Great food at the new version of Mario’s Cuban Restaurant in Homestead! Everything was tasty and beautifully prepared. The decor is perfect and captures the Latin vibe so well. We’re so happy and excited to have it in our town. Special thanks to Lisandra for her excellent service!

The new building is very nice! Service was good although expectedly a bit slow since they are so busy. Food was good as well, highly recommend the Mario Board! Prices seemed appropriate for the quality of food/experience. Would recommend if you are looking for a little bit nicer dine in experience. Will definitely return 👍👍👍

The New Mario’s Cuban Cuisine is a refreshing atmosphere for our Homestead locals. It features outside dining, a wonderful bar, and lots of comfortable seating. The drinks are specially designed and have a unique twist, the food is fresh, prepared with love! Come and experience the New Mario’s Family Restaurant you won’t be disappointed!!

The food was amazing and large portions! The server was so sweet and kind! We can’t wait for the new building to be done! Food comes out fresh and fast! We had the empanadas, croquettes, sweet plantains & churrasco steak! The fresh squeezed orange juice was to die for and their Cuban coffee was amazing. Will be back every time we visit Florida.

We dined at Mario’s, the Cuban restaurant in Homestead, and had a really pleasant experience. The ambiance is warm and inviting, and the staff were very helpful, taking the time to explain the menu so we could make our choices with ease. The food was cooked perfectly and full of flavor, just the way we like it. The standout dish was the whole fried snapper, beautifully presented standing upright on the plate. It looked incredibly appetizing, though we found it a bit too dry – perhaps that’s simply the traditional preparation style. Another plus is the ample parking space, which makes the visit even more convenient. Overall, we really enjoyed the place and would happily return again.

This restaurant closed its old location and reopened in a brand-new, modern space — and it’s amazing! They kept the same delicious flavors everyone loved, but the new place feels fresh, stylish, and very welcoming. The addition of the bar is a huge upgrade, with excellent cocktails. I tried the margaritas, and they were honestly the best I’ve had in all of Homestead, FL. Highly recommend visiting — same great taste, even better experience!

I loved this place 😍 I went for coffee con leche ☕ and toast and ended up getting some bread pudding also. I've never had anything like it. It to me was more like soaked pound cake with a molasses caramel on top. The service was great and it was conveniently close to hotels and other stores on the main road. I'd be there all of the time if I lived in Florida! Hopefully I will be coming back soon so I can get more coffee!

First timer with family. Dined outside. GREAT service and food. My wife never had a cuban sandwhich before and she really liked it. I took a few bites ( it was huge) and really enjoyed it. I had the skirt steak which was terrifc and the herb sauce it came with was superb. KIds were happy so life was good. Would definately eat here again.

I can’t say how much I enjoyed this meal. I actual broke my diet. I saw the steak lay there, a slab of Cuban pride, seared just enough to lock the juices inside, its center still blushing pink like the dawn over Havana. The grill had kissed it with dark, crisscrossed lines, a map of heat and time, and the meat gave under the knife with a sigh, tender but defiant. Chimichurri clung to it—sharp, green, alive—a tangle of parsley and garlic, spiked with lime that cut through the richness like a machete through cane. Onions, raw and bold, wept their bite into the sauce, a faint crunch against the velvet of the beef. Each bite was a dance: the salt of the earth, the tang of the tropics, the slow burn of something ancient and true. It was not just food—it was the island itself, pressed hot and fragrant onto the plate. Then came the tres leches, a quiet rebellion against the steak’s fire. The cake was pale, soaked through, heavy with three milks that pooled beneath it like sweet rain on a Havana street. It trembled under the fork, cool and wet, the cream sinking into every crumb until it dissolved on the tongue—soft, rich, a whisper of vanilla that lingered like a woman’s laugh in the night. The top glistened, kissed with a thin sheen of sugar, and it was not dry, not ever, but alive with the weight of its own drowning. Beside it, the Cuban coffee steamed in a small cup, black as tar, strong as a fisherman’s grip. Three Splendas stirred in, cutting the bitter edge, turning it smooth and sweet without apology. It hit hot, a jolt through the chest, the roast deep and dark like the soil under the palms. The steak, the cake, the coffee—they stood together, fierce and tender, a meal that was Cuba itself: the fight, the sweetness, the unyielding pulse of life poured out under the sun. Go!! If you want Cuban. If you want a good steak!

