Just returned from Istanbul Turkey and can attest and guarantee this is truly authentic and delicious! They use a wood 🔥 fired grill for everything! Pacanga Borek, is pastry fill with cheese, and peppers. Eggplant Kebap, which is a meat and eggplant grill on the skewer, interesting taste. However, I recommend adding gravy as it comes with rice because it is a little dry. The atmosphere is perfert, and the service is good!

If you want fresh authentic food at reasonable prices try this place. I came with a friend who had previously been married to a Turkish man and visited Turkey and she endorsed it. The Happy hour menu is a great deal. You can satisfy two people with a high quality meal for $30 without ordering drinks. I suggest ordering a hummus a chicken a lamb and a rice and share them all. There are very few places to get this good food at this price in all of South Florida. The waiter Remzi is very knowledgeable. Trust me you won't be disappointed.😜

Outstanding & delicious food. I’m from NYC and enjoying Turkish food all my life. This is one of the best places I’ve ever been to. The Shepherd salad is tiny, but is so flavorful and delicious, it’s just incredible. The garlicky Hummus is perfect. The calamari has a very light crunchy texture and is yummy. I love this place, don’t miss it.

Sumak is one of my favorite spots. First start with a bunch of mezes, they’re consistently delicious, fresh, and flavorful, perfect for sharing. The vibe inside is casual but with enough style to make it feel like a proper dinner out, and there’s a great outdoor area with the grill going when the weather’s nice. The grill outside adds a really nice touch! Service is friendly and warm, and it’s just a solid place you can always count on for good food and a chill night out.

Saslik: best one ever Yogurtlu Kebab: good but not the best Mix kebab plate: amazing Service: great and friendly Mr. Zafer came to greet us and ask how we liked everything. My Turkish husband drove by here yesterday and realized it was a new Turkish spot! Naturally, we had to check it out for dinner. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted and told to sit wherever we were comfortable. We decided to sit outside on their beautiful and ambient back patio. We were told that the place had only opened last week, and they were very busy!! Good for them. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and a few mains, as well as cocktails and dessert. The service provided by Yigit was prompt and welcoming. The food was nothing short of INCREDIBLE! My husband gave it his highest remarks. The bartender made me the best Turkish espresso martini I’ve ever had!! We are locals in the neighborhood and can’t wait to come back!! Good job and best of luck with this new restaurant.

We had a fantastic experience here! The service was warm and attentive, the food was absolutely delicious, and the live music on Monday evening created such a fun and welcoming atmosphere. Every dish we tried was excellent, but the goat cheese ice cream was truly unforgettable — a perfect balance of creamy and tangy. Highly recommend!

OMG !!! I saw this restaurant as I was driving by and the sudden urge to get some Turkish food hit. We managed to go in when happy hour started and the place was empty. What an absolute joy. The decor is old world with class, and a slamming middle eastern techno music was gentle pulsing through the restaurant. The waiter attended to us quickly and we ordered the hummus with bread, two small chicken shis plates, and two lamb chops, and a triple soup. The passion fruit martinis (happy hour price) where really good. BUT once the food arrived it was game on. Cooked and seasoned to perfection, and presented beautifully. Almost orgasmic to boot. We will definitely be returning. Just a note, they automatically add a service charge to all bills.

I’m writing this review as I listen to the amazing live music from my table. Ozan and his team are wonderful, they made me feel like I was in Istanbul as I sang along with them through the night. Incredible experience, our waitress was Mila and she gave us very good suggestions for ordering something we liked, I highly recommend the Turkish pizza and the pastrami hummus, all the food was delicious, the atmosphere was very pleasant and the music and atmosphere was very relaxed, I would definitely go back.

Terrific new restaurant with the best Turkish food I've ever tasted, IN AND OUTSIDE of Turkey. That's right. The service was so warm and hospitable. (Shoutout to Zafat!) Lovely Saturday dinner ! We sat outside on the patio and Yasin was our server- the inside is also cozy and tastefully decorated. We arrived still in time for happy hour, which was a plus as happy hour is anywhere you sit, not just at the bar. We ordered the lahmacun- a must have appetizer- full of hearty flavors with a touch of sliced tomatoes, fresh parsley and spiced red onion. Cocktails were also well made- aperol spritz and a lovely cab started off our meal right. For the main course we went with the grilled lamb loin - seared to perfection and accompanied by an orzo pilaf, grilled tomato and pepper. Side note, the silverware and cups are from Turkey, a nice touch to the atmosphere. Great attentive staff and overall warm hospitality. Glad we have this spot in our neighborhood!

