Avis sur Krispy's Mexia
In almost 40 years weve never had anything close to a problem! Always fresh, always fast!
Not greasy, not over salted. Generous portions. Great food at good prices
Everything we had was good! Super fair price. Definitely going by there again when in Mexia!
Pretty popular place in the area. It was busy, but they have it figured out and the chicken was good. We had livers and gizzards and chicken stripe. They were all cooked to perfection. Livers and gizzards were not to salty or over seasoned. If I am in the area I will definitely get more chicken from here.
This was my first time their I got my order to go .I bought a 3 piece breast ND two thighs with mash potatoes and coleslaw..and a 3 piece breast leg and thigh with french fries and mashed potatoes... I'm impressed it's very good. Its like you fried it at home ...I definitely will go back. Fast service ND very polite next time I'll sit in and eat very family friendly.
I think I need to go to fried chicken rehab because when I want Jim’s Fried Chicken, I can’t even think straight until I get my fix. I live about a 25 minute drive from Jim’s and I make the much worthwhile trip to get my eat on. I’ve lived all over the country and I’ve traveled the US and abroad and this is the best fried chicken you will get at a great price. The staff is really friendly too.
I ate at Jim's Krispy Fried Chicken when my truck broke down and had to be towed to a nearby dealership. I will say that it was the silver lining to the whole ordeal. I loved the food and the service was outstanding. I don't normally come through Mexia on my travels, but I just might from now on.
Chicken was fresh Even tho it was time to close within 30 mins. I'm from Dallas, So I appreciated the Krispy Hot Chicken!!!
Anna Nichole Smith use to work there back in the days. I remember her there. The chicken has always been so good and I've been gone for my years and I sure do miss that restaurant
I hardly ever go to Jim's because I don't particularly care for the taste of their chicken. However I have heard that many of the people around here think that it is the best fried chicken place around. The service is typically fast and friendly, and the lobby has been clean every time I have visited thus far. In my opinion, the chicken they serve is on the smaller side, with a lot of crunch but not so much meat on the bone, and their chicken tenders are tiny. The overall cost of the chicken is too high, and this is why I would recommend frying chicken at home. This place is always packed during lunch and dinner so expect to wait 5-10 minutes at least.
What has happened to the Tues chicken finger 16 piece special? When I got home and opened my box (which I did notice was very light weight) I saw 16 pinky finger size chicken "fingers". The pieces did not even cover the bottom of box. Once upon a time the Tues special was a good deal with nice size pieces. Food is good, but come on Jim!! Pinky fingers?? Do better
I been coming for years and i always loved it but this is kinda ridiculous I had to go back for my sides that were left out just to realize as soon as i got home I didn’t get my 6 piece extra krispy just a basic 4 piece and this is one of the tenders next to their popcorn chicken. Next time I come I might adjust this review but my last few trips here have been really down hill.
d chicken is that quick meal that everyone loves. And from the reviews and number of people at the window its apparent that Mexian's love Jim's Krispy chicken. Location: This place has been around for a while and you can see it. you seem to be transported into a fried chicken place from the early 80s when you walk in. One of the windows was broken from an apparent rock projectile as I overheard but apart from that the place is what you expect from an old local spot. Service: The army of chicken peddalers behind the counter are needed to serve the high volume of customers they get. They are nice and efficient the way fast food workers should be. Food: I opted for one of their individual meals being the 3 peice 3 roll and 2 sides for around 9 bucks, you can choose to only get the 3x3 and skip the sides for only 5 bucks which I will do if I ever come back through. Mac and cheese: the macaroni was generously cheesy although the amount you get for what is essentially 2bucks is borderline passable. Mashed potatoes: now of course im not expecting grandma's secret Thanksgiving recipe from a small fast food place, but when conglomerate corporate franchise chains have significantly better mash than you somethings got to be done. I couldve forgiven what is unashamedly instant potatoes if there had been attempt to season them beyond just the gravy. The fact that they were barely even lukewarm did them in for me. Rolls: the rolls where good. Classic fried chicken yeast rolls with a good texture and warm. Much warmer than the mashed potatoes. Lol I'm sorry, I just cant get over bad mash that easy. Chicken: The star of the show, well somewhat. The chicken was cooked well, no doubt about that. It was very Krispy as the name implies and you do get the option to choose what type of peices you want. The only caveat was that they were just a tad bit oily. Now I'm no stranger to a good dose of fry grease but they couldve let them sit on the rack for just a couple more mins to let the oil dry off a bit more. Flavor wise, they where what you expect from a local town spot. Final thoughts: Fried chicken and rolls is what they are known for so just stick to those. This is that local town chicken spot to grab a meal for the whole family. The price point is good with just the chicken and you will get your fill. Just wish Anna was still playing around in the back. 🐇
I always order chicken breast and they always some how give me chicken thighs. Need to learn the difference thank you!
I ordered a snack pack with leg and breast..It was old as hell..Asked for fresh it looked like same dang old chicken.. Didn't give me fresh rolls or fries...What The Heck..
I went last night for my usual 2 peace mixed with a large sweet Tea. I was charged $14 got a small drink! The food isn't the same no flavor. Plus $14 for 2 peaces & fries and Small tea! Never again! Prices are crazy!