The best dining experiences we had in the Miami area. They are well known for their cuban sandwiches, and you should order one during your visit. I also tried their other popular items: beef empanada and congris. The servers were very nice. They spent time understanding our requests, and provided helpful suggestions. They also checked how we're doing, and whether we need anything. We didn't get such great service anywhere else in the Miami area (Fort Lauderdale, Miami Beach, Homestead and Islamorada) and we were pleasantly happy.

The real star of the show, however, was Helen, our server. Her friendly personality and attentiveness made the dining experience even more enjoyable. She was happy to answer questions about the menu and even offered recommendations based on our preferences. Overall, Mario's is a fantastic spot for a delicious and welcoming Cuban dining experience. Had the smaller order Churasco skirt steak. It came with two sides so I got congri (rice and black bean mixture) and fried plantain. The steak came with onion and red pepper and paired well with steak. I liked the chimichuri since it was rather mild so as to not over power the steak. Meal was delicious and waitress was nice and attentive as needed. I had eaten here previously about 8 years ago. I was still impressed with the food today.

We have and amazing time as always here. Today Miriam was our server and she went beyond our expectations, not only bringing my fries super crispy as I requested but her customer service was excellent. I went to Mario’s for the first time and was pleasantly impressed. Firstly, the croquettes are made in-house and really good. They are bigger than you might think as well. Speaking of bigger, the portions are generous and could feed two people if you’re not starving. Lastly, the desserts seem to be also made in-house (not sure if they are). I had the flan and I have no complaints. Overall, it’s likely the best spot for Cuban food in the area and doesn’t hurt when it comes to paying. Inexpensive, delicious, and filling!

All I can say is everything is so beautiful on the inside the presentation of the food, the service was literally 10/10 the menus are iPads where you can look through all the different items to choose from I saw some new items as well! Most of all everyone was dressed so nice with uniforms and aprons. The food came out fast with 20 minutes! I mean I had not one negative thing to say! I’m so happy this place has upgraded because we needed this here in homestead!

N
Natalia Tovar

New place is amazing had a great time, food took long but understandable it was busy and it’s new everyone wants check it out, but food is the same good quality and sazón the portions of the sides are somewhat larger. I definitely think is worth the few more cents they’ve added to the pricing. had the luck to have Belen as my server she’s been the best service I’ve had at Mario’s so far, made sure my cup was always full, even if the food was taking long she made sure to keep checking in with us very nice, friendly, welcoming and beautiful smile over all a pretty good experience.

10/10 to be 100% honest everything was good from the atmosphere to the service down to the food, I got a skirt stake with congris and boiled yuca it was delicious and a pretty moderate piece I got to take some of it home they’re chocolate cake was really good and chocolatey the owners def made a great decision with the new look and bar, Belen was my server for the night and just to say she was amazing is understatement ! Everything was exceptional. Will definitely be back

Their chicharon is great. Their meat is good as well, as expected from a Cuban restaurant. The chicken cordon blu is okay but nothing super special about it. I ordered for a melon juice and was given a watermelon juice. But it’s a must try still if you are a fam of cuban cuisine. Their side dishes are gigantic.

Only getting 3 stars because of how bad the service was. Love the new look and great touch with the iPad menus. Food was delicious and had lots to choose from. The only thing that was disappointing was the service. It wasn't crazy busy and we decided to eat outside. Took awhile for someone to come over but then it just got worse. Finally got our food and never saw the server again. Had to flag down the manager because there was an issue with the temperature of our steak. Eventually another server came over and I am guessing the server just left but overall bad impression. Could of told us or we should of been sat elsewhere if that server was leaving soon. Not sure if I will return unless the service gets better. Very disappointed. I expected better.

