100/10 experience. Unsuspecting, but do not pass this place by. TBD is a real gem. Reminds me of a Brooklyn or Lisbon restaurant. I’ve been to a lot of restaurants in my life and trust me this place is IT!!! We ordered the black rice, crab cavatelli pasta, steak and fried zucchini dumplings and flan for dessert. everything was spectacular. The service was fantastic and they have yummy wine selections. This place is my new fav restaurant hands down in Miami.
Stop what you’re doing and RUN to TBD, truly one of the best dining experiences in Miami. The food - sensational. Every single dish we ordered was perfectly composed and executed. The service was friendly without being encroaching, and dishes arrived at a great cadence. This place is a VIBE. Get the flan. No notes, can’t wait to come back!
There’s something undeniably magical about this place. From the moment you step inside, you sense that what awaits is more than just a meal—it’s an experience. The warmth of the welcome sets the tone for what becomes one of the most memorable brunches I’ve ever had. Each dish reflects a deep passion for flavor, storytelling, and craftsmanship. You can taste the intention in every bite, the kind that only comes from chefs who truly love what they do. The menu evolves every two weeks, a thoughtful touch that keeps the experience fresh and inspiring, inviting you to return and discover what new creations they’ve brought to life.
Absolutely exceptional experience. Chef Jhonny, a brilliant Venezuelan talent, delivered truly unique and memorable dishes. The black rice, house-made bread, and the pork tomahawk were the absolute standouts of the night, each one perfectly executed and full of personality. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere felt intimate and thoughtfully curated. A place that goes beyond just dinner, it’s a full experience. We were so immersed in it that we didn’t even take photos of the dishes, but the mystery is truly worth the trip. Highly recommended.
So, I swung by for a quick beer while I waited for my buddy to finish work, and let me tell you, I was blown away! This place is fantastic! The service? Top-notch, like they’re all trained by the hospitality gods or something. I wish I had the time to sample the food, but I’ll just have to save that tasty adventure for next time. Seriously, this spot looks fantastic and smells even better! Oh, and that specialty beer? Absolutely awesome! Cheers to that!
To be determined we tried the arepa with steak and also had a cachapa, and both were absolutely delicious. The steak was tender and flavorful, and the cachapa was rich, cheesy, and perfectly balanced with sweetness. Everything tasted freshly made and authentic. The service was friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, a great place to enjoy comfort food. I will definitely be coming back soon
We were lucky to find a same day reservation even though Resy didn’t have any listed. We called the restaurant and they made an amazing accommodation for us. This place is very unique. You do not know what will be in the menu as it changes every two weeks and we were told that the chefs even make same day changes. When we went the menu was heavily seafood based. It also seems that is their theme from speaking with the waiter. We started with the bread service. It was warm and soft and a great tasting inside. There was something in the bottom that gave it a weird taste. Thinking about it, seems maybe the cast iron it comes in maybe was not cleaned of prior tastes or maybe the butter used was burnt. Not sure it was odd. It was good bread though you should try it. As the second plate we had the mushroom risotto. OMG wow! It was definitely delicious. It was also a very popular plate. Every table in the restaurant ordered this plate. Side note the place is very small. Only 10 tables in the entire place. As our main dish we ordered the sea bass. This was a little disappointing. It had a pretty strong fishy taste. Sea bass is NOT fishy. The sauce was very good and the plantain pure was good. But the plate overall did not wow us. Service was superb; Michelin grade actually. They have a pretty big selections of wines and pair them with your meals. The dining room decor is basic but nice. The bar is very nice. Overall, definitely recommend you check this place out.
I really enjoyed To Be Determined. The atmosphere is lively. There is a short menu of very good and tasty choices. It's a good place to get together with friends and visit and chat over wine and food. The steak plate was delicious. The raw tuna was great. The oyster mushrooms were absolutely delicious (you have to try them). It's best to make a reservation as it is a really popular place. Kudos to the chefs as they really make some tasty delights. I was told they will rotate various food options every couple weeks so you will get to try many delicious options from the chef. I am looking forward to returning soon.
Such a cute little restaurant- a lot bigger than I thought! I’m you’re so happy that this little gem opened up in the Gables. I remember when it was a dive bar of sorts… I like the concept that they change the menu every couple weeks.. we had the bread basket, lump crab pasta, roasted pineapple, the steak, and one of the desserts. Everything was really delicious and we will be back.
As someone who gets disappointed easily with restaurants and food I must say TBD is probably one of my top 3 restaurants I have been in my life. The staff is welcoming in a way that feels natural and not fake like almost every other restaurant, the atmosphere is cozy and exclusive but welcoming at the same time. The food was an absolute 1000, and the wine selection ✨ a dream ✨ Will definitely be going back to try their new menu every time they change. Worth the experience.
Wow. I didn’t have any expectations and I was blown away. You could really taste and feel the effort and the attention to detail that when into this place. This is not another Miami “see and be seen” trap. This is an intimate, phenomenal meal. The menu is short and changes often. Pricing was on the high side considering the size of the plates, but I get why. Everything was so fresh, and not try-hard. It was easy to love the food. Service was great. We had: Crudo: 10/10 (I just wish there was 1 jicama per fish) Corn: 10/10 Branzino: 10/10, super small portion but delicious Steak: 8/10 Even The beer (ale) was also spectacular Would be great for a date, small group of friends, work dinner, or to take your parents out. Very small, wouldn’t recommend for large groups or families with rowdy kids. Will definitely be back!
