A great place to have drinks and great food. It’s a hidden gem great for happy hours or a dinner. They have outside tables that gives you a cozy feeling. Service is great, very friendly people.
Walking in the are stumbled across it and came in after having a beer decided to have dinner. The mussels were delicious didn’t expect that many. We had salmon also and old fashion
Went on a Saturday at 11am Cute place, tiny parking lot, additional parking across the street. Indoor/outdoor seating. I tried the frittatas this time but my whole table loved their food. From the burgers, to the eggs Benedict. Will definitely be coming back
I had the grilled cheese, my friend Paul had steak and eggs … and we sent a fried chicken sandwich home to his partner. But the Carmel Popcorn Sundae with Chocolate Covered Bacon? Come onnnnnn….
The second I got out of my car I knew I loved this place. I happened to come on a night where a live band “The French Horn Connection” was playing and I could see the globe stringed lights in the patio area. The staff and service was wonderful. Thank you Bianca, Christian, Will and bar manager for making this experience excellent. We enjoyed happy hour items such as the aged charcuterie board and salad wedge. The Rosemary’s Kiss and Up My Alley were tasty as well the bartenders put the extra effort in concocting. The ambiance and decor was eclectic with like a 20’s vibe. Very nice place!
Charming and inviting restaurant with excellent food and tasty cocktails. They make you feel right at home with a self-serve barrel of Parmesan cheese that diners can take chunks from gratuitously and that’s fun and different. Food is on the pricier side, an appetizer and 2 main dishes totaled $75, which is comparable for the quality of ingredients, preparation, and the portion sizes. They have a great looking bar and ample patio seating as well. My husband and I enjoyed a quiet date night with lovely jazz and good food here.
Sherwoods is situated in a nice little neighbourhood. It was our first time back at this spot in over 3 years and it was sad to see that it was not that busy. The service was stellar, nothing to complain about there. The cheese wheel is a UNIQUE aspect of this spot which enhances the dining experience. The portions are veryyyyy big for every single dish, nobody at the table finished their meal. But every dish was very tasty, from the salad, to the seafood and other mains. The banana pudding was also fantastic…and portion again was huge! Definitely share some dishes here as you won’t be able to finish them, unless…..
Very very impressive brunch spot! I really love my French toast, very milky, eggy and soft. The cinnamon butter is great as well. I totally finished all of my food even though their portion is pretty big. I highly recommend the French Toast. All my family enjoyed their foods as well, which are Grilled Cheese, Duck Hash & Egg, Steak & Eggs and Egg & Waffle. If you are nearby, this is great place for brunch.
What a unexpected and beautiful surprise this place was. Imagine you go back in time as soon as you walk in, to 1950’s... at first you are scared, then mesmerized, then intrigued... and when they bring the food you are just like poooffff mindblown.... everything is delicious!!!!! The beautiful thing is that even though everything is antic/vintage (not to say old) it is clean. Every detail has an intention, a story. Ask the server to tell you! 😋
Sherwoods provided us with a truly fabulous experience. We ordered online in advance and picked up our Thanksgiving dinner, so that we could enjoy it at home. We highly recommend Sherwoods. Our dinner was delicious, crafted with great care and quality ingredients. We will definitely continue to support Sherwoods in our community. Thank you!!!