Our server was good & the food came quickly. The main items were very tasty, but the temperature of the food, especially the congri & maduros, was room temperature. On the website, it said that the restaurant had a happy hour. We were hoping to relax with a drink before dinner, but when we got there there, there was no happy hour and the only alcohol they had was beer and wine. The margarita that is on the menu is a low alcohol mix.

went to lunch with the family. resturant was clean and staff friendly. atmosphere was ok. the waitress spoke fair english, but did try to get the answers to our questions. the order did not come quite correct, but my sil did not say anything. rice was salty, plantain was good, thchicken dish with chimichurri was ok. the kids did not like the hamburger/ cuban burger. they couldn't seem to understand to do the kids cheese burger but without the cheese. they did the adult burger/cuban burger. the empanada was ok and the fried cheese cheese was ok. overall all we wouldn't go again. sorry about the photos, . i always forget to do it till we have already eaten

The food looks delicious, but, the arroz con pollo lacks flavor. The chicken was good but the rice was very bland. I was disappointed, I would never order this dish again. I hope the owner/cook improves the flavor of the rice. Also, it would be nice to hear Cuban music playing in a Cuban restaurant.

The food was alright. I didn't like the stuffed potatoe it tasted and looked microwaved.there Was alot of flies. The waitress was sweet and Kind suggested The skirt steak to my husband and he love it , I had porkchop and yuca it was really good. We sat next to a loud annoying family , the little boy kept touchibg and scatching my back so I didn't enjoy the visit but that was not the staff or restaurants fault.

I just got my Mario’s delivered tonight and I can’t believe how inedible This food is. It’s so bad that I just have to post photos. The steak is hard and chewy, and way over cooked..... at least my cat likes it. HORRIBLE UPDATE: I took the food back and they remade it. At least the customer service was good.

I don't know where all these 4 and 5 star reviews are coming from. Obviously Homestead has not had proper Cuban food. So in a nutshell, new building, same blah food. The new place is nice. Electronic menus, more seating, a bar, etc. Parking sucks but I'm sure it will improve once demo of old building is done. So onto the food. I had the breaded steak with white rice and fries. Breaded steak is one of those staple Cuban items. My breaded steak was clearly frozen and pre-made. How can one tell? first off, it was rectangular. Ever seen a rectangular steak? Next thing was the outside was crisp yet inside was kinda wet. That's frozen breading for ya. The rice was fine (that's really hard to screw up) and my fries were missing in action. They showed up later. The wife ordered vaca frita, congri, and maduros. 404 - congri not found (they ran out). Imagine that, a Cuban place running out of congri (that's rice and black beans cooked together). That's like Little Ceasar's running out of crazy bread. In the end, she just had to settle for white rice and black beans. Guess what? That black beans were "stretched". In other words, watered down with some spices added to try to back fill the lacking taste. This is what happens when real Cubans visit a Cuban restaurant... we know the shenanigans. Big giant Cuban mural on the wall yet serving watered down black beans. Jose Marti is spinning in his grave. The Cuban sandwich was ok. We sat at the center half booth/half table row so we had diners on either side of us. The folks on one side ordered the frituras appetizer. Half of them were sitting on the plate untouched. We asked them how were the frituras? They said "ok" with little enthusiasm. They never finished them. On the other side the couple called for the manager. Guy ordered a pollo a la plancha and got what looked like a chicken strip. He was not amused. Service was scatter brained. Tons of staff running around but something was amiss. There was plenty of staff so it wasn't a shortage. Staff was literally zooming around, and so was the manager yet service was meh. For this they had the nerve to list a 30% tip option on the bill. For 30% tip I better get the Hokey Pokey Dance and a free coffee. All in all, I'm disappointed. I thought this place would turn around but it's a shiny new building with the same mentality running the kitchen. Cuban food is soul food. It's not hard to do if you're not being stingy.

At the new Marios location today Sunday 3/1/26, and I am very disappointed. I am a customer of the old Marios and wanted to try the relocated new Marios restaurant. It was nice inside with a new full bar but I found the lights a little too dark for my taste. The food definitely not as good in flavor as the old restaurant and the Portions shrunk significantly and prices went up as expected. Hate to say this, but that’s the last time they’ll be seeing me there.

