I've been wanting to try this place for a while, just haven't found the time with being about 50mins from Middletown, but we finally went on our anniversary and it did not disappoint. Our waiter was very engaging and interactive with our kids. The food and drinks were amazing and of course the atmosphere is fantastic.

I love this restaurant! Service is always great as well as food. The best pasta i’ve ever had was Pappardelle al Manzo! 10/10!

Had a dinner for our wedding anniversary and it was spectacular! From the great atmosphere, to the amazing service, the delicious handcrafted cocktails and finally to the MOUTH-WATERING Mediterranean food! I am Greek and i LOVED the food. Bar area is nice too, there is a second floor and most important there is a parking lot for the costumers behind the restaurant building. We are definitely going back to try the rest of the menu!!

From start to finish, our dining experience at Pithari was nothing short of amazing. We made a reservation in advance, and upon arrival, we were promptly seated. The menu offered a variety of delicious options, and we indulged in the scallops, salmon, and lamb chops (which are available only on select weekends). Each dish was flavorful and beautifully plated. For dessert, we had the key lime pie and tiramisu, both of which were an absolute delight. Our server, Brooke, was incredibly attentive and ensured that we had everything we needed throughout the night. We will definitely be returning for another memorable meal.

Really great restaurant with incredible ambiance. Exceptionally friendly, attentive servers and staff. Rose was amazing! Brought me a new water with lemon & light ice when mine ran out, without even asking. The food was incredibly flavorful and the menu is very thoughtful. The beet salad and the meatballs were unique & delicious. My only recommendations are on decor: higher tables (booth side it's a bit tight/then you're leaning over your meal, etc.) and higher quality tablecloths/shorter so they don't snag when you're sitting/standing. Other than that, well done! Congrats on the Grand Opening.

I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at Pithari in Middletown! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and treated with exceptional care. We ordered a delicious spread of dishes, and every single item was outstanding: •Moroccan Shrimp – perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of spice •Mediterranean Salmon – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented •Shrimp Risotto – creamy, rich, and packed with taste •Creme Brulee Cheesecake – an amazing twist on two classic desserts •Sweet Tea and Root Beer – refreshing and just right Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. The attention to detail, both in the kitchen and from the staff, was clear throughout the entire visit. I highly recommend Pithari to anyone looking for a quality meal and top-notch service. My girlfriend and I had one of the most memorable meals we’ve had in a long time at Pithari in Middletown. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance swept us away—it’s warm, elegant, and filled with Mediterranean charm. The service was top-notch: kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. I ordered the chicken kebabs served over hummus, and wow—absolutely mouthwatering. The chicken was perfectly grilled, tender, and flavorful, and the hummus was smooth and rich with a beautiful depth of flavor. Because of my gluten allergy, the staff was kind enough to swap out what normally comes with the dish and instead served me a side of brussels sprouts. I don’t know what glaze they used—possibly a hot honey—but they were absolutely divine. Sweet, savory, crispy—every bite was a delight. My girlfriend had the Salmon entrée and was blown away by the flavor and presentation. Everything on our plates was fresh, vibrant, and clearly prepared with care. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Pithari is a gem—if you’re anywhere near Middletown and love Mediterranean food, don’t walk… run!

This was my second time at Pithari . This place is great. Decor, atmosphere, food and drinks are great and the service is amazing . Everything you would want in a dinning experience. My waiter was Maria she was so much fun and knowledgeable. Sweet women. Thanks Maria !!

At the end of our experience, I said to my husband "so do you want to cancel our trip to the state fair, and ask your parents if they want to come here with us tomorrow?" Lol. We have almost an hour drive to get to this restaurant, but we are coming back. Shout out to our incredibly sweet and attentive waitress, Aryanna! When the bubble on my Cosmo popped, she heard me say I had wanted a picture with the bubble on my Cosmo, and came back to give me another one so we could get the picture! For drinks, I ordered the Orange Breeze and the Cosmo. Both were excellent, but my favorite was the orange breeze because I love Tanqueray, and the aromatic spritz atop the candied orange really made the drink a multi-sensory experience. The bubble on the Cosmo surprised me, because when it popped it transformed into an aromatic, visible vapor. What a unique touch! For mains, I had the shrimp risotto and my husband had the Mediteraneo Salmon. In the risotto, the carnoroli rice really elevated the dish. The shrimp was cooked perfectly; quite soft. The salmon dish was delicious overall, but the potato leek cream was the star! It added so much to the fish and really made it different from salmon dishes ordered elsewhere. For dessert, we ordered the chocolate toffee mousse, which topped off the excellent experience!

We went there for the first time today and from the moment you walk in the door it is absolutely beautiful. The service is beyond impeccable and the food….Unbelievably so good.! We had the brussels sprouts appetizer and we have had brussels sprouts at many places and this by far was the best they make it in such a unique way with hummus and honey. It’s just absolutely perfect. We moved onto two grilled sandwiches for lunch again they did not disappoint. Everything is very fresh ,!portions are perfect, And I forgot to mention it started out with a pallet cleansing shot that was complementary and I’ve never had it before, but what a beautiful touch. We cannot wait to go back definitely going back for dinner and everybody that we came in contact with was very pleasant. Very cool. We were not rushed. It was just excellent experience and perfectly priced.

