We enjoyed a delightful dinner at Ricky Thai Bistro last weekend. The menu is extensive and the food was delicious. The peanut dressing for the salad was so good. We enjoyed our Basil Seafood and Pad Woon Sen with clear noodles. The servers were knowledgeable and accommodating. The cost of dinner was reasonable as well.
First time ordering here as a new neighbor in the area. Such an amazing gem! The owner is a super sweet man. The place was packed when I got into the restaurant to pick up my chicken Pad Thai. I’d say is one of the best I have tried!!! Absolutely delicious. The portion is huge and you can eat two meals with it.
Absolutely delicious and aromatic dishes – one of the best Thai food we’ve ever had. The portions are very generous, and the service was warm and friendly. We highly recommend this restaurant!
Real authentic Thai food! I’ve had the vegetable soup which was absolutely soothing and yummy. And then we had cashew nut with chicken and then Pad Woon Sen with beef which was also incredible. (I think they couldn’t have gone little less on sodium it would have been perfect! Highly recommend this place
I got the pad Thai with shrimp and squid when I visited here and it was fantastic. Such a large portion that I took some home. The owner’s father made my experience worth while because he was very attentive and friendly. Also frequently checked on me to see if everything was fine. For some reason my waiter disappeared (probably busy) but I was taken care of by the boss. I would definitely revisit, probably during a less busy time.
Best Thai food in Miami ! I order the chicken pad Thai 10/10 , red curry, and green curry. Absolutely delicious! Very authentic Thai food.
Amazing authentic thai food and great service. Probably one of the best Thai’s in Miami.
Absolutely delicious! Ricky Thai Bistro is a hidden gem with authentic flavors, cozy atmosphere, and warm service. The green curry, pad Thai, and fried snapper are must tries. Can’t wait to come back!
The food was excellent. If you want to try authentic Thai food, this is the place to go. We ordered Thai spring rolls, and they're awesome. Pad wood sen and fried rice crab, and they were very very good. Also, we finished with Thai donuts, and they were also excellent. Definitely recommend this restaurant to try it and definitely going back to try more of their food.
The best pat Thai chicken I ever had. My girlfriend always wants to come here, always. The staff is amazing! And they make it a great experience every time. Don’t hesitate, take your date.
I've been a patron of Ricky's for a while now. Today, I returned after a long absence due to their renovation. The changes are amazing; the restaurant now feels so open and bright. The food and service were beyond impressive—I had the Drunken Noodle with pork, and it was outstanding. In terms of quality and flavor, it's to my opinion the best in Miami; you'd have to go to NY or Thailand to find something comparable. I highly recommend this place!
The restaurant is spectacularly good , it's fine dine thai food , really very good everything fresh , done at the moment . The owner makes you feel like in your house, excellent attention. Totally recommended.
I've been eagerly awaiting the reopening of this place since their expansion. It did not disappoint. Although they are currently open for dine in and take out, please be aware that there is some expansion work in progress. That being said, it doesn't affect, in any way, the quality of food or service. And the walk up/pick up window is genius. The food is so fresh,The chef is Thai and everything is made to order. I've spent a lot of time in Thailand, and this place does Thailand proud; and if you tell them you want it traditionally prepared, be prepared for it! Deliciousness! Run to this place, or at least, call in and Walk up, LoL. The wait was definitely worth it
One of the best pad thais I've ever had! Fresh, delicious ingredients. Large portion. Would definitely visit again. After adding shrimp this meal cost me $22.68
It’s a perfect little hole in the wall that has aspirations because they’re expanding. I’m a little worried that when they expand, they will lose that comfort, food environment and the very sweet waitress. They won’t have time to sit and chat over red curry vs green. They have an amazing selection, and they’re very kind and accommodating and plenty of food for very good prices. The Decour is charming, but nonetheless sort of like a hidden gem of a place. Opens at 4 o’clock. Come in through the back and don’t forget to get your pad Thai on .
The food was amazing and it tastes really authentic.