Best Turkish cuisine we’ve ever had in the USA period. We live in Dallas and have many fine Turkish/Mediterranean establishments, but nothing compares to the tastes and freshness that Sumak offers. Melisa did a fine job of making some recommendations, and nothing disappointed. The people here actually make you feel cared for, and we will definitely be back next time we are in Miami.

This place is a must visit for sure! It was our first time and we found it because we needed a restaurant close to where our friend was staying and so thrilled open table took us to this place! Shockingly good. They have really curated an eclectic, authentic Turkish vibe here. The food is wildly flavorful and perfectly cooked. The portions are generous. The Turkish disco music is lively. The decor is warm amber and leather and layered vintage curios atop chestnut shelves. The service was friendly and attentive. I’d give 6 stars if I could.

Grilled octopus perfection: Charred just enough to get that smoky crisp edge but keeping the buttery inside. If you’re an octo-fan, put this at the top of your must-try list. Kebab duo: The steak kebab arrived medium-rare and juicy; the chicken was marinated in lemon-sumac and was super tender. Both came with saffron rice and a tangy tomato-pepper relish that I could’ve eaten by the spoonful. Hummus & pickle plate: Creamy hummus drizzled with good olive oil, plus topped with prosciutto I … the pickled turnips, cukes, and cauliflower for crunch. Perfect starter (and yes, we wiped the plate clean with the warm pita). Service & vibe: Staff checked in often without hovering, happily explaining ingredients and cocktail theatrics. The room feels like a modern Levantine lounge with warm wood, greenery, and an easy playlist that lets you chat without yelling. Quick tips Reservations run on time; we were seated right away. I went to Sumak with my Grandma and my brother and absolutely loved everything about it. The food was incredible. I had the lamb chops and the mezze board, and every bite was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and my waitress, Busra, made the experience even better. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared that we were enjoying our meal. If you’re looking for amazing Turkish food with great service, Sumak is 10/10. I’ll definitely be coming back.

One of the best meals/dining experiences I've ever had! First, the ambience was so cozy and inviting. They put thought into every detail starting with the music, decor and chairs and down to the unique silverware, glassware and food presentation. Second, the food itself was amazing! We got the Abaganus app (pictured) and every single dip was delicious, paired with fresh warm bread. The Lahmacun was so flavorful and unlike anything I've had before (it has lamb FYI). The Chicken Shish was perfectly cooked and seasoned and was served HOT. We were too full for dessert so we got the Kunefe to go and it's absolutely a must order. I would go back for this dessert alone! Our server was super sweet, attentive and helpful. At the end of the meal, she brought us complimentary hot tea, twice. Lastly, there is a small paid parking lot around back (free after 11pm) and some street parking out front. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!!!

I have been out of Türkiye for 15 years and it is the most authentic and delicious Turkish food that I’ve ever tasted out of Türkiye. Amazing food, pretty cool atmosphere, very sophisticated vibes. I ate liver, lahmacun, beyti kebab , künefe and Maraş ice cream. There is even Turkish raki and Turkish tea in the special cups. Thank you guys for taking me home again with this wonderful meal.

This place serves the best lahmacun I’ve ever had in the US! Everything was perfect, delicious food and great atmosphere.

I visited during the Miami Spice $35 menu and it was definitely worth it. The lahmacun was flavorful and crispy, an easy 8/10. The köfte was the highlight of the meal—juicy, perfectly seasoned, a solid 10/10. For dessert, the künefe was fresh and cheesy (8/10), and the Maraş dondurma was creamy and authentic, another 10/10. Overall, a great deal for Miami Spice and a perfect spot for authentic Turkish flavors.

We were in Miami for my husband’s birthday and decided to try this place out. The food was quality for sure. We were there on Thursday October 9, 2025. Parking is behind the restaurant. It wasn’t bad at all. $1 per hour plus tax. Short walk Ambience was cozy.. Small. The bread was fresh and amazing. We gave a 4 star because everyone was professional and cordial but the vibe was not welcoming at all. It was our first time there. That was a disappointment. We recommend the Lamb Sirlion.

