Avis sur Sawaddee Thai & Sushi Restaurant Miami
This is your mom and pop Thai restaurant. It not really fancy but quaint. The food for lunch is priced well but dinner is a bit more . I had the green curry. I like there curry it is not as sweet as man Thai curry. The spring rolls are always fresh made and very crunchy light outside with good stuff not just cabbage.
I absolutely love this place. It’s the cutest little Thai restaurant in Miami Beach. The food is amazing for a reasonable price. Also, you can bring your own drinks without having to pay an overpriced amount like in other restaurants. I will keep coming back over and over again.
The service is incredible great. They are very nice. Second time to come here. Actually they are going to close when I came. But they still take me in as it rains quite hard outside. Thanks a lot. Highly recommend the garlic dishes! And they make great fried duck!Very delicious👍
We loved the food and the service was friendly. We have been twice so far on our holiday. The fried ginger snapper and crispy fried snapper curry were delicious (we asked for mild and it was perfect for us). Paid around $68 for one starter and two mains (before tip). Travelled there on the L from South beach around 1/2 hour. Would recommend.
Good food, fast service, at a reasonable price . I believe Mariam was our server and she was a delight. Will be coming back for sure.
I wish I could give 4.5 stars instead. Food was pretty good, but a bit pricey. We got the chicken pad thai, spring rolls, and chicken satay. Pad thai was one of the best I have ever had, but the spring rolls and satay were a bit boring and the sauces were watery. Overall though, I liked the food and will come back in the future!
The green curry and Thai iced tea was so great! And rice with meat and fried basil was also super tasty.
I came to fly a Drone around here and I saw a big line of people waiting to getting so I decided to come in and try the food, and yes very happy to taste a couple of sushi and the duck plate, one thing that got my attention is that they sell alcohol like every other restaurant, I would have to come back to try some of the cool drinks that I saw in other tables, the employees are very friendly and welcoming the look is very well made to the theme, give it a try!
I had the green curry with chicken and brown rice. The flavor of the coconut milk really came out with the other spices. Delicious squash and eggplant filled the dish. The spicy thom kha soup i had as an app was delightful with shrimp, tomato, and spring onions. They will adjust the level of spice if thats not your thing but I like it hot. Very generous portions for an extremely fair price. This is definitely my favorite thai spot in Miami.
Absolutely, the BEST Thai food in the area. Everything is delicious and fresh! Full menu with lots of great choices. Everything I've had has been amazing. Good prices. They will deliver. Small seating area, but, never a long wait, if any. It's BYOB, but, they happily provide glassware for your adult beverage.
Great, Pad Kra-Prao Gai. I asked for extremely spicy and got it! Very nice atmosphere for lunch. Friendly and very efficient wait staff. Looking forward to returning again and again. I have been going here now for several years. The food and service is consistently good and always meets or exceeds my expectations, and trust me, I’m critical.
Best Thai food around. Quality and service on point every time. The food is so delicious and will immediately become a favorite. It's a go to for us at home.
This place is truely the best for Sushi and glass noodles! Wait staff is awesome, they are very prompt at all times. I have been so many times and have received the same great service and food each time. I live in Cutler Bay and drive near an hour for this place often
Our food was amazing. We've eaten Thai from many places and this was as good as we've had other than in Thailand and Malaysia! Excellent. FYI we had the Pad Thai and Penang Curry. Superb!
We love this cozy spot for delicious authentic Thai! There’s so much fusion on the menu — you can even order sushi and Japanese appetizers (like edamame!). It’s BYOB, so don’t forget to hit a local liquor store (there’s many within walking distance) to get beverages!
The Pad Thai used to be $16 now its $20 Crazy for Normandy I think the success got to their head. Food is loosing the original quality. Now it tastes more commercial. But still deserves 5 stars
This is the best and most popular little Thai restaurant on Miami Beach. The food us excellent, the prices are reasonable for lunch specials but steep for the dinner menu. You won't be disappointed here.
