Penelope is a stunning food experience. From the time we sat, we were intrigued by their offerings. We immediately received a welcome drink topped off with cotton candy. The food was good. Go with an appetite and get dessert. There was a dessert tower that had delicious treats, but I was too full to enjoy them.

So my partner and I always have a drink at el buscia the enoteca across the road as we live close by. I always noticed the sparkling interior from the window and the beautiful garden creeper that frames the door. So before my booking , I read the reviews and had a sense of what we were getting into. Upon our arrival we were greeted very nicely by the host and she took our coats and sent us to the table.. the interior (I am an interior designer) so I have to say the interior is really special, glamorous and interesting. I now understand all the instagram influencer ahha who constantly book out this place. We booked out table 3 weeks earlier to get the 8 30pm slot. Ok so to my review , I have to say we had a pleasant evening in general. We had good service , however I noticed and commented with my boyfriend these waiters are a bit intense. One they all dressed in black with ear pieces which make them look like body guards , the other thing is you can see they are pushing the restaurant to get the tables turned from the 8 30 to the 10pm service. They kept filling our glasses of wine even if I only had 3 sips. It was hard to relax watching them going up down up down at gods speed. I'm not saying it's a bad thing that there was service at the table just it's very very pushy. I think the point of this specific restaurant is more of an event restaurant where every 30 minutes there was a cake coming out with the same song playing . So in general go in mind knowing it's a "face paced" turn around of 2 hours. We later went to the bar for a drink and finally there we felt like we could relax. All in all , it was nice , I enjoyed it the food was good. I really wish the owners can do something about the pushy atmosphere or get the waiters to come across relaxed and maybe not overlook the restaurant so much that give some tables a chance to "eat slow and relax" ...

Lovely hidden gem in the Bocconi Porta Romana area. The inside is totally beautiful, romantic and vibey, perfect for a date night or birthday celebration. We got their oysters, truffle fries and caprese salad. The oysters were very fresh, delicious, the rest of the food was just okay but you are really coming for the experience and atmosphere. I would love to come back and try more of the menu.

Lovely atmosphere. As you walk in you feel transported in some sort of whimsical place. Nothing is left to chance. Every single detail seems to have been sorted out. They welcome you with an interesting aperitivo. A Prosecco topped with Cotton Candy. Food is also nice. Not exceptional but good enough to bring you back a second time. Good service. Overall a nice experience.

I went there with 2 of my friends, the service was efficient, some waiters could be kinder but okay. I really liked the appetizers and the cotton candy processo and the main dish. We also brought our own birthday cake and they had a candle for it and plated for us. The music was lovely but there was the same loud music playing whenever there is a cake with a candle going to a table. Not bad just an observation. we sat to a nice plant and at the middle of the dinner there was a little caterpillar that fell from the plant i didn’t mind but it could easily get into you food. The dishes were good. Very nuce lights. But waited too long to pay the bill.

Decided to celebrate my birthday there and the atmosphere, beauty of the place left us without words. The place is stylish, chic and stunning. The food was perfect too. But speaking about minuses: the service was a huge disappointment for us. The waiters interrupted us all the time when my friends start to talk to me with celebrations toasts, brought away my dish until I finished it, and always hurry up us to eat and drink faster. By the end of the evening they overcount our bill for 50€. And added the things that we didn’t order. After we said about this , they said just “sorry, it happened” Good place with good kitchen but the service is absolutely unforgivable. That’s not normal.

Lovely atmosphere, but pretentious and the food was not great. We ordered tuna and salmon tartare which were very small in portion, unseasoned, and were not fresh. Pasta was super salty and did not taste good. The ingredients were bad quality and the food made me sick afterwards. Staffs were also not attentive. Overpriced and pretentious restaurant. Not recommend.

Unfortunately isn't possible to give 0 star for the review, even 1 start is too much. Starting from the beginning, to book a table for 2 people, for the Christmas lunch was a nightmare; we booked the table A MONTH in advance and we had to call between me and the other person, more then 10 times for a week to understand if our reservation was made or not. Then finally our reservation was confirmed. So today we were super happy until we reach the restaurant, the location is 10+ but the service is under the 0, they gave us an arranged table under the window next to the bar, i repeat ARRANGED table, only to fit two more person for the Christmas Lunch, because if i pay 170€ for the lunch i expect my table to be the same at the others and not arranged. The Manger of the store, Daniele, wasn't helping us at all, saying that they decide to whom give the tables reserved, and that one was the only table available for us he said, so basically we had to pay as the others customer but we had the worst table in the restaurant, with the manager telling us:"probably is the first time that you came so that's why you don't know the restaurant, we never received a complaint from anyone;" just a little spoiler i saw other 2 review of customer having the same table and weren't happy at all. Last but not the least, we asked our money back of course after this excellent service and the manager asked us to send an email asking why we wanted our money back. Of course we had our money back without any email and i thanks the whole restaurant to ruin our Christmas Lunch.

I have to give 1 star unfortunately to this place, the place is nice absolutely lovely classy restaurant but the service. Let’s start from the beginning, we made a reservation for the slot at 10pm and we literally didn’t have time to enjoy anything, we had the welcome Prosecco with small starter and we got 3 starters to share between 4, then it was past 11 and most probably they had to close and they started rushing us, we finished our starters and literally not even 1 minute after they brought the mains…. We had ordered pata negra plate and we still were enjoying the taste when straight away they bring the mains…. I was speachless, then we ate our mains and again straight after they came telling us the kitchen was closing so we had to rush to order desserts and coffee and when we pointed the fact they were rushing us they offered a free coffee and then they came back saying the machine was already cleaned and they couldn’t make it, anyway overall not a pleasant experience unfortunately! Don’t open the slot at 10 if you need to close the restaurant at 11:30. Food was good but desserts are nothing great, and I will NOT be back!

Very disappointed. We came here with my boyfriend for Valentine’s (a special occasion). I booked a table almost a week before, mentioning we wanted a great table. First, we came at our booking hour 22:30. The table wasn’t ready yet so we had to wait at the bar. The barman was nice so it helped. They offer so olives and kind of a bread. Then our table was ready, and we had a tiny high table next to the window. It was cold and we were not feeling confortable. On my way to the toilets I saw that there was a lot of free space in the other part of the restaurant (which was way more beautiful). Naturally I asked to change table when it’s possible for them. Their hostess was very kind, saying that they will change us asap and we could start with our drinks and appetizers first. They didn’t do anything. Also, they « offer » a cute prosseco drink… it was counted on the check. Personally I have no problem to pay it, because anyways I was planing to order it. But at least they should mention that it is not 100% offered. Regarding the food, it was very good but soooo small portions.. don’t go there if you’re starving ! We were so disappointed of the overall experience that we didn’t even took à desert and left very quickly. When you go in a gastronomical and high-standing place, the service must be up to par.
