Great service and the comfiest hotel bed I've ever slept on. Hang out by the pool, or on one of the balconies and enjoy being able to walk around town, or eat at the hotel. The bell man is awesome too, he carried our bags up while we grabbed a bite and recommended places in the area too.
True class! The staff are extremely attentive. The diversity is empowering in this place as the professionalism and care beams from every beautiful aesthetic. Perfect vacation/staycation spot. Truly a magical experience. The pool is amazing. My kids loved the macaroons and ping pong table. I enjoyed walking the grounds, the truffle fries and the Saint Vincent spritz. Best bartenders in the city ( imo) the management is extremely proficient. It’s a cheat on your New Orleans stay if you don’t at least tour the hotel Saint Vincent
Love this beautiful hotel in the New Orleans Garden District. Unfortunately, the property owners will not pay the commission promised the travel agency. There are other boutique hotels as nice that commission travel agents. Book them.
Wow, wow, wow where do I even begin?! Leading up to my stay I had high hopes for Hotel Saint Vincent and they truly surpassed every expectation. A few weeks before my trip I had a few logistical questions and their staff was super responsive/helpful via email and made me feel very comfortable prior to my trip. I wanna give a special shoutout to the best in the biz Brandon Hernandez who went above and beyond making sure we were taken care of and had everything we needed to make our anniversary trip to NOLA a success. Such a kind and amazing individual. Brandon and the rest of the HSV staff is a great representation of what hospitality is all about. Throughout our stay we couldn't get enough of the amazing amenities and design of the space. HSV is a hotel experience like I've never had before and you can really tell they took their time to create a beautiful and unique experience for their guests. Room was stunning, drinks were delicious, food was superb, pool was so fun to relax at as we got over our Bourbon St hangovers. I don't think I'll ever be able to stay anywhere else in NOLA other than Hotel Saint Vincent! You just gotta go and see what I'm talking about!
This hotel is very nice. It has all the amenities you would look for. The pool is big and water temperature is perfect. The staff is super friendly. The location at the lower garden district is definitely the highlight as it is away from the craziness at the downtown area. I would go back to this hotel anytime! Super recommended!
The Hotel Saint Vincent is easily the coolest hotel I have ever had the pleasure to visit. As a designer, I pay particular attention to asthetics and this hotel didn't miss a detail. Their staff goes above and beyond and the restaurants and bars are fantastic. The rooms feel more like a cool apt than a hotel room. I am already planning my next trip there!
We loved staying at the Hotel St. Vincent! My fiancé and I were in town looking at venues to hold our upcoming wedding and staying here helped make the trip even better. The bed was the comfiest we’ve ever slept on and the full size toiletries by D.S. And Durga are incredible. We can’t come back soon enough.
This place is EVERYTHING! The drinks, the staff, literally everything is amazing here! The Chapel room has a cute theme and love the pool as well. I have not eaten here yet but I am saving that for my next trip to New Orleans. This is a must see while in New Orleans.
Can’t imagine a better spot to stay in New Orleans. Music and DJ’s daily. Pool and poolside bar. Bar, cafe and restaurant give you plenty of options. As does the neighborhood. Well decorated interior. Plenty of chill nooks. Very friendly staff. Service everywhere in New Orleans was great!
The hotel renovation is so cute. Love the vibe and look of rooms, bathrooms and entire property. Great location if you want to shop and eat on magazine! Had a few issues with our room, but the manager was friendly and helpful and resolved them.
Mel Arroya, is largely responsible for my incomparable stay. Because I live in New Orleans, it was a STAYCATION. Upon arrival, I parked my car and never moved it for 4 days. Generously, they upgraded me to a suite. The catalyst was Pt Clear, Al friends met me there. They and I ALL had a ball and were treated with kindness, congeniality and VIP service from check-in to check-out. I even stayed an extra day to sit and read by the glamorous pool. I continue to return for San Lorenzo, Paradise Bar and the highly curated shop, By George. High praises for Mel and the entire staff. They define customer service in spades. Go and go…soon
I’m a transplant who’s lived in New Orleans for almost 7 years now. In the last few years I’ve seen the new things and establishments New Orleans has come to bring especially in the hotel / hospitality industry and this one take the cake. I took my daughter on a staycation because I was having a tough few weeks and she wanted to come with me when I told my partner I needed a little get away. The hotel staff were so friendly and made me feel like going to the hotel was the right decision. We called and tried to eat at the restaurant and they accommodated us, even tho it was a busy night. The bear claw tubs, salt water pools & complimentary coffee and pasteries in the morning were evening I didn’t even know I needed wrapped in one. You can take my word for it or not, but THIS is the hotel stay you should be looking for.
Our anniversary getaway was perfectly placed here. We found the design of the hotel and kindness of the staff to be perfect for what we were looking for. The rooms although snug, were quiet and well stocked. It did take us a day or two to learn how best to get up our room - mindful, climbing a floor or two of stairs was essential to our success. The pool, bar and food option in site was excellent. I wish I had known about the events in property at checkin as we missed a jazz night in the Chapel. Great shopping, parking, and dining experiences walkable from the hotel. Cost is slightly above desired rate, but the hotel was a good fit for a quick getaway. Tip - Hotel room keys are paper and will not work if you swim with them in your pocket.