Amazing detail and description of flavors, wine glasses reasonably priced, everything from the octopus to scallop crudo to steak were phenomenal. Cant wait to go back !
This place was fantastic. It’s new here and the concept is awesome. The menu changes every few days and every dish we had was so on point. The price point was perfect for a nice night out. My favorite was the corn, cavatelli, and shrimp espuma. The staff was so nice and welcoming. I’m excited to see how well this place does in the future and with a ever changing menu I will definitely come back.
The cavatelli, oysters, guancale and melon were our favorites. Really friendly and welcoming staff. Nice atmosphere and cosy. Need to come back for their brunch on Sunday’s
To Be Determined is a new hidden gem in Coral Gables, and I’m honestly shocked more people aren’t talking about it yet. It opened just two months ago and while it’s small, the space is incredibly cute with a dark, almost sexy ambiance that still feels warm and welcoming. Perfect for date nights or intimate dinners. The customer service was amazing. Attentive, friendly, and made the experience feel super smooth from start to finish. We ordered a lot (no regrets): the octopus, ribeye, shrimp espuma, corn, oysters, and flan. And let me just say literally everything was a 10/10. The oysters were unreal, super fresh and flavorful, and each dish managed to surprise us in the best way possible. You can tell the menu was crafted with intention and care. We’re already planning to come back unless it blows up and becomes impossible to get a reservation, which honestly feels inevitable. Final verdict: Go now while it’s still under the radar.

✨ A mind-blowing culinary experience in the simplest of ways ✨ Sometimes magic happens when simplicity is done perfectly. The coffee from Daily Drop paired with their Croque Madame is nothing short of extraordinary. And the flan? It will absolutely rock your socks off. The flavors come together in such perfect harmony that it feels like an out-of-body experience — rich, balanced, and unforgettable. This isn’t just a meal; it’s a ritual worth savoring. If you’re looking for a place where every bite and sip transport you beyond the ordinary, this is an experience you absolutely must have. I’m already looking forward to coming back for their dinner service.
Loved this restaurant! They change the menu every 10-15 days. Small menu, everything we tried was AMAZING! Service was really nice too and I liked the atmosphere. A must try in Miami! Make sure to make reservations because it is small and it gets packed.
Love how this restaurant’s dishes change weekly to ensure the freshest ingredients. We ordered all 6 dishes (didn’t do the 2 desserts) for 4 people and it was the perfect amount of food. Favorites were the potato chips (not pictured), prawn, and steak.
Best restaurant in Miami - they use amazing ingredients and the flavors were absolutely mind blowing!! The chefs are wonderful people and have curated a lively yet intimate vibe. Rotating and limited menu concept is also super unique. Hope to be back many times!
This place is such a perfect gem in Miami. We had a wonderful server, Eloy, whose passion for the restaurant, the chef, the food, etc. shined through all of his explanations, suggestions, and conversation. Every dish was divine but the lobster cavatelli stood out as exceptional. I can't wait to see what they bring to their next menu as they rotate items every 2 weeks. This is a place I hope to come to frequently as it has everything you'd want to feel like you're in a swanky city but with a next-door vibe -- perfect music (perfect volume too), dark wood and cement decor with ambient lighting, perfectly sized menu, intimate seating, and welcoming staff.
To Be Determined was such a great experience from start to finish. The vibes are immaculate — intimate, thoughtful, and clearly intentional. Huge shoutout to our server, Eloy. He was genuinely amazing: super attentive, detail-oriented, and incredibly kind. He took his time walking us through the menu, explained the concepts behind the dishes and the restaurant itself, and made the whole experience feel elevated but still relaxed. The food was outstanding. Every plate we tried somehow topped the last — which says a lot. Even though the menu changes every six weeks, that’s honestly part of the magic. You can tell there’s real care, creativity, and confidence behind what they’re doing. Can’t wait to go back and see what’s next. Highly recommend.
Excellent service from start to finish. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The food was amazing! enjoyed every single dish. The music and ambiance were great and I love that they change their menu regularly, I can’t wait to go back
Ernesto delivered truly exceptional service from start to finish. His knowledge of the menu was precise and confident, and his recommendations showed a deep understanding of both the cuisine and the balance of flavors across the courses. The food choices were outstanding, thoughtfully executed, and beautifully presented, while the wine pairings elevated each dish and complemented the experience perfectly. Attentive without being intrusive, Ernesto created a refined, seamless dining experience that made the evening memorable.