The food was delicious and the service was really great!! I recommend the daily crudo and the caramel ice cream thing- the chocolate bacon is strangely good but that caramel popcorn is everything 😍 if you can go and get some food here 😋
This is a great spot for brunch, dinner and happy hour! Highly recommended. Our server extraordinaire was fantastic and made sure we were well taken care of. We had the huevos rancheros - a whole other level of huevos rancheros!!! The portion size is large enough to share and very very very tasty! We also had the French toast, perfectly toasted, cinnamon butter...WHAT?! Yes. Cinnamon butter y’all. I walked out of there with a full and very satisfied tummy. Also, the outdoor seating is very spacious and great. The indoor seating Is well spaced out as well. It’s a beautiful space to be in - Art Deco! During this Pandemic this place is a gem. @SwethaDoesYoga
First time here. Incredible food and great service. I had the gnocchi and had no idea gnocchi could taste this good. My friend had pappardelle with duck and loved it. Our waiter was Khalil and he was great. Friendly, very accommodating, nice personality. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I was tasked to look for a restaurant that we would enjoy. I chose this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The location and ambiance was nice. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Ozzie, the manager. Great welcome and we immediately felt at home as he continued to make sure we were good. Although inside looked very nice, we asked to sit outside in their patio area and it was beautiful! Music was on point and the night carried itself away. Not only did Ozzie make it a great night, our waiter, Randall was equally amazing. He was very attentive! Checked on us regularly to make sure everything was okay. He also made sure to answer any questions we had regarding the menu all with a smile on his face. We are big on customer service and this is a huge plus for us to return to any restaurant. Now on to the food: Great! See the pictures! Food was satisfying and cooked exactly how we asked. Everything tasted really good. They do have options if you don't eat meat, just ask. The overall setting was a plus and very pleasant. We will most definitely be back and we couldn't have enjoyed ourselves even more than we did!
Nice lay back restaurant, the service is awesome hand down. They welcome you at the door and make sure to check on you every so often. My bf and i went there yesterday for an early valentine dinner. He had the steak and i had the butcher's wife. Both meats were cooked exactly how we ordered and the garlic mash was to die for. Will definitely recommend
The decor is splendid. Very warm and home feeling. Great lighting and outdoor seating. Lovely bathrooms. I had a very fresh salad and delicious mocktail made by a very nice bartender. The manager was also very polite and friendly, he greeted us and made sure everything was alright. Over all delightful experience. Definetly going again.
Sherwood's is a local favorite of ours. There is a variety of delicious food from different cultures, which is a hard thing to do. They also make great cocktails. I have tried many different entrees and they have all been amazing. Combine that with a great ambience and you have an amazing restaurant!
Sunday brunch at this place is amazing. We were a group of 10 people, we sat outside to enjoy the nice weather, the waitress also turned on the fans. The food was great! Best huevos rancheros in Miami, the eggs Benedict delicious! ,they even had a vegetarian option for eggs benedict. We had an amazing time, the service was 5 stars, everyone was very nice, our waitress was delightful... It was delicious and exactly what I ordered.
Love, love, love this place! We arrived without reservations - not knowing they take reservations and we're seated in th bar area. No problem. Happy hour! $18 1" thick NY Strip w/ fries! This place has only been open to the public for a couple of weeks but felt like a finely tuned machine. Part of the same restaurant family as Morgan's, Black Sheep and Taco vs. Burrito. Friendly, gracious, hard-working young staff!
I love this place. Best old fashioned cocktails. Service is always great. Ambiance is very cool. Antique looking with many unique details. Food is also good. I've been for lunch and happy hour.
Loved our experience here! The drinks, food and service were all SO good! Great ending to a day in Miami. We got the 2nd Ave Skillet, PEI Mussels and a side of Bistro Fries, Pappardelle with Duck Ragu and Gnocchi. Definitely think the Mussels could be on the "For the Table" portion of the menu because they were huge!
I went there because my son was previously with a friend of mine and he had a club chicken sandwich that he loved so I wanted to know the restaurant myself. We went Sunday night and the menu was different ( dinner) and they did not have the chicken sandwich but for our surprise the waitress talked to the Chief and he kindly prepared the club sandwich for my son. I had a wonderful big Greek salad and we were very happy to have choosen Sherwoods Bistro for our night out Sunday dinner.
Very nice place. Loved the decor especially the Cuban tile flooring. Sammy was our server. He was very welcoming and pleasant. Very knowledgeable of the menu. The food was prepared to perfection.
