Avis sur Smith & Wollensky Miami
I’ve visited Smith & Wollensky four times over the past few years, and every single visit has been memorable. This is a high-end dining experience. The food is exceptional, rich in flavour, beautifully prepared, and clearly made with top-quality ingredients. It’s definitely on the higher price point, but the taste, consistency, and overall experience makes every outing more than just a meal. It’s an experience. One of the standout features is the location. The restaurant offers stunning views of the canal, where you can watch boats and cruise ships glide out to sea. Whether you choose indoor or outdoor dining, the atmosphere is impressive and memorable. The staff are incredibly professional, polished, and attentive. Service is seamless and thoughtful from start to finish. Smith & Wollensky is the perfect spot for special occasions or when you want something truly memorable.
This is a top spot for waterside fine dining. The views and atmosphere are fantastic, quiet and intimate, and the service was fenomenal, from the hostess to the bartender who made the best mojitos I’ve ever had, and our waitress was great. The food was so flavorful every single plate was 10/10 and we eat out a lot. We got the carpaccio, octopus, filet mignon, duck confit, for dessert the apple crumble and crème brûlée. Even the table bread was to die for. Total for the three of us was short of $400 and we algo got 4-5 drinks total. Amazing night.
Absolutely flawless from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, everything about this place felt exceptional. The atmosphere is welcoming, elegant, and thoughtfully designed, creating the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. The food was simply outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented, perfectly balanced, and full of flavor. You can truly taste the quality of the ingredients and the care put into each plate. From the first bite to the last, everything exceeded expectations. What truly elevates this restaurant, though, is the service. The staff was attentive, professional, warm, and genuinely kind always present without being intrusive. You can tell they take pride in what they do and truly care about the guest experience. This is the kind of place where excellence is felt in every detail: food, service, ambiance, and overall experience. Highly recommended, and without a doubt, a place I will be returning to. Impeccable in every sense.
Smith & Wollensky at South Pointe Park is an absolute hidden gem. We had one of the best hamburgers we’ve ever eaten, served on crisp white tablecloths with top-tier service—all for $22, including French fries that tasted house-made, along with homemade-style ketchup and mustard. Pickles and coleslaw are included, which just adds to the value. While we were there on a Sunday around noon, we saw other tables enjoying tomahawk steaks and massive seafood towers, and it was clear this place delivers at every level—from a simple burger to a full luxury dining experience. The setting is unbeatable. You’re right on the water, watching ships pass through Government Cut, which makes for fantastic people-watching. The outdoor seating is shaded, so you’re not baking in the sun, and the indoor dining room is equally impressive. This is a true high-end steakhouse, whether you’re dressed casually for lunch or going all-out for a special occasion. Get there early and make reservations, because the place fills up quickly—especially the waterfront seats. You will not be disappointed.
The most impeccable service we’ve ever received at a restaurant. Yes the food and the view were phenomenal but still outshined by how good the service was! Thank you to Ivan and Dulce as well as the host/hostess team (sorry we did not catch your name). From the moment we walked in we were treated like VIP. My mom was a little self-conscious that we were underdressed but the atmosphere ranged from elevated casual to more upscale. The host treated us so well, when we requested a table outside he offered to show us both the upstairs balcony and the tables by the water and let us decide. We chose upstairs for the beautiful sunset view and the serene elevated atmosphere away from the traffic of the park. The service was so friendly and warm, the food was fantastic and everything was brought exactly at the right time. My mom proclaimed the Wollensky Salad was the best salad she’d ever had! Our Filet Oscar was cooked perfectly and the crab, asparagus and hollandaise were all delicious accompaniments. The only thing we weren’t crazy for was the potatoes gratin, but they were still yummy! The complementary parker house rolls were a delicious starter, so buttery and perfectly seasoned with herbs and parmesan. We will definitely be returning for my mom’s next visit! Thank you so much for your hospitality!
What can I say about this place that people aren’t already saying. It’s a great place for a slow lunch and enjoy the scenery, this was a cold day in miami (coldest on record) however the waitress Jennifer made us very comfortable and quickly got us our food. The place is a must go to in miami. It’s part of the miami culture. The view is amazing, You can see the cruise ships pass right through the waterway and if you’re lucky you can see schools of dolphins jumping out of the water. After we ate we enjoyed some drinks by the water, very attentive and very good. Must try. Oh I had the burger and lobster roll both which I can tell you are superb ! Must Try
Dining at Smith & Wollensky Miami Beach was fantastic! The steaks were perfectly cooked, the oceanfront views were stunning, and the service was attentive and friendly. A top-tier Miami Beach dining experience. ⭐🥩🌊 One of several iconic restaurants in South Beach. Excellent meal and service. Top 3 steak and best mashed potatoes ever. Unfortunately the wait for outside dinning was over 2 hours
We had such a great dinner for our social party of 18. The steaks were cooked perfectly, the sides were delicious, and the atmosphere was beautiful. Miguel G and René took amazing care of us attentive, friendly, and always on point. Their service truly made the night special
THIS PLACE. Outstanding on all fronts. Drinks well made and generous. (Thanks William). Steak perfectly cooled. “Angry onions” worth the Uber ride for. Sat at the outside bar and enjoyed the mix of locals with their dogs, beach weary tourists and people enjoying a dinner on the water. I’ll come back every time I’m in Miami Beach.
My family and I went to celebrate a birthday and it was an overall great experience. Miguel G and Rene were very attentive, and always around right when you needed something without hovering. They kept the vibe fun the whole night and made sure the birthday felt special. Great food and great energy. Nights like this are why we keep coming back.
