This place is really good! Tried the onigiri and the Karage. Both made fresh! There is only outdoor seating so I recommend calling ahead to order.
amazinggggg warm and filling onigiri i really hope this place doesnt close the owner is amazing ans hard working! everybody please check this place out!! authentic and delicious!! 🍙
Pork katsu curry and onigiris were great, it's a must try place. The have a lot of things you can't get anywhere in Miami.
This is a must if you're cycling on US1! The onigiri are so big and filling! I had the Peach Plumb Onigiri and felt so satisfied. I'm only now exploring the various types of Onigiri and found the Peach Plumb to be rather salty so I'm excited to try the other selections. It would also be exciting to see some fresh desert options, like melonpan, bean buns, or manju. If the regular food is good, I can only assume their desserts would be great too. The shop has outdoor seating which is fantastic, although it is bombarded with the nearby highway traffic noise, it's not the shop's fault. Cycling on US1 is a great way to get to this shop if you're coming from the south. There's even bike parking in the neighboring shop! Definitely a cycle pitstop with friendly shop keepers!
Very hole in the wall spot in all the best ways. Very low price (especially for the quality) and the food was a total hit. Mostly a take out place but there are picnic benches outside if you wanna eat there too
I am so glad that Cafe Oriental exists. I am a true fan of Japanese food and culture and can honestly say this is one of the best Japanese Kitchens in the city. True Authentic Japanese food delivered in a very casual setting. Prices are fair, quality is amazing, staff is so friendly. Overall 10/10
AMAZING, fresh tasty flavors in everything I ordered. The plum and salmon onigiri were delicious and the shrimp noodles were so yummy. The chicken ramen was also so good! Will be back
I enjoy the food from this place, my favorite dishes are the chayote salad and katsu curry bowl. The only thing I wish they had is inside searing. You can eat outside or pick up
Amazing hospitality! The owners are great and attentive and the food was amazing. Everything we tried was a great pick and great value. Will come back again! Definitely the best karage I’ve had! Update: Since last time i came, I’ve been here 3 times in the span of a week cus its such an amazing spot, I love everything in their menu and the onigiris are special ♥️😭
Selina & Juan are wonderful people who truly care about giving there customers a healthy and enjoyable meal that makes them wanting to come back for more. And they certainly did that for me! Specials change, so always ask and don't be afraid to try something new!! Ill be back next time Im in Miami for sure! Please support this local Miami based business.
My grandpa is Japanese. I moved here to Miami this year and I cannot tell you the grief I got from eating this food as it's the same as my grandpa's. Now I will be traveling this year to visit again. It's so good. I saw the pictures and I knew it's real. Excellent chef and customer service. Thank you we enjoyed very much.
Extremely delicious. It very much has that “home made” authentic taste. Also, the staff was super nice. What a nice experience. Cant wait to visit again! Hughly recommended
Lovely spot! Ramen was great. The pork katsu was a little bit dry but still pretty tasty. The price is also good! Oh they only have take out option but feel free to dining at the outside table. We had lunch and enjoy the sunshine

I was really craving onigiri for lunch today and decided to get on Postmates to see where I could find onigiri (if not I would have to wait to go home and make some for dinner). Fortunately, I found Cafe Oriental. I played it safe and got the salmon onigiri and the unagi onigiri. WOW. I was soooo pleasantly surprised. It was DELISH!!! They onigiri arrived still warm, the seaweed was doing its thing, & the quality of the salmon and unagi was really good! I added a little soy sauce and sriracha (my preference) and I’ll tell ya, it was the best lunch I have had in a while! This is now my new onigiri spot and luckily it’s near my job & home! I no longer need to travel 45 min for some onigiri 🍙 I’m so happy to find this spot! 10/10 on salmon and unagi onigiris! Bonus: the little stickers on the onigiri packaging made my day (I had to save them)
Having passed this place numerous times, thanks to the RAMEN sign outside, we’d intended to try it out some day. Then, having seen the consistently outstanding reviews, we finally made it here. We had the Shoyu Ramen, Onigiri rice balls, and gyoza dumplings. All are tasty, and rich in flavor. Cafe Oriental Asian Kitchen is truly delicious. This is a super casual place where focus is on the food and connecting with the people who own and run the restaurant. It’s perfect. Come here and you’ll love it.