Went for a celebration brunch. Had a lovely time. The portions are huge but the food was Devine and very fair prices! The bartender entertained us with a flaming round of shots too :)
Great Experience! Our waiter Zaf was a delight! So rare to get such good service in Miami! The flatbread was exceptional; loved the caramelized onions. Chicken parmesan sliders were fresh & tasty. Burger was cooked to perfection. Delicious onion soup. The little river ramen was excellent & the leftovers reaheated perfectly today for breakfast. Chief's bowl & St. Tropez grilled cheese were also good. We had lots of leftovers & will be enjoying them today! Don't forget to order dessert. The sundae with carmelized popcorn was terrific & ample enough to share.
One of my favorite places! Beautiful ambiance and delicious menu. Food portions are HUGE, prices are very decent, service is fantastic! Live music is always a plus!
Amazing food and the service was top notch! It is hidden so make sure to pay attention if you never been here before. Very antique looking! They give you large portions of food so make sure you come hungry.
Trendy, funky with an outstanding menu for all. Every dish looked savory. Stephen, our amazing waiter, guided me to The Butchers Wife, a bone on pork chop atop greens and garlic mashed potato. The Florida Grouper, wife's selection, was amazing, bursting with flavor. A perfect blend!
Our first time dining at Sherwoods and we can't wait to come back! Everything we ordered was excellent - appetizers, dinner and dessert. We sat outside and the service and dinner was great!!
I’ve eaten here several times and always a great experiance. I’ve had the bone marrow appetizer, the Raman noodle soup with candied pork, and organic chicken tender platter. They were all very good!!! Also, the tender platter is big enough for 4 NO JOKE - IT’S HUGE.
Tried Sherwoods for the first time last night and had a great experience. The restaurant was very accommodating to our party and we felt very well taken care of by the entire staff, especially Diego as our server, shoutout to him, he is the best! The food was a nice surprising variety between non-traditional comfort style and a twist on some traditional dishes. There are family style options as well as several meatless/vegetarian options. I highly recommend the chef bowl. There is also live music during dinner that creates a nice ambiance. Something to note, the climate of the restaurant was extremely warm, it may have been because we were sitting near the kitchen but just something to mention to management, we are normally cold natured but we all found it to be uncomfortably hot.
We were a large group of more than 12 so we took up most of the outside area. It had picnic tables an cute small tables. Happy hour was so good! The appetizers were well portioned and delicious. Service was very attentive and helpful. All around a great time. Only draw back is, if you're outside you might get bit by mosquitoes at dusk. Would recommend for happy hour !
I Stopped here for Brunch and was very pleasantly surprised at how great the food was and the prices were on point! Great amount of food for a decent price and a great drink menu. There are so many breakfast/brunch options you can easily go here again and again to try them all. On top of that, the service we received was outstanding. Definitely recommend! Sitting outside to enjoy the last day of the week, drinking mimosa...it's the best way to end the week. I would go definitely return here again!
We had a great dinner here tonight! Anna was a wonderful server knew all about the menu and the interesting history of the odds and ends of the restaurant. It has great atmosphere with historic architectural pieces mixed together. I had chicken pot pie that was exactly what it was supposed to be… comfort food. My husband had the verde gnocchi that was so yummy. The banana pudding to finish was perfect! Great date night!
Such a beautiful place to go have dinner. We were great greeted by Ozzy, the Manager, and he sure we were well taken care. Our waiter was amazing. The Fish & Chips were so GOOD! Great place to go. Highly recommend.
From the eclectic decor with back stories galore to the quirky but friendly staff, this place is cool without trying (atypical for Miami). The menu offers a decent selection, from a broad appetizer list to tasty entrees at both individual and sharing sizes. The cocktail menu is also worth exploring, with flavorful choices such as the 'whiskey business' and 'smoking gun'. They also have outdoor seating. A great place for a chill evening out, especially for locals trying to avoid tourist overrun.