Food was excellent. I had Crab cake and the New York strip steak, 16 oz, it was amazingly tasty, juicy and good! The grancake had very nice acid sauce on side, that was giving great hit for the dish. I was sitting outside, with beautiful riverside view to rhe city skyline. It was really worth of coming.
Anniversary dinner and we went all in! we got a perfectly cooked porterhouse. Miguel G and Rene brought this easy, upbeat energy all night, giving us space to just enjoy being us. Everything was perfect: the view, the atmosphere, even the host set the tone from the moment we walked in. We come every year, and it’s still our favorite place in Miami. Honestly, it turned into one of those nights you don’t want to end! ✨
Our dinner at Smith & Wollensky – Miami Beach was nothing short of unforgettable. The food was outstanding — perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Every dish we tried was a hit, from the seafood tower(must have) to the steaks and sides. What truly made the night special, though, was the incredible service. Miguel and Marco went above and beyond to make our evening perfect. Their warm hospitality, thoughtful recommendations, and attention to detail elevated the entire experience. Thanks to them, this turned out to be the best night of our trip to Miami. If you're planning a visit, I highly recommend requesting Miguel and Marco as your servers — they’ll make your evening one to remember. We can’t wait to come back!
On a whim, I went. S&W did not disappoint. Sitting outside while watching the water and petting the dogs while passing by was a special treat. The food was simply delicious. Emily, our server was spot on with service while reading our table of two right off the bat. We just split a wedge salad complete with tasted like Maytag Bleu. Emily was more than accommodating and did not rush use one bit, hats off to Emily.
This place needs no review, it’s a classic, awesome interior right on the water, the staff is just a delight, the food always hits! I had the Cajun burger yesterday and I must say delish not so Cajun-y per se but just a nice group of flavors between a tasty bun!
Hands down one of the best steak houses in existence. Interior decor and atmosphere is great - very spacious. Service was great. Steaks were cooked to perfection. Food was excellent. Delicious.
I'm thoroughly impressed with my first solo dinner experience at Smith & Wollensky! From the moment I took my first bite of the Wagyu carpaccio, I knew I was in for a treat. The flavors were expertly balanced, and the presentation was stunning. The Long Bone Wagyu filet was cooked to perfection, and the accompanying bone marrow and asparagus were a match made in heaven. The service was top-notch - attentive without being overbearing, and my server checked in at just the right moments. What truly stood out was the quality of the Wagyu, paired with excellent execution from the Chef putting it on par with some of the best Wagyu steak houses in Japan (and I've been to my fair share!). While it might not take the number one spot on my worldwide steakhouse list, it's definitely a solid top 5. If you're looking for a high-end dining experience with impeccable service and exceptional food, Smith & Wollensky is a must-visit. Definitely going to come back to try different cuts of meat!
My buddy and I sat outside with a waterfront view. It was outstanding. The vodka martini was perfect and so was the Wagu Fillet Mignon as well as the asparagus! The Keylime Pie and a glass of port were also delicious and a nice way to finish our meal. It's expensive as hell....but it's really an outstanding experience.
Took my wife here for her birthday dinner and sat outside for the sunset and watched the cruises go by. Everything was spectacular, especially the service! Miguel U our server and Chris the bartender made the experience extra special. The food was fantastic.
Had a good time at Smith and Wollensky; I wanted to sit outdoors and try some appetizers. The food was good, I really liked the bread they provide, the clam chowder was my favorite of the three things I ordered. Forewarning; the birds will hound you if you choose to sit outside. I loved their location, watching the boats go by was lovely. Pricey location for a cocktail hour snack; for Bowl of Clam Chowder and two small appetizers (The shrimp came with three pieces of jumbo shrimp and the scallops come with 4 scallops) my total was $80.
Every once in a while, we get the bikes, and come all the way from surfside just to eat some good food and appreciate the view. Always a good time, same spot, same table, every year. Good food, nice views and friendly waiters. The price is high, but for the full experience, it’s worth it when it’s sunny!
Loved this place. Dry aged steak was phenomenal! Ordered a 44 oz Porterhouse steak and a lobster tail and slammed it all along with a chocolate cake. Overate a bit, yes. Great service! Beautiful setting! Phenomenal food!
My wife and I went back to Smith & Wollensky for the second time and we loved it all over again. The food was seriously top notch, everything came out perfect. Shoutout to Joaquin and Emrek! They were so kind and welcoming and honestly made the whole night feel extra special. Their service 10/10 🙌
Had a phenomenal meal here last week-end! The food was amazing and the service even better. Our waiter was Jose Emre and was great. He was attentive and made the meal that much better. Highly recommend.
The food was delicious and the view made the whole experience even better. Laura S y Paolo were amazing super kind, attentive, and always checking in at the right moments. They made our dinner feel smooth and enjoyable.
We recently enjoyed a delightful date lunch here. We absolutely loved the place, it exceeded all expectations. Marco T. has been taking care of us and he made sure our experience was absolutely fantastic. He had informed us the restaurant has been open for over 40 years and it was a pleasure to be guests of such authentic historical Miami place with breathtaking views, great food and flawless service. Our culinary journey began with super fresh shrimp cocktail and beef tartar which happened to arrive with bone marrow😋 Mind blowing delicious. For our main courses, we had tender salmon and a perfectly cooked steak. Each dish was expertly prepared and bursting with flavor. Extensive wine selection catered to match every pallet and to pair with the entire food menu. If you are a cocktail lover, martinis were deluded and mixed to perfection. Though not inexpensive, every penny spent was justified by the exceptional quality of the experience. We were very satisfied, already planning our return visit.
