We celebrated New Year’s Eve at the downtown Sheraton Minneapolis in their newly renovated iconic dome, and it was a fantastic experience. The space was absolutely beautiful and felt special for ringing in the New Year. The service was excellent—staff were attentive and thoughtful. They were giving out complimentary champagne Jell-O shots, and when I mentioned I don’t like Jell-O, they kindly bought my first drink instead, which was such a nice touch. The DJ was great, the music kept the energy up all night, and the overall vibe was fun and lively. We live right next door, so the convenience couldn’t be beat. For those coming in from out of town, they also offered a fantastic dinner option and an overnight stay. Overall, we had a lovely evening and would highly recommend this New Year’s Eve celebration. We hope to return this year!
I stayed at the Sheraton Minneapolis Downtown Convention Center for a Worldwide Seminar, and I was so impressed with how well everything went! The hotel was extremely busy, but that didn’t affect how friendly, patient, and helpful the staff were. Everyone I met had such a positive attitude and went out of their way to make sure guests felt welcome. My room was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. Housekeeping came by every day and did such a great job keeping everything neat and fresh. You can tell they really take pride in keeping the place spotless. The pool area was also lovely — clean, relaxing. This hotel is definitely dog-friendly, which I absolutely loved! It’s also very disabled-friendly, with easy access throughout the building, wide spaces, and elevators in convenient spots. It felt like they really thought about everyone’s comfort and accessibility needs. I also want to give a special shoutout to Vito and Augustus, who were extra kind and helpful during my stay — they truly made a difference. Overall, this was such a positive experience. Great location, wonderful staff, clean rooms, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be staying here again next time I’m in Minneapolis!
Went to life surge class. Renovated so 1963 building looks new. Nobody knows anybody can see the plexiglass dome on the 14th floor that used to have a circular music bar and buffet next to the rooftop pool and trees now a wedding space. Restaurant is ok $18 burger or grilled chicken sandwiches with salad but niccolet diner is next door. Parking was free for guests in 1963 but 45 per night now
Came here as part of Doors Open Minneapolis, so my review is for the building itself an not the rooms or service. The former Millennium Minneapolis building was remodelled into the new Sheraton Convention Center. Grand opening is Tuesday 5/20! Staff is friendly but a little uptight right now. Probably just nevous about the grand opening. Its a lovely building. The geodesic dome was open to public during the event. Both my friends and I did a "woooooooah!" when we walked in. Wish the glass was... cleaner? Looks like it tinted yellow with age. Lots of scratches. Ok view of the Minneapolis skyline. If you compare with the photos from decades past, it used to be a much grander view before some of the highrises blocked the view. Looked like a gentleman's club back in the day. Even had a pool up there! There's some artwork on the basement wall that shows pictures from the building's past. Very much worth checking out. Its on the way to the basement pool / gym. The beige, gold and grey decor feels both premium and meh. Building feels a little dungeon-y with not a lot of natural light. Other than that, its a really cool place!
Great place! Staff is friendly, room was very nice!
Loved it! The front desk staff are amazing. Augustus greets you with energy and warmth!
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Mr. Fransceva Prince who was on duty at the hotel lobby this morning (09/21/25). As I was rushing to the airport, I quickly checked out and accidentally left my small handbag on a chair in the lobby. Mr. Fransceva immediately noticed and kindly ran outside to return it to me just as I was getting into a taxi. His attentiveness and professionalism are truly commendable, and I am very grateful for his outstanding service.
I stayed here several weeks ago but my interactions with Christian from the front desk were so positive and the set tone of my stay that I felt the need to share it. If you’re in Minneapolis for a congress or convention at the Minneapolis Convention center, I HIGHLY recommend staying here. It’s the newest property in the area, the rooms are very clean and feel amazing, and the staff is fabulous. The property is new but still feels warm and inviting. I popped into 2 non-Marriott neighboring properties (which are popular but I won’t name them) and they are significantly older and stuffy. The commute to the convention center is all indoors and takes about a 5-7 minute walk (can also stroll outside if you choose). I will definitely be back.