Super cute place!! The inside is so homey and comfortable, you'd think you were eating at a friends house! They have a great back patio area too with a lot of seats and fans blowing. The food was delicious - I ordered the Sherwood gnocchi and it was amazing. An extra quirk was the big block of parmesan cheese that you get to scrape out of yourself and enjoy with olive oil, balsamic, or honey! Hidden gem in the neighborhood.
Brunch! Lunch! And dinner! I love so much about this place that I don't even know where to begin. As soon as I arrived the first time, Ozzy, the manager greeted all of us in the warmest fashion. Our entire party was seated at the perfect table. Our server was extremely polite and professional right away. The menu had so many delicious options for everyone. I had the Vegan French toast and it was fluffy, crunchy, sweet, just amazing! My kid ate the juiciest burger and ate the whole thing. Our friends loved their chicken & waffles, it looked so freshy and crispy. The mimosas flowed and the overall ambiance was perfect for our Birthday brunch party! I've come several times afterwards, but those were all so good that they deserve their own review to do the experience any justice. I'm going for the live music next time. Thanks Sherwood's! You're my new favorite spot!
This place is gorgeous and very thoughtfully put together decor-wise in a romantic vintage European kind of way. The staff were all so welcoming, friendly and knowledgable about the menu and very attentive. April was our server and she was wonderful, she let us know about Jazz nights on Friday, which we will definitely be back for with family. The food was sooooo good! First course we had the kale salad and the Dandan noodles, then we had the mussels and uptown burger for our entrees. Everything was full of flavor and portions were large. This is a great place to come with a group and order several items from the menu to eat family style. Atmosphere, service and food were on point.
Walked into this hidden gem for the 1st time and I was immediately greeted with a plethora of polite, friendly, knowledgeable and competent staff. The ambiance is rustic, authentic, and charming. The food sizes were large and the drinks were excellent. They have real chefs and real mixologists working here. I had zero complaints. I will definitely be back.
Fantastic place. We were looking for a place near Barry University for late lunch early dinner. We had our dog with us. They were incredibly welcoming. The good was great and the service fantastic. Beyond good service, actually friendly and welcoming. Like the “old” days when you went out to eat and felt like you were taken care of. We live further north but will definitely be back.
It was my first time at Sherwood's Bistro, and It was amazing! I went to the bar, and I was greeted by Dario who made me a specialty Dragon fruit margarita that I really enjoyed. I tried the steak au Poiuvre and it was excellent! Very attentive wait staff and I was greeted by the General manager Ozzie who made sure that my service was exceptional. Great atmosphere with live music playing it was a very relaxing ambiance and romantic to bring a date. this place is a little hidden gem, and I will definitely be returning soon!
Dinner for three April 25th 2019. Wonderful atmosphere inside and out Great cocktails (vintage daiquiri), fantastic food and excellent service. I shared the whole grilled snapper which was fresh & cooked to perfection - plenty to share with a friend My husband had the green papaya steak salad) & I shared the Cesar. Both were excellent. We shared a huge piece of coconut cake. Moist, tasty & not too sweet. We had a great meal & a wonderful evening
This is one of my favorite places in the area. Happy hour is reasonable, music elegant, decor intriguing and staff super pleasant. Most importantly, food is always delicious and consistent. Note: My last two visits, however, left me unimpressed with the manager who is unfriendly and unwilling to go above and beyond. Best way to lose good staff is to manage them poorly. The pleasant staff make this place so great! Take care of them!
If you want excellent service and amazing quality this it’s, definitely , the place! Best cocktails in town by the best bartender, Miguel. Amazing food, you should try the steak, completely out of this world. My recommendation get an old fashioned and the steak and your day will be completed. If you are not sure on what to order, just trust Miguel.
Love love LOVE this place. It's tiny, a hidden gem. They don't try to be overly fancy or pricey, but they sure are high quality. Decor is great, trendy with antique touches and clean, although the vibe maintains a humble homey-ness atmosphere to it. Staff was friendly and attentive. The ceviche was honestly the freshest and one of the best I've ever had... MUST TRY!. and the vegan french toast was better than any non-vegan FT I've tried (seriously, don't be turned off by the word Vegan ... If you like french toast it's worth a try).