Local restaurant serving Turkish dishes. Space includes bar, indoor and outdoor (with fans) seating areas. Large menu with big portions that are good for sharing. Although the wait staff is very friendly and nice, the evening I went they seemed overwhelmed and a bit disorganized which impacted our overall experience. Food took a long time to come out and they made mistakes with the order. Also the interior space air conditioning didn’t seem to work well plus they keep all the lights inside very bright making the space feel hot —especially in the Miami summer. Hope their management can fix some of these issues as the restaurant has great potential.

Sumak Turkish Restaurant offers good-quality food with authentic flavors, and everything we tried was well prepared and tasty. The service and atmosphere were pleasant, making it an enjoyable dining experience overall. That said, the prices felt a bit higher compared to other Turkish restaurants in the area that offer similar quality. While it’s a good option if you’re nearby, the value for money could be better.

We had a great experience at Sumac. The food was excellent: everything tasted extremely fresh, well-prepared, and authentic. The prices are also very reasonable, especially given the quality, which makes it an easy place to return to often. The service was very friendly, although a bit on the confused side at times. The atmosphere felt a little chaotic, but it seems to match the younger, lively crowd they cater to, so it fits the overall vibe. All in all, the food really stands out, and the warm, welcoming staff makes it a place worth visiting. We’ll definitely be back!

Really cool, authentic Turkish place that serves some unique, simple meals at fair prices. We had the fried calf liver and the branzino! Both were delicious. High-energy atmosphere - perfect if you’re out with friends or a larger group.

In terms of food quality and taste, it’s a below-average place by Turkish standards. However, for those who want to eat home-style Turkish food in a distant place like Miami, it’s better than nothing. The reason it receives so much praise is the effect of “preference distortion.”

Cool atmosphere that’s it. We got raw saslik, she took it and put our raw one to cooked more. FIRST TIME RESTAURANT DIDN’T wanna remake it. Also FYI you gonna be charged for service that you won’t receive. As you are taking 15$ for service can I at least get napkins? Also if you would ask about sizing of dishes, it’s small, the smallest dishes that I ever had for this price! Salad had been chopped in big pieces not even the same size like for a pigs Restroom is so nasty! Even it’s not busy. I’ll never come back. * Now just wanted to add few more words because of the owner message that you replied to my normal review 🤷‍♀️ I don’t know why you’ve answered one on my bad review if you have a lot of them🤷‍♀️ But this what I want to say back to you aggressive comments: I appreciate your response, but instead of addressing my concerns professionally, you’ve chosen to be rude to a paying customer. My review was based on my honest experience—small portions that didn’t match what was advertised and a service charge for service I didn’t receive. If multiple customers are raising similar complaints, perhaps it’s worth listening instead of attacking them. Good customer service isn’t just about the food—it’s about how you treat people, even after they leave. Instead of being defensive, maybe consider improving your service. That would benefit both your business and your future customers. And why would you even talk about my what I can afford and what no! If you’re looking for a place that serves decent portions and provides good service, this is NOT it. I was told the dishes here were big, but when my food arrived, the portion was disappointingly small—nowhere near what was advertised. On top of that, I was charged a service fee for service that I never received. (And it’s haven’t been mentioned anywhere)! The staff barely checked on my table, and I had to ask multiple times for basic things. Overall, this place is overpriced and misleading. Definitely not worth the money, and I won’t be coming back.

The wait time was LONG. Servers kept on forgetting about us. They overcharged us, food quality is poor, and service is terrible. We had a very bad experience. In response to the owners comment, I again testify that I visited this place with my family on 10/18/2025, and the owner should consider taking this feedback constructively and carefully ponder about it. The happy hour menu has misleading prices, inaccurate information and the staff is trouble communicating effectively. Absolutely terrible experience. As a proof that this review is completely honest and accurate, I am adding a photograph of the food. These three lamb chops were worth $40 and they tasted like chalk. All in all, if I had a rating lower than 1 and google allowed me to give a negative rating worse than zero, I would had given that to Sumak.