We were walking through South Beach Park and ran across this restaurant and decided to stop for a drink and an appetizer. After being seated, we were warmly greeted by Jose who stated he was working with Emre. Jose went over several menu recommendations, thoroughly explaining each one. We mentioned we were just having a light meal and he was just as accommodating. We decided on French Onion soup made with oxtail, Pea soup and Octopus with an Espresso Martini and Tennessee Side Car for drinks and finished with Vanilla Creme Brulee, an Espresso with a side pour of Liqupr 43 and another Espresso Martini. Everything was AMAZING! The drinks were perfect, the French Onion Soup was the best I've ever had and my wife said the pea soup was really good and the Octopus was some of the best she's ever had and being that she is Portuguese and has Octopus often, that is really saying something! What really made our dining experience the very best, was the service provided by Jose and Emre. They provided service that was friendly, informative, efficient and super fun! I highly recommend this restaurant! If you dine here, ask for Jose and Emre, they will guide you through the amazing menu options and provide you with a perfect dining experience. We will definitely be back!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Smith & Wollensky - Miami Beach is the perfect spot for both celebration and business! After a successful training session, our Drone Training School team loves dining here to unwind and enjoy the amazing food, stunning ambiance, and breathtaking waterfront views. It’s also our go-to for client meetings—there’s nothing like discussing business over a perfectly cooked steak while soaking in the Miami vibe. The location is ideal, offering a serene atmosphere that inspires creativity and productivity. Plus, the surrounding area is great for flying drones, which adds a unique touch to our work! Highly recommend this spot for anyone seeking incredible food, a professional yet relaxed environment, and unmatched views. Smith & Wollensky never disappoints!
We had dinner here last week and had a wonderful experience. Miguel and Eugene were our servers, and they were absolutely fantastic—friendly, attentive, and always checking in at just the right moments. Their service truly stood out and made the evening feel effortless and enjoyable. We dined on the patio, which had a gorgeous ambience, and watching the sunset over the water was the perfect backdrop for dinner. Between the beautiful setting and the exceptional service, it was an evening we really enjoyed.
Jose y daniel Served us for new years We sat outside and The service was amazing and went out of the way We got the bake Alaska , he saved us one And the meals and drinks He was able to recommend dishes and drinks And was so personable His personality was like a manager He attended to us and made us feel like family I come to this restaurant about once a month for the past 2 decades The experience has been amazing
Such a nice evening celebrating our Anniversary. We were told no wait, then there was a wait but then when we got to the outdoor seating area, they made sure to seat us right away. The food was delicious as were the drinks (espresso martini, lemon drop martini and the bottle of wine). Will definitely be going back.
I am in Miami Beach for the weekend. Was looking for something a little higher end and was referred somewhere, but go to that place and unfortunately it wasn’t open yet. Quick google search provided me Smith & Wollensky. The shrimp cocktail is one of the best I’ve had, the bread for the table was quite delicious, and the truffle fries were super good. I got the 10oz standard filet and it was solid. We had two servers, not sure if that’s normal or if one was being trained, however both were very nice and attentive. They had east coast oysters on the menu and we ordered them, but unfortunately I didn’t react quickly enough as I was focused on the shrimp and I didn’t get anyway. I ordered a lobster tail as a side for my steak and it was the only disappointing part. The lobster tail was pretty mid, however it was only $19 and I’m use to paying at least double if not quadruple that, so I wasn’t upset. As for a table by the water. Great views. Even got to see the world’s largest cruise ship pass by. Mind you, I’m not exactly into cruise ships but it was so massive it was just cool to see in person.
The best meat which I’ve ever tried 🥩🍷☺️ Place and location is very good..near with the ocean and beach. I wish we come and visit this restaurant again. Tartar was unforgettable and steaks with asparagus was amazing 🤩 Pets friendly restaurant. Waiters and service very kind and respectful 🎉👍❤️ Wanna visit you again guys Thanks Peter for your jokes and amazing service 🫂
Been to a lot of steakhouses in Miami and this is a really solid spot, super consistent across the three times I have been, delicious food. We got the Wagyu filet mignon with lobster tail, dozen oysters, crab cake, tuna tartare. The steak was delicious but idk that it was “Wagyu.” The service was honestly incredible. Manuel was helping us and he was the nicest guy made our Valentine’s Day dinner super nice, good suggestions outstanding service. Will be back
South Pointe Park Oceanview Steakhouse dining on the water. Above average food with a romantic water view. Depending on when you dine, you may get to see cruise ships coming or going from the Port of Miami. The food is above average, but by no means 5 star, especially for the premium prices. Service is also hit and miss. Mostly, you are paying for the location as it is a great date spot in South Pointe Park. We were seated outside, at the far end of the dining area, which may have affected the service. Parking can be difficult unless you valet park.
Fantastic experience at Smith & Wollensky in Miami Beach. We were seated inside, which was very comfortable and elegant. The food was excellent, our steaks were perfectly cooked and full of flavor, and the service was attentive and professional throughout. (See pic.) They do have beautiful outdoor seating with waterfront views, but it’s first-come, first-served and not available for reservation, so be prepared to wait if you want to sit outside. Highly recommend for great food, excellent service, and a polished dining experience.
The Miami Beach building stands apart within the network: positioned at the edge of South Pointe Park, it occupies a threshold between city and ocean. The two-story volume, defined by panoramic glazing and open terraces, functions as an observation platform over Government Cut, the main maritime channel. Its architecture relies on a restrained palette of wood and stone, while the dominant material is the view itself — water, horizon, and the constant movement of ships.