This recently renovated hotel was such a vibe! Booked two nights after new years when I saw they had a special, otherwise it’s a bit outside my price range. The staff at the front desk were SO helpful and one even escorted us to our room and gave us great intel for local bars and restaurants. The neighborhood is super walkable and close to the trolley as well as on the bus line. Late check out (noon) was great and they accommodated an early check in for us at no extra charge. Too bad the weather was too cold for the pool otherwise we’d be hanging out there every afternoon!
Could not have asked for a better stay! I stayed for both work and fun and was blown away by the hospitality my husband I received. Immediately upon arrival, the staff went out of their way to see to every detail. Additionally, the rooms were stunning. The bathroom and the extra large tub were certainly a highlight of the stay. The best part though, was the chapel club! The cocktails were superb and the staff was fantastic. This will be a go to spot for future NOLA stays.
I've had a lovely stay at Hotel Saint Vincent and I'm sad to leave. I booked a Veranda King and my room is spacious and has every amenity that you could possibly need. The staff have been wonderful, the pool is AMAZING, and it's super dog friendly. I'll definitely be back on my next visit.
As a business traveler, I have stayed at dozens of hotels in New Orleans. The St Vincent has quickly moved to the top of my list of best stays/experiences not only in New Orleans, but of all my travel destinations. Hotel is full of History, very clean and staff is hospitable and there for my every need. Excellent property and very convenient in walkable neighborhood. The beds are absolutely amazing, I look forward to coming back to my room as I know that I will have an amazing slumber. Hotel guest only cocktail bar is also a great place to unwind. Property is clean and has a fantastic old time charm. Highly recommend!
Love this hotel. Has both old school vibe and modern feel. Staff is exceptional - all around the hotel, from Emma at front desk to restaurant and bar teams, bellmen and housekeeping. All very welcoming and kind. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with lots of terraces, patios and verandas to relax on. There’s a great cafe on site, as well with excellent coffee and croissants. I’ve only travelled here for business trips but it would be ideal as a fun, boozy, romantic getaway. The pool area looks like a party with an poolside bar and lots of areas to hangout. This would be a cool, historic, groovy place all on its own but really the happy, hip young team running the show makes all the difference.
Loved this hotel. I've been to New Orleans many times but I'd never stayed in the Lower Garden area. There is so much to do and the area is gorgeous. The room was amazing and the meeting space was beautiful with wall to wall floor to ceiling windows, which was very nice. Usually meeting rooms are inside the hotel and have very little natural sunlight. This was such a great change. I noticed I didn't get sleepy like I normally do in hotel meeting space because of the lack of natural light. Now let's talk about the service. The first night I got in late after the room service kitchen closed. The gentleman at the front desk, went out of his way to find me food and deliver it to my room. And that is pretty much how my whole stay went. The staff consistently went above and beyond to make sure all my needs were met. On my final day, I wanted to try yakamein, which is a very local and typically comfort food made at home. But the staff researched for like 30 minutes finding a spot that actually sold the dish AND it was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel.
This is one of the finest hotels that I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. It is so well thought out and has an incredible pool and public spaces to enjoy. We stayed in the French Quarter during the first part of our trip to NoLa, but I much preferred the neighborhood. There's amazing shopping, great food, and beautiful architecture. Jaci who checked us in was so welcoming and pleasant the whole vibe they're just feels right. Can't wait to come back because our room was so whimsical and fun, can't wait to see more! Thank you, Hotel Saint Vincent your team is amazing from the Front Desk to the Restaurant Staff. This is an inspiring hotel and not to be missed by anyone that appreciates the special touches during your stay.
My husband and I stayed here the last two weekends with our dogs and we absolutely loved it! Everything was incredible from the food and beverage to the staff and attention to detail throughout. Some of the best food I’ve eaten actually! The design was on point! Everyone was so cool about us having our two dogs hang with us everywhere which is a huge plus! We highly recommend the Hotel Saint Vincent the next time you’re in NOLA!!
This is my favorite neighborhood in new orleans. Hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The pictures of the rooms online don't even do it justice. They are very spacious, high ceilings, no detail was overlooked. The service is top notch across the board. Its pretty expensive for new orleans, but worth it. I do wish the pool was heated, it was way too cold to go in which kinda sucked. It also would have been nice to have some complementary water in the rooms, when you are paying that much it’s something I expect.