We have loved this place for over a decade! The food is consistently delicious (and the portions are big; our go-to order: veggie spring rolls, papaya salad, pineapple fried rice, basil stir fry, thai donuts), the service is friendly and attentive, the owner is welcoming, and the renovated space is lovely - fun colors and a great atmosphere. We are lucky it’s in our neighborhood, but it’s the type of place we’d go out of our way for - nothing fancy, just a reliably great meal.
What an incredible place we are so fortunate to have in our own little north Miami neighborhood. Food is always impeccable, no other Thai restaurant can compete in Miami and beyond. The new expansion is excellent. Modernized while maintaining an intimate local feel. And now they have a take out window! You may (probably will) need to wait, possibly for a while, to get seated do to its popularity but it's absolutely worth any wait
This place is unbelievable!!!! Amazing food, amazing service. 13/10
“Absolutely loved this Thai restaurant! The food was bursting with authentic flavor, the service was warm and attentive, and the prices were very reasonable. Five stars all around—can’t wait to come back!”
A friend of mine recommended Rickys to me and now I'm addicted 😂😂. Food was delicious, fresh and tasty and the service was excellent. If you like Thai food, you gotta try this place. You won't regret it!!
Addicted! We fell in love with this restaurant since the first visit, generous portion of high quality Thay food that resemble flavors from a distant place. The owner is a great host and offers specials that surprise and satisfy every single time. The prices are just incredibly honest and most important is consistently outstanding. We just keep going again and again. And we are glad of it!
Food was delicious, very impressive. Highly recommended!
Great authentic Thai food. customer service was very good and we felt very welcome.
Food at this place is the predominant issue every time we go. Meaning we already know in advance we’re going to have such a delightful gastronomic experience. Besides having a good time. The Kao Niao Moo Tod is the best in the world besides the fact that you don’t find that dish at any other Thai restaurant. We’ve been coming here since they started and we live in the opposite side of the city. Nevertheless we don’t think twice when it comes to satisfy our palate with fresh and excellent food plus the fact that the place is owned by a family that gives 1000% to offering a complete and very impressive dining experience 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Another local love of mine. For me these cozy small locally run restaurants truly are the heart and soul of this city. You know you're not only getting a bang for your buck. But a meal that's made with love as well. This restaurant has an authenticity that can only be feel like I'm in a dive in Thailand. Be careful ordering anything spicy though. I made the mistake of being over confident in my ability to handle the heat.
Amazing Thai, This was the 2nd time I have been here. The spring rolls were very good. The green papaya salad was awesome. The Pad Thai was Delicious 😋. The chicken coconut soup that I can never remember the name with Galanga and Keifer lime, chicken and mushrooms and cilantro was delicious, was super fresh and made to order! The Red Curry was full of veggies Zucchini, Beans, bamboo shoots, chicken, red peppers, carrots and more. Would highly recommend this place. Food and service was excellent! Phillip and Josephina were our tag team waiters and both were amazingly attentive! Try this place! Parking is somewhat small but great place!
My husband and I visited here earlier this week for a date night. We had the pleasure of having Ben as our waiter. He had a top notch level of service! And our food was great— we had the green curry fried rice. Ludo, a team member at the front of the restaurant also was super hospitable and kind! We will definitely be back!
Third time here, and enjoyed our meals. Great service across the board, dining room was comfortable even w alot of people
We’ve just returned to Ricky Thai bistro totally delighted with our fantastic meal. From spring rolls to drunken noodles to Thai donuts and more, Ricky Thai bistro will bring you a joyful experience!
Tom yum with coconut milk was delicious! I could eat 3 bowls of it 😋
Awesome food. Great service. Took a minute to find parking, but it's well worth it.
Had a really great meal here last night with a group of 10. My daughter & her husband live nearby and this is one of their favorite local places - I can see why. It’s not the least bit fancy, but the food and service is really great and it’s inexpensive. Definitely worth visiting.
Extremely good food and service! Reminded me of my trip to Thailand.
Everything was good except for one thing… I really don’t understand why they added a tourist tax to the bill??? They’re not in a tourist area and besides - I live here. Definitely not a tourist.