I came to dinner with my brother, and we requested a table right in front of the ocean. It was definitely the best decision we could have made. The warm breeze made the entire evening feel magical and incredibly relaxing. Sitting there, listening to the sound of the waves while enjoying such a beautiful view, created the perfect atmosphere for a special night. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely comfortable and welcomed. When the dishes began to arrive — from the appetizers to the dessert — it quickly became clear that we were in for a truly exceptional culinary experience. Every plate was presented with so much attention to detail, and each flavor was perfectly balanced and unforgettable. You can truly taste the quality and passion behind every creation. Everything about the evening felt thoughtfully curated, from the ambiance to the food. However, what truly made our night even more special was the outstanding service. Jose and Emre went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and well taken care of. Their professionalism, kindness, and attentiveness elevated the entire experience. I will absolutely be returning. This was more than just dinner — it was a beautiful memory. Highly recommended!
We had an absolutely wonderful experience. José and Joaquín provided exceptional service—the kind of attentive, warm, and professional service that truly makes a dining experience memorable. They were kind, attentive without being intrusive, and made us feel genuinely welcomed from start to finish. It’s rare to find service like this these days, and they truly stood out. This is the level of service I always hope for when going out to eat. On top of that, the food was absolutely delicious. We chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday with my family, and it couldn’t have been a better choice. Everything—from the atmosphere to the service and the food—made the celebration even more special. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you, José and Joaquín, for such a beautiful experience!
Had the most amazing time at Smith and Wollensky outside bar. Our server/bartender was William and he recommended the Angry Shrimp… OMG they were fantastic!!! We also had their chocolate cake that was amazing! I enjoyed my time there and will definitely go back to see William at the outside bar. He’s GREAT and the vibe at the bar is fun!!
We had a really lovely time, and Miguel G and Eugene made it even better. They were easy to talk to, very engaged, and consistently present throughout the lunch. The way they took care of us added a relaxed, welcoming feel to the experience and left us with a great impression. Service was 10/10. I highly recommend this place, also with a beautiful view to Miami Beach.
Excellent location with outstanding views! The signature split pea soup is delicious! Never a bad meal! We are “ bar sitters” and Gigi absolutely is the highlight of this bar! We come back weekly because of her! Her personality and warmth makes this a fun place!
Chose this amazing place for my birthday dinner. Facing the skyline of Miami, located on the water front...this is an ideal place for dinner. Sitting is comfortable with inside and outside options. They have elaborate menu and servers are helpful with recommendations. Smiling team and delicious food. U also have great choice of wines. The place oozes finesse and makes you feel special.
Delicious food, amazing drinks and most importantly, friendly staff, that greet you with a genuine smile. The outside bar view is breathtaking. The signature burger is highly recommended(see the photo). Miami Beach has many food choices, but this is one of my top favorites. I will be returning!
I don’t normally write reviews however, I had to make an exception this time. My husband and I dined here on Sunday evening, and I have to say the ambience was amazing. I can definitely understand why this place is such a hot spot. We started with salads as an appetizer, and for my entrée I had the most delicious sea bass it was truly out of this world. My husband ordered the filet, which was cooked perfectly. What really stood out to us was the service, which truly brought the entire experience together. Jennifer greeted us with such a warm and pleasant smile and was extremely professional throughout the evening. She and her partner, Natalie, worked seamlessly together and made us feel genuinely taken care of. We later found out that Jennifer was a new employee and had only been there for two or three days, which honestly made her service even more impressive. Kudos to her you can truly tell she loves what she does.
Seriously great food at a seriously wonderful location, facing the beautiful Fisher Island and Downtown Miami. Have a meal outside (especially in the evening) and enjoy the fabulous food alongside the beautiful setting. Sun-set time is especially recommended. Everything we ate was delicious and meticulously prepared.
This is now one of my favorite restaurants here in Miami. This was a birthday gift for me and I was very satisfied. We ordered the seafood tower with 2 jumbo stone crab, porterhouse, mashed potatoes, crab cakes, long Island ice tea, and smoked pineapple drink. Oh and the coconut cake was very tasty... Every thing was absolutely delicious. Our waiters were great, and very attentive. Service was exceptional, and the ambiance was top notch. I will definitely return to this restaurant.
This location is stunning! The Sunset is incredible and you can watch the big cruise ships passing by. The food was stunning and the service was on point! Emre and Emily were so friendly and took great care of us. She recommended a japanese Wagyu which was not on the Menu and it was the best steak I have ever eaten in my life. Best place to eat if you are in Miami Beach!
We visited last night and had an amazing experience. The food was outstanding — the Tomahawk steak is hands down the best in the world, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Our servers, Daniel H. and Joaquin, were excellent. Both were professional, attentive, and made us feel truly welcome from start to finish. Their service elevated the entire dining experience. Everything from the atmosphere to the quality of the food and service was top-tier. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for an unforgettable steakhouse experience in Miami Beach.
Smith & Wollensky delivered an outstanding experience. The service was attentive and professional, the food was cooked to perfection, and the view of the Miami Bay entrance made the afternoon even more special. A fantastic spot for a great meal with an unbeatable waterfront atmosphere.
We went here during the summer and it was so nice! Very fancy. We were able to sit outside, and we got to see many boats and a couple of cruise ships passing by. The staff was very kind, they even moved our table for us once the sun began shining on us. The food was SO GOOD! Our steak was the star of the show. My mom wished the steak was a little less rare, but besides that, it was delicious. I wish i had tipped the staff more, so i will do that in the future. We decided to make going to Smith & Wollensky a family tradition, so the next time we're in Miami, we will be back!!!