Yes, yes, yes. I can’t say enough about the beauty and fun of this hotel. For starters, you feel like you are walking into a Wes Anderson film when you walk into Hotel Saint Vincent. Every detail from floors to walls were beautifully designed. They seemed to have taken style into high priority here. I could have spent the entire stay in the hotel, and that is saying a lot in a city like Nola. Upon check in, the valet and front desk employees were all very friendly and accommodating. We ate at the in house restaurant San Lorenzo, which I strongly recommend. The food was beautiful and well prepared. Our server (Tim) was so much fun. We didn’t want to leave. The Paradise Lounge is a lot of fun too. The hotel is currently new so the lounge and restaurant were live and happening. Our room (veranda king) was spacious and beautiful. The veranda itself was huge and classic New Orleans. The bathroom was my favorite part of the room. So fun! The pool and courtyard area are well designed to make the smaller size feel luxurious without feeling stuffy. This hotel has multiple shared spaces for you to chill at. While the Garden district definitely has a different vibe than the quarter, most of the city is a quick ride away. If you like walking, the quarter is definitely in walking distance. All and all, this hotel is a blast. Five stars +
Great dinner and excellent service. Everything from the bread service to dessert and after dinner drinks was awesome. Young Mike did a stellar job and made us feel welcome. Great recommendations from him. Try the beet salad!!
I cannot say enough amazing things about this place. The location, the interiors, the staff- everything is superb! Right off Magazine St in the lower garden district it's the best way to visit New Orleans and be just a short distance from the craziness of the quarter. Both restaurants at the hotel serve impeccable food and all the bars have delicious cocktails. It was my first visit to Nola where I didn't want to leave the hotel. We will definitely be back!
My adult daughter and I made a quick trip to NOLA to experience the city during the holidays. The hotel and staff were amazing. The first night we enjoyed a great dinner at the little noodle house on the property. After dinner we enjoyed a few after dinner drinks at the bar. All of the staff was attentive and so nice. The next day we explored the city to see the lights inside a lot of the downtown hotels. After a day of exploring we made it to their fantastic happy hour. Breanne (sp?) was phenomenal. She took the time to write down several things for us to do that evening after our dinner. We will absolutely stay here again.
The Sister Studio was awesome and the bed was super comfortable! The Chapel Club was really cool and the food at the Paradise Lounge was incredible! Everyone from check-in to check-out was kind and welcoming. Santiago is the best! Only wish the pool was open on a beautiful, warm day! I would stay here again anytime!
My wife and recently had the pleasure of spending a few days at this fine gem of a hotel. Great design choices, friendly staff and a cool, calming energy that surrounds you while you explore the different spaces. They have 3 bars and a restaurant on site and they are all great! I highly recommend staying here or at least stopping by for a cocktail! We love this place!
We went to St. Vincent Hotel on our way to Garden District. Hotel lobby is beautiful and outdoor courtyard is unlike any other in Nola. Highly recommend this location for its beautiful decor, service, multiple bars and restaurants.
I attended a reception for the undergraduate school I attended. The event was very nice. Food and drink were provided and the location was in a building on the grounds behind the main building. It was a nice place to mingle, eat and drink in a pleasant, casual atmosphere. I would love to see more of the main building because the glimpse I had as I passed through was very well done.
Impeccably Re-Designed! Loved everything about this experience! We came from the French Quarter and were instantly relaxed. Every design detail was perfectly thoughtful-- Seemed to capture the original orphanage's charm with a very modern & colorful flair. The staff was super friendly and professional and the poolside cocktails were the best of the trip.
The historic Hotel Saint Vincent is one of the most unique boutique hotels in New Orleans. Its location on Magazine St. in Lower Garden is well positioned, a little quieter than being in the CBD or in the Quarter. The restaurant here has a delightful menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner, late night at the bar. Great chef and hotel staff. There are 2 wonderful bars here with lounge seating amidst lovely original artwork. There's a large courtyard and veranda as well as a pool. On the same property is the Elizabeth Cafe with the best pastries and outstanding Vietnamese food.
Fantastic luxurious stay at this gorgeous hotel with top rate amenities. Wonderful hospitality as well. Great pool, cocktails amd restaurants on site with staff that is super friendly and makes for a memorable stay.
We're Chapel Club members. We live in the neighborhood, so the membership allows us to use the pool and provides discounts on food and drinks, among LOTS of other perks. Today was the first day this year we've gone to the pool. Excellent day for it. Lively, but not too busy. Absolutely love this property.
Our family had an absolute amazing experience at hotel St Vincent. Every person from the hotel we interacted with was absolutely lovely. Not only is the property exquisitely decorated at every corner the people went above and beyond. I also have a great experience at the bar with Rob and Ed. We will definitely be choosing Hotel St Vincent the next time we come to Nola.
Such a chic hotel - I live in New Orleans, but have used the hotel for special events. Great design. And great for a drink or meet up.
I’ve stayed here twice now and it’s been so lovely each time. It’s a gorgeous property with such kind staff. I would like to mention how helpful Manfreddy, Brooke, Richie, and Ashley were! Manfreddy remembered us from almost a year ago and that was so sweet to me. There’s so many reasons we came back and will continue to do so.
We chose to have Hotel Saint Vincent to host our Bachelor/Bachelorette party with friends and family. There is no better place in the world to host a celebration with loved ones than Hotel Saint Vincent. The hotel is beautiful and impeccably decorated, from the common areas to the rooms every detail is tastefully arranged. The pool area is an oasis that is relaxing during the week and set for fun on weekends. The food at Lorenzo is incredible - there is no better luxury than the club sandwich eaten poolside. But the cherry on top is the wonderful staff - they went above & beyond consistently to ensure our weekend was an unforgettable one. Thank you to Hotel Saint Vincent - I am already planning my next trip back.