My number 1 Thai restaurant in Miami Beach. Their food is very consistent and delicious. I’ve been to Thailand and their red curry flavor takes me right back to Phuket. We love their garlic Duck too.
Love love love this place! Their food and service is consistently wonderful! Small restaurant space but they have outdoor seating and they deliver. Lunch is a great deal. I got the Panang Chicken with white rice, which came with an egg roll and soup for $10.95. Every time I eat this dish I can't wait to eat it again! Sooo good!!! I've eaten from Sawaddee many, many times and tried tons of dishes and the food is ALWAYS good and the service is always nice... dinner is a little more expensive but, you just get more of what you love.
What a great dinner. Wonderful VERY kind staff. We had Papaya Salad which was 5 star in itself, Green Curry, Pad Thai, Gyoza...everything was wonderful. Our server Poi (I might be misspelling) was the sweetest and told us how to customize our order next visit. Highly recommend.
This place is not for tourists. This place is for locals! Atmosphere, nothing special, old, needs some work. It's definitely not a shick place. But that's doesn't matter! Food! Food is the best. And service friendly, it's like visiting grandma... If you like Thai food, that's a place to go.
Long-standing favorite. Authentic Thai food, friendly service.
I really loved this spot. It's a great place for a date. Had a pleasure of a friend of mine taking me there. The food was excellent.
Very delicious food. Sushi is really good, and so is the food. My picky children were so happy and there is a nice atmosphere. The waiters there are 9000/10 👌👌👌👌 Rainbows came out of my eyes because of the rainbow sushi. Nothing is better than this restaurant. Go there right now. 11/10
The food is always on point but they need to work on with service quality coz there is no consistency. Sometimes it’s slow, sometimes its fast.... But, don’t forget to bring your own bottle of wine! They will allow you without corkage fee! How amazing is that???!!!! Best way to partner your pad Thai!
This place is awesome!... As soon as you walk in Mariam greed us, place is clean. the decoration is amazing, All walls have wooden carved decoration with a big clear glass that make the place open with nice lighting, the menu had a big variety of choices; coconut 🦐 as appetizer and red curry as main dish 👍
Hands down the best Thai on the beach. The food is so good and the restaurauny is BYOB which is just awesome. They often take a long time to push food out of the kitchen so don't go here if you are looking for a quick bite. I highly recommend you bring a bottle and good friends, you will love it!
We had Our monthly Wonder Women's dinner here and had a large amount of ladies that showed up. I would say probably about 20 Women's. I must say my dinner was delicious and I believe there was no complaint at all. We all enjoyed are meal and the service was great. The people from the restuarant took pics of us so maybe they will post them. I would like to see them. I would most definitely recommend this place to everyone! I only had one pic, but the restaurant has more they may want to add
It's a cozy little place with an interesting approach to Thai food. The staff is friendly, and the food is great. I brought my friends from New York for dinner, and they loved it!
The best place to go for lunch (only $6.99) or dinner in North Beach. The atmosphere is intimate and cozy because of the decor and especially because the people working there are very welcoming and attentive. One feels right at home when dining at Sawaddee. Food is excellent and priced just right. You can BYOB since they do not serve alcoholic beverages and I find that a plus because it give me the freedom to choose excellent wines (at the wine store) at an affordable price. And they do not charge the corkage fee. It is one of the few places I recommend to people who are looking for good Thai food and a relaxed atmosphere. I have been going to Sawaddee since it open more than 10 years ago.
Love Thai food and was here on vacation. My girlfriend and I decided to try it on our second night. It was so good we came back a second night and are strongly considering going back there again tonight. We tried both the sushi and Thai and both were amazing. HIGHLY recommended!!
Loved my experience here. A great place in a nice setting. Nice prices and good facilities. Amazing menu. Focused on thai food. Absolute best. Entrees very eclectic great presentation and good portion size. Not the newest place but all good experience. I will be back.