Our stay at the Sheraton was amazing! The hotel was beautiful and spotless. The staff were very welcoming and polite. We stopped by the hotel bar one evening and enjoyed cocktails. The “Good Decisions” Marg was very refreshing - highly recommend. We also enjoyed brunch one morning - everything was very fresh and cooked perfectly. We look forward to staying here again in the future!
Went to a beautiful Wedding in June that was held at this hotel. Stayed at the hotel for a week. Everything was perfect! The front desk staff was very welcoming and friendly. The bell men were super helpful. Our room was lovely, bed comfy. I highly recommend staying here!
We had our wedding in the dome and it was fantastic! The rooms were clean, and the hotel was new and fresh. The staff went above and beyond! A special shout out to Terry, Jennifer and Raven behind the bar. They made the best drinks and great conversations. We were so warmly greeted by Sandeep, Esha, Christian and Vito everytime we entered and exited the hotel. We had a wonderful stay and we will definitely return!!!
Looking for genuine customer care and service…? Look no more! This hotel & restaurant are NEXT level quality supported by a staff of premium professionals. I was so pleased to meet Joe Cromey, Food & Beverage Manager & his staff who were 100% on point with their service! Joe runs a smoothly running operation with AMAZING food & GREAT servers..Thank you Joe…I will definitely be back & because of you & the team, will visit here 1st when in town. For the hotel staff, Maisey took so much consideration for the unfortunate airline conundrum that had transpired, creating a hectic situation…but she remained calm and cool…as well as warm and friendly…Thank you Maisey…! Please give a round of applause to the entire team who made a difference in my night, & I am confident others as well. If you are even remotely close to Downtown Minneapolis please stay here & say hi to Joe, Maisey & the entire group! THANK YOU SOOOO Much! Sincerely Jacqueline Poss.
Great experience staying here! The restaurant, Esther’s Table, had great breakfast and the bar has such a cool atmosphere and excellent drinks! I would definitely recommend the Good Decisions margarita especially. Hope to stay again!
Pretty, modern, and easy for a work + family trip. Relatively pricy for the days stayed but better than other nearby options.
Everything about this hotel is great! Nice people. Nice rooms. Excellent food in the restaurant.
I’m really impressed by the associate Arash, I’m sayin here for about a week snd everytime i come in hes always there smiling to everyone and bringing up great energy. He definitely made my stay way better and i do plan on visiting again! Thank you arash!
Joe and the restaurant staff did a great job at serving us and the food it's self was amazing
The hotel has been completely redone. It looks like a brand new hotel.
Beautiful hotel! Ambiance, food, and rooms are worth every penny. Highly recommend.
Beautiful rooms and the most friendly staff 👍
2 blocks away cheap public parking ramp
Just went for a fair that was being held near that location.
Love the Sheraton bar!
This is my second stay at this Sheraton. The positive: 1)Perfect if you have a convention event. A 5-10 minute walk through the skyway. Central location close to restaurants, entertainment and walking. Both outside and in the skyway. 2)The rooms were clean. 3)Very hot water and nice liquid soaps, shampoo, etc. 4)The Manager and staff are very accommodating. The negative: 1) No 24 hour complimentary coffee in the lobby. Or at least when the cafe isn’t open.
We absolutely loved our long weekend at The Sheraton for our little family of 4! From the moment we walked in the door and took in the beautiful renovations to the thoughtful extras at the club lounge (they have kombucha - a first for all of the Marriot Bonvoy lounges I've been to - plus several other healthy options), it was an amazingly comfortable stay. A special thank you to Sandeep at the front desk, who helped us choose the perfect room for our tweens! He was warm, welcoming, and always remembered our names each time we came in and out of the front door, which made this feel more akin to a boutique hotel experience. Our kids also loved being right down the hall from the concierge lounge, where we ate a delicious hot breakfast each morning. The evening hors d'oeuvres at the lounge were very plentiful and much more elevated than we expected. Go for the upgrade to the Concierge/Club Floor at this property - you won't regret it! Lastly, thanks to Gus (August), Sandeep's associate who took extra time to settle us in when we arrived. In short, we will be back again next time we are in Minneapolis!