I had the pleasure of having lunch at Smith & Wollensky, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. I opted to sit at the outdoor bar, and with the sunny weather and a light breeze, it made for a perfect setting to enjoy a great meal. For my appetizer, I started with a crab cake, which was perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside with a tender, flavorful inside, packed with fresh crab meat and just the right amount of seasoning. It set the tone for what was to come. For the main course, I had a medium ribeye with mashed potatoes, and it did not disappoint. The steak was cooked exactly to my liking, juicy and full of flavor, with a beautiful sear on the outside. The mashed potatoes were creamy and buttery, complementing the steak perfectly. To accompany my meal, I had an Old Fashioned, which was well-balanced and expertly crafted, providing a smooth and slightly smoky touch to the experience. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and the overall atmosphere was upscale yet comfortable. Eating outdoors made the experience even better, with a great view and a relaxing vibe. If you’re looking for a high-quality steakhouse with excellent food, drinks, and ambiance, Smith & Wollensky is definitely worth visiting. I’ll be coming back for sure!
We’ve been coming here for many years, and every time—without exception—it’s a true pleasure. The service, the atmosphere, the view, and the food are simply unmatched, with flavors that seem out of this world. Every visit feels special. I especially want to highlight the terrace coordinator and our waiter John, who were incredibly kind and attentive, making the experience even more memorable. It’s a place that not only maintains its quality over time, but continues to exceed it.
Food was amazing. My husband and I had the surf and turf for 2 along with the truffled Mac and cheese. Cooked to perfection. Ended the evening sharing a piece of the best chocolate cake. Jose and Diego were both great servers and very helpful. We will definitely be back next time we are in town.
The day of eating at a Top-level steak house has come again. We were very excited this morning because we have been waiting for a week and finally we can eat top-quality steaks again. A steak will cost at least 100 to 200 US dollars, so we dare not take risks and choose randomly. At present, the choice of restaurant must be a national chain or even a famous foreign chain restaurant. Even if the local steakhouse has high reviews, it may be there are too many tourists and there are more opportunities to score, so we have to choose carefully. This one is the designated restaurant for the richest man in the United States, Buffett, to dine with others. The higher the grade of the restaurant, the more luxurious the decoration. Sometimes the lights look dim, and the people sitting inside seem to be upper-class people. They all order a glass of wine. Today's restaurant has indoors that meet our requirements, but the outdoor dining area is more Latin American in style, so we are very cautious. We ordered a medium-rare wet-aged rib-eye steak, and told him that 70% was raw beef. We showed the waiter a steak doneness comparison chart, but he brought the steak that was almost medium. Luckily, we sent it back immediately after cutting it, otherwise it would have been like the steak we had at Morton's that day, which was like a rock. We explained it very clearly when ordering, so they had nothing to say and immediately replaced it with a new one. However, we were a little careless this time. Although the steak he replaced was medium-rare, delicious and oily, it was thinner and smaller in size. In fact, we had taken pictures before, and we should have asked him to give us a full portion then and there. Maybe we are too kind to others in normal times and didn't think of this. When we got home, we didn't feel full, so we realized something was wrong. In the past month, we have eaten at four top-level steak houses, and the portion was more than enough each time, but this time replaced one was a little less./250924
I have been procastrinating trying out this place for the longest time and I finally went..we showed up without any reservations and were given a table with an awesome view. It was too hot to seat outside. The attention to detail from every staff member is superb. Wine selection was very good and the food was delicious. After checking this from my bucket list , it is now on my list of places to visit again.
Drinks were good, opted for an expresso martini with no baileys very delicious. I loved the octopus and crab cake. We ordered steak, truffle mac and cheese and creamed spinach. I often visit steakhouses and Ive had A5 wagyu previously and it was much better than the wagyu at this establishment. The wagyu beef did not set a standard of taste as other wagyu I have had previously.
Joaquin was absolutely incredible and truly made our entire evening. He was kind, attentive, and genuinely went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. His personality is perfect for this industry, and his service was nothing short of exceptional. Joaquin completely turned the night around for us and is the reason we’ll keep coming back. Thank you for such an amazing experience!
I recently dined at Smith & Wollensky in Miami Beach and overall, I'd give it four stars mainly due to the stunning visual appeal. The restaurant boasts beautiful views, especially for watching fireworks during holidays. However, I found the prices to be quite high, and the food fell short of expectations. The ambiance and location are truly spectacular, making it a great spot for special occasions. However, during specific holidays, the staff seemed to rush our dining experience, even attempting to clear our table within an hour. To add to this, they brought the dessert menu after my friend and I had only ordered our appetizers. Despite the amazing views and elegant ambiance, the food left much to be desired. While the restaurant has its charms, I'd advise setting expectations accordingly when it comes to the dining experience.
Not as good as usual! Very long wait between starter and main course. Crab cake which is my go to starter because they are manly crab not filler, were a bit "pasty" and had much more filler than usual. Main course twin filet was warm but not hot. Otherwise properly cooked and delicious. Fried Onion strings were slightly uncooked and oily and again warm not hot. We go regularly and noticed some hiccups a few months ago. Yesterday was really not great. Hopefully next time things will have turned back to the outstanding food and service I have become used to.
Excellent service with room for improvement I want to highlight the exceptional service provided by Angelo, a customer service professional whose level of hospitality made our experience truly memorable. His ability to advise us with tact and his meticulous attention to every detail, from the appetizers to the dessert, made our visit flawless. The view is stunning, and the food is simply phenomenal, but nothing beats the first-class treatment we received from Angelo. On the other hand, it’s important to point out an aspect that detracted from our experience: the attitude of the service manager, Charles Murphey. His treatment of customers was, at best, mediocre, conveying an attitude of disdain as if the diners were there asking for a favor rather than being the ones supporting the establishment. His lack of professionalism and courtesy not only contrasts with the excellence of Angelo and Antonio but also leaves a negative impression on a place that would otherwise be flawless. If I recommend this restaurant today, it is solely because of the dedication and exceptional service of Angelo and Antonio. However, due to the unfortunate attitude of the manager, I cannot give the highest rating. My rating is four stars, as I find it unacceptable that a place with such potential is overshadowed by poor management.