I really enjoy this place! Great food and great drinks! Although my go-to lately has been the gnocchi in a pistachio green sauce - it is just soo good! Cool place - we usually like to go for dinner or for a late lunch after spending the morning at the beach.
We had 18 people for our holiday party. Great food! Delicious and interesting! Large portions! We were all so full we couldn’t eat dessert! Great service. Very accommodating. Great ambiance. Our team left happy with the evening which is the most important!
Great service, and food!!! I had the chief's bowl which is vegan and delicious!!! My husband had the Chicken stew, and we split the papaya salad. They serve big portions, and everything was hot and fresh! We will definitely go back.
Every year we visit MIA and we make it a point to go to Sherwoods... our most recent visit 2 weeks ago was above & beyond excellent! Learned about the history of Sherwoods that used to be a bird sanctuary. Food was absolutely amazing per usual and our server Zaf... wow! I hope the owner knows how special you are. Please ask for Zaf next time you go and let him know Vince says hello!
La comida estuvo buenísima, el servicio fue rápido y el camarero fue muy amable. ¡Volveremos!
Adorable bistro named for the indigenous area of nearby Sherwood. French onion soup was legitimate, a rare find. Uptown burger was perfectly cooked, avocado was a nice touch, wished there was a bit more goat cheese. Can’t wait to return to try the ramen on menu.
Nice bistro. Good menu. Smart 1940's and 50's decor. Very good brunch selection. The eggs and waffles dish was delicious. So too were the mimosas. Definitely worth a visit.
This is a fantastic brunch spot! Really liked the atmosphere, though I wasn't a very big fan of the decor. Something about using images of Native Americans as decorations doesn't sit well with me. Other than that, the service was friendly, and the food was well priced for what they offered. The waffles are vanilla, which I loved! And the duck hash was a nice touch that I haven't seen at other restaurants. One thing I will say, is that when it comes to desserts, they do a great job of pairing sweet and savory things like bacon dipped in chocolate or ice cream with popcorn (don't knock till you try it!). Lastly, the way they cook their eggs is amazing. So fluffy! sherwoods might seem like a given, but lots of brunch spots miss the mark. This one didn't. I'll definitely be coming back!
I loved the decor! It took some time for someone to acknowledge us but after that the service was fine. I ordered French toast with a side of bacon and scrambled eggs. I loved it! It was a lot of food and I couldn't finish it all. I loved how they accommodated my cousins request of waffles and chicken. It came separate but she put it together.
What I like in these place: 1. They have variety of soups, that is really rare in Miami. 2. Service 3. Meat plate is perfect if you want to drink wine with friends. What I don’t like: 1. Smell inside 2. Outside they have only 2 tables but you can’t be there because of mosquitoes After all I probably recommend it just to try.
