It was really good, big portion sized for a low price!
Great experience!! Food was amazing and limoncello was the best part!!
Le Arcate truly stands out as one of the best restaurants we visited in Bologna. The service was exceptional, and Davide deserves special praise for being incredibly attentive, friendly, and professional throughout our dinner. His warm hospitality made the experience even more memorable. We tried several dishes and every single one was excellent. The Tagliatelle classiche al ragù bolognese was rich, flavourful, and perfectly executed. The Linguine alle vongole lupini e tarallo napoletano was fresh and beautifully balanced, with the tarallo adding a lovely crunch. The Frittura mista di pesce con paranza e verdure croccanti was extremely fresh, well-seasoned, and perfectly crispy. We finished with their homemade Crostatina con crema al cioccolato e frutti di bosco, an absolutely delightful dessert with a buttery crust, silky chocolate cream, and bright berries. A pleasant surprise was the Birra media bionda on tap—rare to find in Italy, where most places serve bottled beer—and it paired perfectly with our dishes. To make the evening even more special, Davide surprised us with two pistachio liqueurs for our anniversary. It was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. Highly recommended—we’ll definitely return on our next trip to Bologna!
Our first night in Bologna brought us to a restaurant local to where we were staying in Via Mascarella in the University district. The food , service and atmosphere were so good that we came 4 times during our trip. The service from Davidi and his dad was so good, the food so tasty and well presented and cost so reasonable we would definitely recommend a visit.
Chef Massimo makes the best Tortellini with ricotta and spinach I’ve ever had! Incredible! The tagliatelle with Bolognese was great, and the honey chicken was fantastic! Well done..great food, wine , service and atmosphere! We are Canadian, so really enjoyed this authentic meal.
For lunch, we used TheFork discount for our reservation. The restaurant was proactive in letting us know that pizza and drinks were not included in the discount. We ordered a salad and a seafood appetizer, both of which tasted great, though the portions weren't huge. Still, they were definitely worth it. What I'd particularly recommend is the Tortelloni verdi ricotta e spinaci—it was incredibly delicious and a definite must-try!
Very nice easy going restaurant. It was very tasty. We tried the Cotoletta a la Bolognese. And tagliatelle al ragù (bolognese style). The cottole is like a schnitzel, but heavier so be mindful. However to try and share is great. I'll highly recommend. The tagliatelle al ragù I personally quite didn't really like. It wasn't anything special and it wasn't that flavourful as I know it can be. The staff was great I must say. Very very friendly and funny. I felt at home. I'll still recommend. The pizzas also looked great.
As we were staying in a hotel, we went to this restaurant late in the evening. I took a sea bream fillet and there was both quantity and quality, the fish was very tasteful and the sides as well. The personnel was nice with us, and it feels good to eat in a restaurant where locals go as a tourist. I'd gladly advise tourists visiting the city to go there if they have to eat in the evening.
One of the best pizzas I had in Bologna. Although the restaurant isn’t in the center and you can miss it but it is a must visit. The team are simply amazing and so helpful, the restaurant is clean and the food was so delicious. It gets pretty busy during the day and night. They close after lunch around 2:30 and reopen at night around 7. We had pizza and pasta and salads, we visited it many times. You can also take away your order if you prefer.
Overall, there is promise here. The pricing is fair, the team clearly cares, and the foundation is solid. With a bit more warmth, confidence, and flavor, this place could easily grow into something specia, perhaps even on par with Trattoria di Tribunale in Parma one day. We tried the pizza calzone and the Parmesan cream tortellini. The calzone dough was lovely and light, chewy, and well-baked yet the ricotta felt oddly dry and crumbly. The tortellini looked beautiful on the plate, yet the flavor fell short; the Parmesan’s umami was faint, the seasoning too little, and a tast of flour from the roux was noticeable from the sauce. The service showed genuine ambition, which we truly appreciated, though a bit of stress seemed to ripple through the room and reach the guests. The ambience has real potential. The high ceilings and large windows give the space character, but the bright, cool lighting and plain décor made it feel unfinished, as if it hasn’t quite decided what it wants to be. I wish you the best of luck!
food average, service confused the order for which they charged a mandatory tip for card payment. Among the many restaurants nearby I would definitely choose another one
Quite mediocre food in Bologna. We have tried their tortellini and moscardini alla luciana. The tortellini had nothing special and it came with pickled truffle without any taste. Miscardini was also tastless and it came quite cold. The waiting time was also long even for starter, I don t recomed this restaurant.