I stayed at this hotel for a couple of days and had a great experience. The staff were amazing friendly, attentive, and very professional. The hotel itself was super clean. The bar is also amazing, and the staff there were just as great and welcoming. At check-out, I notified the team about an issue with the ceiling, and spoke with Sandeep who handled it wonderfully. He was very apologetic, incredibly nice, and overall just great to talk to. Excellent customer service all around!
I attended a two-day retreat in Minnesota and decided to extend my trip into a weeklong stay since it was my first time visiting the state. I chose the Downtown Sheraton, and I’m so glad I did. The property was beautiful, clean, and well-maintained. The staff were consistently polite and friendly, which made me feel very welcome. The location was convenient, with plenty of restaurants nearby and even a Target within walking distance for any essentials. I also loved that the free bus stops right outside the hotel. The pool was gorgeous, warm, and such a highlight of my stay. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend for anyone visiting downtown Minneapolis.
2025-1009: Overall, everything was great. The checkin was smooth. The room was clean and had great king size bed/mattress. TV was modern but didn’t watch much. The bath room and shower were all functional. The gym well equipped and working order. The staff was great and helpful in every interaction.
Had an awesome stay. We went to a party across the street. the pool was damn good. Sandype was very friendly and professional. His masculine voice sounded pretty good. the parking fee sucked out wallet. no brainer downtown parking.
Beautiful hotel, best sleep I've had away from home. Late checkout was nice. Parking cost $45. The pool was...Not good! The hygiene products all had a masculine sent to it, I didnt enjoy it. Had to use the key card to go anywhere in the building and even to use the elevator. The end bill was never communicated, no email or final total at checkout? Still dont know what I was charged in the end.
I wanna give a huge shoutout to the amazing teams that worked this weekend during twin cities con . They were amazing. They were so kind and caring . Also very helpful. I will be rebooking this hotel next year for the con also the lady I checked in with was so understanding about my fear of when I got trapped in an elevator at another con years ago so she put me on the lowest floor that she could and it was amazing . I hope this reaches their corporate heads and they give them a raise or an award because they where all outstanding .
We stayed for a dance competition and could not have had a better experience. Staff was accommodating to the dance schedule with checking in and out. They gave advice for places to go and do. They cheered on the girls as they left to go compete. Rooms were pristine and comfortable. We felt safe, which is huge with kids, especially at night downtown Minneapolis. They would not let us leave at night without a security guard - which we were so thankful for! Parking was easy and close by. The pool was clean and warm. The seating available was comfortable and chic. It was convenient to have coffee shop for early mornings and bar for late nights. Cannot say enough about the staff - everyone from front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, coffee shop, etc was kind and friendly! Definitely would stay again!
If you're visiting Minneapolis for business, the Sheraton near the convention center is a great location. Access to highways that take you all over the region, great restaurants nearby and rooms that allow you to unwind after meetings. Highly recommended.
First time stay in the newly renovated location and beauty abounds. Welcomed by kind and helpful staff. The lobby is a great place for people watching and easy transit access. Loved the deep heated indoor pool. Our suite was amazing, with a few points of improvement; the living room is very loud (AC or ventilation) had TV volume up to highest point and still could not hear it clearly. Entrance has 1 dedicated elevator, however call button signals for all 3.
The hotel was beautiful and the price wasn't bad. Parking cost half the price of the room! Otherwise the location wasn't bad but about a block up was a bit shady. Nice view of the city.
There is no street parking and the parking garage for over $40. I arrived at 7 pm and left and 11 am and it cost me over $80 dollars. DO NOT PARK!
Overall it was fine. Bit confusing to get to the parking ramp. I thought the snacks were overpriced. Convenient location for the Minneapolis Convention Center. The Starbucks inside was decent; again felt overpriced.
