Avis sur Huniik Mérida
Truly amazing experience from the service to the food, drinks and atmosphere. We had the sommelier do a pairing for us and complimented the fabulous, unique, creative and incredibly delicious food. Highly recommended!
outstanding meal. the best, most inventive and well executed in merida if not yucatan. it's pricey and long but well worth it if you enjoy fine dining. we will return next time we're in MX.
An exceptional dining experience. Huniik delivers refined, contemporary Yucatecan cuisine rooted in tradition yet presented with creativity and precision. The service was attentive, the atmosphere intimate, and the tasting menu was thoughtfully curated. Each dish demonstrated technical excellence and a deep respect for local ingredients. Highly recommended for those seeking culinary depth and cultural authenticity. Just watch out for the expensive water that they keep topping up.
Huniik delivers an extraordinary dining experience that’s a true gem in Mérida. The service was impeccable—warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate. The wine pairings were thoughtfully curated, and the standout was the unexpected delight of a Mexican sake, which added a unique twist to the evening. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor, showcasing the chef's artistry. If you’re in Mérida and looking for a memorable culinary adventure, Huniik is a must.
This is a review of the taco bar (La Barra de Huniik), that is adjacent to Huniik. This place is incredible, and a must try if you are in Merida. The concept is inspired by Japanese omakase, and celebrates corn and Yucatecan ingredients. You can either pick which tacos you want, or let the chef decide. I originally was going to get 4 tacos, but the food was so good I changed to 6. I had the fish taco, tomato huarache, beef taco, venison panucho, duck sope, and honey masa. The staff are so kind, creative and talented. Make a reservation and go here!!
Wow this is top meal of all time kind of experience from start to finish. This chef deserves a Michelin or James Beard nominee. We tried so many new foods and food so many inventive ways - kudos to the Huniik team for an incredible evening of food and drink and memories. 12 courses, wine paring option - say yes. You can watch the food being made and plated and they truly love what they do and care about the food. Incredible. Thank you. Outstanding from the salad course to the lamb to tuna to trying crickets to tequila to natural Mexican wines and a sake and sea bass and tomatoes and so much more - WOW.
What an experience. The courses were elevated local Yucatan cuisine. The open kitchen set up where we could observe and engage if we wanted to was really cool. Each course was so different from the last. I absolutely loved how the experience engaged all the senses (taste, smell, touch, visual, sound). It was one of my partner's all time fav coursed restaurants. We got lucky and ended up going on a week night so we had the entire restaurant to ourselves.
A very memorable and exemplary dining experience that started with a welcome cocktail and informative explanation of the restaurants' interior design. This was followed by a multi-course tasting menu of expertly crafted and beautifully presented courses. Every course was highly enjoyable, beautifully plated, and presented. Each course was creative with a combination of flavor, texture, and temperature that worked perfectly. Having dined at a long list of multiple Michelin stars, multiple Repsol Sun, and 4 and 5 "hat" Gault & Millau restaurants, how would I rate Huniik? I would give a rating of two (2) Michelin stars.
One of the most inventive and delicious fine dining experience I have had in Mexico. Tasting menu only. The menu changes every season and I love the creative textile format that also showcases the local artisanal art form. Advance reservation is recommended if you need special dietary assistance. The restaurant went above and beyond to accommodate my husband’s gluten allergy and prepared separate sauces and substitute dishes for him. Very appreciative of their attentive service and flexibility 🙏 The food was phenomenal from beginning to end. I love the perfect balance of flavors and play on textures. If I have to pick a favorite dish, it would be the refreshing green avocado soup with a kiss of chile. There is so much thoughtfulness in the choice of local ingredients and beautiful execution. We would have gladly returned for a second consecutive dinner if they have a different menu. It is also always a good sign when you leave a fancy restaurant feeling both a full stomach and a full heart ❤️ A must-visit to add to your Merida restaurant bookmarks ✨
This is an experience not just a meal. The only Relais & Chateau property in the Yucatán and one of two in Mexico. It is a unique experience. Be prepared for the 9 course tasting menu. What can I say? The welcome drink is a gin & tonic. The 8 table restaurant features an open kitchen. The service is superb. Yes, it is not a cheap eats. But more than worth every penny
Huniik was an amazing experience from the delicious food, attentive service, and all around unique atmosphere. From Mauricio the GM who made sure everything was perfect to all of the chefs that came over to explain the food, we left our meal completely satiated in belly and mind. They even accommodated for some dietary restrictions I had but brought my husband a taste of a course he missed due to my restriction! That simple additional touch shows how much they care about their patrons and wanting you to experience the food. Thank you for a wonderful last night in Merida! A must visit for all!

Great ambiance, the presentation of the food was mind-blowing, service was flawless, a couple of the courses were so tasty I wanted to run to the kitchen for more.
Nice place with great food and good service. The 10-dishes tasting menu was delicious and it was an experience. Service was good, albeit it felt a bit abusive at times. I had to pay 10 1L bottles of water for 8 people, even if we did not drink it all, and they were a bit pushy with the wine. Pricey (US$170 per person), but worth it.
The food really isn’t that good, actually. Some of it too far on the experimental side and doesn’t make sense and really not worth the price, I’m a bit surprised it made a top 50 list. The thing that really baffled me is the wine menu. Like, unhinged and outrageous prices for what is pretty bad wine.
This was a mixed bag. After having recently been awarded a place on the 50 Best List we had high hopes. The advertised 10 course menu (this includes Amouse bouche, no Amouse-Gueule) features a variety of local dishes which for the chef encapsulates the Yucatán pensiula. Unfortunately for us we felt that some dishes (especially at the start of the menu) were very bland/ under-seasoned. For example the tomato dish had no depth and did not celebrate the food item. On the other hand the squid carpaccio with sauce left nothing of the squid itself as it was far too overpowering. We also opted for the wine paring. Here we received 5 mexican wines with barely any information about the vineyard out the vine iteself. There was also no explanation on why it was paired with a certain dish. Some dishes had no wine paired with them at all, while some did. What is a nice touch is that you can at all times approach the kitchen and talk to the staff. Overall in our opinion this evening was not worth what was summed up on the total bill. A real shame for us as we had high hopes.
The service was spectacular very attentive with a lot of product knowledge however the food is far to be good. I have the feeling that The look and the gimmicks are more important than the taste. Very expensive if compared to the best restaurants in NYC , Paris or London. I recommend do not go.
I was nudged toward agreeing to the chef’s choice of tacos, omakase style, so that I would be assured of an expertly-balanced experience. This is what I got: a pork rind taco, an pork belly taco, a t…
Tried to go but unfortunately for me if you don’t make reservations for lunch at least one day before they are not open. They should write this in the instagram page as they don’t have a webpage and update their schedule when they make these types of decisions. For a restaurant in the top 50 this shouldn’t happen. I would’ve drove somewhere else instead!!!