The best part of this Restaurant is the location, views are great and is kind of relaxing. Service is not great, they brought appetizers before bringing water. For $175 we got 2 miniii lobster tails and a steak, they weren’t even that good and you can eat better quality food somewhere else for less. Is basic
I had been to smith & wollensky several times before but I have not been here for quite sometime. The food was excellent served hot and the taste was amazing. We requested outdoor seating and sat on the outside second floor patio. The patio resembles a boring outdoor seating environment you would see at a backyard kids birthday party with very plain cheap outdoor chairs. The server was very kind when we saw him, we received one bottle of water when we first sat down before our appetizers and never received another drink till we were done with the main courses, we would have asked for more water but we never saw our server again till we are done eating the main course. Once we were done we ordered a baked Alaska for desert and after waiting longer than usual time he showed up with a chocolate cake and said they were out of baked Alaska and that the cake was on the house at no cost. We were never given an option to order another desert. The service is not good and they need add some life to this place, it used to be a go to place for me but sadly it’s not anymore. They have a prime location and hopefully they will get back to being a great place like before. The food was excellent but service not good.
We enjoyed the atmosphere and initial interaction with servers. We ordered drinks and mains, and found a large full elastic in one of our drinks. I must say we were disappointed with the response- as in a quick sorry and then like nothing happened. When something like that occurs, it upsets everyone because you lose faith in the experience. A good restaurant should work hard to earn that trust back- and it just didn’t happen.
We chose this steakhouse for lunch and were immediately impressed by the beautiful intracoastal views and the refined ambiance. The valet service was efficient and reasonably priced at $15, which set a positive tone upon arrival. We began with the bread service, which was absolutely delicious, so rich and well-prepared that it almost felt like an exquisite dessert in itself. The jumbo scallops were another highlight: perfectly cooked, delightful in flavor, and with an excellent texture. We also ordered two Caesar salads, which were well executed, along with the Oaxaca bourbon with mezcal, which was wonderfully balanced and truly delightful. While the food showed moments of excellence, the service unfortunately did not consistently match the level one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Our water was initially poured but was not refilled thereafter. When we ordered the bone-in strip steak medium rare, it arrived rare. The steak was cut by the waiter in front of us and it was immediately apparent that it was undercooked. The waiter took the steak back, but it appeared to be the same sliced steak returned after reheating rather than a freshly prepared one, something that felt disappointing, as most fine-dining establishments would typically refire a new steak in this situation. Additionally, when we requested the dessert menu and ordered coffee, we had to separately ask for sugar, which felt like an oversight in service flow. Another distraction was nearby our table where staff members were engaged in personal conversations and using inappropriate language, which detracted from the otherwise elegant atmosphere. Overall, the setting, view, and several menu items were genuinely enjoyable, and there is clearly strong potential here. However, for a restaurant positioned at this level, greater attention to service detail, professionalism, and consistency would elevate the experience significantly. We hope this feedback is received in the spirit intended, as this is a place that could truly shine with a few refinements.
Yes, it is a nice place overall. But wouldn’t be my first choice for a good stake, to be honest. Good, proper-feel (daytime - no idea about the evenings); not a pressing music. Nice. The service is friendly and not too bad; although, again, at daytime - you can tell is not on par with the location, IMHO… The food is very well made but - it is an “America’s Steakhouse”, right? - I would argue that “signature filet mignon” is a right filet mignon cut… you judge: I’ll attach the picture. Overall, with paid parking (valet starts at $15) and all - a firm 3 stars and not much better, albeit Google Review’s categories separately have 4 and 5 stars…
Extremely disappointing! Booked here for our last night due to the location and the view, was a little concerned by some of the reviews and they were confirmed! Firstly the good, the service staff were great and tried to correct the issues quickly, the mashed potatoes, bread and sauces were good. The bad!, my wife ordered the Filet medium rare, first one came well done, the second one was better but still not great and tasted burnt on the outside, the bone marrow had no bone marrow in it and the staff said this is how it comes! Don’t know if its to take home for your dog to chew on!! They did remove this from the bill. I ordered a 16oz NY strip which was smaller than my wife’s 10 oz filet! This was also over done but I couldn’t be bothered sending it back and also was burnt on the outside, the fries were also over cooked, the food was average at best, also the water started as spill but then a sparking bottle appeared and was poured in the spill glasses!. The be fair the staff were very good but the food is not up to the price tag, would not recommend this restaurant.
I came to Smith & Wollensky for my birthday, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to my expectations. The steaks were tough and didn’t have the quality or seasoning I was hoping for. Our server, Rodit was decent, but didn't stand out, definitely had better. On a positive note, the outside view was beautiful and the weather was amazing. Also, the crab cakes were fantastic—definitely the highlight of the meal. However, the skillet cookie came out lukewarm, which was disappointing. Overall, it was an underwhelming experience, and I expected more especially for the price.
I will start that I live in Texas so I have high expectations when it come to steaks. Sadly these steaks did not live up to the hype nor the cost. The atmosphere was amazing and the staff were super sweet but the strak was subpar. The best things were the lobster and the potatoes that I ordered as a side. If I had it to do over I would keep my 200+ dollars spent there for my nieces birthday, the food at our hotel was more satisfying at a fraction of the cost.