“Ricky Thai in North Miami is hands down the best Thai restaurant in all of Florida! The food is absolutely phenomenal, bursting with authentic flavors that transport you straight to Thailand. Every dish is perfectly balanced with fresh ingredients and rich spices, from their incredible Pad Thai to the flavorful curries. But what really sets Ricky Thai apart is the exceptional service. The staff is always warm, attentive, and quick to ensure that every customer has a fantastic dining experience. They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome, and their attention to detail is unmatched. If you’re looking for the best Thai food in Florida with outstanding service, Ricky Thai is the place to go. A true gem!”
Ricky is the best !! He really put a lot of love and hard work to make everything so perfect and the most delicious Thai food ever …. This place is one of my favorite restaurants when I am in Miami . Awesome food so healthy and made with love and care . Omg the Thai donuts 🍩 there are amazing. Thank you Ricky we love you 🩷
Excellent quality and options. Cozy environment. Great Value. Consistently good. One of my favorite places. Best Thai in the area. Lucky to have them locally! Definitely recommend. Doesn’t disappoint. No matter the dish, happy customer for many years.
Just can’t say enough good things about Ricky’s. Good is just awesome, fresh, piping hot, flavorful. Best Pad Thai I have had in years and years, esp with tofu. Red curry yummy, spicy and loved every minute of it. Thai rice moist and just the right amount of moisture and clumpiness. Thai chili whole fish, yikes, snapper the night I went, and just pick it right off with some lettuce and the Lap tomato sauce dip was crazy! Chill place, great owners, friendly staff and a great and inexpensive wine list. Yeah, worth a drive from wherever you are.
BEST THAI IN MIAMI HANDS DOWN. I have never eaten inside the restaurant, always taken out. The place is always swamped right at open. The workers are extremely kind and quick. The food is genuinely the best.
Great customer service both on the phone and in-person. Julian was lovely. We had takeout but restaurant is extremely clean. I got to peek in the kitchen (beautiful). Lastly, the food was delicious. So happy this will be our go to dinner spot.
Ricky's went out of their way to make sure my visit was a good one. The food was excellent! I got the pad thai and the shrimp we're big and scrumptious. The manager/owner (guy in his later 50's?) really tried to make sure my food was in my hands pronto. My only problem here is the parking.
Food was great eith reasonable prices. However, the place is quite loud on Saturday night.
Best Thai food in North maimi in my opinion. Owner is always there could be alittle more friendlier just always seems alittle busy and short when talking to people. They expanded the location. Would highly recommend.
2026 Update: Order the whole fish with their special amazing out-of-this-world sauce, simply a WOW! April ‘24 update: THEY HAVE RE-OPENED FOR DINE-IN! Amen to that! Absolutely the best Thai restaurant in Miami. I am frequent flyer at Ricky’s for the last 5 years and their quality and taste are always impressive. Amazing Papaya salad, you will get addicted to the sauce. All Noodle dishes are full of flavors to be discovered, the Duck is a dream come true, try it with the pineapple rice for a perfect pairing. Thai Donuts to top it all off with a sweet ending. The owner is always onsite, which is truly what makes it all work flawlessly. Takeout is a good choice.
Ricky Thai is *the* go-to for good Thai if you’re anywhere in the North Miami Beach area. Highly recommend the soups, especially any of the Tom Kha coconut based soups. There’s something about the way Ricky Thai does it that just doesn’t compare at other Thai spots. Unfortunately it’s take-out only right now or delivery through an app like Postmates, but the food is too good to pass up.
So glad Ricky Thai’s back!! Had a wonderful dinner… Thai spring roll, Ricky Thai Wings, Green Papaya Salad, Thai Fried Rice, Penang Curry, and the Duck Basil - all deliciously executed, and well paired with a nice Italian white. We finished with some Thai donuts and an espresso. Next level, and well priced in comparison to most Miami restaurants these days. Go, you’ll love! 💕 Sorry, we only photographed the first two dishes 😂
My husband and I have been coming here consistently for 9.5 years and will continue to do so until they close their doors. The owners are friendly, warm people who we have seen from time to time in the neighborhood and who treat the community with kindness. The food is INCREDIBLE, fresh, and well priced, especially for the quality. The restaurant is a casual vibe. They are very careful to source great quality ingredients and will even reduce the sugar in the sauce for you if you ask! It’s a 10/10 for us!
