the evening service, there was no taste coming from the lavarello fish. As a main I had a mixed fried fish of lake, which was nicely prepared and definitely the best suggestion for who wants to come to the locanda. The beef in "crosta" was a remixed "beef wellington" with overpowering mustard and mushroom, not particularly good. The cotoletta milanese was very soft and nicely made , definitely the second must have for who wants to stop by, only minor there is the price, with 27 euro one cotoletta, I understand inflation Is knocking to everyone' door but yet, not sure if worth it at that price. Tagliatelle and missoltino, was very nice but not impressive, there was something missing there, probably a floral or fresh herb taste. The overall experience of the dish was overpowering in saltiness which comes from the traditional fish, this could be complemented with an herb or a floral note. As a dessert we had only the campari "slush" which I do not suggest to have . Overall, beautiful location a 5 out of 5, a very nice service 5 out of 5, a good but not impressive food 3 out of 5, at a good price for the location 3 out of 5.
The food was plain and too expensive. The staff made 3 mistakes in the check to make us pay more
We only had lunch here. We ordered fried fish as appetiser and seafood - a soup called Mare, mare as main. It was so disappointing. The calamari were chewy, the mussels not fresh and the clams seemed to have sand. On top, the food is not savoury or tasty, but rather has an overpowering smell of sea.
We stayed at the hotel and were encouraged by staff to “enjoy Italian cuisine”. The service had smiles on their faces but they were very unorganized. It was not very crowded. We ordered two Aperol Spritz, water and two main courses. After 20 minutes the food came, but we still didn’t get our drinks. Then we got the Spritz’s but they had 0 bubbles and tasted awful like still water with aperol. Burger - dry bun, dry meat, no sauce. Pasta - ok but very ordinary. The water never came and we were almost charged for it. We did expect something more for that price.
The hotel rooms are very good, I have nothing to complain about them 5/5. But, surprisingly, the restaurant lowers the given stars significantlly. Judging by the previous opinions we were expecting something above average, maybe even extraordinary. What we got was absolutly mediocre at best and overpriced. I ordered mare mare mare(I have eaten many similar ideas around Italy- that was the biggest disappointment)-it is supposed to be a soup, but worry not- its just a little tomato sauce in the bottom, no bread given! The calamari were bearly eatable, so chewy. Nevertheless, the last straw was uncleaned kings' prawn, which when touched poured greenish decomposing juices all over the rest of the soup. Absolutly unedible. When noticed waiter didn't care. You can stay there, but unless we were very unlucky, don't eat there.