This a tiny authentic Thai restaurant. My wife and I were here on a random evening. There were some couples here and 2 - 3 families. But, plenty of tables were available. Service was a bit slow due to staff shortages (CoVID times). For a tiny Thai "mom-and-pop" restaurant we felt that the prices were a bit high. But when the food arrived, we saw that the helpings were much larger than a typical restaurant, so the prices were indeed justified. Order accordingly. Both of us are vegetarian. The typical Thai curries (red, green, massaman, etc.) that one finds in all Thai restaurants are all pre-made here and contain fish sauce. But, the proprietor pointed out that we could order any of their entrees vegetarian and it would be completely vegetarian. That's what we did. The food was incredibly fresh and delicious. Man, that was one satisfying meal. BTW, this is a BYO -- had we known that we would have brought along a bottle of wine.
SUPER yummy & amazing service. The food came quick and was DELICIOUS. Meaw was so sweet. I’ll def be back ❤️
Cheap corking fee. Good Thai food.Whats not to love? This place is good for dates but not first dates as it is rather noisey. Kitchen is constantly bombarded seats always filled. They have all your Thai favorites like Thai coffee and Thai donuts as well as some more classic Thai entrees. Pad Thai is good too.
Sawadee is worth every mile! Their Asian food is homemade and absolutely delicious. We drive almost an hour just to eat here every month because it’s that good. The restaurant is family owned, and you can feel the care they put into everything. The waiters are always nice, friendly, and welcoming. If you’re looking for authentic, comforting food with wonderful service, Sawadee is the place to go.
very authentic amazing food basil fried rice was the highlight
Friendliest staff ever and amazing food, David was great!
I love this place, real atmosphere of Asia, and food is delicious
This is the best Thai food I ever had. The hostess was very kind and welcoming. We came 5 minutes before closing, but they were nice enough to serve us. It is a perfect place to go to, if you’re looking for a comforting, local place. I recommend eating at this amazing place. 100%
This restaurant could not have had better Pad Thai or better service the two times we went here. We read the reviews online and were unsure at first, but after going here our first night in Miami, Saturday, we were not disappointed. We ended up getting their coconut shrimp and two orders of pad Thai, one mild and one medium, to test their spice levels. Both were very balanced. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the meal and service so much, we went two days later again, on a weekday, and again, were treated to a great meal and very friendly staffers. This is definitely a great, inexpensive dinner option.
Best Thai in Miami! Very fresh and consistent. We drive an hour and a half at times, to eat here. Staff is friendly and food is incredible.
I did not expect to find an authentic Thai restaurant in Miami Beach area but the food here is exceptional. We ordered Tom yum Soup, Spicy Edamame and Fried Rice and all of them were good.
i came here on a whim because the wait at katana was super long and i couldnt be happier that i did!!!!!! the food was absolutely delicious and very well priced. the papaya salad was insane and the sauce that came with the golden shrimp was some of the best ive ever had, i will be thinking about until i return. AND the customer service was outstanding!!!! so sweet and attentive. im really happy i walked in here<333 :))))
I came in last minute with friends. From homie to homie, shii was so good it was putring me to sleep at the table. I was ready for a nap 😭😭 all the spice was warm and perfect, staff was ON IT! 10/10 bring yo mama and your bc its giving cozy and warm.
Always a solid spot for Thai food. Please note it’s BYOB so grab a bottle of wine/beer before coming. They will set you up with glasses. I love their fried rice with chicken, huge portion and delicious - $20. My partner got some sushi and he devoured it.
Very good tasty Thai place. It’s a BYOB spot so take advantage of that for sure! Somewhat of a hidden off the path place, but ambiance is just great. Service was good too. Food came quickly and might yummy. Service is good. Definitely a place I would come back to.