For the price….I’d expect better. Dinner for two with a tip was over $200 (this is with drinking water too). We waited a long time to be served and waited even longer for our bill. We were at the restaurant for 2+hrs. Not to mention they sat us under an AC blower which was freezing. Our “dinner for 2” left us both hungry…even after splurging on desert. Our filet was quite rare and small. I just had better expectations for how prestigious this restaurant comes off.
El lugar es lindo, la atención que recibimos no fue buena y la comida no me pareció la mejor
I juggled a stroller up the stairs while the host just watched me. When I was near the top he mentioned there was a ramp to the side. That would have been helpful 10 steps earlier. Then we were seated and ignored for 20+ minutes. I had to flag down a couple waiters to get us some water which we received after about half an hour. The waiter was apologetic and said he wasn’t informed we were added to his section. The manager came over later and gave us the most insincere apology from afar. He didn’t even get close to our table. If that had happened at a different upscale establishment I’m sure they would have made more of an effort and at least offered a complimentary drink. The filet was good. The truffle macaroni and cheese was partly good, partly inedible depending on your bite. We couldn’t eat it, because every so often you would get a mouthful of salt. Until then, I had never met a Mac and cheese I didn’t like. The view from a window seat or the outside patio is really nice. Desert was good and so was our waiter.
We dine here twice each year when we visit Miami Beach. My wife & I enjoy watching the big boats leave port for their ocean voyages. I always order the bone-in ribeye, medium-rare. Yet S&W can’t seem to get it right, ever. It’s nearly always *way* overcooked. The last time we were there my steak was practically beef jerky—a ribeye with no juice & almost as hard to chew as a chunk of jerky. Sure, they always offer to prep another one. But the meal experience is wrecked. By the time my new steak arrives, my wide & guests have finished their entrées & my sides are cold—the rhythm of the night has taken a hit. Our least meal there cost over $500. And this time there were also issues with my wife’s & one of my guest's food. Attempting to speak to management was futile. That evening & two other times I dropped by, I was told I had to speak to a person who was never there. No one on-site could or would even attempt to fix our issue... Imagine: A steak joint that can’t get a steak right--& that apparently has no idea what good customer service looks like.
This was such a letdown. I’ve been multiple times to their NYC location and everytime they treated us in such an enjoyable way, it truly made it an experience. Here, they ignored our seating request and put us in a AC-facing booth - we were freezing the whole night. Took ages for the server to touch table and were completely left unattended for most of the evening - for the exception of a completely alienated food runner. I was excited to at least have a nice meat cut and there too both me and my guest were massively disappointed. For a check of such crazy prices, I expect much much more.
My now fiancé and I visited this restaurant for dinner on Valentine’s Day, expecting a memorable and special evening. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing. Prior to ordering, my fiancé kindly asked our server if he could assist with a small gesture helping him propose to me, by presenting the ring on a special plate or some special way. He was mindful that the restaurant is intimate, with tables placed close together, and believed the request would be simple. However, the server responded in a dismissive and rude manner, stating that it was “too last minute” and that he could not help at all. Following this interaction, service continued to fall short. We waited approximately 25 minutes before receiving water and having our drink order taken. It was another 30 minutes before bread was brought to the table. When our meals finally arrived, the food was cold and the salad was wilted. This was meant to be a once-in-a-lifetime evening that we will always remember. Sadly, the experience was unpleasant and overshadowed what should have been a joyful celebration. Based on this visit, I would not recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.
Today we had tuna tartare that came with pickled onions and no avocado at all — it was basically just tuna. The octopus was overcooked and even had pieces of charcoal on it, which gave it a horrible burnt taste. We also ordered truffle and parmesan fries, but the fries were extremely small and completely soaked in sunflower oil. We will never come back and will not recommend this place to anyone. The prices are outrageous compared to the quality of the food. And first we got food and then drink:)))
I was at the restaurant 4 years ago and returned yesterday for a new experience with my family who were visiting from another country, but we were surprised by some not-so-good things. 1. The place hasn't invested in its structure and was super crowded. 2. The food was bad, small portions, expensive and poorly presented (my filet mignon came with some loose arugula leaves). 3. We sat down at 6:30 pm and it took at least an hour to serve dinner. Without a doubt, we will not return and we suggest the manager review several aspects of the restaurant, as there are cheaper and better options, and I could cook better at home. We really didn't like it.
Went tonight for a special event with my wife in miami. So excited because we use to go to the NYC’ one …. What a disaponting. Food was so under the expérience in NYC, and what about the service…. Forget orders, come 25mn after notice them that they forgot us (wine, not Such a big deal but when you have finished you meal… no need to have your drink… Even if it’s from the House, Thank you for that, but too late. We were the table of 2, on the right of the terrasse close to the water. They judge that we’re not consume enough to have a good service (unfortunately, we heard them talking about that.) 2 meals, 1 bottle of water and 1 dessert -> 250$ + 50$ tips. When the Check come, they kind of force us to Make tips way more than it should be. And when we we’re still at the table to finish, they maked us understand that they wants us to leave … quickly quickly … all the tables were still dirty & some tables still book with customers. We work in hospitality service for 20 years (including in 1* & 2* stars restaurant in France & US) we own & run 4 places now, and used to go to Michelin star restaurant often, so we know « how it works ». So if you dont have 1000$ for 2 you gonna be treat like hobos. Defintely not worth it. Meal was ok, outside places was amazing. But service was horrible. We are not used to write bad commentary about restaurants, but tonight; truth has to be tell. Find an other place if you want to have a good restaurant experience.