We ask for a lechon asado and we got fried slices of pork, nothing even closed to what we asked for. Prices are high for the quality of food which is not the best.Congri wasnt mixed properly, more white than black on it really ugly and unflavored.I asked for a vaca frita sandwich and they brought it in a soft type of bun bread that didn’t hold the meat or taste any good together. Overall is overpriced, food , low quality, not worth the visit if you know what cuban food is.

We used to go to the old Mario’s so I can compare the 2 locations. The space is beautiful, though it feels dark and claustrophobic. I like the option of the bar. I have to honestly say the food portions are much smaller. The prices have definitely gone up. The taste of the food went down. I had chicken breast dinner, which I’ve ordered many times before and was disappointed in portion and taste. My husband had vaca frita (shredded beef) and it was dry with no flavor. The only thing that tasted good was my daughter’s pork chunks dinner. We will not be coming back for a long while. By the way, the service was just ok.

A
Aaron Rodriguez

The place is beautiful and service and drinks were great but the food was disappointing. The appetizer bacalao was over cooked and inedible (returned). The pollo milanesa was bland and room temperature that the "melted" cheese was solid even though it looks a little burned, not too mention the tostones were small and stale.

L
LeAnn Harness

We got there about 40 minutes before closing. The waitress was not very friendly. She was pushy about us ordering quickly. She stood at our table waiting for us to order. I felt rushed and ordered a sandwich quickly. It was mostly lettuce and tomato with a think piece of meat. The flavor was okay. The beer taps were all out of order so we just had water. I would go back and try again during the daytime hours.

Yesterday we went to the restaurant for the first time, and it was a truly uncomfortable visit. It became clear to me that it's a classist environment; I say this because you're treated according to how you look (I was coming from the beach, so my attire was casual). No makeup or sophisticated clothes. When we entered with my family, it was obvious; it showed on their faces and in their stares. Even though there was space in the center, they seated us near the bar. The waitress was rather impolite. The food arrived, but my companion had to wait 10 minutes for it. In short, that night was the first and last.

I have been at Marios (old building) plenty of times. Always had an amazing experience. However, yesterday my wife an I decided to explore the new Mario’s building. The building is beautiful, well decorated. But, the service was horrible! Servers are poorly trained. We wait 30 minutes to be greeted at the table, server was mad, food took forever. The taste of the food was meeee and cold. We were never offered water. At the end, when we decided to pay, the server gave us the credit card machine and keep staring at me to see if tips will be added. What a bad experience! Will not go back until service improve!

We moved to the area about 1 year ago. We wanted to try this spot because of their positive reviews. Well don't make the same mistake we did. Many people rate a restaurant based purely on prices. This place is affordable however is the worst Cuban food I've ever eaten. What they call "Lechon Asado" it is NOT. It is simply an over cooked pork steak then chopped up, very dried and not tasty at all. The Pollo Empanizado was tastles and dried to the point that it was inedible. The white rice was over cooked and the black beans again zero flavor. The platanitos Maduro were average. Nothing great but not bad. The Yuquitas Fritas not bad but nothing to be proud of. The Beef Empanada was horrible. You could tell that it wasn't freshly baked/fried and the beef picadillo stuffing was pretty tasteless. The tequeño was mediocre. The service however was OK but not enough to even get them a 2 star rating. The place looks antiquated and dirty. The were a few flies around us. (We were sitting inside) I normally don't post such negative reviews. But in this case I felt I had to because I don't want you to get deceived but the reviews like I did. Remember many many many maybe way too many customers rate a business because it is cheap. I rather pay 3 times as much for a better quality meal. Take a look at the fotos I posted

I have never in my life had such bland non seasoned Cuban food! I saw so many people coming in and out and was excited to taste my meal and was highly disappointed in the way the chicken was not seasoned it was as if they put it on the grill with no salt or pepper and the pork chunks was extremely dried out. I feel extremely dissatisfied by the way the food tasted and wonder was no effort put in on purpose. I live no where homestead so I will never visit this spot again but good to know not to come here again if I am ever in town

I arrived at 12:10 and right away the girl at the front got me a table, at 12:30 none had come to my table to at least take the order or bring water to the table. 20 minutes sitting at the table without receiving any service. I got up and left, I won’t be able to rate the food.