The staff was a bit awkward but you can deal. Lunch specials are amazing. Eat for two and your total will be around 23$! Lots of food left us stuffed. Here is one of their lunch specials. Will come here again. Sushi was decent, favorite was the JB Roll.
This is one of the more authentic Thai spots in Miami Beach. The pad thai was really delicious. The Panang Curry was pretty good, and the spring rolls were as well. I think this place has a lot to offer. I really liked the restaurant decor.
Tasty food and delivered very fast. The service in general could be better as we waited for now than 15 minutes for someone to look at us do at could ask for water. It looks like they are just focused on providing the food and nothing else. Overall, very good food (though not the best) at a little bit higher than expected prices
Better than average Thai entrees, I’ve never tried their sushi items. This place is not going to meet the expectations of a Thai food truest, but good enough for takeout food. Service inside can be hit or miss. Often a miss, especially during peak times.
We went specifically for lunch specials. We are very pleased. We eat a lot of Thai food and this is a good place to go. Dinner prices were a little pricey for us, but not for the area. We will definitely go back.
Solid authentic Thai neighborhood restaurant. Been on several occasions and they are consistent. I think the only thing I wasn’t crazy about was the papaya salad, but overall my experiences have been positive.
Had a wonderful meal after a nice day on the beach . I have read other reviews and agree, a large amount of rice should be offered . I am from NY and it took my back home and the quality and experience of good Thai and Sushi . Have been there many thimes . Will be back .
Hm what to say. They have a crazy broad menu. But all the dishes I have had were great. I did get a sweet and sour chicken and got deathly I’ll from good poisoning for a few days. But otherwise I still eat here and enjoy this place a lot. Cashew chicken and sweet ginger basil are great dishes. They took the spring roll from lunch specials which I used to like, but food prices have gotten crazy and they haven’t really raised prices much from what I can see. Great local place. I eat here once or twice a month!
Tasty food Decent quick service Cleanliness of staff and kitchen could be better Because there kitchen faces the parking lot you are prevy to a lot i.e kitchen staff smoking throwing out trash etc. Then getting back on line to prepare meals w/out washing there hands. I did let staff know what I witnessed and I was disregard and told they don't so that although I just witnessed it prior to entering the establishment. I've been eating here for years and never gotten sick however cleanliness is next to godliness. Your advised
Good local spot, no frills but warm welcoming decor. Pad Thai is hit or miss with sometimes having no flavour but others being great so it really depends on the day. Server forgot out appetizer but the main dishes are a great portion size so we had enough to take some home as leftovers. A little more expensive than what we’re used to but reasonable, good enough offering and quality. It’s worth the visit if you’re in the area and craving some Thai food.
I really wanted to fall in love with this quaint Thai restaurant (they also have sushi), but it fell a bit short of what I expected. The place has a great neighborhood feel and the service was both friendly and attentive. They have a BYOB policy so we brought a few bottles of wine to enjoy, which was wonderful. The Thai appetizers were very good, especially the nam sod. I usually try to order more authentic and difficult to find Thai dishes, but the pad Thai was highly recommended by the staff. I asked for it spicy. Overall, I was very disappointed with the dish. It was extremely sweet and totally disrupted the balance that makes pad Thai so delicious. It had zero heat, not even slightly spicy. I was really expecting more since it was recommended and it entirely changed my opinion of the restaurant since everything was good up to that point. My friend also ordered the pad Thai and agreed that it was far too sweet and had no heat. We were too full for dessert. Overall, pros were clean, friendly, BYOB, and tasty appetizers. Cons: pad Thai was poorly executed and totally missed the mark which is really disappointing for a Thai restaurant.