This joint looks like something out of Nola or NYC because of its eclectic design with materials from all over the world and a space with some history to it. The tiles, the ceiling, the bar, the patio and the bathroom are so unique. As soon as I walked in the manager welcomed me and gave me a quick tour of the place and explained some of its history and design. There’s a beautiful patio in the back for outdoor seating that’s one of the best outside areas I’ve seen in the city. One of the highlights of the evening is the complimentary Parmesan cheese wheel to indulge in all the cheese you’d like. Now let’s talk about food because the service alone is top notch and I have to thank Diego for being most attentive and helpful server. So here’s what I had… She is not a Gentleman(cocktail): I asked Diego for a nicely presented cocktail and he did not disappoint. Bartender shows up with all kinds of gadgets and put on quite a show for me including flames so that was awesome. The cocktail is very refreshing and somewhat spicy but the presentation is what did it for me so 10/10. Chorizo, Feta and Tomato Salad: I was excited about this combo and though everything goes well together the execution wasn’t the best. The chorizo wasn’t ground but instead cut in big chunks and it overpowered the entire dish. They also added cucumbers and these were also cut in big chunks so the entire dish was too clunky for my taste. It didn’t feel like a salad even though it was flavorful especially because of the feta cheese. The portion is huge so two people can easily share this an appetizer because if I had finished this salad I probably couldn’t have even able to try the main dish. If they would cut chorizo into smaller pieces, perhaps less chorizo would be better, and or use ground chorizo instead and also dice cucumbers into smaller pieces then the dish could definitely be more appetizing. Pappardelle: this dish I have no complaints about and I’m glad I chose this instead of the Bouillabaisse because they don’t play around with portions and the fish stew could be shared between three people at least. The pasta was cooked to perfection accompanied by juicy Italian sausage, mushrooms and to add the cherry on top, truffle. This dish is hearty, mouthwatering and very tasty. Affogato: well this is one of those desserts that are not too complicated and hard to mess up so not a lot to say about it other than you could make this at home. I opted for it because I was stuffed out of my mind and didn’t have room for anything filling. I would love to come back for the Bouillabaisse to share and enjoy with friends and a few other cocktails that caught my eye as well as other menu items that sound delish. This joint is also perfect for a date night with friends or your significant other.
Beautiful ambience....a hidden gem right on NE 2nd in Little Haiti. Very friendly waitress. My gorgonzola sandwich was a bit too pungent but my friends loved their meals (lobster tail sandwich a s Greek salad). Great garden out back too. Will come back again!
Great place, excellent service, nice environment. The Caesar salad was good, not great. It lacked oomph! The cow au vin also was good, not great. A bit dry and the sauce was not as rich and flavorful as I'd hoped. The Malbec was excellent and a good value, as well. I think I remember it having been great my first time, so I'll give it another shot. Definitely worth a try.
We had a reservation, but the seats happened to be at the center of an old desk (unique furniture). But, it wasn't comfortable because our knees wedged between the drawers and the chairs unless we set our chairs a foot and a half away (not conducive to eating over your plate). We waited to try to get a seat by the bar, but after half an hour we gave up. Finally, we found a table out back just outside the door to the right. The weather was perfect and there was a speaker playing music at the perfect level for our group to enjoy and still be able to chat. Dinner was delicious. We all shared the Sherwood Salad. Everyone enjoyed it. The veggie burger was great. The Chief's Bowl was huge and super yummy, even again today as leftovers. The only negative outside was people smoking cigarettes while we ate. Yuck.
Cool place, cool ambient... Food should improve but salads where big plates, service definitely should improve. Went there Saturday night the waiter forgot to tell us that the salad didn't had tuna, they took too long. Prices are ok.. but wine is super expensive!
They assume people know to seat themselves d they assume people know to help themselves with bread and cheese. The French onion soup was good. The Sherwood sour was good but sweet and cant taste alcohol goes through fast. I rather had gotten whiskey straight and most the good was average like the whole snapper. The rabbit pot pie didnt taste like rabbit and didnt have much breading and wasnt creamy but very meat based. It was alright. The portions though are really good for the price. It was a pain having to pause $5 to park for the restaurant. It was a homie looking place but it is pretty big and was hardly anyone there. The later the night get the more people came because luckily it stays open until midnight.
Good for drinks but I was not a fan of the food. The serving sizes are generous but in terms of flavor everything seemed to miss the mark. I’d come back for happy hour but I would definitely go elsewhere for a bite to eat. There’s plenty of great places within walking distance.
The food was very good - highly recommend that part. The service was not. The drinks we ordered never came. After our food arrived, no one ever walked over to check to see if we needed anything. When we asked for our drinks to be removed from the bill because they never came, the acknowledgment we received was “ok.” The table next to us received an apology and discount from the manager. Not sure if others did or not, but we did not. We will go back in the future to try again because it’s a local spot that we want to support, but disappointing experience.