My boyfriend and I recently had dinner at Hotel St. Vincent and all I can say is WOW! The vibe in the restaurant is perfection. The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks were tasty and to make things even better, we had an incredible server; Young Mike. He was super knowledgeable about the food and made great recommendations! Plus, he was so fun and hospitable it really caught us by surprise.I can’t recommend this place enough, especially for a romantic dinner.
Had a dreamy stay at Hotel Saint Vincent, I about cried when I had to leave. Yeh property is absolutely beautiful, so relaxing and interesting. I enjoyed every moment at the pool, it was so clean and well maintained, the seating was so comfortable and the temperature was perfect. Special mention to the staff, every person was so warm and welcoming. The pool attendant went above and beyond to ensure we had the perfect stay, she was so kind and inviting it made the stay just so incredibly special. The food was incredible, the Italian margarita is maybe my new favourite drink. I will dream about my perfect stay until I am so fortunate as to return again.
My husband and I had a weekend stay for my birthday and our baby moon. The staff was so kind and surprised us by upgrading our room for us to celebrate. For the weekend, we felt like we didn’t even need to leave the hotel. With two amazing restaurants and the pool, we were able to just relax and spend our time at the hotel. It’s like it’s little own oasis tucked in New Orleans. When we did feel like leaving the hotel, we were so close to so many things that are walkable or a short drive. We couldn’t recommend Hotel Saint Vincent enough and can’t wait to visit again!
This place is cool. We're in our 40's and have been coming to New Orleans for years. This will be our go to spot for folks that are looking to stay outside of the Bourbon Street madness. (However, If you want to go to Bourbon just jump on the trolley for 4 dollars- which we did) The restaurants are on point, Excellent cocktails, pool scene surrounded by a historic building is amazing and high design rooms. We enjoyed staying in, as much as exploring New Orleans. Highly recommended and will return soon for a true vacation!
Hotel Saint Vincent is one of my favorite places in New Orleans. The staff is some of the most incredible people I’ve ever met and I will definitely be returning. I am from New Orleans and hotel Saint Vincent is a beautiful representation of my city. Sarah, the front desk manager is a true gem. She goes out of her way to help and her energy and smile is contagious. Jamaul the bell man was always willing to help and provide the best service. Marie in the gift shop was so knowledgeable about the products and her style is impeccable. I can’t wait to be back and hug all of them!
This property is outstanding in location, service, food & amenities. Keep in mind it is an old hotel with a boutique aviance so do not expect a very modern room. It is clean, neat & comfortable & the little outside deck overlooking the Plaza & pool was so inviting especially at night. Take a glass a wine out & relax or have breakfast on the deck in the am - so lovely. We highly recommend.
This hotel feels like such a getaway! Even sitting on the front porch is so relaxing w| all of the greenery surrounding the entrance. I typically go to St Vincent to visit their Paradis Lounge bar, dine at San Lorenzo or visit the pool. Every time I visit is always a great experience. My favorite items to order off the menu for small bites are the Zucchini Fritti w| the Classic Shrimp Cocktail— always the perfect pair. Drinks are perfection, food is perfection, you can’t go wrong Service is awesome as well! 10/10 recommend!
The Hotel Saint Vincent is a wonderful old orphanage building from the 1860’s. The building has been painstakingly restored and is comfortable as well as beautiful. There is a great restaurant, two nice bars and it’s close to great shopping and dining. The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. We stayed here because it is an historic building and loved it, but you must understand it is not modern construction.
This is such a beautiful relaxing spot. We came for memorial weekend. Although, it was hot, the drinks and vibes made me forget about the heat. You are in New Orleans but you feel swept away to another place. Gives white lotus 🪷 vibes as well. So chill.
I visited the Hotel St Vincent with my good friend for two nights last week and it was a dream! The staff (from the front desk to room service to bartenders) were friendly & helpful, the entire hotel smelled amazing, pool vibes were gorgeous, food & drinks were on point and hotel location is the BEST in all of New Orleans. Brandon helped us get sorted with a reservation and was so so kind. Truly one of the best short trips I’ve ever taken.
I couldn't ask for a more perfect wedding day. We got married on 12-31-24, and couldn't be happier with the venue, food, and staff. The ceremony was held on the back veranda with the pool view. We had about 40 guests, and there was seating for everyone, and an aisle for my wife to walk down. The reception was in the chapel room, which I really loved, from the cush seating options, to the bar, and access to the veranda in the front of the hotel. Now to what really was exceptional, the food! Prime rib was cooked to perfection. Some of the best crab cakes ever, fried oysters, tomato bruschetta, Caesar salad, broccolini, all were amazing. All my guests told us how great the food was. It was also my birthday, and they made me a cheesecake, with raspberries which was so fire. The wedding cake was also unbelievable, and beautiful. All of this is made in house, and they did a wonderful job cutting it up, and giving us the leftover cake. Absolutely perfect venue for a low key, high class wedding, in a gorgeous Nola hotel. I am very thankful to all who were involved for my wedding, thank you so much. I may have to get a pool membership here, it's an outstanding venue!