Big portion of meat and small rice 🍚 portion. Overall it is not very authentic and taste is mediocre at best. Strange to be a sushi restaurant and Thai. Service is good and restaurant is okay decor. Prices a little hi overall I would say. Would not go back
Pad thai not so good. Cant reccomend.
good food, excellent price! only thing is that our waitress wasn’t on standby too much and she also messed up on a couple of things. She was pretty tho so I left like a $2 tip rounding up to a $50 bill. She then followed my partner and I to our car in the parking lot and asked what was wrong with her service because we didn’t leave much? lol she wanted to us leave her the 18% gratuity which she wasn’t worthy of and basically harassed us. I don’t like them attitudes and i’m never coming back. thai house on south beach> sawadee.
In need of more staff. At least 1 more, curry meat is dry and more bamboo shoot than I've ever seen before . Rice is 3$ and the give a cup that's very small. Below avg sorry
Take out order. Took more than an hour and 15 minutes. They blamed it on the driver, but our stop was the first stop. The restaurant was overwhelmed. They used to have top-notch service, but they need to work on that for the price they’ve increased the food to. If I’m gonna spend $100 on dinner for two people it better be on time.
The taste of the curry was a little off, but overall, very flavorful. Now, the sushi, is to die for. So delicious and fresh along with masterful presentation. The price was reasonable for the portions given. Nothing special about the service, quite normal. Would definitely go back again.
This place is cute and styled very nicely. Clean and very nice people. I gave this place 3 stars because the sushi is not good at all. I ordered the Hot JB roll and it burned my mouth and the veggie roll seaweed was hard and not chewable. The Thai food (Pad Thai and Pad See Yew) was good and they should stick to only Thai food. The waitress was kind of an airhead and kept forgetting what we ordered and it was kind of annoying. Slightly disappointed.
Las he probado mucho mejores.
Disappointed. I ordered the pad Thai shrimp and it came with every meat on it. I don’t eat meat so there goes 30$. They offered to deliver me a new one if I paid for delivery. That’s is what the tip I prematurely gave you for the incorrect order of food I couldn’t eat. People are allergic to foods, be specific in the description. If I order SHRIMP pad Thai, I don’t want beef and chicken. I
Very mediocre. Have been here several times before. Hey, Mr. Manager - the Sea Bass (at $21 plus) was dry and hard, not soft and flaky as it should have been. Also, although the restaurant was comparatively empty at the time, our order took way too long to be served. Our last two visits leads me to the conclusion that your quality -food and service - have declined. I'm going to have to evaluate whether it's worth the risk to try you again. $21 plus)
No chili oil on site = not authentic. A true Thai restaurant tends to have chili oil already at every table or at a minimum they have it available. Pad Thai was mild (no chili oil) and had overcooked noodles with little veggies or egg. Shrimp volcano entree looked more like an appetizer. Overprice for what was served. Sushi was great and staff was nice.
We live locally and have ordered delivery and takeout from Sawadee several times. Unfortunately, their prices have gotten so out of scale ($20 for a regular order of pork fried rice and $24 for a normal beef cashew entrée) I can't recommend them any more. The quality of the food is good, coconut shrimp and pad Thai are great options, but it's just gotten too expensive for what it is.
I ordered Tom kah coconut chicken soup and thats not at all what they gave me. the broth in whatever soup they gave me was extremely SOUR. The spring roll was mushy inside so not cooked long enough and the shrimp tempura sushi roll was honestly gross the sea weed was extremely chewy the shrimp inside had been fried and sitting out for idk how long so it definitely was not freshly made.
I’m sorry.. we need to stop normalizing this. $28 for a little green curry?!? I was hopeful at least it would be huge portions. Are we out of our minds paying these prices?? I’m sorry but these prices are absurd and everyone in Miami who is enabling this nonsense by willfully paying this absurdity and then having the audacity to say “these prices are reasonable” needs to stop and realize this is not normal. I understand it’s inflation and everything but this is robbery and we really need to stop putting up with it.
Order took two hours to arrive; the poor courier waited at the restaurant for more than 40 minutes. When the order finally got to us, it was poorly packaged: misshaped containers, a soup lid was cracked, multiple items had leaked in the bags and made other items soggy. Most of the food was cold and too spicy and sweet, but those were the least of our problems at that point.