Food was good, the appetizer of Moroccan shrimp was delicious- definitely need that as a dinner option. The burrata app was okay- not enough bread. I ordered the burgundy beef- had a strip of fat down the middle but very tender, was not a fan or the parsnip mash potato otherwise was delish! My husband had the special of lamb chops- he loved them and cleaned the plate. Very full to try dessert. Joshua was exceptional, very attentive, and gave great recommendations.

Date Night! So, you want to take that special someone somewhere nice that has perfect service and delicious food? Pithari has a nice variety to offer in food and drink in a friendly, cozy place. Pan-seared scallops were on-point, chicken kabobs were juicy with the right measure of seasoning, and chocolate mousse cake was delectible. Padded seat chairs with padded backs were as comfortable as the booths, so we settled in for appetizers, dinner, and even dessert. We were just a married couple wandering in for a casual lunch, but next time we'll dress up for an evening event. We'll be repeating our visits until we've tried the full menu, then thereafter again, when we know our favourites.

The restaurant is tastefully decorated and has one of these beautiful staircases for great pictures. The food was really flavorful. We enjoyed the blue cheese fig flatbread, chicken kabab, calamari, shrimp etc.

I never write reviews but because this was in my hometown and I’ve been patiently waiting for it to open it definitely exceeded my expectations. Everything was delightful and delicious. The aesthetic of the place, the music, service, ambience and of course the food presentation to its taste was perfection. Will definitely be back!!!

Pedro was awesome, as was the rest of the staff. Food was great. We had the meatballs and calamari for starters and then the branzino and beef burgundy for our entrees. We also really enjoyed our wine.

If you need a date night, this is the place. This has to be my new favorite place to eat. The food is unreal. It was absolutely amazing. The beef fell apart and melted in your mouth. The meatballs had the most amazing sauce and melted in your mouth as well. I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!!!

We had a great meal at Pithari! We’d heard so many good things, and now understand why. The burgundy beef and chicken kebab dishes we ordered were excellent. Both of us enjoyed them and would order again!

Today we had a celebration of life luncheon at potato. The staff at the resturaunt made a sad event a happy memorable event. From the appetizers to the main courses the food was spectacular. The portions were great. The desert options were incredible and the coffee though you needed to wait for was spectacular. I highly recommend the resturaunt for any event and or lunch and dinner. Keep up the great work.

We've been here many times since it opens and every time it's amazing. It's our new favorite restaurant. The building decor has always been beautiful, but the food is so amazing. The hummus is so fresh and delicious. We love the chicken skewers and seafood linguine. Honestly everything we've ordered has been delicious. The service is fast and friendly. Overall a wonderful new addition to Main St in Middletown.

The food and service was amazing! Everyone was friendly and welcoming to us. It a great atmosphere to have a romantic dinner plus the beautiful decor ❤️ I will definitely me going back for a date night soon!

We had an amazing date night here during the week! Mark was our server and he did a fantastic job, very attentive and personable with just the right amount of check ups to ensure we were doing well while we enjoyed our evening. Thank you Mark! It was packed and lively, with a great atmosphere and vibe. This was our second visit and we loved the food both times, very flavorful with large portions so we always have some leftovers to enjoy later. The mixed drinks were well done. I highly recommend this place for a nice date where you can dress up but not travel super far from home. It has its own parking lot and is very easy to get to from route 1.

This was one of the best meals I have ever had. The service was 10/10. They stand at the wall in the dining room waiting to make sure your every need is met. The girl, Mirabel, who was helping remove our plates from our table was extremely present. I don’t remember our servers name, but he was incredibly knowledgeable on the menu and Mediterranean cuisine as a whole. The atmosphere was wonderful - decorated for Valentine’s Day - incredibly beautiful and warm. Would recommend Pithari to everyone! I will definitely be back.

This places was PACKED! Get the reservation. My husband and I had a date night here, as a walk in, but they were booked but could squeeze us in. (This is my only gripe and why it’s not all 5s, I felt rushed). Their espresso martini was the best I’ve ever had and the burrata app was perfect. The food was so good! I can’t wait to come back!

Pithari is a Mediterranean themed upscale restaurant located in the heart of Middletown DE. Everything is delicious here, only negative is the price, which is why I graded 5 stars for all categories but four overall. Parking around Pithari is limited. My companion and I enjoyed our meal however we will not be back too soon due to cost considerations.

A delightful experience. The drinks were very interesting and worthy of indulging. The food was fresh, dynamic and plated exceptionally well. One dish I wasn't a fan of was the shrimp risotto. It was very fragrant which I've never had in a risotto, a little too strong for an enjoyable experience. I also had the braised beef which mended wonderfully with asparagus and potatoes. What was off here was what tasted like sweet potatoes mashed as the base. I question the chef's decision for this addition. The gravy however that comes with it was delicious, which makes me even more baffled by the inclusion of sweetness to the dish with a flavorful salted gravy. One last tip: could water be served from the start? Overall, a splendid dining experience in the heart of Middletown!