We live down the road and ordered take out 1/2 a month. When they closed we were worried about how they would make a comeback. Wow, they did not disappoint! Every single thing was delicious! The place looks very clean and updated inside, the take out window is very smart and I hope they use it to their advantage. 👍 Favorites: - Crispy Duck Red Curry - Basel Fried Rice - Satay Chicken Skewers - Thai Donuts You really can't go wrong here.
Great food in a casual neighborhood small space. Lively, yet not noisy. Servers are friendly and food is high quality and prepared exactly as you wish.
Delicious food. Great service. My friends and i loved it from the start. The owners are usually at the restaurant greeting guests. Highly recommend.
Best Thai food in Florida! The service is always on point, the food is incredible, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Ricky Thai Bistro never misses!
VERY good food! Everyone working there seemed genuinely happy to serve you. The owner works right alongside his team. If you’re looking for great Thai go here. You won’t be disappointed.
This restaurant serves delicious food. It has a great family atmosphere, and the owner, Giulano and wife, Majcha, with their welcoming warmth and wonderful cooking, make it so that you want to keep going back. I have to mention the staff as well, they make you feel right at home. They are so attentive and just fantastic! So... what a great combination of exquisite food, family atmosphere, and those that work th ere, making you feel welcomed.
Been coming here for years! This family owned restaurant boasts of authenticity all around, while Juliano & his wife insist on being sticklers to Thai flavors and recipes. A North Miami Neighborhood gem. This time we had our favorite Whole fish with Thai hot sauce. The generous sauce also served on the side with aromatic rice is a meal for the gods. The squid appetizer is spicy, unique and so satisfying. Servers and Juliano are so attentive and pleasant. They even remember your name, what your favorite dishes are and the smiles are endless while they run around trying to accommodate the long waits of this tiny restaurant! Love I, love them… just all around love! Bravo guys!!! And thank you for feeding us
We did take out and the food was excellent. Spice level was perfect for our taste and adjusted to make it vegan. We had drunken noodles and red curry with tofu. Absolutely delicious.
I’ve been going to Ricky’s Thai for almost an entire decade. Love this place, good vibes, great food! So delicious and consistent taste. The tom kha Kai, pineapple fried rice with chicken, spring rolls, and pad see ew are so tasty. Love that it’s a family run restaurant as well!
My husband and I have been many times to Ricky Thai Bistro and it’s always been a 10/10, so it was time to leave a review. The portions are very big, the dishes are delicious and the service is incredible! John was amazing tonight. I always have the pad thai with chicken and shrimp and even though I’ve tried several pad thai this is definitely my favorite! We highly recommend Ricky Thai Bistro :)
Having traveled to Thailand myself, I can confidently say Ricky Thai Bistro is authentic and just as good as what you’ll find in Thailand. The chicken panang curry, Thai spring rolls, ribs, chicken wings, and Thai donuts are all incredible. Consistently excellent food.
what a hidden gem, i don't give 5 stars out freely but Ricky Thai Bistro deserves it! The place is small but the flavor and quality outshines! The service was good. The papaya salad was fresh and absolutely refreshing. The kids enjoyed the chicken satay we ordered another round. The Tom Yum Goong came out piping hot and full to the brim on bowl - the flavor was wonderful, tart and lemongrassy. The stir fried veggie dish & drunken noodles were both filling and plentiful - would recommend and order these dishes again. Nice find, authentic flavors and fair portions
Wow! My friend suggested I come here because I was in the area and I'm so happy I did! It's a super lowkey spot but the food is amazing. The service we had was also so so good. She was incredibly sweet and made conversation with us and suggested good dishes. Here's what we ordered: - KAO NIAO MOO TOD: you must order this! It's Papaya salad with sticky rice and pork strips. These pork strips were my favorite part of the whole meal! Ask for the papaya salad a little spicy. We forgot to do that and wished we did - Pad See Ew was really good too! Can't go wrong with this and they have a great one - Crab Fried Rice; not my favorite crab fried rice EVER but it was really good. I'm sad I hadn't heard of this place before but I'm glad I found it now and can't wait to go back!