Attended a conference here and its a really beautiful hotel. Staff is friendly and really close to bars/restaurants and shops.
Room was actually pretty good and clean vibes all around
Rooms were nice, but no microwave which was weird to us. The gym was SO NICE, much better than we expected. Hotel restaurant was amazing.
We took a quick weekend vacation to Minneapolis and stayed here - We had a King Suite on an upper floor. The room was very clean, though it could do with some more decor - especially in the living area. Additionally, we were kind of bummed to find that our bathroom was not only quite small, but the shower was a regular tub... meanwhile, other basic rooms on our floor had nice, glass, walk-in showers! Perhaps there are plans to renovate in the future. Additionally, our key cards weren't programmed correctly initially and stopped working after our first night. Easy fix, but a bit frustrating. This hotel also has a nice bar and restaurant in the lobby with an excellent Mixologist making fantastic drinks!
It was a pretty standard hotel near the convention center. I have to say I don’t think my AC worked correctly when I was staying there so my room was a bit hotter than it should’ve been. Overall, I’d probably stay again.
Service here is great. Its proximity to the convention center is convenient. The rooms are small, but well kept. My two main complaints are there aren’t comfortable chairs or places to do work in the room. Also the carpets they have chosen leave a micro plastic dust everywhere that you can’t see with the naked eye but turn on a UV light in the room and it made me want to wear a mask
The best thing about this hotel is the location. Unfortunately, the staff and rooms leave something to be desired. The room made bizarre knocking noises randomly throughout the night, which interfered with my sleep. Furthermore, the staff messed up the payment (as detailed below). While the staff is friendly, they were not very helpful. They failed to send the credit card authorization forms that were required to actually charge the corporate card used to book the room. At checkout, they sprang on me that they were charging my personal card instead of the corporate card used for booking. The staff member acted like it was my fault that I didn't have the forms they never sent, despite admitting, "a lot of people are having this problem today." When I realized the folio they provided didn't include all of the information my institution expects for reimbursement, I called to ask for a proper receipt, which they then refused to provide. Lastly, usually hotels of this caliber are able to handle requests about basic allergens/irritants, such as foam pillows instead of feather and fragrance-free soap. This hotel ignored the request I'd made at booking for foam pillows (they weren't out, they just didn't do it) and said they only had scented soap. Altogether, disappointing.
It's hot. November and the temperature outside is about 48 degrees Fahrenheit. I got in at 11 pm last night and was sweating but decided to mention it this morning that I have the thermostat at 66, yet, it doesn't go below 71 degrees. I had to open my window. They go on to tell me that some rooms are as hot as 87 degrees and they have received complaints (I feel for them but how does it fix my problem) and that the building is old and I can get a fan in my room. So they've received complaints and they don't think that perhaps the heater in general might be too high? Perhaps you don't need to warm the building up as much. The hallways are excessively warm and to pay $200.00 a night to be sweating in your sleep at a 4 star hotel. I feel like I'm missing something but when you stay in a hotel room isn't the idea that you can control your own thermostat?
I traveled with a group of 3 total, my one sister uses a powerchair. We were in the double bed, accessible roll-in shower room. Rooms do run a tad bit on the small side. For the price you pay, there isn't much included - you pay for breakfast separately, parking separately, any snacks or drinks are separate and overpriced. No room service, not sufficient enough storage - only two drawers in our room. Laundry is very expensive as well. Nothing is explained when you check in - no mention of what the hotel offers, breakfast hours, pool hours. No short explanation of what the hotel offers, what the amenities are and where they're located. I made the reservation with one card, and was charged for the card I used at check to cover incidentals. When asked my original card would still be charged, I was told yes, but that wasn't the case. The positive - very friendly and accommodating staff, and the location is perfect. To be fair, if half stars were an option, I'd have given 3.5 stars instead of 3.