I ordered Food through Uber eats. I got no utensils to eat my food and mostly onions and almost no chicken and the chicken was really dry! I’m at work so I had to eat my food with my hands!!! I won’t ever order from this place again.

I ordered from here because of the reviews and the rating that it has but the food was horrible. All 3 orders of chicken were over cooked and super dry. But the worst had to be the picadillo I would have done better opening a can of dog food and eating it. Thus place is over rated stay away.

When you take out food 9 out of 10 something is missing in your order. You must checked bag before you leave the counter. The people that work there are very rude!

Horrible service I Ask for 2 pan con bistec and I asked for only cheese the little chips and mayonnaise, and they put everything on the sandwich when you called to speak to the manager she was super nice when I picked up my food The two women and the back counter were really nasty. I asked Them why am I paying extra when the Sandwiches are $10.95 Plus tax and my order comes out to $28. Then I called to speak to the manager again and the girl inside the restaurant is being very nasty to me. And telling me, so what do you want for me? What do you want me to do like I’m sorry, but the customer service here sucks and I honestly would be going to this restaurant again and I went to this restaurant since I was a kid horrible, horrible Customer Service.

Due to experience, I kept wondering how changed Mario's would be once the new one opened. Numerous have been the times when something is 'upgraded' and rather than improving, it seldom works out and ends up being worse than the original. So today I visited the new Mario's for the first time to test my theory. Right off the bat, parking way in the back of the property and having to walk towards the entrance was the first turn off. Granted I later learned that additional parking would be available closer to the entrance (remains to be seen). Walking into the place was like walking into any one of the numerous modern, pre packaged, soulless, trying desperately and failing to be unique, eateries. Of which there are a bunch around here. Certainly no identity. Missing was the charm and warmth of the old Mario's. A "Cuban" restaurant, one would think, would attempt as much as possible to fulfill the ambience and atmosphere of it's namesake. Sure there is a large wall emblazoned with a mural depicting scenes of Cuba along with the names of some of the country's cities. A feeble and failed attempt at ambience. Another failed attempt should have been, in the very least, to play Cuban music over the sound system. Of which I know there is a plethora of musical material to have filled that order. However, I kept hearing Country music being 'thrown in' every few songs. Nothing against Country music. Just that in my opinion it clashes with the attempt at the "Cuban" label. When I have been to a 'themed' restaurant, I expect ingredients that add to that respective theme. Having visited "Mexican" restaurants, the music being heard is traditional Mexican music. Kudos there. Kind of like walking into a Japanese restaurant, for example, and hearing Guns and Roses! My opinion for that practice, as an attempt to accommodate certain demographics. Finally the food. We went there for breakfast. Had a traditional eggs over medium, sausage links, potatoes, tostada, and cafe con leche. The plates we received our food in, left a lot to be desired about the selection of this dinnerware. It was reminiscent of plates I would give my kids when they were little in an attempt to minimize kid's mess. A large, white acrylic type saucer with a raised lip. For starters they were rather large (or perhaps they seemed larger because there was not enough food on them) So as far as the food was concerned, it was just that. A Basic breakfast that any other restaurant could have made. The real test about food, would come if I were to go there for dinner. The old Mario's used to make a 'killer' Churrasco steak. However, the new Mario's succeeded in making up my mind for me long before my food was served. I seriously doubt I will be returning. This ha been my humble and honest opinion with regards to the new Mario's. As might be said in Spanish... Mario's para mi, MURIO!