The food is highly overrated and overpriced. I couldn’t order what I wanted, which was a small piece of salmon with a couple vegetable sides. I had to order a salad to go with the salmon so I ordered it. The salmon was cold and raw and the salad was warm. Virtually inedible. Service was terrible. We sat at the bar, which usually has better service than General seating. I would never eat here again. That said, we had a beautiful experience outside with a glass of wine before dinner watching the cruise boats come down. The property is spectacular.
A disappointing and forgettable experience. I went with my wife and two children to celebrate Mother’s Day, and unfortunately, things went wrong from the start. The staff seemed stressed and were treating guests poorly, even though the place wasn’t very crowded. The front desk attendant — a medium-height, bald man with glasses — was in a terrible mood and treated us rudely, which really dampened what was supposed to be a happy family day. Once we were seated, the server was actually very kind, but the food took over an hour to arrive and didn’t come out the way we ordered it. We used the time to talk as a family, but the delay was just too long, and we never received an apology or any kind of acknowledgment from the manager. , we have no desire to return and can’t recommend this place. We didn’t feel comfortable at all, and the food was far from good — it completely ruined such a special day for all mothers. The staff were so upset and nervous that they didn’t even greet the mothers on Mother’s Day. There are plenty of places in Miami — next time, we’ll be more selective about where we go to celebrate a special occasion.
This was, without a doubt, one of the most disrespectful and humiliating experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The host approached our table and, in a very rude and unprofessional manner, told us to leave without showing any empathy, courtesy, or basic respect. There was no proper explanation, no attempt to handle the situation with professionalism, and no consideration for how embarrassing it was to be treated that way in front of other guests. Hospitality is built on respect and professionalism, and unfortunately, this establishment failed completely in that regard. The host’s attitude was dismissive, cold, and degrading, making us feel unwelcome and disrespected as customers. No guest should ever be made to feel humiliated in a place where they are supposed to feel comfortable and valued. Because of this experience, I will never return and cannot recommend this place to anyone. There are many other establishments that understand the importance of treating their guests with dignity and respect.
This place was absolutely not worth visiting. I was so disappointed because an uber driver recommended to us + it has so many great reviews. But it was nothing but a let down to us. First, our server Mike was just…strange. Didn’t seem to get social cues, spent lots of time talking about the weather and we didn’t feel like he could tell when we didn’t really want to engage further. We ordered filet mignon and a NY strip. My husband likes his steak rare and it was cooked well. My filet was not. I asked for medium rare and it came back rare so I asked them to cook it a bit longer. It came back charred to hell and tasted burnt. The inside was still rare so I’m not sure what they did other than perhaps light it on fire haha. Then, we ordered Brussels sprouts which genuinely tasted like they’d been boiled - soft and mushy. The worst way to cook them. I also added shrimp to my filet and it was nothing to write home about. Sorely disappointed to have spent $250 on this food and experience and definitely wouldn’t return. It was not busy inside at 6pm on a Friday night which was surprising but after our food came I understood. It does have a cool outside bar and if you’re just looking to get a drink and enjoy the weather/view, seems like a great place for that.
This was our 3rd attempt in a month. Last 3 times my dinner in particular was terrible. Tuna appy was awful- old, cold and tasteless. Tonight's seabass was so gross and fishy, I couldn't eat a bite. Then the bill comes and the waiter asks how was it, i said inedible. Oh why didn't you tell me? Well, duh, my plate was untouched. Duh! Couple that with the fact we didn't have drinks for 20 mins when we arrived - Bartenders so busy. Don't have a wine list. Let me go inside - blah blah blah. Finally brings me the wine list- oh sorry, we don't have that. Forget it, I say, just bring me a glass of pinot noir. Finally arrives after my friends' drinks are almost gone bec it took so long...wine was icy, and therefore tastless. Who serves a pinot cold? So my 2nd glass at the table, I ask the waiter for a room temp pinot. He's like, oh yeah, I'll just go get one from inside. Finally. At least I finally got a good glass of wine. But $400 later, What a disaster. 🤦🏻♀️
Went to eat here today as we were in the area. The front desk was super nice and the host was super nice. We wanted to sit outside by the water and they said yes. There were two tables empty by the balcony on each end by the water but were set up for 6 guests. Our host said she would let us sit there and divide the table. Then the server came over and said no way the table has to be like that for 6 people on both ends of the patio no Exception! So they sat us still on patio but not on the water side. We were okay and would have been fine but then they moved tables for 4 people to sit and I was like wow. Then we looked down at the other end and they sat two people at the other 6 top and moved the tables for them! Then the server didn’t come back for a long while…but when he did he came back to the four top to take their order without even taking our orders or being us water! So we got up and left!! Super bad service! I don’t leave bad reviews ever but this one I could not let that sit
Worst experience ever!!! My husband and I chose Smith & Wollensky for a Valentine’s dinner expecting an upscale, enjoyable evening worthy of the nearly $400 we spent. Instead, the experience was deeply disappointing. We were seated directly next to a group that was extremely loud, disrespectful, and clearly intoxicated. They spent the entire evening speaking loudly and using offensive language. The situation escalated to the point where one of the women became sick, vomited, and then remained slumped over the table, as noted in the picture attached. This completely ruined what was supposed to be a special and intimate Valentine’s celebration. When I raised the issue with the manager, Matias Perez, as we were leaving—after enduring the entire evening—his response was that there was nothing he could do. He simply handed me his card and suggested we return in the future. After such an unacceptable experience, that response felt dismissive and inappropriate. For a restaurant of this reputation and price point, basic atmosphere management and guest experience should be a priority. Unfortunately, our Valentine’s dinner was completely spoiled, and based on this experience, we will not be returning.