Onigiri was large and great - they tape theirs closed on the sides I didn't have the gyudon or ramen but our friends said they were great Karaage, chayote salad, takoyaki, curry croquette were all delicious Yakisoba was ok No seating inside Tables outside Parking outside
My husband and I came across this place while walking our puppy, wow, their ramen is amazing. We’ve had ramen in Japan and Hawaii and it’s just as good. Definitely coming back to try their other dishes yum!
I just ordered their Ramen. It was delicious! We just love this little restaurant. If you are looking for real Japanese food, come here!
Just got finished eating Ramen from here for the first time and just had to share my experience which i rarely do. The Kimchee Ramen was delicious!!! perfect amount of spice and flavor. What did it for me the most here was hostess who was so kind and helpful and even came out to bring out food in the rain. Will definitely be coming back soon 😁
The ramen here is authentic and well done. The owners are super nice and you can tell they care about the food they serve. I haven’t found another Japanese restaurant in this city that I would go to over this one.
Only went in for a couple of onigiri as a snack and thoroughly enjoyed them. The (cooked) salmon was good, but the star was the chashu which I loved. They're made to order which is nice, and appropriately wrapped so the nori doesn't get damp. Would like to go back to try other items (and get another chashu onigiri).
Not only is the food authentic and fresh, but the owners are very attentive and welcoming. I discovered this place by accident; however, it is a must go and if you're looking to try out a different, delicious Asian cuisine this is the place to go!
Best ramen in Miami! My favorite is their Shoyu ramen. Our family loves this place and we order quite often. Quality of food and service are always top notch!
Best place in Miami to get Onigiri, really good quality, the only con is that there isn’t really a place to sit since the benches outside have no shade.
By far the best Japanese I've had in the area. You can tell that everything is made with the utmost care, and that the people behind the food are dedicated to what they do. I became a fast regular after my first experience with them.
We recently moved to the neighborhood and we are so glad that we found this hidden gem! Fried oyster is a must try! Ramen is a bit salty but everything else we tried were tasty. Service was amazing.
one word: onigiri!!!!! my favorite place to pick up those snacks, chicken katsu is also delicious. plus they sell mochi and other treats
I’ve gone here a bunch now and have never been disappointed, quality is consistent and absolutely delicious every time I have it! I keep trying new things and keep loving them, have to try this place!
Omg!!! You must eat here. Cute small mom and pop place. We had spicy I know it's a Edamame ,spring rolls and chicken fried rice. All so fresh and delicious. Will be back soon!!!! Yum well done.
Outstanding and authentic Japanese food. They use the highest quality ingredients and are very generous with their portions. Although they don’t have inside dining, the service is very good.
The best service and food in south Miami! The chef and hostess are so kind and helpful. The food is super flavorful and they are both very thoughtful! For example, they always remember us and give us extra spices and a sample of a new appetizer to try! Love love love this place!
Literally one of my favorite places to eat. Staff are incredibly friendly and always make the most delicious dishes. Best Curry I've ever had.
This is a gem! The owner, a sweet and nice lady. Explained the menu and suggested her best food. It is a take out place but she (sorry I did not get her name) has some tables outside on the side garden. You should try it. There is authentic homemade oriental food. The simplest dish, the spicy edamame was so delicious. Grilled edamames with chili oil and salt. Yum!
Me and my dad first saw the establishment when we just searched up; “good restaurants near me” and this one appeared. It stood out from all the others due to the photos of great and elegant foods, but also the shining 5 star status. Soo.. yeah, we went there and it was a nice homey place with 2 lovely employees and some great food. The Asian soda was great, and the food was amazing. The desert was great and super delicious.
The place is wonderful I had to go back a couple of times for a week to try out their Onigiri and it is wonderful... The Ramen is super flavorful no issues and I also tried the Pork Yakisoba just wow... I will be coming back! The staff is so lovely they make sure your meal was up to standard and always making sure you are comfortable! 100% recommend.
Amazing service, the ramen was very rich and creamy. I normally don’t like pork belly because of the taste but here it was amazing. One of the few places with properly done Onigiri and Takoyaki. The people are amazing and always checked up on me and my partner. Definitely recommend to anybody in the area because it is an experience and I hope this place gets more business.
Tried the place out after a couple of recommendations from friends, Boy was it worth it. I haven't been to a lot of places that sell japanese onigiri and when I heard that they make it by hand here I was excited. All of the food was delicious and the owners are extremely enthusiastic about what they make, constantly asking for opinions and ways to Improve which is great during tough times like this. Definitely coming back with friends and family!
Please boost this cafe! They are planning on closing next year, we wouldn't want to lose an authentic trend.