Sherwoods is a great spot for drinks and the ambiance but the dinner menu is lacking in quality. I really hope they can make some changes to their menu and bring the food quality up to par with the rest. Other than that, it’s a cool little spot—outside area is also very inviting.
Me and my wife have been here many times and we love the patio where we can chill w our pup, the vibe and jazz on sundays are amazing and the drinks are great, the food tho is kind of lame. The new chef doesnt know what eggs in the hole is lmao. The first time we ordered it it was a just whole in the bun and a egg in the sandwhich , today it was the bottom half no whole lol no bun no egg in hole no attempt. Chef needs to ride. Menu is great and drinks is great too and so is service actual food is trash, keep it moving and keep in touch w em and hopefully they get rid of the chef, also chef has no concept of temperature or how to prepare eggs , over easy eggs were burnt dry.
We came at prime time. The service was good. Food was not as expected. I ordered steak au poivre (medium) and it was over cooked. All the other dishes were ok. The bathrooms weren’t clean enough. Decor is cozy. Good ambiance and music. Ceiling needs to be repaired.
Just average. We enjoyed the dinner with friends; nice atmosphere. I was under impressed with the food and wine; esp the prices. Service should have been more attentive also. Half chicken (boneless except for the wing). Overcooked. $30. I was expecting half a rotisserie chicken. Where's the leg? (Where is my photo?)
Horrible experience. We were a large party. Waited over 20 more for our drinks. Appetizers came first without drinks! The Sherwood salad was disgusting. Didn't offer us dessert and we were celebrating 2 birthdays. Checks were wrong. They added a 20% tip but didn't show it that way on the bill, then we added another 20%. They had to redo the checks. I would not go back to Sherwood. Now I understand why it was not busy.
I’ve eaten here before when it’s been great but last night many things were off - from the kitchen, wait staff and management attitude. Both food and drinks arrived at the table missing ingredients. Calamari came out without sauce, old fashions without orange zest…I ordered the Uptown burger and it came out without guacamole or goat cheese. Mentioned it politely to the waiter and he took my plate to the kitchen. He came back out to relay the chef’s message dryly - “sorry that’s how it’s prepared”? How hard would it have been to put a dab of goat cheese on it…and is it worth insulting your patrons when you’re the one who messed up? We asked if we could move to an outside table and they told us they all had reservations arriving any minute. When we were leaving 40 minutes later we could see they were all mostly empty. They have a lot of work to do.
Everything we ordered wasn't particularly good and it was prepare in a nonsensical heavy, overdone way. Soba salad was very cold, heavy, dull in flavor. Root veggies were the best. Flatbread was heavy but tasty. Charcuterie was good.
Nice place but food quality is average at most. Salad looks like the one you will get on a plane. They were missing ingredients in two of 4 plates. Waffle seemed microwaved plus presentation was terrible.
The setting is very nice indoor outdoor seating is great. The bar is funky and fun. The beer taps eh not so much seems like kegs are always old. The dinner menu misses on quality and preparation. Some fresh warm bread to start and more attention to the sauces and fats used would go a long way to improve. Nothing like its cousin Morgan’s that is 100 times better.
Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to our expectations. We tried it on a Sunday at 3:00 PM, and they were still serving brunch until 4, but the place was nearly empty; I’d suggest rethinking their strategy because I wouldn’t think of having brunch this late HERE. I order a chicken sandwich, massive lots of chicken but no taste. My wife had the salmon, one of the most boring plates I’ve ever seen… my wife’s been here plenty of times, and it was nice, I got here today for the first one, and I’m not coming back.