Can't believe it's taken me so long to leave a review -- this place as simply wonderful. My partner proposed to me at the St. Vincent last summer and the staff went the extra mile to make everything so special. They upgraded the room, brought us flowers (free of charge), helped my partner plan a sweet in-room breakfast, and were absolutely lovely and congratulatory the whole time. The design is impeccable, the toiletries were really awesome. The coffee in the reception area in the morning is really good, and little things like that can make a place. There's something so old and special about the place, while being incredibly cool. I felt really rich while staying here and I absolutely am not. We had a marvelous time and will definitely be back. Thanks again!
Stayed here over the weekend and very beautiful decor. There was a musty smell in some areas of the hotel and bar area.
We absolutely adored our stay! I was happy to celebrate my birthday in one of the Garden Courtyard Rooms. The upgrade request from a regular king room was accommodating and done so easily from the check in email. I loved the details of the room, the phone, the wallpaper, THE ROBE! I bought myself one for my birthday, I loved the silk robe so much! The George (giftstore) employee was so helpful and absolutely encouraging of my purchase. There's a beautiful pool and plants everywhere! Details all around property thoughtful, classy and cozy. Our room was moody and vintage, I was happy just hanging around relaxing. Would stay here again for sure! Great coffee shop right next door, Mojos.
We had a great time during our visit and the staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the San Lorenzo restaurant and the cocktail lounge during our visit. The food and drinks were first class. The room was nice and we loved the architectural details throughout the property. This hotel has a great vibe and it made our 35 anniversary very special.
Beautiful location. We were not hotel guests but we especially enjoyed the chapel club and Bobby was an excellent host/bartender. He was super helpful with our questions about the location as a venue and the drinks were perfect. we will be back!
The second-floor suite has three rooms: a living area, a bathroom, and a master BR suite that includes two balconies, one private and one shared. The master suite vibe had warmth, coziness, and a comfortable king-sized bed. The entire suite has vintage antiques throughout the rooms and a luxury decor that is both elegant and timeless. The bathroom suite is large with a walk-in shower, over-sized tub, sink, and a private toilet. The aesthetic appeal of this room is in the designer’s hand-painted wallpaper from the Marbles Collection: Marbles by Voutsa Wallpaper in Pattern: Turtles Have Short Legs. Must-see! There is a well-stocked mini bar/mini fridge that contains common and premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, sodas, salty snacks, and an assortment of old-fashioned candy. Both the living area and master BR have a wall-mounted flat-screen TV. If you’re a coffee aficionado, the Elizabeth Street Cafe, a French-Vietnamese restaurant, has some of the tastiest coffee/lattes and pastries. The Vietnamese latte is an outstanding coffee. San Lorenzo Restaurant and Paradise Lounge have excellent food and cocktail drinks. The Birds of Paradise cocktail from Paradise Lounge is delicious and deserved a mention. The pancake stacks on the breakfast menu at San Lorenzo are also worth mentioning and truly scrumptious! You can dine either inside or outside or order room service. The servers were prompt, focused, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The HSV may not be centrally located along a parade route, but you need only walk a few blocks to St. Charles Street to catch a New Orleans Mardi Gras parade. There is minimal noise from the street. The hotel has free parking and WiFi, is wheelchair accessible, has a pool and poolside bar, and is kid-friendly and pet-friendly. The staff at Hotel Saint Vincent are notably professional and rated highly worthy of being remembered.
Since coming back from my honeymoon in NOLA in June, I literally dream about this hotel. It is stunningly gorgeous and so well styled. It even smells good. It's such a vibe I cannot even describe it. The location is excellent for a not-so-typical NOLA trip. It's about a mile or two from the French Quarter but we loved that. It's quiet, safe, and so easy to get anywhere in the city either walking or with Uber/car. There are also tons of great bars, restaurants, and shopping within walking distance. No car required! The rooms are a bit small but nice and quiet. The balconies are huge and so nice to have when the weather is nice. Both bars are so cute and have great drinks and service. The meal we had at the hotel restaurant was literally one of our favorites of the whole trip, which is saying something for a city known for food! Front desk service was friendly and excellent. Overall, I'd come back to NOLA just to come back here. It's my personal paradise and I can't wait to come back.
I stayed for a weekend with friends to celebrate a birthday. The staff was amazing! The food in San Lorenzo was amazing and so were the drinks in Paradise Bar in the hotel. We laid by the pool every day. The staff was very nice and attentive. 5 out of 5 stars to say the least. The hotel has really interesting history and such a cool vibe. Clearly the owner put a lot of details and thought into everything even down to the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash which smell amazing! I will definitely return. Thanks again for such a memorable weekend!