This place is amazing. The staff was so sweet we came in early and they let us in early to take our order. And since it was hot outside she set us up a little table. It was a very small place but it had amazing food . The lady that served us was amazing, attentive, friendly. We talked to her the whole time. The chicken karage is delicious. The kimchi ramen is one of the best I’ve had.And the BBQ unagi or eel onigiri was excellent. Though it needed a bit more filling it was still divine.
If you're looking for some delicious and affordable onigiri, this is the place. Took my gf on a date here and we both loved it. They also have great vegan options (I recommend the pickled plum onigiri). We were served by Selina, who was so hospitable and offered us great service. Definitely coming back and bringing some friends!!!
Delicious. Highly recommend! Do yourself a favor and check this place out. I can still taste the fresh ginger. The owners are so friendly and always have a smile for you. The Kimchi Ramen is not to be missed. Fantastic lunch special bento boxes. Great price.
So glad I finally found an authentic Japanese kitchen. Every other ramen I’ve had in Miami pales in comparison to the goodness I just basically inhaled. Besides the exquisite ramen, I also delighted in the Onigiri (handball rice dishes). It seemed like they were taken directly out of an anime, lots of variety too. The location itself is incredibly humble. Some outdoor benches, but nothing special, definitely seems to thrive with takeout. But this humble place, with its generous staff, fair prices, and PHENOMENAL food will definitely have me coming back. Do yourself a favor and come here already.
Juan the chef and his wife are lovely and so nice. He's is also a very.talented chef. Best lightest tempura I have ever had. Everything is delicious, I highly highly recommend. A great find without a doubt.
The onigiris are so so good! I also had the karaage and fried tofu, I would not recommend ordering those to go as they should be eaten fresh. I made that mistake but they were still delicious! Can't wait to go back again.
The food is incredible. The service is phenomenal. It doesn't appear to be great from the street, but don't be fooled. The amazing woman that took our order and made us a place out of the rain to eat, was so kind and helpful. Great experience for my family.
Love this place, little Japanese hole in the wall. They have excellent onigiri which really you’re not finding anywhere else within 100 miles of Miami.
Amazing food and sweet owners. We loved our kimchi ramen and gyoza. The Ramen had the perfect balance of flavors. The boiled egg on top was heavenly. Tempera Oreos were not something we would normally order but omg, so glad we tried them. Delicious!!!!
My favorite place to pick up onigiri! Have also tried other snacks such as their croquettes and karaage and all are so delicious and made with love.
Absolutely superb little restaurant, the staff is lovely and the food is unparalleled. I've been to a lot of places with similar options around SoFlo & the world and this is one of the best spots to visit. My SO in New Jersey always requests I bring the Salmon Onigiri north if she isn't able to have them locally, and the ramen & katsu is the best around. Thanks Cafe Oriental 🤙
AMAZING hidden gem! I lived near Cafe Oriental for almost a year before a friend happened to ask about it. I’ve ordered from them almost once a week since then. Their Onigiri Ube is 😘👌. Their ramen gives you all the warm and fuzzies. I have yet to order something from CO that I do not LOVEEEEE.
Best ramen we have had in miami!! Totally recommend. We had the Ton-Kotsu Ramen and 3 onigiris (Ume, Unagi, and Chashu) The owners were super friendly and welcoming! Thank you :) We well definitely be back soon.
Absolutely delicious. The broth was creamy and rich. The takoyaki was replete with octopus. The shrimp shumai was bursting with shrimp chunks. A very kind couple that runs this spot were kind enough to share some homemade kimchi and that was vinegary deliciousness. If you're going to spend some money, do it here and both you and your tummy will be happy and you will be supporting a family business.
i love this place so much! the owner is the sweetest lady i’ve ever met. she goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable to eat the best food ever made by her husband. the food is amazing! i totally recommend this place to anyone who wants to eat great food.
This place is a hidden gem! The lady who runs the shop is so kind. The food is freshly made and it is so good! It has basic tasty Japanese cuisine. A cute mom and pop shop that should be supported.
Absolutely amazing food, must have in miami
Scrumptious spot. Makes me miss Japan even more, but glad that we get to have our little slice of Japan here in Miami. 🥲 mainly for takeout. But they do have some tables outside.
love the onigiri (plenty of options, my go-to is the ikura), karaage, and the katsu curry, both pork and chicken are delicious!
The food it’s incredible, all the products are fresh, the attention es pretty good, I love here and eat all the food 🥰
Place is so quaint, feels authentic. Love the onigiri, will be back!