While the food left a lot to be desired, the atmosphere and service was absolutely amazing!! Rose was SO kind! She didn’t hound the table but came by just enough, she was so pleasant and never frowned at us even once. If I go back to this restaurant, it would be simply because of how wonderful Rose treated us while we were there. The food wasn’t awful, but it definitely wasn’t great. I’m vegetarian and the options were not many. We got mock tails because neither of us drink alcohol, and they were pretty good. Rose, thank you so much!

Very nice restaurant! I love the ambience! Food was great! From appetizer to main course to dessert and coffee was awesome. There was just a little hiccup on the serving time. The soup shot and appetizer arrived in no time but our main course took at least 30 mins. As a matter of fact, our meal was served almost at the same time as the table next to us who arrived after we finished our appetizer. However, I think we were more of an exception than the norm. That incident was not a deal breaker yet. Will for sure give them a try again … I specifically want to come back for brunch! We savored every dish we ordered. The creme brulee cheesecake is the best of both worlds! A true harmony of flavors and textures!

This was a great place to dine. The food was delicious. However, they do not list some of the necessary ingredients, and I think that could be helpful for people who have certain food restrictions and allergies. They also do not have grilled shrimp or have the ability to grill the shrimp, but that’s not a huge deal. My friend is allergic to strawberries, and the dessert was served with strawberries that were not listed on the menu. I plan to return in the future because it was still a great experience. Our waitress, Maria, was great.

We truly enjoy our dining experiences at Pithari. We are always guaranteed to receive friendly, attentive service; unique menu offerings both to eat and drink. The food & bar never disappoint. The chocolate strawberry martini was a delectable dessert in a glass!! We dined on the meatballs ( better than any Italian restaurant in the area); calamari w/ tzatziki ( tzatziki was amazing!!); seafood linguine ( delicious) & the beef pasta dish ( this was outstanding deep flavors, a hint of heat); and ended with the creme brûlée cheesecake to go. Our only criticism is the tight seating which is a challenge to navigate. But if you are looking for a unique, solid value for your buck dining experience, this is the place to visit!

The food, however, did not quite meet expectations. The dishes we ordered were average in taste and lacked the impact we were hoping for. That said, it’s possible we didn’t choose their best or signature items. Overall, Pithari is worth appreciating for its ambiance, and a revisit with recommended dishes might offer a better food experience.

This place has potential, but needs to improve/update their menu and reinvest in their employees and the business. We’ve been several times, and I always ask servers what they like to eat. Sadly, the response is nearly always the same: “I have not tried much/any things on the menu because they don’t give us food to try”. This is a massive failure on the management/ownership. You should be showcasing dishes at lineup every. single. day. Your servers should intimately know your menu (especially since you never change it), and be excited about what you are offering. Additionally, STOP putting “whipped” cheese on so many menu items, especially the calamari. The salads are generally overdressed, and in the case of the Cretian salad, way too much bread. The salmon skewers are tasty and prepared well. The baklava was not good. Please add more vegetarian and healthy options. Please add more authentic Mediterranean dishes and wines, and reduce your portion size. I live nearby, and truly want to come in more frequently, but I am very bored with the menu after just four visits in the last year. Train your employees, keep improving/ updating your menu, seek out real feedback.

This was the 5th or 6th time we’ve been to this restaurant & it always been a delight to have a meal & enjoy the ambience there. Except today….because it was Valentine’s Day, in spite of the fact that we were there at 1 pm for an early dinner, we were railroaded to “the vault” for seating because they were reservations only! First of all, who knew you needed reservations at 1 pm? There was NOTHING posted on their website about needing reservations even for the evening sittings! So there we were, in “the vault,” a hideaway from the rest of the restaurant’s ambience & service! What is “the vault”? Exactly that, the vault where the bank kept its money! But that’s not the issue here: the issue is that this sitting was in the corner facing the entrance to the kitchen where we could hear every word yelled across the kitchen, see the waiters take food out for serving! It was a disgusting disgusting experience. And to top it off, we could not order from the menu but only from the pre-set menu for the day at $70 per person with very limited choices! We landed up with a $210 bill with tip & didn’t even have dessert! My husband had 2 glasses of wine & I had Diet Coke! As much as we have valued this restaurant in past visits, this was a deal-breaker! They’ve just lost 2 good customers, which is a shame for them. But…that’s how restaurants go under, they start off great then decide they can cut corners & suck! This experience sucked! Bye bye Pithari! Bye!

I have a gluten allergy and I literally LOVED everything about this restaurant. I told my server and they were super nice and gave me a gluten free menu. I ordered the chicken skewer and it came out with pita. I asked the runner and my server if it was also gluten free and they both said yes. I ate it and now i’m in pain and will be for about a week. I just hope that my review leads to the managers educating their employees because I did love this restaraunt and I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else.