Cooks and staff are constantly smoking outside and they are using the beautiful tree in front of the restaurant as a personal ashtray. There are hundreds of cigarette butts on the grass next to the restaurant. I live in the same neibour and this is unacceptable. It took me only one minute to collect all this cigarette butts leave them on their door. If this is the respect they give to the planet and the neibour I don't even wanna think how they treat their own guest. Please be mindfull
Went there for the 4th and final time and had a terrible experience. Promised ourselves we wouldn't go back after strike 3, but its right around the corner from my house and i couldn't resist the convience! We were not given water until we asked several times and recieved it about the same time as our entrees. No utensils/napkins etc were given until several requests. soup & entrees were cold which we just ate because we were starving. The rolls were pretty good so that was a plus. Overall not worth it at all for the $$$$. I think we have given this place more than enough times for redemption, but were done! 👎
We ate there 6/25/15. We found a big cockroach in the the food. We reported to the worker. He said "ok we can take away this dish." He did not give any apology. Paid and left. Never dine there again. I have picture of the dish.
I've been here many times and enjoyed it every time. On 04/18/16 around 6:30pm I went here and ordered a few things including a Pad Thai dish. It did not taste right after a few bites I decided not to finish it. Paid over $50 dollars for the whole meal. By 10:00pm my stomach was in pain, and 2 days later I'm still nursing myself back form both diarrhea and vomitting. I don't know what's going on here with Miami restaurants that over charge and serve mediocre food. This was one place I enjoyed until now. BE Cautious!
I placed an online order to be delivered at a specific time. The restaurant did not pay attention and delivered it 40 min early. Unfortunately someone was home to receive it, so it sat 40 min before I was able to come home to eat it. I spent $80 on cold delivery where the noodles were all stuck together & yucky. When I called the restaurant to complain, the guy said sorry but there was nothing he could do about it. He said a manager would call me the next day (they never did). I do NOT recommend delivery ever from here.
I tried the sushi here. It may be an exaggeration to say that it was the worst that I've ever had in all my years. May be. It was almost inedible. The taste was bland and watery, lacked freshness (I think the Ikura was well past the sell-by date), and the nori was stale. It's not acceptable to serve food this bad. The management should stick to Thai food. So, though it's possible that the Thai food is acceptable, stay far away from the sushi. This restaurant looks a little shabby on the outside, but is quaint and well appointed on the inside. The service was polite, but not friendly. I suspect a strong language barrier made small talk difficult. Though there were more staff members than patrons in the restaurant, they managed to make mistakes both with my order and the order of the only other customer.
The worst Thai food I’ve ever had. I would leave the review at all but I feel like they need to step up on their food, ingredients. The oil they use is horrible and honestly it’s just bad. Even something simple like Tom yum soup came with bunch of shrimp and big pieces of onion and sweet. Papaya salad was not fresh.
I had the worst experience at this restaurant. first of all they couldn’t get there Tom ka soup (the chicken coconut soup…it was Soooo sweet. I’ve never had anything so sweet in my life. It was sweeter than any dessert I’ve ever had …crazy!! sweet….after I mentioned to the waitress that it was just too sweet, She took the two soups that my wife and I had ordered back and brought them back to us as if they had redone the soups less sweet. They were exactly the same if not worse with actually less Stock than was in the bowls before taking them back…They must’ve lost the stock in the process..meaning the vegetables, chicken, etc. that was in the soup. Horrible experience, terrible service. felt like a real tourist trap especially for someone that lives here that is familiar with Thai food. Also, we were never asked if we would like something to drink, not to mention how high the prices were. So ridiculously priced!!
Espere 40 minutos para una orden take away, la cajera vio que estaba con una bebé eaperando afuera, entre a preguntar y recien se pusieron a prepararlo, una falta de respeto. Todo mal hecho, mal armado, no vuelvo nunca mas