Best Thai Food In North Miami! Reminds me of Thai Market In New York! And that’s a HUGE compliment lol that’s my favorite Thai spot in NEW YORK. Ricky Thai bistro! Small neat spot! Banging powerful boastful Thai flavors! The wings are super crunchy and never fails me! Rice is plush and plentiful! TREAT YO SELF!!! 🔥 Poetic Approved 💯
I have been going to Ricky Thai since not long after they opened. It is my favorite Thai restaurant, and everyone who works there is delightful. Giuliano and his wife are terrific, and the "kids" are now grown. Ricky Thai is one of the things that make life worth living. I always make it my business to read negative reviews, and there are a few, but I don't get it. Those dissatisfied people are not describing the Ricky Thai my friends and I know well. I gave the atmosphere four stars, because I keep trying to convince Giuliano to put up some artwork, since he has improved the general design, but he likes it the way it is. As for the food, the service, and the people in general, they can't be beat. A couple of reviewers complained that it took too long to get what they ordered. I've never once had that issue.
This is our first time visiting Ricky Thai Bistro and we love it. The service is impeccable. The food is delicious. We definitely recommend it!
This is the best and most authentic Thai food in south Florida. All their vegetables are grown in their own organic garden. The chicken is organic and antibiotic free. I’m picky with food and I’ve never had a bad meal here ever! The service feels like you just came home and your mom is cooking for you. The owners are husband and wife and together they take care of everything. Husband watches over restaurant while the wife makes sure every meal is done the right way. If you’re unhappy with your meal, I will pay for it; that’s how good and consistent this restaurant is. Now you know where to get the best Thai food in South Florida.
Felicitaciones I had an extraordinary gastronomic experience... it is a familiar place, warm and clean!! From the moment you enter you can feel at the house of a Thai friend... the smell of the food captivates you and you fall in love from the moment you enter! The staff working in the restaurant is very friendly. The suggestions were very successful. In my case I ordered Thai Spring Rolls as a starter and Basil Fried Rice and Drunken Noodles as a main course. Everything perfectly in harmony: the flavors, the texture, the presentation, the combination and the quality. Absolutely reasonable prices and location very close to Miami Beach! Excellent experience and delicious Thai food in Miami!! I will be back soon! Congratulations
Food was great all around. Service was meh. But the flavors of the food made up for it.
Very good Thai food. There's a little bit of a way when it's busy.
What a hidden gem! We ordered beef panang, pad woon sen and laarb with beef steak. Everything was full of flavor and with hearty portions. Family style sharing is recommended because of the amazing portions. I grew up with a blended family with Thai influneces, and this was very close to the dishes I've had growing up. If I could offer any feedback, it would be to make the Panang with a little more nutty taste, it was a little sweeter for my liking but still delicious. The pad wood sen was great, but would have liked lime wedges served with it to squeeze over it. For both dishes, I felt the protein was more "boiled" as it wasn't tender. If the meat was simmered in the curry or stir fried on a higher heat, the flavor and texture would make a huge difference. I would love to see Yum Woon Sen added to the menu for those days when you want a cool (temp) and refreshing dish for those hotter days. We almost didn't make it because there wasn't parking behind the bldg, but my husband circled around and we got lucky. There isn't much parking so be prepared to wait or walk a little farther. I 💯 percent recommend this place!
Wonderful family run Thai restaurant. We love coming here. The food is always delicious and the service is great.
