Koori Visited Mar ~ Jun 2024, approximately 10 times During a long-term business trip to Mexico, I visited this place whenever I was craving Asian food. A place near the hotel where you can eat ramen, a favorite among Koreans. Notably, you can meet someone who looks exactly like Guus Hiddink, Korea's favorite soccer coach!! Food: I always order ramen. They top it with grilled pork belly. The mushrooms are especially delicious when simmered and eaten with the plain noodles. The vegetables are also plentiful, giving it a nice texture. I'm so grateful to be able to find this level of quality in Mexico. The sushi is delicious, but the portions are often too small. The nearby Japanese sushi restaurant definitely prepares sashimi better than Ojo Rojo. Atmosphere: Not too crowded, but not too empty. It's a quiet and cozy place to spend quality time with family, friends, and colleagues. Service: Expect standard service. It's so delicious that there's a 100% chance of returning again. Love tigre roll 😋
The ramen soup is amazing, and what I loved most is that it's not loaded with chop suey. The shrimp yakimeshi has plenty of shrimp, and the flavor is evenly distributed throughout the rice (not just the typical plain white rice underneath). The drinks are delicious, and while the place is a bit pricey, the food is worth every penny.
🍽️ Great place for lunch or dinner with an exclusive atmosphere. 🥢 A Japanese restaurant characterized by its high-quality food, exquisitely prepared dishes, a well-defined gastronomic concept, and first-class food for discerning palates. . The chef {Alondra Lemus} has extensive experience and extensive culinary knowledge. . We enjoyed an authentic Japanese meal, and their mixology was an art. My experience and rating: ✅ Carajillo was the best I've ever had. ✅ Tonkotsu Ramen was exquisite. ✅ Tostada Baja: Very fresh tuna, very exquisite. ✅ Sushi 🍣 Spicy Kanikama, very delicious ✅ Edamame and Shishitos, very delicious ✅ Excellent service, attentive waiter and waitress, and good service ✅ The prices may seem high, but they are appropriate for the quality and the area. The warmth of the staff makes the difference in this place and makes up for it all. I highly recommend this place 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Title: A Sushi Oasis in the Desert at Koori La Gran Via, Mexicali Koori La Gran Via in Mexicali is nothing short of a pleasant surprise. Nestled in the heart of the desert, this restaurant manages to deliver sushi that outperforms even some seaside establishments. The quality and freshness of the sushi here are undeniable. Every roll is meticulously crafted with the freshest ingredients, providing an explosion of flavors that is both delightful and unexpected. The food overall is very clean, demonstrating the restaurant's commitment to quality and health. The service at Koori La Gran Via is another feather in its cap. The waitstaff are friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Complementing the food and service, the beer here is always ice-cold, making it a perfect accompaniment to the sushi. Having dined here multiple times during my work trips in the area, I can confidently vouch for its consistency. Koori La Gran Via doesn't just get it right once; it consistently delivers, making it one of the best sushi places in Mexicali. In the midst of the desert, Koori La Gran Via serves up a culinary experience that's refreshing in its quality and authenticity. This is a must-try restaurant for any sushi lover and a testament to the fact that you can find quality seafood even miles away from the shore.
The staff was great, pretty patient and attentive. They took amazing care of our orders and never left dirty dishes around. The food is jut amazing, the ingredients were fresh and of great quality, so were as the drinks. Tokyo Lights. Refreshing drink with a strong cucumber flavor, the alcohol taste is very subtle so be careful having too many. Kawaii. Flavourful and refreshing, had to try it with vodka as they were lacking Gin atm.
Best sushi I've had in Mexicali/Imperial County. The fish is very fresh. Excellent coffee too.
I was there for breakfast, the service is good, the waitress kind and the meal delicious; the owner talked to me and explained me about future dishes; i will try to go for dinner, my friend -who invited me to meet this place- said to me that this is the right place for sushi.
The sushi tasted good, but nothing extraordinary for the prices. In general, everything on the menu is very expensive. Tuna tiraditos are over 500 pesos, and the portions are small. Other restaurants of the same caliber have more affordable prices. Furthermore, the service wasn't great. The waiter was very serious and unfriendly. The mixed drinks tasted good, but they were 165 pesos each, and one of them even had a slice of lemon with the label still on it! That means the lemon peel wasn't properly washed. We mentioned it to the waiter, and he practically ignored us. He never even tried to offer us another drink, not even an apology. The place is nice, but very small, with little space between the tables. The restrooms were clean, but there were no signs indicating men's or women's restrooms. Overall, I have no desire to return. I'd rather try any other restaurant in the area.
Food quality not great
The quality of the ingredients was really bad, it is really disappointing because I did like the cuisine before. The ingredients were fresh and good, now it seems like they cooked the two roll I ordered (tiger & rainbow) with old ingredients and the flavor wasn't close to compare as it used to be before.
The food was not that good
Like almost every place in the Golden Zone... The food is served in gourmet portions (one dish won't leave you full), it's for people with small stomachs. The prices are just as expensive as everywhere else... but more so. And if you're really hungry, don't go because the service is slow.
Worst ramen ramen soup I have had in a while. The place is not cheap and the quality is very low. Lemonade water with red fruits was very good.
I don't recommend is crazy expensive one roll is 18 dollars! Toast with a little piece of salmon with avocado 16 dollars!!👎👎👎always is empty, is not good for a sushi place!
Came to this restaurant twice, ordered tonkotsu ramen first, and Yakimeshi Ebi second, to-go. Food is merely ok, but communication is disastrous as I’m an English speaker. The same female waitress served me both times, and she made zero effort in trying to communicate…
Super expensive. Some of the fish was old and they didn't give me a discount or offer me something else after I told them that. Would not recommend.
