Avis sur Basilica Medellin
Worth visiting. A big beautiful cathedral. Exposed brick exterior and interior. Huge. Long aisle and high ceiling. Surrounded by parks. Two small parks at both rear sides, and a big one in front. Has a turquoise fountain facing the facade. The parks are a bit sketchy. Lots of homeless. Police are stationed at the park in front. Only felt safe due to the stationed police officers.
Visited the Cathedral on a Sunday for prayer and was in awe by the size and magnificent stained glass windows. It's a peaceful space with many pews and has a history from Spanish Colonial times. There is a fountain outside with benches for seating and access to the inside from a few entrances on the street. If you decide to check out the interior keep your voice to a whisper for respect, as there are many locals praying.
An spectacular church that reminds the years 1700 and 1800 when they used to begin to use bricks in the constructions and high sealings in the churches that where so important. Today the church is absolutely gorgeous and well conserved, and receives thousands of people per week. The church makes a great complement with the Bolivar park and it’s fountain. Happy to see how the city has conserved in so well standing this antique church and today cathedral.
This architecturally stunning structure should undoubtedly be included in your Medellin itinerary. It is conveniently located near the plaza with Botero sculptures, making it an ideal stop during your downtown exploration. Step inside and immerse yourself in the building's colonial neo-romanticism style, characterized by its modest yet elegant décor. The serene ambiance and sense of contentment will leave a lasting impression on your soul.
Most beautiful Cathedral. Very peaceful. Opens for Holy Mass at 8 AM and at 10 AM.
It is a beautiful cathedral in the middle of downtown Medellin. History records the building with the most bricks used to build it: 1,120,000 of them. It is the place chosen for big ceremonies in the city, like farewells and weddings.
Every 1 Saturday of each month there is big market of antique things. I absolutely enjoy going there and find antique things.
Amazed by the beautiful architecture throughout this cathedral. A must see gem when in Medellin.
The most impressive cathedral of bricks and with wooden elements.
Made with lot of bricks. The surrounding is a bit sketchy and many Venezuelan who my guide described sketchy.
Beautiful mass, Sancta Misa, with the bishop.

Amazing and gorgeous structure . It is huge and worth going. I will use all of the constructive adjectives of my language and they will not be enough. Colombians be proud of it!

Nice building (nothing special the interior, though) immersed in a green landscape.
Closed. Park nearby shady. Be careful
Giant brick church, nothing too exciting but it's big!

It's a nice place to visit but it's usually close and it only opens for special occasions. Also, there are too many tramps and beggars outside and around the square, it doesn't look safe at all. But it's cool if you are religious or just want to take a look at the beautiful architecture and paintings in the inside
Not the most beautiful cathedral to be honest

It has some beautiful stained glass windows. however, it is on a really bad shape, It smells musty, and you can clearly see that the wood on the ceiling is deteriorating.
Closed when we went by in the middle of the day, which is unusual for a Catholic church. Also, several people that appear homeless/under the influence of drugs in the park in front of the church.