Im gonna start off with being nice we tried thing place being new in town, living down the road, first notice was the new building being built across the parking lot. It’s very confusing for one and there’s not much parking. Started to go in and noticed the outside bar and seating area, couldn’t find the door anywhere. Apparently everything is rearranged since there moving things to an unfinished building. Anyways found the door and was greeted by what we thought was a nice waitress, asked if we could sit on the half of the build without the fans on, it was very windy and chilly, she continued to ask someone behind her if she could seat is there which she than sat us down in the seat with NO fans on remember that. She then continued to go behind her counter and turn the fan on. Taken in with my whole family and 80 year old grandmother who has THREE coats on! I then ask her again if she could turn them down or even off she ROLLED her eyes and continued to giggle to I assume was the manager because I then went to the counter and asked for the owner or manger on duty and the lady giggle with our waitress said “oh that me what can I do?” I then told her which she seen ALL of it. How rude and hateful she was being to an elder woman and paying customers. We left without even getting a thing. I wish this place had a nicer employees so that my experience could be been fulfilled. The reviews seemed really good but the worker are just not it. Don’t recommend.

New is DEFINITELY NOT BETTER! I would go to the "Old Mario's" @ least 2 x per week (loved the old place, great food and great servic). Last night was my 1st time visiting the new restaurant, I sat @ the bar (bar was 💯 % completely empty and restaurant not busy, note I was the only person sitting @ the bar) after waiting nearly an hour for a Palomilla steak I had to send it back, ordered it Medium, came completely overcooked and tough. Bartender (lady was rude and abrasive) she asked me to get off my phone (I was by myself @ the bar and was looking @ Instagram on my phone) I was like ?? Who am I possible bothering ? Also, she asked me if I wanted another beer, I said "Yes" then she brings me the beer and tells me that I must finish the one that I am currently drinking before she can put this one down (so why even offer another beer) lots of staff sitting around doing nothing ! Service was atrocious and food not up to par with Old Restaurant! Never going back! DO NOT RECOMMEND !!

Went to eat at Marios family homestead restaurant atmosphere and service was good but the food was terrible I ordered Pork chunks and they were burnt and dry, my wife had the palomilla and the taste awful and bland didn't taste like a steak should. Been to the older Marios many times and the food was never this bad will not return to the new Marios.

We have been loyal customers of Mario’s and frequently visited the previous location before it was demolished. We never had any complaints at the old establishment, the food, service, and overall experience were always great. Because of that, we were excited to try the new location. When we arrived, it was busy, which we completely understood. The wait to be seated was reasonable given how full it was. However, once we were seated, it took a very long time for anyone to acknowledge us. Eventually our server, Dilia, came to take our drink order, but it again took quite some time for the drinks to arrive. After dropping them off, she did not return for a while to take our food order. At the previous location, we were always able to substitute or slightly modify items. At this new location, we were told substitutions were no longer allowed. That was disappointing since we’re used to ordering certain dishes a specific way. When the food arrived, it was dropped off quickly and the server left immediately without asking if we needed anything. We left an empty water cup at the edge of the table hoping it would be refilled, and we wanted to ask for hot sauce, but she left before we could say anything. We flagged down another server, but we still didn’t receive the water or hot sauce at that time. Eventually, Dilia noticed we weren’t eating and asked if everything was okay. We then asked for water and hot sauce, which she brought. Unfortunately, the food itself did not meet the standards we were used to from the previous location. I ordered Mario’s Huevos Rancheros. The tostones were very soft and undercooked instead of crispy, and the black beans tasted canned and lacked flavor. My husband ordered the Mezclado, which he has ordered many times before. In the past, he has been able to substitute or add French fries, but that was not allowed this time. The flavor was also not as good as we remember, and instead of a full tostada, it was cut into chunks, which was different from how it was previously served. When we received the check, we were surprised to see a suggested tip option of 30%. While tipping is important, seeing 30% as a suggested option felt excessive, especially considering the service we experienced. The new location looks beautiful inside and is very spacious. We understand that parking is still being completed since it’s new. However, overall, we were disappointed with both the service and the food quality during this visit. We truly hope this was just an off day because we have always enjoyed Mario’s in the past and would love to see the new location live up to the reputation of the old one.