I did my due diligence to find a new restaurant in Miami and this place came up. Make a rsvp and this was definitely worth it. The food was unique and flavorful with the combinations being just right. Nothing crazy or experimental, great dishes, great service, our server was Elio. The menu and wine changes every two weeks and I would say we tried 6 dishes and enjoyed each one and if we had time we would go again to try other items before they switch
Such a unique and unforgettable experience. The service truly sets this place apart, and every bite is an explosion of flavors. You can feel the care and passion behind each dish. What stood out the most for me was the staff—so attentive, friendly, and welcoming. And the food? A solid 10/10. Definitely a place I’d come back to and highly recommend
After reading The Infatuation’s write-up, I booked To Be Determined in Miami 3–4 weeks in advance for their Valentine’s prix fixe “experience.” The meal was prepaid (excluding drinks). With a bottle of wine, dinner came to roughly $400 for two. The restaurant and Infatuation call dining here an experience. On that point, we agree, though at times it felt closer to the experience of a hostage situation. Courses were poorly paced, time in the restaurant was 3.5 hours. A long meal can feel wonderful when done right. Here it felt disorganized and chaotic. The dining room is nearly pitch dark, described elsewhere as “romantic,” but there’s a balance between ambiance and visibility. It’s difficult to enjoy food you can't see. The vibe is made worse bit the music. The playlist was both awful and uneven: punk and rock tracks abruptly followed by soft jazz ballads. I like those types of music but they picked the worst of tracks from almost every genera of music and with no order to what comes next. The jarring transitions undermined any sense of mood the restaurant seemed to be aiming for. They'd benefit from someone picking tracks and sequencing them in a consistent way. Now the food... The cooking was uneven across multiple courses, including the main. My date’s denver steak arrived blue/raw-- unrendered fat, impossible to cut, and inedible. We could've heard it moo if not for the loud music. Mine was medium rare (as preferred), but tough and lacking flavor. The chef might be cooking in the same darkness we were eating in. No dish stood out as memorable, which is particularly disappointing at this price point. Maybe squash blossom with pork. But that couldn't make this evening worth it. At the beginning of the night, when our waiter finally arrived at the table, he went on and on about how few guests they serve and how proud they are of the experience they’ve crafted. Nothing about the evening matched that rhetoric. This is a hard two stars to give. For the cost, the experience delivered uneven cooking, terrible pacing, awful ambiance, and no standout dishes. At $400 for two, Miami offers far better date-night options.
I genuinely debated writing this review for a few days but I seriously have to say something. I was so excited to check out To Be Determined and left so disappointed. People rave about this spot and I really wanted to like it but I cannot justify this restaurant. The server explained that the dishes are meant to be shared, which typically means the portions are going to be a decent/large size. Wrong. He then explains the portions are on the smaller size but I did not expect them to be THAT small. We ordered 4 appetizers including the house bread, scallops, calamari, and miso corn. The house bread was placed in front of us and I knew we were screwed. One singular pita bread the size of a CD disk was placed in front of our table of 4 people and the “best” part was that it cost $10. The dishes kept getting smaller and smaller, and the wait time between them got longer and longer. I was expecting at least a decent size of miso corn considering everyone on Instagram was posting these massive husks of corn. Wrong again. We got half the portion people on Instagram were given. At this point I literally said out loud “Am I being punked?” Now for the sides, we got the black rice and the lump crab cavatelli. The black rice was fine, nothing crazy; but the cavatelli actually pissed me off. $40 for a tiny portion and there was little to no crab in it. The pasta was hard and the sauce was watery. I would literally rather be robbed at gun point vs. being robbed through mediocre dishes. The ONLY saving grace for this dinner was the ribeye. They couldn’t skimp on that since it was promised to be 16 ounces, but even that took 45 minutes to come out after finishing our sides. We left without dessert since we wanted to avoid more disappointment and went to McDonald’s immediately after. I wish I would have taken photos for evidence but I was genuinely so embarrassed that I suggested this spot for a double date. I know a lot of people love this place, and I really wanted to also; but if you’re the type of person that doesn’t wanna spend a ton of money on small dishes then I wouldn’t recommend even trying this spot. Maybe it was an off day and I really hate writing bad reviews since I know how much time and effort it takes for restaurants to build themselves up but I genuinely cannot let this experience slide.
I’m very disappointed because I had come in very excited to try TBD after seeing them on Dojo Izakaya’s collab ad. I thought the concept was a great idea, that the menu changes often, and that they use seasonal ingredients. Unfortunately my experience was not great, the food was bad and the ambiance was awful. I’ll explain why. The signature lump crab dish was a salty and oily mess. The crudo with gazpacho was appalling, the flavors didn’t mix and the texture of the raw fish was just not right for a crudo dish. The corn dish was uninspiring, together with the baguette they felt like pure money grabs. They only offered two wine by the glass options for whites and both of the options were distasteful. The service staff did what they could with their hospitality and kindness to make the experience amendable. What didn’t help is the loud alternative rock music playing, a vibe that didn’t match whatsoever the decor and feel of the restaurant. We got an idea from the creative direction of the website and Instagram that we were visiting a nice restaurant with a trendy and homey vibe. We didn’t expect it to feel like a dive bar with loud alternative music. When I mentioned this to the staff he said this was “the chef’s playlist”. This makes sense. The whole experience from the food to the music felt like a homage to the chef’s creative expression, much more than genuine hospitality for the customer. I will not be recommending this place to anyone in my circle and probably won’t try it again.