Didn’t stay here but the Service & cocktails were A-1! Really enjoyed the happy hour and elevated vibes. Don’t miss the boutique inside! The had so much I wanted to take home. Can’t wait to go back! Would love to see the rooms next time. I’m confident it wouldn’t disappoint!
One of the most beautiful hotels by far in New Orleans. Second time staying here and the esthetics alone are worth it. Friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful room with a pool courtyard patio. Lovely amenities and ate breakfast at San Lorenzo which I would highly recommend. When in the garden district this is my go to hotel.
My daughter had her wedding at Hotel St Vincent. The hotel is beautiful with so much history. The staff was excellent and always helpful. The restaurant and bar had delicious food and great staff.
This is my second stay at The Saint Vincent, and we have decided we will not stay anywhere else is NOLA. Design and attention to detail is second to none. Breakfast on patio every morning, afternoons at the pool and cocktails at Paradise. Not to forget the Elizabeth, for casual lunch, the team is so nice and the food is fresh and creative. Thank you!
We stayed here for our 10th anniversary in 2025, and it was just the best. Fun art, neat history, easy walking distance to so many great spots to eat and drink in the lower garden or the rail car. And if it rained, the bars in house were excellent too, with a great bakery next door and an outstanding coffee shop across the street.
Ive been a couple times for a gathering with a member and always found the staff to be attentive, upscale feeling and having classy food and drink offerings. The private members lounge is super nice.
This is really a review of the pool bar which is unexpectedly great. The bar manager is infusing spirits and thinking carefully about her cocktails. Plus it’s a hidden oasis when you’ve been walking all day and need a break. And when you order the fries with your cocktail ask for a side of the green Caesar dressing. Amazing!
Fabulous. Expensive and there are tons of tourists, but this place is a vibe. They need to change the lighting in the chapel club, and I don't like how they've changed the decor in there, but I still love it. It doesn't make sense to me that coffee is not in the tropical bar and the chapel club should be the bar that is always open late.
My wife and I had a great experience celebrating her birthday at the restaurant. Delicious steaks, excellent sazerac. The hotel itself is awesome. Lots of places to relax and have a drink. Beautiful courtyard and pool. The staff was also great. If we didnt live so close we would vacation here. We loved it.
Tipping culture in the U.S. is a scam. It lets employers off the hook by having you pay the wages they refuse to. Why is it my job to ensure someone earns a decent living just because I ordered a sandwich? No other wealthy country does this like the U.S. — and no, that doesn’t make it "generous," it makes it exploitative. Stop calling it tradition. Start calling it what it is: legalized wage theft disguised as etiquette.
We stopped by this place on 9 July 22 around 4pm to have the famous Sazerac drink upon recommendation. It’s nothing special and it’s really strong. The Birds of Paradise and Elysian Fields drinks were much better. We initially went to the outdoor bar by the pool. We left because the bartender was so curt and seemed annoyed. The other bartenders were inattentive one of which had a bonnet on her head. Their customer service and appearance was horrible. The bar in the front was much better. The server (Asian lady) was very nice and had excellent customer service. The hotel itself is beautiful.
Beautiful structure with cool history. Ate at their restaurant San Lorenzo. Food was decent. Beautifully plated and flavorful but not as amazing as I hoped. Cocktails were decent (the tiki one was pretty rad) but if you’re in to craft cocktails there some places with heavier hitting drinks that are a bit more exploratory. Not really in to the martini menu since the feels a bit played. All and all beautiful space, decent food/drinks and worth a visit. Super nice staff that were very welcoming and sweet.
hotel saint vincent is a vibe. the aesthetic is sooo cute and charming, the staff is wonderful. I enjoyed my room. The beds are incredibly comfortable. My only complaint is the lighting, I wish it was brighter and there was more. It’s very sexy in the room LOL. The italian margarita is the best margarita i’ve ever had in my life. I did expect a little more for the rate but I enjoyed this property. Super happy I was able to experience it.
I didn’t actually stay here overnight. I was with a group who was, though, and they all seemed to enjoy it. My experience was as a participant in group events here, for which the even space was really nice. A large room with an area for our group to convene at tables with a nice coffee & juice bar and room for catering for breakfast & lunch items. All of the food we had, cooked by the hotel restaurant, was very good. The serving staff couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful. We visited the hotel bar a few times, as well. Again, all of the staff were very friendly. It is a small bar and they had a nice wine selection. Friends/colleagues ordered cocktails and all seemed to enjoy them very much. They sure looked pretty! I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.
A quick hike down Magazine street and we come to the most delightful courtyard. The cocktails were delightful. Well put together. The martini.....so damn smooth, each cocktail I had was adding on to the experience. They also have a burlesque show twice a month. I was too in love with the weather and my excellent cocktail to join the show. It was a perfect way to end the night. I'm going to look into an overnight stay.