Fried Chicken Onigiri was phenomenal!!! Super fresh and delicious
Delicious food and amazing service! Highly recommend coming here and trying several things on the menu!
Had the yummiest Onigiris at Cafe Oriental. Wonderful service, too! 1000% recommended.
Heard about this place and that it won Miami New Times best Japanese food. Happens to be by my neighborhood so I ordered takeout. Absolutely delicious food, true Japanese and the sweet owner is just adorable. I will definitely be ordering from here frequently. I must try for everyone!!
The best traditional Japanese food in Miami! They pay attention to details, fresh ingredients and a great selection make with love. The “secret” menu is one of the best culinary experiences you will have in your life. I will eat here every day, this place will chance your perception of the Japanese food, forget the sushi and try their curry!!!!
The curry katsu chicken and the onigiri was phenomenal. Best katsu and Japanese curry I’ve ever had.
This place is an absolute gem. The onigiri rice is cooked perfectly, the fillings are excellent ( the karaage, chashu pork, fried oyster , all great ) , the karaage is wonderful, the deep fried shumai is phenomenal, the curry they make is ridiculous, basically everything they make is SOLID. The prices are beyond reasonable and the family that works there is super sweet. Big recommend!
The onigiri is delicious, we ordered the eel and salmon and couldn't put them down. The kimchi soup was so good it made me feel so cozy. Oh and the Curry Croquette! To die for! Definitely coming back!
Cafe Oriental is a must-visit in Miami! Their gyoza is delicious, but the onigiri is the real star. I’ve tried several flavors and loved them all, but the Tuna with QP Mayo and the Cooked Salmon are my absolute favorites. They stay so fresh that I often buy extra for lunch the next day! The service is always great and friendly, too. Highly recommend!
THE FOOD WAS AMAZING! It truly has that homemade touch, made with the perfect ingredients and so much care absolutely delicious. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and warm, clearly made to order. I would 100% come back. I tried the onigiris and they were an absolute dream so flavorful, comforting, and perfectly made. You can really taste the quality and love in every bite.
Great atmosphere! Food was amazing couldn’t have had a better experience! I was helped by Selina she was wonderful, she had such a great attitude and a great work ethic I can tell she loves her job and making sure the customers have a great experience. If your thinking about coming here I’d 100 percent recommend going!
The onigiri is so good! I tried the ume and the unagi, and both were excellent. The shrimp dumplings were also great. Will be going back soon

Take out mostly small place big flavors a bit pricy sule nice staff
Tonkotsu and Shoyu Ramen were very good. The staff was very friendly. The curry croquette was small for the price and also needed more improvement. The food overall was slightly overpriced, mainly because the location does not include inside diningg. However, the food was delicious and pleasant to the eyes. The place is small, so you either eat outside or do take out. Closer to authentic Japanese food in Miami.

Take away only that serves great food. The vegetable chow mien was great, as was the egg drop miso soup. The fried tofu wasn’t so great though, wii oí ups advise you avoid. All else was excellent. Friendly service too.
The food here is really good. I had the curry croquette (tasted great, but expensive), Onigiri Chashu (tasted great, but barely any filling) and Ton-kotsu Ramen (tasted great also, loved the chashu pieces, but overall the ramen was a bit on the salty side). The staff was really friendly and nice. Its a nice place overall.
Food was great ! Portions were a good size,Glad we ordered. Will be back again! Ramen broth was pretty salty but well balanced once added noodles & other ingredients. Veggie stir fry was a great meal.
No gimmicks! Those authentic flavor and quality of homestyle cooking warm my heart. The Ramen soup flavor is spot on. Shoyu egg was perfectly prepared and full of flavors. Kimchi tastes legit! Definitely not mass produced stuff. I am very happy that I found this place.
So honestly I’m gonna start off review as I had a better hopes for this place it seems very nice and I really like the selection of the food I’m excited to try the curry in the future because I am willing to try it and I feel like the food was good but it wasn’t worth the price $70 for a takoyaki and two bowls of Ramen that were not the best Ramen honestly wasn’t worth it so I won’t consider getting Ramen from this place again. The shoyu Ramen broth was very nice it was like a light meal and it was enjoyable but the kimchi Ramen was more so the broth was like OK it wasn’t something to read about and kind of hoping we got a curry or some on gui instead. The takoyaki was a nice appetizer or snack. Overall the price was absolutely bonkers for us.