This was a weird one. We showed up and it looked like a run down building, front door is blocked off but my first thought was, the good must be really good if they are still staying open. My first sense to trigger when I walked in was my nose. The use of fish sauce was obvious, and that got me excited; I knew I was going to get some flavorful foods. The pad thai, salad, egg rolls aesthetically was fantastic. The taste was bold, with some heat but a little too sweet, presumably to try to cut the spiciness. It was a balance of authentic and American Thai food.
i thoroughly enjoyed this thai spot, yummy food and wonderful service from Jenny. I have to be honest i have high expectations for thai food, i lived in thailand and have eating thai food all around the world, this place ranks high. I’m happy to have found it. They open at 5pm. I recommend the green curry fried rice, pad see ew was also delicious. I’m looking forward to trying to curry!
We have been a big fan of this place for a decade. Glad they expanded, but its still tough to find parking and on weekends there are long waits. Worth it for the food, but try coming during the week instead. You must try the Ricky Thai beer made by Lost City Brewing and the red curry with chicken. Our kids love the pineapple chicken fried rice. We have family who visit and always must hit up Ricky Thai before we leave. Recommend!
The food is authentically Thai. The pad see ew tastes like any street vendor in Bangkok would prepare it. The smokey taste of the wok envelopes the noodles. The Massaman curry is sweet and coconut rich. The green curry is undoubtedly perfect with a little kick. I can only assume that they are using a traditional mortar and pestle to create such aromas. My only complaint would be the lack of protein in each dish. We ordered 3 dishes, (all with chicken.) And they likely didn't use a whole breast to create all of them. Plenty of delicious veggies though.
Excellent Thai food!!! A must visit if in the area. I ordered the Tom Kha Goong soup. LARGE shrimp in this big bowl of soup along with fresh mushrooms. Yummy! I also had the Pad Kee Mow or Drunken Noodles with beef.. Also very good with an excellent selection of very fresh vegetables and the perfect compliment of Basil. A must visit when in the N. Miami area.
1st time- food was ok (dine in). 2nd time (takeout) the noodles were overcooked more than the first time which was very disappointing Staff was nice and the place is cute with a nice ambiance when I dined in.
I’m giving it three stars because the food arrived cold after a long wait. We had to ask them to reheat it, and they ended up using the microwave. It also felt a bit disorganized when it came to seating guests. That said, the food tasted amazing, and our server was extremely friendly and kind.
Not a good experience!! Food comes out BURNING hot - plus the waiter misinformed me about level of spiciness. I told him what I wanted, but they were too busy to pay attention. I get it, things happen. Unfortunately, I had to send it back. Red curry tastes like it has sugar in it - I didnt bother to ask but it was sweet. If you have food sensitivities, it's heavy oil and hidden sugars. Plus, they don't listen to your concerns when doing food prep and the place is so noisy and small. Waiter was apologetic, but I won't be back.
Came first when they open. 4:05pm, got soup at 4:35 and main 4:55. Pad Thai is WAY too sweet, felt like they dropped a sugar bin there by accident. Drunken noodles arrived about 15 min after my wife got her main, noodles were not cooked, just boiled sticked together, not charred in wok like it’s supposed to. Was uneatable and barely touched. They did not care about it, too bad. Their Tom kha is pretty good. Didn’t leave me anything to even come back and give it another shot
used to be my favorite thai spot for years, I have had it about 2 times in the past 6 months, not it anymore :/ shame when your fav spots aren't as good as they used to be
Food was terrible, worst Thai food I ever hard. I prefer Thai food over Chinese food most times for the quality. I only get shrimp fried rice. Greasy. They gave 5 shrimps for $22 Small portion. Also no parking. I had to drive and walk all the way around. I ordered before I got there. If I didn’t I would have canceled the order before I got there. Please save the money and the hassle. When I walked in everyone was really nice but honestly really upset with the quality of food.
Was treated very poorly by the manager/man up front who seats people. We were there two weeks ago and had a great experience with the food and server. We noticed BOTH times unjust and preferential treatment with tables. The man in question was so rude to my wife and I we had to leave. Neighborhood restaurants are important - and this unprofessional, nasty and greedy way of doing business is why they crumble. Just a terrible way to treat customers. They need to take some lessons on the basics of customer service and simply how to treat people. Very disturbing and disappointing.
The chairs tables are rock hard. The decor is depressing. The food tastes frozen. Small portions ,,and cheap quality food. We are really disappointed