The hotel was beautiful and exquisite; the room and amenities were top notch. Everyone's service was excellent. The shower didn't really seem to get hot at all; just a very mild lukewarm (maybe that specific room needs maintenance?). The only real snag was ordering room service; I called the front desk to order, who transferred me to the restaurant, who then told me they don't do evening service (the menu in our room said all day). I then walked down to the restaurant, who then told me to order room service at the bar. I ordered at the bar, and gave them my room number. When it arrived, the food was incomplete/prices incorrect. Apparently, the menu in our room was completely different from what was available. We returned the food and received a full refund, but by that time it was too late to get food from anywhere else on magazine street so we went to bed hungry. Beyond the disappointing room service experience, we enjoyed our stay, and would recommend Hotel Saint Vincent!
I feel like you will see reviews fall into three camps here. One will be about drinks and the ambiance of the hotel which is very charming. Others will be about the food. Our experience with that is that it’s strays from the MML standards that you find in Austin. The consistency is lacking and service levels vary. Food can be delayed without explanation or follow up. If you order to go, your order can sit unless you diligently follow up. Some days it is great - and what you would expect. This can be fixed. Finally reviews about the rooms. MML has put a lot into making this a spot to be in New Orleans but certain things need to be addressed like the hot water. Consistently when you take a shower there is 2-4 minutes of truly hot water. This is true across multiple rooms. This is magnified by the lack of a shower door as cool air comes in and is more noticeable when the water is mildly warm. Also, the bathroom doors are hard to close and it could use a vent for both the shower and if you are in there and want privacy. My wife was frustrated by the low lighting in the room as it’s hard to do your makeup properly. The rooms are small and but pricey. All in all, this is a nice trendy spot to be and there are lots of young folks here. I just don’t know if it’s where I would stay given some of the small details that are important - and when you can get a bigger place for less.
For an high class hotel that prides itself on providing relaxation, chef-prepared food paired with top shelf liquor and boutique soaps and shampoo in the rooms, all in an impeccably re-designed former orphanage, unique from top to bottom, I was surprised by the truly amateur mistakes and oversights at the Hotel Saint Vincent that left a markedly bad taste in my mouth. Things so glaringly obvious that it was really a huge question for me, could it be that this gorgeous place of unique beauty is run by someone with no business sense at all? The room was stunning. The bed and sheets were heavenly. The air-conditioning was perfection. But there was no trash can in the room. And after a day of traveling and sightseeing, spending time just being around, and using the breathtaking HSV as home base, we had some trash. Water bottles, snacks, tissues.. trash! So we had to just let it pile up on the gorgeous bar in the room. There wasn't even a trash can in the hallway. Or ice machine. Or anywhere to buy a Coke for less than $5. The following day we requested service, simply to remove the unsightly trash, though when we returned, the maid had kindly left all the trash, neatly piled up on the gorgeous in-room bar for us. I scooped it up in my arms and spied her cart in the hallway where I finally deposited what I had carried. By the time I returned with a second armful, she and her cart had vanished. Livid, I returned to the room. The following day we had a couple of drinks in the bar. Actually, we ordered in the Paradise Lounge and carried our drinks outside for privacy. My tequila neat and his rum and coke were $12 and $16 respectively. A little on the high side for house booze, but here is where I find the second completely inexcusable amateur mistake. I asked for a side of seltzer. The bartender gave me about 3 oz, room temp, and charged me $4 for it. You don't charge for the coke in rum and coke, why charge a guest paying $300 a night in a hotel, paying $16 a drink for well tequila straight up, for essentially, the mixer on the side? And the answer is that you don't, because it's the equivalent of nickel and diming high end travellers who clearly aren't afraid to spend money. I'm not against paying full price for a fantastic libation or even a special liqueur or congac, but already the bar is charging three times the price of the bottle in one drink and you have the audacity to charge me another $4 for water with bubbles because you CAN? It's insulting is what it is. Unfortunately these incidents and the horrible coffee (it took 45 minutes to get the following day at breakfast which was $75 for two plates with no alcohol) are what I am going to remember about the Hotel Saint Vincent. Yes, I will remember the stunning decor and beautiful art and design, but the shoddy service and sloppy discomfort are what I was hoping to avoid when I spent $1000 on a three day getaway with my husband.
Although the property had a nice vibe, our experience was marred by a shocking incident. Around 10 PM, as we were getting ready for bed, security suddenly pounded on our door and confronted us inside the room. It turns out the hotel had mistakenly assigned our room to someone else as well. They demanded to know who we were and how we got into the room. We explained we had checked in properly and were given a key—but they left without so much as an apology. The whole experience was unsettling and unprofessional. It made us question the security protocols and training of the staff. As frequent travelers, this kind of confusion and lack of accountability is unacceptable.
Very cool hotel with amazing history. Rooms were very clean, well appointed. Ours lacked lighting and a place to sit. One of the bartenders needs a lesson as to why they are working there. Snobby and inattentive = don’t want to hang out here. Also, turn on the heat in the lobby, it’s January.
This space is beautiful however truly some of the worst service I’ve ever seen. We were told to sit “wherever” and chose a table outdoors and were ignored/snubbed by a waitress no less than 4 times before giving up and moving to the inside cocktail bar, where several patrons were frustrated that they’d been waiting 30+ minutes or order. The most helpful staff member was the hostess, sadly. We left at 10 PM irritated and hungry. Don’t go if you’re actually looking for service.