Disappointed! Paid Sheraton prices and got a room with a damaged ceiling in the bathroom that probably had mold by now. They also wouldn't honor my gold status with Marriott. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
Overpriced, cramped and limited. I was hoping for a better outcome than what the price point would suggest, but that was not the case at all. Let’s start with the positive. It’s conveniently located in downtown. It has a skywalk connected to the convention center. Wifi is fast. Staff was super friendly. Halls/floors were mostly quiet. Now to the negative, and there are a lot. The rooms are tiny. From the walk-in shower, to the amount of space available, the place is cramped. The hotel is built inside a long, narrow oval, and of course the hotel was retrofitted in the building to maximize room counts over accommodations. The showers, while they do a better job of not spilling out of the door, are only 3 feet wide, and there’s an unnecessary metal tray where you can easily clip it. I had a king so it wasn’t too cramped like the double bed rooms, but there wasn’t a true desk or place to eat. There was a circular table for both/either but it was not an enjoyable experience using it. Parking cost extra. There is no breakfast. The on-site laundry room takes $2 in quarters, which is something nobody carries. It seemed only an elevator worked at a time, causing big delays. Food delivery has to be picked up downstairs, which if you’re just wanting to shower and have food brought to you, that’s not an option. Even the room service does not work. For it being a Sheraton, this felt more like a Fairfield. I expected more and was extremely disappointed in the collection of minor contrivances this hotel has.
I was excited to stay at this property after its recent refresh, especially with the addition of a lounge. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the experience. As a Titanium member, I’m usually upgraded—especially during midweek stays—but that didn’t happen this time, which is fine. However, the room I received was the smallest I’ve ever had, barely 200 square feet, with two beds crammed in so tightly there was no space to sit at the desk. The room layout was awkward, with the bed only about six feet from the door, making it easy to hear every hallway noise—conversations, doors slamming, even other TVs. The lounge looks nice, but the coffee machine was out of order and the beverage options were limited to water and Diet Pepsi. While the hotel has been remodeled, it’s clear corners were cut—especially in the bathroom and with the large, noisy AC unit on the wall. At a $100 price point, this might be a decent option. But given it’s priced similarly to higher-end Marriott properties in the area, I can’t recommend it. I’m a corporate traveler, so some of this doesn’t bother me personally—but if it matters to you, I’d suggest staying elsewhere.
I booked 4x rooms for Military personnel at the Marriott Downtown location after being re-directed by The Marriott Residence Inn as they didn't have 4 single king rooms. After confirming the rooms were available we showed up at location within the hour to learn they "overbooked" these rooms and were given 2x double rooms, after they were unable to accomodate. Manager wouldn't speak to us direct, no vouchers or apologies given. Wouldn't return to this location.
Excessively loud parties in the dome after quiet hours
If you have anything that is important to you that you bring into this hotel and you lose it, never ever trust that the staff will report it as lost. I brought a stuffed otter (Ollie) and I forgot to pack him while leaving the room. I am 100% sure that Ollie was left in the room as I never brought him out of the room since entering. I called the hotel multiple times to report him missing and asked if I could look at the lost and found; you are not allowed to look in the lost and found as it’s completely controlled by the cleaning staff. I’ve tried to explain the importance of Ollie as he signifies the start of the relationship between me and my girlfriend despite this the staff has shown zero care about the misplaced item. There are two outcomes that happened to Ollie, he was either thrown away without the thought of being put in lost and found or he was stolen. Again if you have something you care about that is lost in the hotel you will never see it again. I’m extremely disappointed in my stay and I urge anyone to stay clear of this place, the lack of care and empathy shown by the staff has ruined my trip.
HORRIBLE SERVICE!! My boyfriend left a stuffed animal that meant a lot to us and the staff had no care in the world. We have called multiple times. He drove another 3 hours just to talk to them in person again and still the same “we’ll call you if we see it.” The stuffed animal was left on the bed and theres no way they DIDN’T see it. This service is UNACCEPTABLE. If I could leave no stars I would. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!!