Brought friends from out of town and wish I hadn’t. Made a reservation a week in advance for an indoor table, was subsequently put outside by a strange manager who looked like a deer in headlights Chicken tenders were bland and the Steak Frites were all cooked well done though we all asked for medium. Slow service, ordered a drink before the meal arrived, received it after the plates were picked up. Service charge of 20% was “mandatory”
I really wanted to visit and enjoy this place based on reviews. I drove there and parked on north parking lot. A valet immediately hit me up for 5 bucks just for me to park in a lot. Little did I know he was the only person working at Sherwood's. We walked in and two chicks were talking for 2-3 minutes at what I assumed was the host stand. There was no line. They completely ignored us. Then we walked around for a few minutes and eventually just sat in the back. We sat there for 15 minute completely invisible to the staff. We had to walk to the bar and ask if there are any employees. They said they shut down the kitchen because brunch was too busy. It was 5:30 and brunch was well over. I guess brunch killed the chef. Apparently all the servers took it as an opportunity to ignore everyone. There was a table next to us equally confused We eventually left and walked across the street to the citadel. Thankfully it opened with a ton of Resturants to eat at. I highly encourage people to go across the street. At the least the employees appreciate you enough to serve you like their jobs. Updated - we figured why not try it again and the resturant was empty the guy said you need reservations and no tables. Too much drama for me to be giving them my money.
We had a bad and disappointing experience on Mother's Day. The staff and waiter were disrespectful. The waiter told from far away that we had to wait 10 minutes before he could take care of us. When he finally came to greet us, the first thing he said was that we could stay no longer than 1 hour and 15 minutes. The guests at a table next to us had already waited a long time and were frustrated as well. We decided to leave and went somewhere else. We will not go back and do not recommend.
When I first entered Sherwoods, I was impressed by the rustic / hipster ambiance they had created. I also really liked the free for all of cheese as an appetizer, but after that, things went steadily down hill. I was part of large party, one of us being 8 months pregnant. We ordered the noodles, mashed potatoes and a few other things to share. The food took about 90 minutes to be served, which is a long time in my book. Once we started eating, one of us spit out a metal folicle from a scouring pad in the noodles!! upon presenting it to the waiter, who was very sweet, he analyzed it and then dropped it and lost it. After this we had all lost our appetite as we were searching for more pieces of metal as we ate, and were especially concerned for our pregnant friend. The host of the evening was extremely arrogant when, in compensation for the contamination, offered our large table 1 free dessert. We all agreed this simply would not do, and when he came back we said we would not like to pay for just the noodle bowl ($40). He agreed, and then as they were clearing the table spilled a full glass of red wine all over one of our shirts / pants (I will not say who to protect the innocent). suffice to say the shirt was ruined, our host in his infinite wisdom, offered our Large table 3 cookies for the egregious mistake, and did not take off the bottle of wine. Honestly, I think these folks don't understand customer service, and as a Miami native, one who has lived in little Haiti before, I have had several great meals at the surrounding authentic non-flashy restaurants in the neighborhood. This is a prime example of a business trying to capitalize off of a trend of working class artists and gentrifying a historically Haitian community. Suffice to say, I don't think many people that live in the neighborhood of Sherwoods would ever eat there / could regularly afford to eat there. Its a glowing light for upper-middle class yuppies to say they had a wonderful night in Little Haiti, once in their life, in a safe space where they spent a lot of money. Sherwoods, the ball is in your court-
We were there 9/23… Nothing to write home about . Service was slow , they forgot our drinks, fries we ordered.Try to sell you a upscale bar restaurant with comfort food. I ordered cheese burger, cheese smelled rotten. Burger was nothing special, bf ordered grilled cheese with bacon. Cheese smelled and tasted rotten. It was basically all bread. I couldn’t even get eat it . I Should have walked right out after walking in and the place was dead on a Sunday afternoon! $200+ for mediocre food. You’re better off to flanigans than this place. Better food , better prices ! Trust me!
I have been to this restaurant many times, and it’s always been great. Unfortunately, it looks like the new management is really thirsty. We sat in the happy hour section, ordered a red and a rose wine within the happy hour window and yet we’re charged full price without a heads up. We paid, but it was evident we were scammed. It’s a shame because we’ve been there countless times and liked it. Beware, because happy hour wine is whatever they decide even if you are in the happy hour section, within the happy hour menu and time. Classic Miami Hussle. No cap.