This hotel is aesthetically beautiful and bar staff are lovely but that's about where it ends. Stayed here during my wedding. When we asked about an ironing board we were told (quite curtly) by the staff at reception "we might be able to find one" they seemed annoyed that we had the audacity to ask. Beds are uncomfortable which is surprising given the price. We weren't notified about a flea market happening in the car park the day of our check out and were lucky we JUST made it out before our car would have been unable to move. The clincher is months after my stay when myself and my credit card were in another country they made a fraudulent charge on it. This hotel is not trustworthy.
I had a reservation booked for two months. One week before the trip, I received email notification from the hotel that my reservation had been cancelled. I had not requested any cancellation. I have reached out to the front desk and multiple emails at MML Hospitality and I have gotten zero response. If the hotel is overbooked and they needed the room to accommodate an event, someone should have the decency to let me know that.
Food is crap, smallest hotel room of my life, the whole place smells like mold, the room service couldnt even do fries right, no handlea on bathroom door, terrible neighborhood, why on earth would anyone pay for this?
I too stayed here when it was a hostel. It was in the process of being sold when I was there, and I had a room and a bathroom to myself, and the cost was a fraction of what they charge now. This was indeed a children's asylum during the yellow fever outbreak, and as a hostel, the ambiance remained. You could truly believe the place was haunted! Finding out that the building had been gentrified was extremely disappointing. At least the exterior seems to have remained historic.
I stayed here several times before it was sold, several years ago. The new owners modernized it and ruined it, it longer has that new orleans feel, they jacked the prices to ridiculous rates for a place that is not even in the French quarter. But you get fancy sheets.
TREATED LIKE GARBAGE. My wife made a reservation for us here--we were very excited--back in November. This afternoon, 6 days before we're supposed to arrive, we received a message saying that they were CANCELING our reservation, because of a "buyout." No offer of assistance, let alone compensation. Plus that was clearly the "manager's" last task of the day, because our calls went straight to voice mail. A real lack of hospitality, for someone supposedly in the hospitality business.
A close family member passed away suddenly. The hotel refused to work with me. No credit, no refund absolutely nothing!! Completely unhelpful and unprofessional!! No hospitality whatsoever…. I had no control of the situation unfortunately and they 0 sympathy or regard for my situation..
We are in an aestheitcally lovely suite that lacked hot water in the shower. It took over an hour to get the shower fixed, and the engineer who finally fixed it wore boots in the bathroom and shower despite our request that he wear shoe covers. He offered to send housekeeping afterward, but no one came to clean despite our calls to follow up. As a result we wasted another hour of our day in a holding pattern before cleaning it ourselves. We paid around $1,800 for this room night that has been a source of stress, frustration and a waste of time. We have been offered nothing but sarcasm for our trouble. The engineer explained to me that the Austin-based hotel ownership is concerned with only the form and not the function of the building. He said that he fixes a lot of plumbing issues at this hotel because of lack of investment. He's not an employee. The hotel does not even employ a single engineer, he explained. The St. Vincent is the only hotel in the city that he knows of that does not filter the hard city water, and it causes problems like the one that has affected us. The front desk staff was maddening rude. I have not been to Dick's Last Resort but now I feel like I have; the attitude from the front desk staff here is so over the top that it would make a good bit. There is NO MANAGER on duty. It's a case study in how not to operate in hospitality. I wish I had read a review like this before booking here.
Hotel stay was lovely until we had an issue with the front desk. In all of my years traveling and staying at hotels, I have never experienced such poor customer service.
We must have had the holiday crew. Staff was rude and obviously did not want to be working. Front desk was rude both days, check in and check out. Bartenders in bar during the day were unenthusiastic and acted as if our group was a burden. Our last night we stopped into the restaurant late and were greeted with employees throwing a fit that we had come in 30 minutes before closing. Overall the hotel was a disappointment and I would never recommend it to anyone.
I just spoke with the front desk after my husband had already called. He surprised me with this trip, but he now has the flu with a 102° fever and we missed Thanksgiving with family because of it. I was hoping to talk to someone who could walk through options with me—whether that was a refund or even just rolling the reservation to another date. Before I could even explain the situation, I was told it was “non-refundable, no matter what.” When I expressed that it felt disappointing to have no flexibility or empathy given the circumstances, I was told I was “cussing” and the employee hung up on me. Because I said “ that’s pretty shitty” If this is how guests are treated from the start, I can’t imagine what the experience would be like once actually staying there. I understand policies exist, but to show zero understanding around illness is surprising. At this point, I wouldn’t feel comfortable rebooking or staying in the future. Just a warning the front desk person was entitled and rude and we will never be visiting the st Vincent and will be spreading the word to others as well. Extremely disappointing this is what the “hospitality” industry has turned into. Also, please take the time to review the other unhappy reviews from this hotel. They all reference the front desk and lack of management, which is not at all surprising considering the phone call I just had.
